No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1
Chapter 86: Oxygen (Part 6)
Victor had another question for his friendly roommate, but he wasn't sure if it was a good time to ask. He kept looking at him tho, and he noticed the baby bird seemed kinda shy.
It was cute and growing on him. Victor told himself that he was extremely fucked up. He didn't say any of that out loud of course, but he was very aware of what he was doing...
He told his friendly roommate that he shouldn't have been with Ezekiel, and he meant that. Victor always believed their relationship was doomed from the start. He cared about that crime lord anyway, but...
"Why did you start living here?"
The question finally came to life. The baby archer heard what Victor said. His awkward demeanor carried on, and he started looking back toward the door again. Uh, why did he start living there?
"Your sister asked me, if I would. I said that I'd think about it, and.."
And, so he did. The archer gave a simple shrug. He tried to make it seem as if it wasn't a big deal. It wasn't. He hated living at the S.H.I.E.L.D. base, so..
Clint Barton cleared his throat a bit. Victor had a small smile going on while their conversation carried on. The baby archer's response made him smile a little more. Oh. So, that's why you moved in?..
Interesting. Victor started thinking there was a little more to it than that. He stepped a bit closer to him and he brought his hands up to that cute face.
Victor felt in control where he was, and it felt like things would be ok if he gave his friendly roommate a kiss. His instincts were correct on that one, because S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Clint Barton didn't pull away.
He froze up a little, but he allowed Victor's lips to touch his own. It was unexpected, but wanted. The baby bird had wanted to feel something like that with Victor for a while, but he wasn't going to admit it to anyone.
He didn't have to. The other people that were involved already knew. Ezekiel knew long before anyone else, and he did what he could to make it a reality.
Victor Strange started feeling like he was indulging a bit too much. His friendly roommate's face was burning up, but the baby sorcerer wouldn't quit.
The kissing going on was all slow, and cute.
It felt good, and Victor seemed very present where he stood. "Agent" Clint Barton was originally leaning back against one of the walls, but Victor's advance had him pressed up against it even more.
The baby Strange was all pressed up against him as well, so the archer seemed a bit nervous.
Whoa. Too forward. Sloooowwww it down.
Victor's mind always got the better of him. He knew that he had to work on that if he was going to be of any use to his family. His thoughts suddenly bombarded him, and all of that gentle kissing had subsided.
The baby sorcerer gave a soft laugh. I mean, he just attacked his friendly roommate. Agent Barton seemed pretty flustered. He didn't say anything after Victor's advance came to an end, but his chest started rising up quite a bit.
He was taking in a few deep breaths. He didn't really expect the behavior, so he was processing.
The baby bird kept looking at Victor's shirt. It was just a plain t-shirt. Dark. Faded orange. He wasn't sure what pulled Victor's behavior in that direction, but...
The "field agent" wanted the attention to continue. He wasn't sure if Victor was actually seeing him tho. He loved Ezekiel, and Clint Barton knew that from the start. Those two had built up quite a relationship, so..
The conversation wasn't done. It was just temporarily postponed because of, uhh..
"You still didn't explain why you moved in here. My sister isn't that convincing."
That was a lie. Victor knew more than anyone that his older sister always got what she wanted. She was worse than Stephen, but nice about it.
Victor returned to his question, because his flustered roommate wasn't saying anything to him. He didn't want to scare him away, but obviously there was something that needed to be acknowledged.
The answer was pretty simple. Victor's sister mentioned he was in a low place, so the baby archer wanted to help. He blamed Ezekiel for that, but who cares what he thinks? Fury's precious pet got away with everything, and Victor Strange wasn't fooling anyone...
"I didn't want you feeling ditched.."
That was how someone else handled things. Barton wasn't in the mood to talk about it, or to elaborate. He preferred to keep Victor's smug ex-boyfriend out of his thoughts as much as possible.
He acknowledged Victor's reaction tho. The baby sorcerer seemed surprised with what he said. They were still standing pretty close. The archer wanted them to stand even closer, and drop the subject entirely.
What he said did some damage. It bruised Victor's ego up a little, but not in the same way that his heart had been bruised before. It felt like he was finally hit with the truth, or something.
Victor pressed some of his weight back toward his friendly roommate again, and that quiet kissing between them slowly continued.
