No-One But You (The Mystic Consultant) - Part 1
Chapter 96: My Sweet Summer (Part 6)
"Her name is, wait hold on.."
Pepper Potts checked her notes. She was informing her boss that someone wanted to speak to him.
The person was bossy, and blonde. She knew that Tony had a soft spot for blondes, so….
Plus, Pepper had been working hard for several weeks. She spent most of her time arranging the Stark Expo and finalizing everything for Tony's side of the "gig".
She was annoyed and moody. Tony could tell, but he didn't let any of that dim his shine.
"Christine Everhart, from Vanity Fair."
"Vanity Fair?"
"Yes. She said she is a new reporter for Vanity Fair."
Pepper's tone was a clear indication of how annoyed she was. In her opinion, Vanity Fair was just some bimbo fashion magazine.
The reporter specifically asked to talk to Tony about what he had going on. Pepper decided to tell Tony what the woman actually said.
"She told me that she wanted to write about the Stark Spectacle."
"She really said that?"
"Yes."
Pepper didn't have time to lie and she'd rather drop the subject. Tony was standing on the left hand side of a large stage. There were all sorts of crew members working on the lighting.
Tony was fixated on that until Pepper brought him the news about the reporter lady. He remembered her name.
Christine Everhart tried to interview him when his father retired. Tony was busy back then and he felt too busy in that moment.
"You can tell her that I'm allergic to Vanity Fair."
Tony wasn't sure how the popular magazine would serve his "spectacle", and there always seemed to be some other agenda going on when it came to that reporter. Pepper seemed happy with his response. She turned away quickly and left the stage.
Tony watched her walk away, then he glanced over toward his left. He looked out at where the crowd would be in a day or two.
Coincidentally, Steve said the crew would be ready to go in a day or two. The summer boy's timing was perfect, as expected.
Tony Stark pondered that for a little while longer, then he put his focus back up toward the guys that were working on the lighting.
