Harlington Residence, 8th of September 2015, 7000 hours:

The sun shone through the gaps in the window's curtains, the birds were chirping, and the leaves were shaking from the light wind outside. Inside is a room with a dark wood cupboard, a simple wooden desk with a computer with the keyboard placed on a tray, and a wardrobe with some photos placed on top, along with a wooden cross placed just above the window. There is then a bed where a dark brown-haired girl, with a short height, wearing a green shirt and bottom-bottom pajamas with white plain socks, was sleeping. That girl is Alisia. The sun shone into her hair-covered brown eyes, which caused her to wake up. She then crawled off the bed but ended up falling to the floor with a soft thud.

"Oww.." She held her head, feeling pain on her nerves inside her head. She stayed on the ground before regaining full consciousness and standing back up, before then walking outside her room and walking towards the bathroom.

Arriving at the bathroom, the first thing she saw was a sink with a mirror, along with a basket placed below and beside an old washing machine combined with an ironing surface on top. She took off her clothes and placed them inside the washing machine through the small port, before pouring some cleaning solutions inside, turning on the washing machine, and walking towards the blurred transparant window and stepping over the bath before switching the shower on without looking at the temperature indicator.

"O-Ow!" Alisia immediately moved the switch to the red zone, and hot water began dropping from the shower, raining down on her skin, causing her to flinch in pain and forcing her to turn off the showerhead. She released a heavy sigh before setting the switch to in between the blue and red indicators and turning on the showerhead once more. As warm water began raining down on her skin, Alisia released a sigh of relief before continuing to wash herself.

After around 30 minutes, Alisia came out of the bathroom and walked back to her bedroom while wrapped in a long towel. She then went to the cupboard and pulled out a white long-sleeved buttoned shirt with a chest pocket, a long-sleeved green blazer sporting an emblem of a shield dominated by a wall of a fort along with a book in the middle, the letters 'Fort Nelson Academy' placed just below, and a knee-length skirt. She then approached her wardrobe and pulled out some undies and a ball of wrapped white socks before starting to wear them all. After wearing the clothes, she walked out of her room and began making her way to the kitchen after grabbing her bag and keys placed just behind her door, hung by a single door hanger.

In the kitchen, she placed her bag on a large table surrounded by multiple dark wooden chairs. She went to the kitchen and took out two slices of bread and strawberry jam, along with a bottle of milk from the fridge. She placed the two slices of bread on the toaster before pushing down the pressure button, which brought the bread down inside the toaster. Warm-like lights appeared from inside, radiating heat to the toasts. As the bread was being toasted, the home's telephone rang, and Alisia walked towards it and picked it up.

"Yes? Who is this?" I asked Alisia in a soft and low tone.

"Ah, Alisia, dear. How is your morning?" A voice of an older woman came through; that was her mother, Maria. Speaking in a very soft tone. Alisia froze for a moment before dropping the phone on the table, toggling the phone to speaker mode, and going back to the kitchen with an annoyed look on her face.

"Honey? Are you there?" Maria talked through the phone with a concerned tone, but no response came back. Maria continued trying to speak to Alisia. "I know you're still mad at me for leaving without telling you, but I have a job that is dire. Your father really needs an extra hand in his business." No response came through. Maria then brought in a topic in hopes of getting Alisia to talk. "Well, how's Margaret? Has she called you yet? Well, I heard Miss Himari hasn't been able to contact her much ever since she went to college, and also, your father's doing alright in here."

There was only silence from Alisia, who was just standing in front of the toaster. The toaster released a ping as the two slices of bread popped out, in a dark and cooked condition. The sound of the ping was heard through the phone by Maria. "Ah, you're making toasted bread again? You're quite good at it. I wish I could cook for you every day." Just another silence from Alisia as Maria spoke through the phone. While Alisia was placing the toast on the plate, slicing both with strawberry jam, Maria released a heavy sigh.

"Alright then... Your mother's a bit busy right now; I'll call you later. Have a nice day." Maria said it in a heavy tone before ending the call.

Alisia began consuming her food for a few minutes, reflecting back on the call earlier. She felt deep inside that she should've answered back, but her annoyance got the best of her.

"You should've told me before leaving." She muttered, trying to move on from the call earlier. She then finished her toast before grabbing a cup from the kitchen's cupboard and pouring down milk from the bottle she pulled out of the fridge earlier to fill half of the cup. She then drank the whole cup down her throat, washing down the food she had just consumed. Afterwards, she grabbed a tissue from the table and wiped her mouth with the remnants of the milk. She grabbed both the cup and the dish and placed them down the sink, and she began cleaning with a sponge and a cleaning solution placed just near the tap.

After cleaning the essentials, she washed her hands and dried them with the tissue before throwing them in the trash can placed near the cupboard. She then grabbed her bag before going towards the entrance area, where it can be seen the difference between the entrance area and the main floor of the house, with a small wardrobe placed just on the side near the door and an umbrella. Similar to a genkan. She sat down on the step, leaning towards the wardrobe to grab her black shaved shoes before then putting them on.

She stood up and went towards the door, unlocking it before then walking out, and was greeted by a passing wind from her east, with the sun shining brightly in the yellowish sky as it continued to rise. She looked at her surroundings, where she saw other students going out from their houses while being followed by their parents, many with happy looks on their faces.

"Oh yeah.. First day in high school." Alisia sighed. She looked at the surrounding neighborhoods, seeing parents taking pictures of their sons and daughters. She felt a pang of both jealousy and disappointment from her own parents. She placed the keys inside her bag before gripping tight to her bag's straps before just giving a flat look on her face and beginning to walk on the sidewalk towards school, trying to move and forget.

Fort Nelson Academy High School, 7010 hours:

After about 10 minutes of walking, Alisia was just walking with an emotionless look on her face. She saw students from across classes and grades talking with one another, many of whom she recognized from junior high, despite the fact that she definitely did not or rarely talk with them. Seeing them being friends with each other and from other classes so easily in front of her hurts her a bit from the inside, making her feel very isolated.

As she was about to approach the gate, she came across a blonde girl who was almost the same height as her, just 2 or 3 inches higher than her. Leaning against the school's wall, her eyes fluttering up and down, with her legs shaking. Alisia noticed and approached her, but she froze in place. She had forgotten how to open up a conversation. She had a mini-panic attack for a few seconds before she took a deep breath and talked to the girl.

"A bit under the weather?" I asked Alisia in a low and soft tone, trying not to sound too loud.

The blonde girl looked around and saw Alisia, who's taller than her by a few centimeters. She looked at Alisia with a tired face and nodded. Alisia then smiled and leaned closer. "Need a hand?" She offered.

The blonde girl looked down at Alisia, shaking her head, and continued limping on her own. Alisia wanted to leave her alone, but she felt from her inner self that she should help the girl. She then approached the girl. "You definitely need a hand." She placed the girl's arm on her shoulder. Though Alisia was shorter than her, she tried her best to support her.

"So, what is your name?" Alisia asked the girl in a low voice, attempting to open up a conversation.

The blonde girl looked at Alisia and spoke in a low and tired tone as Alisia continued carrying her. "Lily, Lily Carter."

Alisia blinked; she realized it's her only friend since junior high. She looked down and blushed in embarrassment. "Oh, it's you. Well, uh, I almost forgot. Heh. Should I take you to the clinic again?"

Lily looked at Alisia and shook her head. "I'm fine.. Just drop me off at my class."

"Alright, then. Where is your class?" Alisia asked as she helped carry Lily through the gate. Where other students were walking through, I passed a gray-haired middle-aged man wearing all blues with a security belt on his hips, looking at the students with a smile on his face, greeting them as they entered, and getting greeted back in response.

"He's still here. Huh." Alisia looked at the old man; she remembered him since she moved to Fort Nelson.

"10-A..." Lily replied in a tired tone.

Alisia looked back towards Lily with a surprised look on her face and smiled in an awkward manner. "Ah, so we're classmates again? From junior to now."

The two eventually arrived inside their class. Alisia dropped Lily on the right corner desk of the 2nd row before sitting just left of her desk.

Lily regained her balance and stood on her own two legs. "Tried waking up at 4 AM... I woke up at 5 instead."

Alisia rested her head on her desk, releasing a yawn. "At least you tried."

Lily rested her head on the desk, unable to open her eyes by an inch. There was a moment of silence before Lily asked Alisia. "So... have you met your parents again? Or your old cousin?"

Alisia looked towards Lily when she asked her a question; she just gave a flat, emotionless face, not answering anything back in return. Her mother did return on Friday, attending the opening ceremony, and stayed until Friday, when she left without giving any notice on Sunday.

"You're still angry, I see..." Lily looked at Alisia's face, typical of her behavior whenever she's not feeling well. She decided not to press her for more questions and went on to her bag, pulling out several books and writing tools.

Then the bells were placed in several places near the hallway, and each classroom rang, followed by a teacher entering the classroom. The first lesson of the first semester has finally started this year. Little did they know, their school year would not be a boring one. Maybe?
