No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1

Chapter 55: Parallel Universe (Part 5)

...

"I would like to speak to Clea Strange. Please."

...

Christine's heart was racing. Before Wong took her to the kitchen, he revealed that there was a mirror within the Sanctorum that granted the reflection a request.

Christine had a request in mind, so she alluded Wong as best she could. He was arguing with someone for a long while, and then he randomly disappeared.

She took advantage of the situation, and the first place she went was right in front of that mirror.

Christine spoke out her one and only request, and she immediately noticed a heavy weight building up behind her.

It felt like gravity was pushing her forward, and it seemed like the room was slowly turning where she stood. The weight behind her body was forcing her to move forward, and more toward the mirror.

Christine also heard whispering, and a ton of noise began to build up in front of her. She almost screamed as her face touched the glass, but she didn't make a sound.

She thought the weight behind her would crush her, or smash her up against all of the guilt she had acquired. Christine slipped through the mirror instead, and her body was carried quickly through some sort of portal.

She finally screamed as loud as she could, because her body started travelling faster than it ever had before. She was afraid that she was going to run into a million different things, but the trail she was on carried her safely through.

It felt like she was suddenly on a rollercoaster ride through a purple themed hell. Christine was quickly ripped out of one dimension, and roughly brought through to the next. She thought that she was going to choke when her body came to a sudden stop, but she survived that ordeal as well.

The woman tried to catch her breath, but the adrenaline rush that she felt wouldn't cease. Her body appeared right behind a woman with dream-like hair.

Christine noticed the glow of it, and she tried to settle down from all the fear.

Clea could suddenly hear Christine Palmer breathing. She was looking at her father, until someone unexpectedly appeared behind her back.

Stephen's "acquaintance" had come back to haunt her. She even had the nerve to show up right there, right in front of all her people. They were discussing a course of action against her mother Umar.

Her mother was currently stuck in a hole somewhere, and very suppressed beneath a spell. Clea thought that she had put an end to Umar, but her wicked behavior still had a strong reach.

Clea was finally discussing it with the others, but all of a sudden she stopped talking. She kept listening to the sounds of that... pathetic woman breathing behind her.

Christine's heart was calming down, and she started drawing in slower breaths. Clea was in a bit of disbelief.

...

"I'd like to speak to you."

"Speak then."

...

Go on. Speak. Clea turned around quickly, and Christine gasped back another startled breath. Clea Strange was a powerful woman. Christine could see it, and she felt it.

"Well, uhh.."

She wanted to talk to her, and somehow tell her that she was on her side. Christine wasn't interested in being seen as Stephen's "other woman", and she definitely didn't like the idea of being seen as some homewrecker.

She cared about Stephen Strange, and she really wanted to be with him, back in the day. He was an adorable person once all the ice within him had been chipped away. Christine still believed in that, but she couldn't pursue him any longer.

It was a matter of self respect, and she didn't believe that Clea saw any of that in her. Christine understood that Stephen's wife had the situation all wrong, and so...

She was there to clear it up. Sorta. Christine felt a panic rise up from her feet yet again, and she fumbled a bit when she finally spoke.

"I was hoping to speak to you, alone..."

Uhhhhh... her panic attack continued, because the woman in front her appeared to be seething. Clea couldn't believe what she heard. She thought that the statement Christine made was ridiculous, and off putting.

It rubbed her the wrong way right off the bat, and she asked everyone in the room to leave. Clea even dismissed her own father.

It took a while for the room to clear. Christine kept her focus on one of Clea's hands. She moved with grace, but it was obvious that she was angry.

Clea was fighting something. She didn't want to be alone in that room with Christine Palmer at all. Clea took a moment to finally give Stephen's acquaintance her full attention.

"Did you know that my enemies want me to destroy you?"

She could do it right there in that room. Clea thought about it in that moment. Actually, she thought about it all the time. Christine kept pretty quiet as the others left the room, but she remained determined to speak to Stephen's wife.

Christine had convinced herself that Clea wouldn't hurt her, but the look on her face started raising up some serious doubt.
