No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1

Chapter 76: Red Lights (Part 6)

The baby sorcerer noticed that the weight of the cloak of levitation was still on his shoulders.

He suddenly remembered every word that his older brother said to him. Victor slowly glanced over at Stephen.

He was dealing with Deadpool at that point. Some sort of negotiation was being worked out amongst the group, or something. Victor didn't really understand what was happening, and he wasn't technically alone.

"Can some of us head back to the S.H.I.E.L.D. base now?"

Hello? Clint Barton really wanted to leave, but he didn't think that Victor Strange was present enough to hear him, or make that happen.

He STILL wasn't interested in the Ezekiel parade like all the others. He did have another question or two for their ruthless "teammate", but the archer knew that it wasn't the right time.

He decided to wait it out, AGAIN, and speak to Victor's precious boyfriend sometime later. In the meantime, he wanted to friggen leave.

Clint took the opportunity to ask about it, and Victor seemed kinda startled. He didn't expect anyone to speak to him.

"That.."

That was possible, but Victor kinda forgot where he was for a moment. He had to take a second. He noticed Clint's bothered posture. He seemed annoyed. Over it.

Victor swallowed down a couple thoughts, then he glanced over toward his left.

Ezekiel was getting a lecture. It was obvious. A Steve Rogers lecture about teamwork and friendship was good for him. Victor figured out one of Ezekiel's secrets pretty quickly.

He admired Steve, and that was the only reason why he was listening to him in that moment.

...

"Wow."

...

Clint Barton rolled his baby archer eyes and he stepped off once again toward Natasha and Bucky. He wondered if they could somehow protest what was happening, once again.

I meannnnnn...

The baby archer was still in a terrible mood. He made sure that he put a ton of distance between himself and everyone else. He STILL didn't care about what was happening, he STILL didn't care about Ezekiel, and he STILL wanted to GO HOME.

Oh wait, once again, what home? The apartment he shared with Victor might as well get torched to the ground. Clint thought about all his stuff that he still had there...

Victor suddenly realized what happened. He kinda drifted off there for a sec, and the archer was taking off by the time he returned to his question.

He felt awful. Victor froze up where he stood. He still felt awful and awkward for taking an eternity to answer his text messages, if he answered at all. He tried to keep up and respond.

That friendly roommate anxiety shit was beginning to pile up on him, once again. The guilt pile was too friggen thick at that point.

So thick, Victor could have choked.
