No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1

Chapter 80: Red Lights (Part 10)

Natasha Romanov wasn't happy to see Ezekiel Stane suddenly leave, but she kept her opinion on that to herself.

She looked down toward Bucky Barnes when he asked her for some assistance. He had been laying down for far too long, so the not-so-winter soldier needed some help getting to his feet.

Natasha extended her hand. Bucky grabbed ahold of it, and the armor that Ezekiel gave them disappeared as well. It vanished entirely, and Bucky started up at the Widow's actual hand.

Steve was still there, and so was Tony. Victor and Stephen were there as well, but it seemed like they were leaving.

Well, it felt like they were leaving. The brothers were talking off toward the side of the group, and it seemed serious.

Bucky Barnes watched Victor Strange hug his older brother. Aww. How sweet.

He wondered how the baby Strange was actually handling Ezekiel disappearing on him again. He took off with the crazy one, so...

...

Uhhmaaa...

Truthfully, Victor was only thinking about how he put himself in a bit of a pickle. He wanted to spend as much time with his brother as he possibly could, but...

That friendly roommate thing was making him super nervous. Victor knew that the portal "Agent" Clint Barton traveled through took him directly to their apartment.

He didn't want to rush a goodbye with Stephen, but Victor felt like he had to go. His siblings didn't really know about what happened between him and some, crime lord. Victor hadn't told anyone that it came to an end at that point..

...

Victor tried to shake off the first intruding thought that suddenly entered his head. Ezekiel made up his mind. He made things very clear, and now he took off with Wade Wilson.

Victor was trying to process that, and he felt like he had to fix things with his friendly ex-roommate. The baby Strange was very conflicted, but he also felt like he needed to leave.

His brother made the goal easier to accomplish. It seemed like Stephen somehow understood. He always understood..

He helped Victor form a portal and eventually vacate the War Room. It took him directly to the narrow hallway in front of the apartment. He looked at the door, and then he noticed the person standing beside it.

His friendly roommate was beside the door. He looked up when Victor appeared, then a deep silence settled in.

Uhhmmaaa... Victor kinda froze up. A peculiar thought crossed his mind. Victor thought his friendly roommate looked, normal. His clothes seemed pretty comfortable. He just glanced up at Victor, and that was it.

Barton wanted to confront him, and demand some answers about what EZEKIEL had done and said.

The body-snatching shit that occurred days ago needed to come to an end, but the thought sorta faded after Victor randomly showed up.

The baby archer started feeling pretty stupid again. I mean, he wasn't sure why he was back at the apartment in the first place. He had plenty of time to leave, but...

"Did you lose your key?"

Victor had to ask. Clint didn't enter the apartment at all. He was leaning against the wall, and it was clear that he didn't go in.

Victor became curious about that, and he had to do something about all the silence. He was used to silence with Ezekiel, but his friendly roommate didn't seem like the type.

"I have it. I just..."

He wasn't sure about going in. The baby bird almost admitted that, but he stopped talking where he stood. He felt a number of things in that moment.

Victor always seemed preoccupied with something or someone else, so he kept looking at one of the other doors.

The baby Strange noticed that his friendly roommate wasn't looking at him. Victor also noticed that the entire space around them seemed silent. Not much was going on around the rest of the building?

Victor started wondering about that, so he looked pretty distracted.

The baby archer noticed. He started thinking about certain questions that he wanted to ask before, but he went back to his original plan.

Barton planned on confronting Victor. Ezekiel only wanted to use him, and he had a feeling that Victor knew all along. It wasn't an easy conversation, so nothing really moved.

The door wasn't even locked. Victor opened it with ease, and he looked back over at his friendly roommate. He seemed quieter than usual, so Victor feared the worse.

The baby sorcerer walked into the space that they shared. The walls didn't seem the same as he looked them over. The color didn't seem right, but Victor wasn't sure.

He heard the door slowly close behind him. His friendly roommate actually followed the baby sorcerer in, so Victor turned around and finally faced him.
