A gust of wind blew through the kitchen, and then a note fell to the table in front of Martha, 'Thanks for lunch.'
"Well I think he liked the food," Martha said while looking around to find the food containers empty and in the drying rack.
"Yeah I would say so," Alex said while looking at Karen's hair which was now in an elaborate braid.
"He was funny and made faces," Karen said with a giggle.
Sam looked at Karen and smiled until she saw Alex's face and burst out laughing taking the others with her as they saw his face that sported a cartoony mustache drawn on with marker along with a monocle.
It took them several minutes to calm down and even longer to get them to tell him what was up because they kept breaking up.
"Daddy you look funny," was all he got from Karen who was giggling.
Sighing he looked at the three with a blank face, "I'm going to have to retaliate and make it good."
"Please no prank war the watchtower barely survived the last one between Flash and Green Arrow," Diana said between laughing.
"No promises," Alex said while standing and passing Karen to Diana, walking out of the house, and disappearing for a few seconds.
When he returned he turned on the TV and found a news channel for Central City just in time for The Flash to appear on the screen to get the attention of the trickster only for the criminal to stop his rant and begin laughing at the Flash.
" Oh he is so going to try and get you back for that," Diana said while fighting more laughter, the Flashes suit was now rainbow-like with a unicorn standing on his symbol.
Martha was nodding in open mouth astonishment, "Just make sure he knows my house is out of bounds."
"How did you do that without him noticing?" Sam asked.
Alex smiled as he took his seat, "I'm afraid I'll have to keep that secret for now or he'll not get caught up in it again if I try to get him like that again."
"Mommy I want my suit to be like that," Karen squealed happily as they watched the rainbow Flash running just above the limit of what the camera could capture, for a second it looked like a rainbow was in the area before disappearing.
"Dude, how did you do it?" Flash asked as he appeared in the kitchen still looking like a rainbow.
"Karen hug of distraction," Alex said while lifting Karen from Diana's lap.
"Alexander our daughter is not a weapon or tool," Sam snapped out only to stop as it worked at distracting the Flash who was holding her while making funny faces.
Alex sat there with a smug look on his face while Martha and Diana were taking pictures with cameras, Sam wondered where they found them.
"Fine, you win this one but I will get you back," Flash said still making faces until his communicator beeped.
"We need to go there is a forest fire in California," Diana said standing up to find her uniform when Alex held out a hand to pass her a small ball.
When the ball touched her skin it spread out to cover her before changing to look like her outfit, "J'onn let me test out something and now you never need to go clothes shopping again,"
Diana looked herself over then nodded, "This is nice but my armor was forged by Hephaestus, it has some magical protections on it."
Sam turned and opened the door to the house went to the room Diana used the night before and returned with her outfit, passing it over they watched as the new suit absorbed the old set.
"Much better."
"Nice to know that they can absorb mystical equipment," Alex said while scanning Diana before turning to look at Sam a grin spreading.
"I'll take the suit but no I'm not going to wear it as a g-string bikini," Sam stated flatly.
"Bu bu but we went skinny dipping in Hawaii, " he pouted.
"Yes, and we were alone and now have a child to look after, so practical swimwear," Sam replied, giving Alex a stern look that said 'couch duty if you argue the point.'
Slumping, Alex gave in as he did. Flash said something that sounded like 'whipped' as he disappeared in a flash, followed by Diana.
Martha patted Sam on the shoulder, " Took me twenty years to get that one down."
Sam smiled as she went to turn off the TV when the scene changed to the forest fire Flash and Wonder Woman were helping put out when something caught her eye.
" Honey, where is our daughter?" Sam asked
"She is right..." Alex began to point to the chair Diana had left when he saw her flying around catching small animals on the TV, " I'll go get her," he said standing up and leaving the house and flying to California.
"Good work on him my dear but get ready for a lot of that, Clark was always running out to save something, one time he brought home a litter of wolf pups, the wildlife people thought we were selling them to rich people who want exotic pets," Martha said patting Sam on the shoulder.
"It took seven years to get him to calm down with me around him, he was alone for three years in a world full of the undead, the first time he saw me in a bathing suit he ran away to hide his reaction, but yeah I got him trained good and if Karen keeps it up she'll keep him busy when I can't, " Sam said as she watched Alex and Karen playing a kind of tag while catching the small animals and relocating them.
Martha watched as the two Karen had just scooped up a squirrel and put it on her head as she took its nest and kits before flying it to a fire-free zone as Alex was shepherding deer through the trees, 'While the Justice League are dealing with the fire these two unknown powered people are rescuing the animals,' a news announcer was saying as the two gathered up more animals.
"I just hope she doesn't bring home any animals, while we have the room it's not really a good place for pets," Sam pointed out as the forest fire was finally gotten under control.
'The Flash seems to be sporting a new look,' the announcer said as the speedster was using his arms as fans to blow the smoke away.
"How long do you think that'll last?" Martha asked while stifling a laugh.
"I'm not sure probably a day, "Sam said with a smile.
Alex and Karen reappeared in the yard and walked into the house smelling of smoke, "Showers now," Sam said before they could sit at the table.
The two just nodded, and Alex opened the door to the house and entered to get to the bathroom; Sam scooped up Karen and took her to the second bathroom, stripping her as she walked.
Fifteen minutes later the three returned, Alex and Karen no longer smelling of smoke and Sam in new clothes, "Young lady you are going to have to learn how not to get water everywhere."
"Water is fun Mommy and I like to be a top," Karen said with such seriousness that the adults thought it was cute.
Diana returned in a flash outside the house, her hair damp, showing she had a shower as well, "I must thank you for the wonderful new garment. It saves much time while bathing and choosing what to wear."
"No problem I'm glad you like it remember that it can still be armor as clothing," Alex said while passing one to Sam and Karen.
"Yay." Karen cheered as the suit covered her coping with her Supergirl outfit; Sam's did the same, only it changed into a pair of jeans and a shirt.
"You do know this doesn't get you out of going shopping right?" Sam asked with an almost evil grin.
"Bu bu, but I got you the best set of clothes ever," Alex stammered out, causing the three adult women to laugh.
"Yeah, and now I can drag you around the shops and get the patterns of all the clothes, and you won't have to carry the bags," Sam pointed out while Diana was nodding.
"Should I join you in shopping for clothes as I do not have many options available in my wardrobe?"Diana asked watching Alex from the corner of her eye winking at Sam.
"Yes that's a great idea we should invite Blackcanary as well I'm sure she would love a day out and shopping, " Sam pointed out as she reached over to plop Karen on a seat.
Alex sank into the chair next to Karen head lying on the table and groaning getting more laughter from the women.
"Umm should we be afraid and run, " Clark asked from the door Kara and Conner looked around him to see what the laughing was about.
"The shopping talk," Alex stated while tossing a suit pellet at the three his head on the table still.
Kara's eyes gleamed at the mention of shopping almost completely ignoring the suit replacing her current clothes, she eased herself around Clark and began talking to Sam and Diana about going to pick out clothing, "We need to get Megan to join us so she can get some experience with human customs."
Clark and Conner joined Alex at the table with Clark joining Alex with his head on the table when Lois was mentioned in the plans to go.
"I'll call her to see about setting it up, Metropolis has several nice shops," Kara said before going to do just that.
"Run?" Alex asked tilting his head to look at Clark.
"Impossible, Diana can contact J'onn to track us down," Clark said while looking more concerned when underwear was brought up.
Conner was laughing at the two until they looked at him with dark looks, "You get to be Megan's escort plus you will need clothing choices as well," Clark said with Alex nodding along.
Conner joined them with his head on the table with an overly amused Martha and Jonathan Kent watched the three.
"Dinah said she would love to join us and Lois is putting together a list of shops to visit," Kara said returning from the living room after making a call to Lois and finding her to be having coffee with Dinah aka Black Canary.
J'onn and Megan joined the group where Kara pulled Megan into the talks about clothes, Clark informed him that Conner would be escorting Megan on the trip.
Jonathan and Martha just sat back and enjoyed the entrainment the group had given them highly enjoying that they found a weakness in their son that was not deadly.
When the women finished talking about clothes dinner had been started with Alex following Martha's instructions, while the other men had gone to the yard looking over the tractor and other equipment as a distraction.
"I will need to rent a property for M'gann to have an address for schooling, we spoke about it, and although you offered to let us use your address for records I feel that she could use a home to learn to live as a human," J'onn announced while helping lift the tractor while Jonathan was checking the undercarriage.
"The Brents want to sell their place after their son moved away not wanting to work on a farm for the rest of his life," Jonathan said dusting himself off.
"I'm not sure we need a farm," J'onn said
"You could buy the house and leave the farmland, it connects to a highway on the other side," Clark said while looking around at the countryside.
"It's not a bad idea that the delivery trucks have trouble getting in from this side of the farm," Jonathan pointed out while directing the Martian to look down the driveway and to a trailer truck having to seesaw in and out of the driveway just down from his own.
"I'll talk to Jane down at the Remaxx office and, and see what they will take for the house," Jonathan said.
"Thank you."
"You know we can build a house closer to the road and possibly get a lower cost for the property, also we could put it across from your drive, " Alex said joining the men while planning to buy the property and doing just that.
"We'll see later, they mostly grow soybeans or corn for silage, if the relator can work on a deal with them."
After an hour Martha called the men in for dinner, when they were finished eating Sam bustled Karen into the house and got her into bed.
Alex had said goodnight to the others and went into the house sat on the living room couch and turned the TV to watch some movie.
Diana joined him in watching TV from a chair when Sam joined them cuddling against his side, when the movie ended she sat up and looked at Diana.
"Have you made up your mind?"
"Yes I have and I wish to ask you for a child, my people are forbidden to know the touch of a man, it's been on my mind for the last few days."
Alex looked from one to the other, "Umm you do know that even if it's not done the traditional way you will still need a father for the child although I can clone you it is likely that your mother would demand you give the child to her as it will be a young version of you."
"I do not wish for that, who would you recommend for the father?" Diana asked looking at Sam the Alex.
"Clark if you ask Lois first, The bat maybe but I don't know if that curse will affect her," Alex said after a second thought.
"Alex is also an option and I don't mind," Sam said startling Alex.
" Yes, I must ask Lois," Diana said getting up from the chair and exiting the house leaving the door open.
Tapping her earpiece she spoke, " Please connect me to Superman."
"You know that she is going to cause a real big kerfluffle when she asks Lois to let Clark be her child's father right?" Sam asked with a hint of amusement in her voice.
"Yeah I know and it's also going to be fun," Alex said with a smile before kissing the top of her head.
From outside the door, they heard Dianna speaking to Lois, "Yes Lois I must ask for a favor, would it be possible to allow Clark to be the father of my child?... Lois, are you there?"
Suddenly Diana tore the earpiece from her ear looking confused by the words Lois was using, all the two could hear were loud crackling words.
When the sounds died down Diana put the earpiece back in her ear, "Clark could you tell me what has angered Lois? I simply asked for her permission to have you be the father of my child,...Clark, is everything alright?"
The two were enjoying the one-sided comedy show when Diana returned to the chair she was using before looking confused.
"I do not understand Lois began yelling some profanities and Clark just went quiet until the connection ended."
Sam fell to the floor laughing while Alex was lying over the arm of the couch, "It's your wording and the blunt way you asked," Sam got out between gasping for breath and fighting her laughter.
"I can almost picture it now Lois is trying to not imagine you and Clark making a baby the long way, while Clark is just standing there completely lost," Alex said his words muffled by the couch arm.
"Should I try to contact them and rectify the misunderstanding?" Diana asked concerned she had accidentally caused her friends trouble.
"No it'll be fine I'm guessing we will have company tomorrow morning, Alex here can take Clark while I get Lois," Sam pointed out as she pulled herself back onto the couch.
A sleepy-looking Karen floated into the room and plopped down onto Alex's head, " Sleepy time, you begin loud," she said drifting off to sleep where she was.
The three adults looked at the little girl and smiled while Alex lifted her from his head and cradled her in his arms.
"The boss has spoken," Sam chuckles out, standing up, pulling Diana up, and leaving Alex to get Karen back to bed.
Morning came like always but this time Alex had Sam inform him if Diana was finished before he even began to take care of his morning routine.
When they exited the house outside the Kent home to found an angry Lois and confused Clark standing near the barn.
"Alright Lois you're with me and Clark with Alex, " Sam said before grabbing Lois by the arm pulling her into the house, and closing the door.
"Easy to say I don't know why she is having a secret meeting, it's simple Diana asked me to help her with a child but it will need a father or I'll just be cloning her, to keep her mother from claiming the child I need either you or the bat to be the father half of the child's DNA," Alex said while walking to the door to the Kent kitchen.
"Oh, so I don't need to umm actually do the um?"
"Nope we just wanted permission before we did it, you know it would show up in a medical scan and then cause some real big problems if neither of you knew," Alex said as he joined Martha in cooking breakfast.
"Do I want to know?"
"Diana asked Clark to be the father of her child," Alex said intentionally wording it to cause a misunderstanding.
Martha dropped the knife she was using to peel potatoes for hashbrowns and turned to look at her son and found him redfaced in embarrassment
Jonathan had to spit out the coffee he had just drank from his cup, Kara was patting his back to help him cough up what went the wrong way.
"I'll get a sibling sooner than I thought I would?" Conner asked a wistful look on his face.
"Umm," Clark saw the look and sank into a seat, "As long as I don't have to take part in the process I don't mind as long as Lois is ok with it."
"Another grandkid ?" Jonathan asked.
The door opened next to Alex and Karen came flying out and went to Kara who gave her a big hug, as an arm shot out and grabbed Alex by the arm and pulled him into the house before the door closed again.
"Yeah I think you're getting a little sister, " Clark said pulling the coffee pot to himself and drinking directly from it receiving a towel, popping him in the back of the head.
Alex found himself being stared at by two intense women and one amused girlfriend, "Uh okay how do you want her half and half or full human with Amazon powers, and how old do you want her to be?"
"Half and half?"
"Yeah, half Kryptonian and Amazon, some powers may not manifest, I don't know which though."
"Age?"
"Infant on up to teenage."
"Half and half, Karen's age," Diana said
"Alright let's get started," Alex said focusing on a girl of about five years of age with a mix of Diana and Clark's DNA.
A little girl with Diana's eyes and Clark's hair and a mixture of their facial features formed in front of Alex, Sam draped a blanket over her just as she fully formed and looked around the room.
The little girl looked around and then up to Diana, "Morning mama Aunty Lolo."
"Happy Birthday little one," Alex said giving her a clothes pellet.
The clothes pellet had just finished forming a child-friendly version of Diana's armor when a pecking noise came from one of the windows.
Alex and the others turned to find three women at the window which shouldn't be possible as the house is outside reality.
Going to the window and opening it he smiled at two of the three, " Aphrodite and Athena to what do we owe the pleasure?"
"You dare ignore me mortal," the third woman demanded.
" We've come to welcome the newest Princess and give our blessings," Athena said while cutting her sister a tired glance.
"You are not welcome here Artemis, and ask her mother and father about the blessings," Alex said while smiling at Aphrodite and Athena and again ignoring Artemis.
"That child is of Amazon there for I have to be here and take her from the world of man before they...," Artemis was stopped by a fist breaking her nose.
Alex looked over his shoulder to find Lois had been the one to punch the goddess, "She is not yours to decide how she will be raised."
"You dare," Artemis screeched whipping the blood from her face.
"I dare," Lois said drawing back and readying another punch.
"She will be taken from the world of man to protect her from their corruption and depravity," Artemis said drawing in her divine power ready to smite this mortal.
"It would be no better there on an island that would teach her to murder innocent people because they have something different between their legs," Alex stated while ruffling the girl's hair.
"No, she will be saved from the perversions of man and their unwanted touch, " Artemis said while shuddering.
"And what of the men who are assaulted by women in the same way you condemn men for?" Alex asked.
"No woman will fall to that," Artemis said leveling her hand at Lois and was about to attack when a hand appeared from nowhere and she dropped out of sight.
"Thanks Gran."
"Gran?" the two conscious goddesses asked.
"Infinity is my Grandmother," Alex said with a shrug shocking the two.
"Umm about those blessings, what do they do?" Lois asked changing the subject already used to the oddness of Alex.
"Standard blessings, compassion, and knowledge along with strength," Aphrodite said while reaching through the window and tapping the little girl on the forehead followed by Athena.
"And your dislike of Artemis?" Sam asked Alex.
"Umm she blames man for her nature every lunar eclipse her personality does a 180 and she looks for a man to sate her urges and a few times she gets knocked up and blames men for it without looking into her nature, she's abandoned many sons to the wild and dropped off girls on the island and forgets about them," Alex told the astonished group.
"But she's a virgin goddess," Athena said looking at her sister confirming that she was indeed a virgin.
"I get a sense of the places and people I see and her virginity returns after giving birth which takes a few weeks," Alex replied.
"Her sons?" Aphrodite asked.
"Hera picks them up and gives them to deserving families, they are after all her grandchildren."
"Why haven't mother or father put a stop to this?" Athena asked still looking at her sister.
"They may have and she went all teen and ignored them, "Sam said stepping up to Lois' side.
"True well we have done what we came to do Artemis will not like it but the time of birth is the only time we can give our blessings and when we are gone she will have to journey to Mt Olympus to get Artemis' blessing," Aphrodite said while stooping over to pick Artemis up.
"Hefestus will send her armor and weapon in three days, by the way, he likes the living clothes and armor you have made he said he would see if he can do the same using only his smithy," Athena said looking at Alex with a smile.
"Does he want one to study?"
Athena shook her head, "He's seen enough to get a starting point and that's enough for him."
Diana was shocked and silent for the entire time, Alex had renounced Artemis and spoke of things none knew of the patron goddess of the Amazon warriors.
"Dear Hera I hope you survive her wrath," Diana breathed out.
"He is untouchable, he claims Infinity as a family member that puts him above us in the power structure," Athena said just before she reached out closed the window, and disappeared.
Alex looked to Lois, " You are one brave person to punch a God."
"She said she was taking a family member away from us , that shit don't fly with me."
"Well let's go introduce Clark to his daughter and see how long it takes for him to get wrapped around her little fingers," Sam announced getting grins from the other women and a cheer from the little girl.
"Uh what's her name going to be?" Alex asked as he picked her up without noticing when she held out her arms.
"Stephanie, named for the first person not of Amazon that I befriended, he died in the war with Hitler, he was a brave man, he fought until the end on his feet and determination in his eyes," Diana said getting lost in the past and having to be guided out of the house by Lois.
"You said you were raised in a home that didn't allow TV and such but you seem to know alot about the world, is that part of your powers?" Sam asked Alex.
"Kind of also comic. I could read them at work, so I kinda did a lot of reading," Alex said with a shrug.
"And Stargate?"
"A friend made me binge watch the dvds on my first vacation from work."
"Ahh that makes sense."
"Yeah I don't remember much other than names everything else is a blur of images," Alex said as he stepped through the door and was mobbed by Kara, Karen and Martha.
"Stephanie these are your cousin Kara, my daughter Karen and your grandma Martha," Alex barley got out before she was pulled from his arms by Martha.
Alex stumbled back and found a seat next to Sam who was watching the four with a smile.
"Clark it looks like you've got a fight on your hands to meet with her anytime soon," Lois said as she sat next to him and filling a plate and began eating.
"Prepare your shovel speech you've got ten or so years to perfect it," Alex sang out until Sam reminded him that he had to work on his.
Both men looked at each other and announced, "Not until she's thirty," at the same time.
"Hurt her and I'll plant you on the moon," Conner said while looking at his little sister feeling his heart grow just a bit softer.
Alex and Clark nodded, "That's perfect!!" they said together.
"Men," Sam and Lois groaned out.
"Alright, everyone, eat up; Dinah and Megan will be waiting for us at the first store in Metropolis for our shopping spree," Kara said cheerfully, watching Alex, Clark, and Conner begin to eat very slowly.
