No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1
Chapter 83: Oxygen (Part 3)
Wade Wilson was surprised to suddenly find himself standing in the middle of his living room. Ezekiel had miraculously transported them to one of his hiding places, and ...
Deadpool looked toward his right. One of his friends was currently crashed out on the couch, and the place looked like a bomb had dropped.
Ezekiel started glancing around the space as well. The room was littered with things that looked like trash, pizza boxes, magazines and peculiar looking drawings.
"HEY. Nap time's over, you gotta go."
Wade started talking to the random person that was asleep on the couch. The TV was playing as loud as it could get, so the man didn't hear what the mercenary said.
It took some time, but Wade got the guy to open his eyes. He seemed intoxicated, or something. The man started looking up at the white suit that was standing beside Deadpool.
He seemed terrified. The man asked if Wade located "RoboCop", but Ezekiel didn't understand the reference. His armor was named "Zephyr", but he didn't feel like explaining that or responding in any way.
Ezekiel was very picky about who could see his actual body. He remained in his armor, and he completely ignored the man who was being told to leave.
Deadpool had his hands full for the moment, so Ezekiel continued looking around. His eyes stopped at something that was across the room. He noticed a wall that was clearly decorated with Wade's "research"...
Ezekiel used his technology to zoom in on what covered the wall. He saw a photograph of his dead father, and his mother.
He could tell she was shopping, in France. Ezekiel felt nothing when he stared at her picture. He only reminded himself why they never spoke. In his opinion, her only accomplishment was keeping Louis Vuitton in business.
He couldn't remember having a single conversation with her that held any meaning, so...
The Jackal moved on. He saw a photograph of Victor Strange, and it temporarily took him down memory lane. Seeing that picture in that moment gave Ezekiel a bit more context about how long Deadpool had been monitoring him. Victor looked, happy. His smile got to Ezekiel, so he turned himself away from it.
"I forgot all about that guy. I think he's been staying here for months."
Deadpool returned. The mercenary spoke, and Ezekiel started staring at the dull brown couch. He was already at a point where he felt closed off from all the others.
He left his suit on, even though they were alone. They were, alone? He suddenly realized what he had done. Ezekiel wasn't thinking straight, and there he was with Wade Wilson.
"You ok in there?"...
Wade wasn't sure what was happening. Ezekiel seemed frozen. The truth was, he brought the two of them to Wade's home because he felt like reaching out to someone. Ezekiel needed to purge Victor's actions from his mind.
He could feel where he was in that moment, and it hurt his broken soul...
For a long while, the Jackal had been getting guidance and help from someone other than Steve Rogers. Someone else intervened and kept him in check long before "Captain America" came into the picture.
Ezekiel normally sought out help from a man named Charles Xavier. He always answered his call, but...
...
"Wanna know why I didn't kill you?"
...
Ezekiel barely moved. He heard Wade say something else. He asked him a question, but that armor kept covering his skin.
The reality he orchestrated was bringing him down to a pretty low point, so he didn't want to speak or remove his suit for anyone.
He didn't feel ready for that, but he looked over in Deadpool's direction. He heard the question and he gave it some thought.
