No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1
Chapter 54: Parallel Universe (Part 4)
Sofia Strange spent a good amount of time observing her parents.
Her father said that they were temporarily leaving the Dark Dimension, and she started walking with him toward the Sanctum Sanctorum.
She was holding his hand, and she kept wondering about the change in their behavior. They seemed, different...
Sofia's innocent mind was unable to read between the lines, but she started figuring out that her father wasn't in trouble any longer. It seemed like her mother had forgiven him, or something.
She wanted to ask, but the little girl kept quiet. Before she left the dimension with her father, Sofia noticed that her parents kept looking at each other as well, and they seemed very warm.
She didn't understand what happened and she could see a warmth on her father's face. Sofia kept studying it as they walked up to the Sanctorum door.
Stephen Strange didn't knock. He welcomed himself into the space, and his daughter remained by his side. She felt happy. More like, overjoyed.
The little "star child" was spending time with her father, so she was all smiles. They journeyed further into the Sanctorum, and she looked around.
Her father entered a room that was occupied by three other people. Sofia Strange glanced upward when saw her uncle Victor.
He was levitating, and it looked like he was building something. Stephen mentioned something to his sister Donna, and his voice technically woke Victor up.
The baby Strange lost his focus for a moment. He saw his niece. It looked like she was getting tall.
Stephen kept his eyes on his younger brother.
Victor had most of the materials that were required to build his "log cabin", but he seemed to be struggling.
The oldest sibling took a moment to look over what he was putting together, and then he moved his attention back toward their sister Donna.
The log cabin was her idea. She thought of it because she wanted to help Victor move on, but
Stephen saw the situation a little differently.
He understood Victor's dilemma, and he also felt the other soul that was in the mix. Donna wasn't wrong, but the idea needed some readjustments.
"You might get further if you think about a house instead. Or possibly building, an apartment?"
What would that require? Stephen's voice filled the room, and Victor moved a bit beneath all of his concentration.
Wong and Donna had him under a strict hypnosis at that point.
Victor didn't hear a majority of what was happening at the Sanctorum, but he did hear Stephen's voice. His brother joined the exercise, and Victor tried to ignore what he felt.
He felt a little intimidated, I mean...
The weight of Donna, Wong, and Stephen felt very heavy. Victor was doing his best to
concentrate, then Stephen's voice emerged.
A house? Only one house hit his mind. An apartment?
The baby Strange couldn't help it. He started imagining the apartment that he had in Manhattan. The materials for the log cabin began to change. He started replacing them, piece by piece.
Victor remembered things about the apartment. They were taking shape right there in the Sanctorum.
He mapped the small details of the bottom floor, then he tried to remember some of the people
that he walked by every day.
Victor found it easier to remember those things. It felt like he was retrieving them, or pulling them out of some rubble...
He started sculpting out the details that went into his own apartment. He tried to remember everything but, in some sense, he couldn't.
One important detail wasn't clear, but he managed to map out the rest of the building.
Victor didn't know how to recreate Clint Barton's room. He never saw it, and he never cared to
look.
His friendly roommate was always there, always kind and always trying to tell him something. His apartment construction slowed down for just a moment. Victor started processing...
He opened his eyes pretty quickly. Victor forced himself out of the hold that Donna, Wong, and Stephen had placed on his mind.
Not knowing the details about his roommate suffocated him a little bit, so he had to make them stop and rest his head.
Victor eventually saw his family.
He finally noticed Stephen, Donna, and Sofia in the room. Wong was there as well, and he seemed a little pleased.
Possibly? Victor had to wonder.
