No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1

Chapter 52: Parallel Universe (Part 2)

Victor was trying to concentrate. He was given a strict task to follow, and his mind wasn't allowed to fluctuate.

Wong asked someone to head to the Sanctorum and help him bring Victor back to the focus that he had BEFORE he met Ezekiel, but the mental exercise wasn't working.

His sister Donna was the person that Wong contacted, and she kept watching her baby brother struggle. Victor was elevated, and he was supposed to be constructing something with the tools that he earned through the Mystic Arts.

"You have to think through every detail."

"I understand. Donna."

Not sister. Victor normally referred to her as "sister" instead of her name. The middle child took note of that, but she pressed on. She hadn't seen Victor since he randomly moved to Manhattan.

Who do you think arranged the move? Donna Strange was the person that found her brother the apartment. She even reached out to Clint Barton, and asked him if he'd be interested in renting a room.

Victor wasn't in a good place after Ezekiel disappeared. She was aware he returned, but she could sense that a stain of anger had remained.

The sibling already made some arrangements with their older brother Stephen as well.

They planned to speak to him as a unit, and help him build something for himself. She wanted Victor to focus on building his own "log cabin" until Stephen arrived.

He was supposed to be composing a log cabin right there in the meditation room, but Donna could only see a couple nails and wood beneath his feet.

"Can you imagine what it takes to actually construct a log cabin?"

That was the real question. What did it take to create the space that was currently around their bodies. The ground, the foundation, the nails... every piece.

Victor was mapping it out in his head, but his busy mind wasn't allowed to wander. He kept thinking about things he had said, or things that he had sent someone on his cellphone.

All of that was a waste of time for a person that was supposed to take over the role of the Sorcerer Supreme, so Wong became hellbent on getting Victor back on track.

They all knew something he didn't. Victor was in the dark, but a mental exercise was mandatory. The baby Strange seemed pissed off about it. He just wanted to...

His mind fluttered off again, and he felt Wong silently shut it down. Victor's eyes were sharp at that point, but he tried to soften them.

He started concentrating a bit more, and he even started listing out what materials were actually needed to build his cabin. Donna listened to her little brother talk it out, but she started looking over her right shoulder.

She could tell that someone was walking around. Donna kept looking off toward one of the ancient doors of the Sanctorum, but the sister ignored what she heard.
