Chapter 100: My Sweet Summer (Part 10)

Victor Strange made it home to the apartment in Manhattan, and he knew his "friendly roommate" got there before him. Clint Barton returned home as soon as the meeting was over. He cooked up some food, and he put the TV on.

The baby archer didn't mind the noise. He absently watched what was on the screen as Victor made his way around the apartment. Steve Rogers went to the Sanctorum and spoke to him several days ago. Victor was aware of the meeting that took place that day.

The baby sorcerer was also aware that he wasn't needed at that point. Steve told him the rest of the group had to deliberate first. Victor already had his mind made up, so…

"So? How did it go?"

They said hello to one another when Victor entered the kitchen. Clint was eating, but he gave him a warm smile.

How did it go? He absolutely hated Ezekiel. The baby archer wasn't sure how to answer the question. Victor watched his hands. Barton wiped them off on a towel, then he took a few steps in Victor's direction. The baby archer knew about Steve visiting the Sanctorum.

He didn't know Victor's decision after the fact. He wanted to know how he felt, because the oh-so-wonderful Ezekiel Stane planned to bring Victor in…

Their wonderful team "leader" even felt the need to place Victor dead center during the event. Victor's smug EX-whatever just did as he pleased, and the thought of a reunion between them truly nagged. Clint forgot to answer. He kept thinking about, stuff..

Victor kept looking at him. He stared at his face, then his clothes. That friendly field agent roommate boyfriend was cute. Nice to look at, but he was being too quiet. The baby sorcerer wanted to know what the plan was. He touched the archer's arm, then the two started standing close.

"The positions for the team were set. It's pretty standard, but the ringleader wants you in the middle of the crowd."

The circus ringleader. That's what the baby archer really wanted to say. He didn't want Ezekiel's name being uttered in the apartment.

It wasn't a jealous boundary thing, or anything like that, it was just….

Victor and Clint had never set any sort of rule, but the archer wanted to kick Ezekiel in the throat.

"Ok. I will be there, I can do that."

The baby sorcerer glanced over at the food. He could always tell when a certain crime-lord was flooding someone's mind. The baby archer didn't say much after that. His behavior started getting more affectionate if some crime-lord was on his mind. Victor closed his eyes, because the archer started touching his arm and face.

They got all close. Victor wanted to fool around with him for what seemed like the millionth time. They committed to the relationship stuff for a few months, so they were hooking up all the time.

Before anything like that went down tho, Victor figured he better clarify his intention. He wanted his decision to join in to be understood and crystal clear.

"I only want to go, for Tony. Steve told me that we will be protecting him."

Victor Strange adored Tony Stark. They first met back when he was like, fifteen, or whatever… The baby Strange knew more than most about him and he was very on board with keeping Tony safe.

"Agent" Clint Barton reflected on what he heard from Victor. He only wanted to go, for Tony? Right. ok. The baby archer heard what was said and slowly gave a nod as his response. He also stopped spacing out for a second. Barton started getting into touching Victor and, well… he got really into some sort of zone.
He didn't know what was in store for the two of them when the "team" eventually assembled, but his soul was still dreading any sort of reunion. The baby archer also had no idea how Victor would behave whenever he saw, what's his face, yet again.

He tried to ignore how he felt, but that shit nagged at his baby-bird soul.
