No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1

Chapter 64: Headspace (Part 4)

Years ago, Ezekiel named his white suit "Zephyr". It helped him escape all the madness, and it kept his soul at ease.

In that moment, Bucky Barnes continued to talk to the people around him, while "Zephyr" recieved several notifications. Ezekiel looked at them within the armor, and his face slipped into a frown.

The armor wasn't technically malfunctioning, but it seemed...

"Infected" was the only word that came to his busy mind. Ezekiel became a bit frustrated. He read several more updates on the equipment around him that kept him safe.

He was unable to determine where Tony went and the scans that he initiated came to a sudden stop. Ezekiel started scanning the traitors from S.H.I.E.L.D. and getting a clear view of some of their weapons.

Bucky had a gun beneath his left arm.. Natasha had a total of three. She had one on each hip and another one attached to her leg.

Ezekiel really freaked out when his suit indicated that it needed to power down. He took a step backward, and Victor's "friendly roommate" started picking up on his odd behavior.

The "White Jackal" was staring at the hands of his armor, and he wasn't engaged in the conversation any longer. Clint Barton was simply observing and he used his teeth to remove the gloves that covered his hands.

It became obvious to the archer that Victor's precious boyfriend was having some sort of issue.

That white suit started opening up. It was cracking open in several sections, because the person inside it was desperately trying to keep it closed. Zephyr was forcing itself to open, and everyone around it could only watch.

Natasha slowly put her hand on one of her guns, and Bucky snapped a sharp look in her direction.

They were not going to attack him. The thought of even trying to accomplish that felt extremely stupid, and Bucky wanted to tell her that right away.

Clint Barton's reaction was similar to Natasha's. He saw the suit opening, so he straightened his posture. The archer readied himself for anything, but he didn't have an arrow to point at Ezekiel's face.

That attitude sort of changed when the baby archer actually saw his face. For some reason, Ezekiel wasn't looking too good. His suit had disassembled, but it was hard to see him through an orange glow.

Bucky tried to watch with interest, and he could tell that Ezekiel had sat down on the ground.

The not-so-winter soldier started thinking that they were put in a pretty peculiar situation. He looked toward his left.

He started really taking in the change of the area that was going on around their little scene. Bucky couldn't see any sign of buildings or technology. He only saw a large expanse of land with trees and rocks.

He did notice four orbs that kinda looked like moons, but he wasn't sure what they actually were.

They could have been planets? Maybe?

Either way, Bucky turned his attention back toward Ezekiel. The three agents from S.H.I.E.L.D. weren't sure how to handle what they were seeing.

They all felt pretty vulnerable.

"Maybe we should relocate. I have a feeling we're going to be here a while."

Bucky took the lead. He was talking about finding some sort of shelter. The temperature around them was warm. Too warm. He thought about that as he looked around.

Bucky didn't wait to hear an answer from anyone either, because an idea had crossed his mind.

Natasha kept quiet. She watched Bucky dig out his cellphone. He tried to call Tony Stark, but the call wouldn't go through. Bucky tried to call all three of those "Vishanti" assholes, but it seemed like his outgoing signal was toast.

Ezekiel's tech was also toast, so Bucky gave a slow sigh. Clint heard what the not-so-winter- soldier suggested, but he was busy looking at the person that was sitting down on the ground.

The "White Jackal's" coloring looked different, and he seemed very fatigued. Clint thought it over, then he approached Victor's precious boyfriend.

"I agree. We need to move you somewhere else. Are you in pain?"

Ezekiel felt threatened, and very out in the open. He could tell that the room had been mysteriously transformed into Hoggoth's realm, but that didn't mean they were safe.

Ezekiel had his eyes closed. He didn't want to open them, or see the S.H.I.E.L.D. traitors ever again.

He felt very betrayed by them, because he tried as hard as he could to become part of their team. Ezekiel recognized that he was treated very differently right away, and his goal was never accomplished.

Now they hunted him, and paraded someone around that had conciously commited far more sins than he ever did.

Ezekiel held a glare when he opened his eyes, because he saw the ultimate hypocrite and celebrated S.H.I.E.L.D. member, Natasha Romanov...

He was in pain, and it was intruding. Ezekiel felt some sort of sick twisting around his bones and his damaged soul. He changed his focus back to Victor's roommate tho, and he quietly mentioned that he could walk.

He would walk, because he didn't need help from any of them.
