End of a Millennia & A New Beginning
Niklaus Mikaelson is an Original Hybrid who is the most powerful being in the world, sitting in a place where he & his brother discussed him being a KING and protecting his heir in Hayley's womb. Now the same Mikaelson brothers are thinking of sacrificing themselves for Henry to save him from Hollow.
Despite being unworthy of getting unconditional love from anyone, he is very much grateful for all the love and support he received from each of his family members including Kol (who is most volatile and impulsive as he is). Maybe he was very paranoid and impulsive and arrogant in dealing with his siblings in earlier days, even though he regrets some of the time, he will do all the same things if it saves his family from whatever danger is thrown at them.
Here at the end of his time in this world, where he is going to depart with his dearest elder brother Elijah Mikaelson. Even in death he chooses to come with me and be there for me Always & Forever. Klaus regrets the time he spent away from Henry all those years when she was a kid to protect him. Here again he is leaving his son without any parent without being able to return to protect him again.
His thoughts wander to a certain blonde beauty to whom he is unable to fulfill his promise to be her last love (He is your first Love; I intend to be your Last. However long it takes). I was not expecting her to be here with me after she helped to transfer the Hollow into me by lending her daughters. All the way more shocked to learn that she kept my voice mail all these years. Even in this time of despair, she managed to get me going lighthearted. He was sure she would keep an eye on Henry for me.
Meanwhile, witches on the other side gather to discuss how to manage or avoid the impending disruption in the world due to the imbalance of Nature caused by multiple Originals death and their sire lines.
Only Niklaus sire line was severed, but already Finn, Kol and Elijah sire lines were died down resulting genocide of Vampires death. Even if the Niklaus line is severed, the line will not be able to last long without its origin gone.
Thus, resulting in one standing Original with her sire line Rebekah. They have planned to send Klaus back in time with his current knowledge and trust him to take all the right decision to avoid this genocide. And after tedious searching and viewing of multiple timelines wherever or whenever, all the 3 of the next generation of powerful beings are born (Henry/Lizzie/Josie), which is their failsafe to proceed on this plan.
Even though Klaus changed for good because of his son, he started seeing the reasoning and consequences of his actions when he was with Caroline Forbes. Thus, it is important for Klaus and Caroline to get together.
Turning to his brother Klaus called, "Brother, the time has come"
"It seems brother" says Elijah and stands up facing Klaus. Pointing a white oak to his brother's chest Elijah said, "It's been Glorious ride, Niklaus".
"It's an honor, brother," said Klaus with emotion brimming in his eyes. Both brothers stake each other at the same time and start fading into ashes in the air of New Orleans.
Back in Time
Niklaus wakes up in a bed and immediately on high alert frantically scans the room he was in now. There was a teal two seater sofa a few feet before bed facing the TV unit, to his right is the wardrobe with a full mirror for one door and the other 3 doors are gray patches. At the end of the wardrobe, the path goes to the bathroom with a huge bathtub facing the window.
And in the nightstand to his left, there is a phone which starts ringing. He reaches for the phone and immediately his face morphs into a dumbstruck expression on seeing the name as Greta. He looks into the date in the phone which shows April 2010. He blinks repeatedly and thinks whether he is in Hell, where he would have to live his horrible life repeatedly or if he was really sent back in time after dying.
Again, the phone starts ringing with Greta's name, this time he attends the call, Klaus, I have been trying to reach you says Greta to which he answers, what is the matter, Greta? She responds as, everything is set to body transfer spell. He is thinking of conjuring different types of scenarios which would have resulted in him being here this time, then after a few more seconds of pondering Klaus says Okay, be here in the room in an hour and end the call.
He paces in the room and thinks of whether this is real or purgatory where he was sent to torture or psychological hell designed specifically for him. What happened to Elijah? Is he here too? Or did he find peace? Or all this is just a game someone is playing with him?
Suddenly a blustery wind blows to his face and Ayanna appears before him. He is struck in shock and sees the woman who was fond of all Mikaelson children when they were humans. He is not able to think or form any form of greetings to his elder, who earnestly rubs his cheeks with a fond smile on her face looking at him.
"Niklaus, it's been so long," says Ayanna.
Then he comes out of his stupor and greets his elder with a faint smile of his own & bows, then says "Yes, it is Aunt Ayanna".
After a few seconds of silence Ayanna goes to the sofa and calls for Niklaus to follow her. Ayanna sits in the two-seater Teal sofa and Niklaus stands in front of her with his hands down and looks at her.
He has lots of questions swirling around in his mind and is not sure whether he should ask or must wait for her to explain her presence first.
"I know, you have lots of questions now and I will answer any and all your questions to you once I explain my presence here child" says Ayanna and motions him to sit beside him on the sofa. He nods and sits facing her, waiting for her to start.
She starts, "As you know, you have died just a few minutes ago. But instead of going to the other side or peace or hell, we witches have transported you back in this time. Because once you and Elijah dies it will start the domino effect of further disruption in nature's balance.
Even at the time of creation, Vampires were considered as abominations against nature. As time passes, nature has its way of adapting every creature into his bind.
Already Finn, Kol and Elijah sire lines being dead the substantial amount of vampire population had died down. With you dying, even though your sire line is severed. In time the vampires die down with its origin being gone from this earth.
And Rebekah being only one Original with sire line, many enemies will again rise to get rid of Vampires from earth".
He listens to all this with sincerity and Ayanna continues. Niklaus, seeing her with confusion, continues, "We have selected you to act responsible with all the knowledge from your last timeline. To give you second chance in your life to correct the everything which causes genocide and live to fullest without any regrets. And the birth of your son and Caroline's daughters is set in stone in every timeline."
He perks at that statement and his mind raises the question "Even if I have not slept with Hayley, Henry will be born. Is that what you're saying" asks Niklaus.
Ayanna answers with a smile gracing her lips "Yes, my darling. That is what I'm saying".
He thinks of the possibilities of having children with Caroline Forbes, his heart flutters at that and lips twitching ever so lightly with hope. Henry is with the light that overshadows his darkness. And raising his children with his love of life.
Ayanna continues, "And Caroline Forbes being your mate, she also died along with you and was transported back in time with knowledge of your last life. Once you reach Mystic falls, you two may want to have a chit-chat about this. Since I choose to speak to you, you would have to explain everything to Caroline Forbes".
Niklaus is cloud nine on hearing this part where she also would be having all the memories of the previous timeline and being her his mate. He wasn't sure which tops which, he is beyond happy.
"We want you to stop any of the Originals dying, sire line being severed, Silas being raised, 1903 Prison world Heretics being released, releasing sirens (Sybil & Seline) from The Armory which was resulted in raising Arcadius the soul harvester of one of the Hell dimensions and the lists goes on from Dahlia to Hollow.
Maybe you were not aware of some of the things I said, that is what you would be discussing with Caroline Forbes and stop from happening. From our perspective, all the destruction started off with Finn's death" states Ayanna. Klaus stiffens at that; he should have to reconcile his relationships with his siblings in this second chance.
He looks up to Ayanna and asks, "Why am I chosen to send back with all this knowledge? I could accept Caroline Forbes being the light and full morality sent back with knowledge to stop any of this happening. But me, the Big Bad wolf, Original Hybrid sent back for the cause of good. I do not understand"
Ayanna smiles and gently takes his hand in hers and rubs the thumb against his knuckles looks into his eyes and says "Among all the layers of Big Bad wolf, Original Hybrid, Evil Monster there still the innocent boy Niklaus is there who loves fiercely and protects wildly of what and whom he considers his. That is why we have selected you and Caroline Forbes being your mate will support you to achieve the same."
Ayanna stands up and says, "Be wise with this gift. You and your mate are on your own in this. I suggest you get Kol to train my descendant and treat her with respect".
He nods and stands up as well, already thinking in the back of the mind on how to get Bonnie Bennet on his side. With the help of Caroline, it would be possible to make it happen. He thanks her for their trust in him.
She pulls Niklaus for a hug and gives a peck in his cheek and pats on shoulder, then in a second, she disappears. Niklaus stands there for a minute recounting everything that happened now after his death.
Caroline Forbes Home:
Caroline Forbes wakes up in a comfy bed which is her childhood bedroom. She shoots up at that realizing she could not be in her childhood bedroom right now, Liz Forbes house was torn down and rebuilt after a decade of her demise.
And the last thing she remembers was she returning to her daughters from New Orleans.
Ugh God! New Orleans, Klaus is dead. One person in this entire world who put her first, who made her see her worth for herself, who accepts her as she is, her last love is gone, dead.
She was devastated, she couldn't accept that he was gone. She couldn't ask him to stay. It would be very selfish of her; he was doing this to save his son. She would also do the same in a heartbeat for her daughters if the case is reversed.
She is crying her eyes out now. She couldn't do anything other than crying. She couldn't be able to see him again; his dimpled smile, his beet-colored fuller lips; his ocean blue eyes staring at her; his touch; his scent; his simple crease in the forehead; his eyebrows twitching to his hairline while bantering; nothing, nothing is left for her.
She is all alone and the last Vampire standing from the Mysticfalls population.
Suddenly it hits her that she is not in the car back to Mysticfalls. She is in her childhood bedroom. But how is it possible?
She searches for her phone in the left side nightstand and investigates it, the date shows April 2010. It is the day after she compelled Matt a second time on his request, when he pretended to be compelled to report back to his mom. Day before the Decade Dance 1960's theme, Bonnie pretended to be dead, and Klaus was in Alaric's body tomorrow.
Oh my God, Klaus in Alaric. What should she do now? Is she the only one transferred back? Is she allowed to change things so that no one will die as collateral? Would Klaus believe her if she said his mother was going to kill her children all at once?
Thoughts swirling in her head from all sides with loads of questions. She was determined to do her way to avoid the deaths that can be avoided if planned well.
She decides she cannot go to school straight away without planning things or clearing her head with some caffeine.
To clear her head, she decides to go for a short drive before school. She got up and made her bed. Then strolls into her bathroom for a shower.
She took black leather jacket, dark peach colored button-down tank top and a black pants with ankle boots.
She comes down and stops to check on her mom, she is already gone for work it seems the house is quiet.
She takes the key from the bowl and gets the small leather sling bag with her phone and wallet in it.
Unlocks her car in a driveway, claims into the driver seat and drops her bag in the passenger seat.
She is driving for about 20 minutes outside of Mysticfalls, she thinks of going to a Book Café near Whitmore college.
She liked that café very much at that time, so long ago. So she thought it would be wise to be far from home to think through and determine her course of action.
Once she is inside, she settles in a corner booth and orders one veg burger with curly fries & cold latte coffee.
The waiter left the table to bring her order, she took her notepad and a pen from her sling bag.
And writes down the things she wished to change or modify so that no would get hurt. Primarily is on stopping Klaus from dying, which is more important to her than any other even though it does not fit currently.
She starts thinking, she wants to stop Kol from dying and raising Silas for cure; stop Jenna from dying; amend her relationship with her mom and to make her take care of her health; her to avoid different torture sessions by her dad.
She taps her pen and starts writing the same time her phone starts ringing. When she sees she does not recognize the number, she attends the call and says "Hello, who is this?" tentatively.
Then she hears that voice she thought she lost the chance to hear again, "Hello love" says Klaus. She drops her pen; her spine stiffens in shock. Loads of emotions spinning in her head and heart at once. He remembers her. He knows her. This is HER Klaus.
