No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1
Chapter 91: My Sweet Summer (Part 1)
"He said that I just do this, and then I'm supposed to do that. I think."
Wade Wilson was wearing a black utility belt of sorts, and he kept digging around one of the pockets. Ezekiel watched him eventually un-earth a contraption that was given to him by Tony Stark.
The mercenary spoke out his actions. He even explained how he was supposed to operate the buttons. The tiny machine began to glow in his hand after he went through the motions.
Tony's famous "nano-tech" got to work on Wade. Ezekiel watched the technology cover the red and black suit that covered his skin, then it suddenly disappeared.
It dissolved into the material. Hmm...
Wade became distracted with what the technology was doing, but Ezekiel didn't seem very impressed. He was onto Tony's agenda hours ago, but all of that was...
It was, fine. All of it.
"I haven't checked out the results yet. I wasn't sure how.."
Deadpool was a talker. Ezekiel thought of that as the mercenary kept it going. Wade mentioned feeling freaked out. He also said that he might cry like a "baby" if Tony's experiment worked.
"Do you actually grasp why he gave you his technology?"
Ezekiel's tone was cruel. Borderline, rude. Wade was staring at the black gloves that covered his hands when he spoke. He heard the snobby question. Did he actually grasp why Tony Stark gave him some nano-tech?
Well...
"He gave it to me, because he is a nice person. It has nothing to do with YOU becoming all friendly, with me."
Wade smiled beneath his mask. He briefly wondered if Starknado was secretly psychic. The mercenary watched Ezekiel as he almost laughed. He seemed amused once again, and it made Deadpool feel stuff...
The mercenary focused on his gloves again. He brought his left hand over toward his right, and then he removed the material that covered his skin.
Ezekiel didn't say anything. He quietly stared at Wade's exposed hand for a sec. The nano-technology produced a very believable illusion.
Deadpool's hand seemed normal. His skin was clear from the constant regrowth of cancer.
Wade's speed increased as he removed the second glove. It was almost as good as Christmas for him, but...
The vibe changed in the room when the mercenary removed his mask. Ezekiel swallowed down a thought or two when he watched Wade remove the material from his face.
His hair was there. Brown. Messy. Wade's face was...
It looked normal, just as it was before. The Jackal knew how his face was supposed to look after Wade tried to take his life. Ezekiel looked into it. He looked into, him.
It was an interesting moment between them. The mercenary went to see how he looked. He said something about being afraid to see himself. Wade also said he felt like "Cinderella".
"I don't know what that means."
The expression he heard seemed foreign. Ezekiel didn't trouble over it either. He glanced around the living room again while Wade was away.
His mind briefly wandered back over toward Manhattan. Victor Strange was moving on, just like that. The notion started bringing down Ezekiel's mood.
He wanted to move on like that as well. Wade's voice brought him out of it. The mercenary seemed happy when he returned, but he acknowledged that it was an illusion. Tony's illusion of a gift seemed to make Wade shine even brighter.
Ezekiel noticed. He also saw a smile that wasn't covered up with a mask. Victor's behavior filled his mind again, and he found himself stepping closer. Closer to Wade, and closer to...
Maybe he wanted to be a bit closer to it. The smile. The illusion. Ezekiel was trying to make sense of his own behavior.
Wade asked him again if he was hungry. The mercenary watched the "Jackal" form a smile of his own. He seemed amused.
Deadpool was feeling good because of the gift. He felt good enough to pull Ezekiel toward him, like before. He almost kissed him last time, but the mask was in the way.
The mercenary gave it another shot, and his plan succeeded.
There wasn't any resistance going on between them, so Wade kept it going.
