No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1

Chapter 74: Red Lights (Part 4)

Tony and Steve were observing Wade Wilson. He left the temple when he felt ready to do so, and his location was immediately picked up by Ezekiel Stane.

The mercenary was simply standing at the bottom of the temple steps. He did a few cartwheels as he waited.

"I can already feel him."

Steve Rogers heard the comment and he arched a brow. Deadpool was such a loon. His behavior was entertaining, but the blonde knew that Ezekiel wasn't playing games.

He was heading straight for the mercenary that almost took his life and Deadpool reacted to seeing his white suit.

Wade quickly moved his head toward the right. He was told about Ezekiel's need for vengeance, and the mercenary was happy to indulge.

He didn't like being held captive by the "Sorcerer Supreme" tho, but he judged his cards carefully on that play. He didn't see an encounter with Stephen Strange going in his favor, so why not entertain the not-so-dead brat?

He failed at killing Ezekiel, and he could somehow feel him heading in his direction. Wade wasn't interested in any other crybaby that was in the S.H.I.E.L.D. bunch.

Only Obadiah's "silver dollar". He kept watching as the white suit flew in his direction. It was dead ahead, so he kept his focus on that.

It felt like some sort of missile was heading straight for him.

Uhh...

...

Deadpool sucked in a short breath. He saw Ezekiel slice through the air, and it sparked a budding anxiety that Wade didn't want to shake.

Now he saw him cut a path straight for him, and his gigantic heart just about collapsed. Wade closed his eyes at the wrong moment, because the two of them seemed to collide again.

Ezekiel dumped Bucky and Natasha off in front of Steve and Tony. He didn't need them yet, and he was flying too quickly to drop them off gracefully.

The Jackal barely noticed how they hit the ground, but the armor that he gave them kept them safe, so...

No crying in battle, and Ezekiel wasn't going to listen to them complain about it anyways. He went forward with the intent of removing Wade Wilson's head, and Steve watched all the violence begin.

He tried not to look at first, but it helped him come to a bitter understanding.

...

"Is that how you treat your teammates?"

Steve obviously wasn't impressed. His voice broke through all the commotion, and his words caused a few people to stop moving.

Ezekiel was one of them. He looked back at Steve for just a moment. Yes, that was how he treated people thatusedto be his teammates. They made a truce, but that didn't mean he couldn't toss them aside when they held too much weight.

The Jackal almost told Steve that, but he returned his focus back to Wade Wilson. The mercenary was trying to pry one of his filthy hands into Ezekiel's armor.

The Jackal wouldn't get close to him at that point, but that was his goal.

The other person that froze up was Bucky Barnes. He heard what Steve said, and he looked over at his friend. Steve was there in the flesh, finally...

His diva lover, Tony, was naturally beside him. Double trouble.

The not-so-winter-soldier wasn't concerned about being tossed to the ground like a bag of trash. Nah. He didn't think anything of it, because Ezekiel picked a fight with Deadpool straight away.

Bucky was tired, moody and hungry. He decided to hold the space right there on the ground and watch the show. Steve's comment brought him out of it, in a sense, because he wondered what he knew.

What a thing to wonder about...

Bucky felt a little dumb for a moment there, so he continued watching Ezekiel's duel carry on with the crazy one. Bucky Barnes thought that Wade Wilson was a friggen wacko. He was insane.

He seemed pretty insane in that moment, when he tried to pull Ezekiel toward him. Deadpool planned to give his suit some sort of kiss. He kept making bizarre gestures.

Ezekiel took that moment to pin him down. His suit was malfunctioning earlier, so Bucky began to wonder what he was doing. None of it seemed very real, or something. Bucky felt distracted.

He felt very distracted when Tony started talking. The "other brunette" said something beneath his glowy orange suit, and it made Ezekiel look up again.

Tony said something about Deadpool being the best "host" to take the waste. Wait. What? Bucky gasped. Tony started helping. Hold on.

Ezekiel related shit always seemed to play out in riddles...

They were talking about purging what was ailing the suit. Deadpool kept talking about being pretty turned on, but Ezekiel clearly wasn't listening to a word that he said.

The Jackal was on a mission. He started "dispensing" all the damage that he had caused to his own body. It was distrupting his suit, and he wanted to turn that into Deadpool's problem.

Bucky was witnessing some sort of... freaky space shit. He remained on the ground as he watched, and he kept cringing the entire time.
