No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1
Chapter 65: Headspace (Part 5)
Bucky and the others found a section of land that seemed somewhat "secure".
It had good coverage above them, thanks to some trees and large rocks. But, it also gave them enough room to comfortably separate.
Ezekiel kept to himself. He remained on his own side of the mini-cavern, while Team S.H.I.E.L.D. huddled up over on the other.
Their weapons were minimal, but Bucky wasn't worried about that. He wanted to congratulate Natasha on the terrible move she almost made for her weapon, but he didn't.
Bucky Barnes understood who the real culprit was in the situation, so he kept his sights set up
above the horizon.
The not-so-winter-soldier also noted Clint's bizarre behavior. The archer became mute overnight, and he kept looking away whenever Victor's significant other would move or look around..
Ezekiel was their former teammate, so shit was officially awkward.
Bucky did a quick mental recap of events. Ezekiel disappeared after he was injured, and Victor lost his mind. Clint Barton started living with Victor, and now everything relating to that seemed weird.
Ezekiel obviously returned, but he was still in pretty bad shape. Now? Clint Barton had
miraculously become a silent person overnight, and everyone in the area was brooding.
Ahhhh... it felt like a dysfunctional puzzle started finally coming together. Bucky grinned a little
about it, but then he moved on. He looked over at the real leader. They couldn't just stay home
together, no...
They had to listen to Steve and show up early. Bucky and Natasha just had to leave home and get themselves in yet another mess.
Bucky was tired. He sighed, then he started looking up toward the bright red clouds yet again.
The peculiar change to the sparring room was just as odd as the person that was in control of it.
"I'm going to talk to Tony."
Bucky broke the silence. He stood up slowly, and he fixed the clothes that he had around his waist.
Clint Barton asked if he could go with him. He said that they didn't know how long they were
going to be stuck there, and that he needed to look around.
Ezekiel looked in his direction. The archer was talking about finding a food source, and understanding the area. He was telling all of that to Bucky, but it seemed like he wanted to go alone.
It was an awkward conversation for both Bucky Barnes and Clint Barton. They both had something else to discuss, but ...
"You're idea makes sense. Finding a food source is a good idea. I'll go with you."
Bucky Barnes could stay behind. Ezekiel needed to move. He was sitting down in the shelter that they found, but the Jackal wanted to keep his body going.
He also wanted to continue trying to use his suit, so it could potentially repair itself.
The archer gave a short gasp. He kinda didn't want Ezekiel going anywhere, I mean...
Clint looked pretty surprised. He actually wanted to distance himself from Ezekiel, and the others. Victor's precious boyfriend going with him ruined that plan, and the archer didn't want it to happen.
"You're sick. You should rest."
"I'm not sick. It's complicated..."
That was the only response Ezekiel had for his current state. He tried to stand up and go, regardless of what anyone had to say.
He planned to head out there with Victor's friendly roommate, and that was final. Ezekiel climbed his way up, but that's as far as he got.
The baby archer watched him slip back down to the ground. It became obvious that he wasn't going anywhere, so...
Bucky left their little safe zone. He took off on the group and he started hunting around for some prissy rich prick.
Natasha became amused. She watched Bucky leave the space, but she said nothing about it. The Widow was only contemplating the change of events, but she continued glaring over in Ezekiel's direction.
