No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1
Chapter Thirty-Seven: When World's Collide (Part 7)
...
"You seem kinda bummed."
...
"You seem kinda nosy."
...
"Well, normally...you're being annoying."
...
"Well, normally...you're being an asshole."
...
Clint Barton and Bucky Barnes were bothering one another, and Natasha was pretty over it. They both were focused on a man named Niko Constantin, but the back and forth between them was getting on her nerves..
Niko had a codename that was similar to Natasha's, but she kept referring to him as the "Wolf Spider".
They were monitoring him from afar and they planned to bring him. They were waiting for specific orders, and the plan was to make sure that he remained in their custody.
Natasha was also multi-tasking. She started looking over a digital memo that was in front of her body. She kept glancing at one of the updates, then it compelled her to look over in Bucky's direction again. The update was on a decision that was made about Ezekiel Stane.
She had a feeling deep in her bones telling her that Bucky had more to add to the story. Natasha looked at him, then he slowly started looking over at her.
His expression was playful as he looked at her screen. He recognized the update that she was reading, then his mouth tightened up real quick.
He had nothing to share about it, and he planned to make that clear at some point.
...
"When have I ever been an asshole?"
...
Bucky returned to the statement that Clint Barton made. That conversation held his interest, because the not-so-winter-soldier could see where Natasha was going with her looks. Bucky missed her far more than he could really express, and the last thing that he wanted to do was squabble with her over Ezekiel Stane.
No thanks.
Bucky decided to take a pass on that for the moment. He inwardly hoped Natasha would understand that, but she had built up quite a hatred toward their old "teammate".
Natasha wanted him dead or in chains, so...
Clint Barton didn't answer. He kept his attention locked on the person that they were supposed to be monitoring, so he disregarded Bucky's question completely.
Bucky didn't care tho. He was more interested in all the random business that kept going on around him. The "Black Widow" received a call from Fury, like always, but she wasn't saying very much. "Hawkeye" also seemed a bit preoccupied with his cellphone. He kept checking it off and on, so Bucky felt left out in the cold...
He didn't even bring his cellphone with him, so he just studied the others. Natasha came back from her call with a gentle smirk. What the fuck..
Bucky wanted to question her, but he didn't. He just scowled there on his lonesome, then he watched over some spider prick. The man was about to get bound and gagged, but waiting for it was a chore. Bucky continued to look over at Natasha as they waited.
They were going to head home together, right? Bucky was inwardly hoping for that. He lived with Natasha, but she was always running off.
Bucky wasn't as involved as she was when it came to S.H.I.E.L.D. work, and he preferred to spend more time at home.
He also had an uneasy feeling swirling around in his gut that he couldn't shake. Bucky figured that she'd be asking him about something later on at home. Maybe it had to do with Ezekiel Stane, maybe not.
It felt like some sort of disagreement between them was definitely on the way.
Oh well tho, because Bucky didn't plan on telling her anything.
