No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1

Chapter 85: Oxygen (Part 5)

Some hot blonde didn't seem "mad" about what happened with Ezekiel, but Tony could tell Steve was in a bad mood.

They left the S.H.I.E.L.D. base together, and Tony watched Steve order the two of them some food. It took Steve a while to get their sandwich orders together, and he paid for it with cash.

Tony watched his honey blonde hands. Steve counted out the cash. He left a big tip.

Everything that was going on in that moment amused Tony. He kept chewing on the right side of his lip as Steve thanked the employee.

Maybe, he wasn't moody because of Ezekiel Stane. The brunette began to wonder if Bucky's behavior was getting under Steve's skin.

The sandwich shop was just outside their apartment building. Tony followed along beside Steve as they ventured up. He could tell the soldier-boy was thinking.

Steve was contemplating a few things. He checked the mail before they reached the elevator and he looked over at Tony several times.

He noticed this, smirk. Tony had been holding onto that smirk for hours, and it was beginning to get to Steve.

Luckily for him, he was blessed with a lot more patience, so he breezed his way to the apartment with ease.

Tony couldn't take all the thinking. Steve gave him a few more seconds. He knew the brunette was bound to say something...

"That sucks about Stephen, doesn't it?"

Dr. Wizard-Sorcerer-Pizza-Supreme was going to stay in the Dark Dimension with his precious wifey. For Tony, that meant Stephen's Tinkerbell Princess had finally won the war against him.

They used to feud over Stephen, back in the day. Now the wizard was all grown up...

Steve unlocked the door to the apartment. Tony noticed where his eyes went for just a second. Steve looked over towards Bucky's apartment before he gave a response about Stephen.

HAH. Tony LOL'd again as soon as he saw Steve's face.

"He needs to be with his family."

Steve didn't see that as a bad thing. He entered the apartment that he shared with Tony and he put his keys in a bowl that was beside the door.

Tony followed his lead. He entered the space shortly after Steve, then he removed his shoes. Those domestic moments always amused Tony as well. He watched Steve take the food over toward the kitchen.

Steve checked the time. It seemed like it was time for Tony to drop the casual conversation about Stephen Strange. The blonde could tell Tony was dodging the real conversation, but only for a moment.

"So, what message did you give Bucky?"

That smirk emerged again. Steve was setting the table and getting ready to organize all the food. The blonde smiled as well. Tony's question warmed him up where he stood, so Steve tried not to look.

"You know what the message was."

...

"I do? Does it have something to do with Natasha?"

...

Tony was acting dumb on purpose. It was bringing Steve out of his mood, but the blonde didn't want that to happen. He focused on Tony's neck for a moment, then he thought about what it all meant.

Steve wanted to swim in his thoughts about Bucky's behavior for a little bit longer, but Tony was making it extremely difficult.

Steve wanted to make the message even clearer. He wanted Bucky to be there in that moment, so he could see.
