No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1
Chapter 95: My Sweet Summer (Part 5)
Steve Rogers was given permission to enter the upper loft of the Sanctum Sanctorum. He opened the door slowly and he gave Victor Strange a friendly smile.
Victor was sitting at a desk that once belonged to his older brother Stephen. Victor had used it off and on, before the real Sorcerer Supreme decided to live in the Dark Dimension.
"Hello Vic, I won't be long."
Steve was always cordial and kind. Victor thought about that as he set a pen down on an old tablet. He was responding to a note that he had received.
His brother sent him a message from the Dark.
Steve Rogers asked Victor how he was doing. The "baby" sorcerer said he was doing well. Well, for whatever it was worth, he felt well.
Victor also had a text message from Clint Barton to respond to. His friendly roommate had a different title at that point. They decided to try out a relationship and the apartment felt Ezekiel free.
Victor never felt his energy again and he even went outside the apartment. He actually went outon quite a few dates. They did simple stuff around Manhattan, and Victor felt better. There wasn't any death involved, or any thought about an impending doom.
Clint Barton kept things simple.
"You might be getting called in soon. I wanted to talk to you about it first, and see where you're at."
There were some things that Steve needed to see, hear and confirm with his own eyes and ears before things could move forward.
Victor became a little unsettled for a second there. He heard what Steve said, and it made him glance back down at the pen he had set aside.
Called in? For…. what, and for who?
A crime lord's name suddenly entered Victor's mind. He drew in a slow breath and tried to behave just as he did when Steve first arrived.
"I'm going to have someone else organize the team, so you might be brought in."
Steve shared some additional information and Victor's mouth formed a small smile. He wanted to retrieve his cellphone out of the drawer and respond to the thoughtful message he received from someone that wasn't a crime lord.
Responding helped him forget..
"Well, you guys know where to find me. Mystic Consultant here, at your service."
Victor's smile strengthened, just as Steve crossed his arms.
