No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1

Chapter 49: By The Way (Part 9)

Victor Strange was awake, but he was loafing around his old room at the Sanctorum. He hadn't even gotten out of bed at that point, because his mind was on overdrive.

The baby sorcerer checked his phone when he woke up, and he noticed that he received a message from his friendly roommate. Victor was hesitant to even read it, because…
Uhh, he focused on checking to see if his older brother's presence was somewhere in the building.

He picked up Wong's moody vibes as he searched, then he felt the gentle energy of someone else. It also felt like his sister was there, somewhere, but her presence seemed distant.

Victor wanted to have some sort of conversation with his older siblings, but he understood why they were failing to connect. Victor ignored his cellphone. He found his way out of bed, then he showered.

The room housed a long lost depression for him. The baby sorcerer remembered that he occupied that space long before he met Ezekiel.

He felt lonely there, and the room was covered in dust. Cobwebs. Mess. Yikes. Victor sighed softly as he got himself ready for his day. He peered back into the room of doom as he got dressed. His mind immediately went in two different directions, then it made him sigh yet again.

The exhausted sigh was heard by someone that recognized Victor's energy. That person was Wong, and he almost rolled his eyes when he noticed that Victor Strange returned to the Sanctorum. He thought that the Strange BROTHERS were incredibly lazy, and arrogant. He wanted to bring up how much their sister had accomplished out there, but the sorcerer kept his cool.

He knocked on the door several times. Wong made Christine Palmer some food, so his babysitting duties were put on hold while she ate her meal. Victor took his time opening the door, because he knew that he had a bit of a fight ahead of him. The baby sorcerer opened the door, then he gave Wong a kind smile.

"Are you living here again?"

"YES."

Victor wasn't in the mood for any shit. He felt, busy. Victor had a text message brewing in his mind, and it was something that he needed to read and respond to a while ago... Wong didn't smile back either, so that put Victor in a sour mood.

"YOU WILL PAY RENT HERE. YOU WILL CLEAN. YOU WILL HAVE NO VISITORS."

Victor rolled his eyes as hard as he possibly could. He rolled them so hard, they hurt his head. The baby Strange heard that bullshit and he stepped backward into the room that he claimed centuries ago. He told Wong to EAT SHIT AND DIE, then he slammed the door as shut as it could get.

Victor briefly wondered if Wong would ever get a clue. He predicted that the other sorcerer was pretty pissed. But, who cares? Wong could be such a fFFFPPTTTT ayduyqewuorhqudya #!

Holy shit. Victor felt angry. He stood in his room for a good while and he blinked a few times. The baby sorcerer swallowed down all the anger that he felt. He walked over toward a brown notebook that was on a small desk. He used that notebook to send notes to his brother all the time. Victor opened it up, and he wrote one down right away.

He sent his brother a note about eventually talking. After family stuff? Maybe in a few days? Victor wasn't clear on a time. He felt pretty blurred. The young man sent his message to Stephen, then he sat down on the bed.

Too much had happened, and he didn't want to think about Ezekiel or any of his crime lord plans. What Ezekiel wanted to do was extremely selfish, and cruel.

Victor couldn't help it. He started thinking about it, and of course that made him a little overwhelmed. He felt like he had to apologize for way too much, or just...

Another thought crossed his mind. It was similar to the note he wrote to Stephen. The baby Strange bit his lip as the thought processed.

He didn't ignore it anymore, for once, and he finally did something that he had been meaning to do for a while. Victor read the friendly text message that he received.

The message was from "Agent" Clint Barton. Victor felt his face boil over for a moment as he realized that his former roommate responded to his message. He wrote Victor a kind response. It was brief. The thoughts he had about the message weren't very brief.

Victor wanted to tell him he was "around" if he needed something as well. I mean, he also thought the worst. Victor wanted to mention the whole "not going back to the apartment" thing, and possibly...

Uhh, the baby Strange stared at the message. He stared for a good while, until he heard some aggressive knocking on the door to his room again.

Wong was attacking the door, and it seemed like he was out for blood. Victor tried to send back a response, but he didn't want to rush it and write something dumb.
Ok, he tried to send something to his friendly roommate but then he quickly deleted everything that he wrote.

Victor started thinking that he was being weird. Awkward, like always. He got rid of the large explanation that he originally planned to send.

The baby sorcerer eventually settled on a simple message. He still felt odd about it, but Victor committed to the words that he used and he sent it off into the digi-verse.

How odd was that? Victor bit his lip.

He felt extremely weird in that moment, so he put the phone away pretty quickly. Regardless of Wong's rude behavior, things seemed a little better for the baby sorcerer that morning. Victor felt like he could handle Wong's wrath once he opened the door.
