CONTINUING FROM WHERE YOU LEFT OFF- All right, as I'm writing this I'm currently thinking of perhaps dumbest thing I just did in my entire life. It turned out the daring rescue mission that required me to bend my diplomatic immunity as a son of the leader of Mars to its maximum. By that infiltrating a front belonging to third party Benerit company. I destroyed several walls and left my best friends to fend off for themselves without any real means to fight back. But hey, at least I managed to help Yushura by giving her some adrenaline. Although after what she told me for a second I thought that I shouldn't have do that. But hey, she seemed sorry. Long day, and that's not even all. Although as of now I'm flying back to Asticassia with reconnected Barbatos and too heavily keen on taking a long long nap. So once again I'll put on a pause in writing the entry for this day. I just hope that I'll have a way calmer things to write about when the evening will come. But it will probably Miorine slapping me again after Yushura's brother gives her the bill for damages. CONTINUE LATER-Akatsuki Augus's private journal, Ad Stella 123.
MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM: DEMON INCARNATE
CHAPTER 21: MIRZAKHANI-PART 3
He could do many things a normal sane person could do, he could laugh in the face of death every time he got inside the cockpit. He was the Demon Incarnate for a reason. But now Akatsuki felt as if he was stuck between the hammer and the anvil.
"Shit, shit shit shit." He repeated himself, his eyes shifting repeatedly at resting Barbatos, and then at Suletta and Yushura.
Yushura, despite her weakened state seemed to be the only one keeping a cool head looking at the panicking Holders.
"I would say t-that we could climb aboard Barbatos and get out of here." Yushura said just as all of them heard footsteps.
"Suletta, take Yushura on board. If anything happens connect and fly away." Akatsuki immediately stated summoning the zip line while he reached out to his holster for his pistol. "Always thought that it would come useful."
Suletta only looked at the gun before opening her visor in shock.
"W-We can't leave you here!" Suletta said trying to bring some common sense.
"We have a VIP to protect, I'll only buy you time as it's you and Yushura who are defenseless if who are invading the front are presumably pirates. Now help her up." He stated in a calm tone, finally making Suletta nod.
Without wasting any second the Mercurian secured Yushura under her arm alongside her Haro cane. While holding herself onto the zip line with her second arm. With a press of a button on Akatsuki's suit both girls went up.
With a sigh he raised his pistol. Despite being mostly a swordsman and a hand-to-hand fighter. He had enough confidence in his marksmanship. After all his Dad was probably the fastest hand on Mars. Who trained him ever since he was a 7-year-old in the compounds of their Farm and the TSC shooting range.
The key problem was that now rather than target shields or rotten food he would be firing upon people. And that was something he wanted to dodge. But he thought he didn't have a pacifist choice at this current moment.
And so a group of masked individuals entered the room. Ready Akatsuki readied his finger to fire aiming straight at the chest. But before he could do anything a weird fluid like substance deployed from the ceiling. Wrapping the opponents before any of the people present could push the trigger. With his eyes widened.
"Wait, What?"
Meanwhile in the control room, Yaya, Nika and Chuchu watched the ferroslime wrapping around the intruders in front of bewildered Akatsuki.
"Wow, now that is awesome." Chuchu said looking with awe at the monitor.
"Now, not yet it isn't." Yaya said while pressing buttons on multiple keyboards. "Although I am surprised by sheer bravado of your friend. Stupid, but the fact he wanted to secure Lady Yushura's safety makes have me owe a debt."
Nika on the other hand was more confused on what Yaya meant by "not yet".
"What do you mean by "Not Yet?"." She asked, to which Yaya only turned towards the two students.
"I am sorry for all inconveniences, but I detect another MS entering the front." Yaya said noticing the shock on their faces. "But thanks to Miss Suletta having a loyal fiancé, we have a mean to fight back. So I am currently trying to contact Barbatos's communication systems to warn them of coming threat."
With that explanation Yaya finally managed to lock on the frequency, a shriek of a buzzing sound echoed throughout the room.
"Yaya?" The voice they recognised as Yushura spoke through the speakers, much to Yaya's delight.
"My lady! Are you fine? Is Miss Suletta with you?"
Yushura, who now thanks to the Adrenaline taking its effect felt like she was back to 100 percent. Was currently sitting on the side of Barbatos's cockpit. Trying to leave as much space as possible for the pilot. With Suletta sitting behind her.
"Yes and yes. If you have access to the scanners you can probably see that there is another Mobile Suit in the front, alongside another small vessel hanging around according to what I can read out from Barbatos's radar." Yushura said, just as Akatsuki jumped inside. Not fazed by the lack of space in the cockpit.
"I understand, however…I want to convert the stone garden into the mass driver mode. So be sure to leap in the air and be ready to for any incoming hostilities." Yaya said as Akatsuki plugged in to Barbatos and closed the cockpit hatch.
"Affirmative, wait…why transform into the Mass Driver?" He asked confused.
"So we can help you intercept the enemy with it!"
And so the three teens safe behind the hatch of Barbatos watched as the whole place begun to shift. Pieces of machinery reforming and refitting seemingly on command. Eventually forming a long catapult.
"Wow…now that's a gun I would fire from." Akatsuki said before receiving a notification.
"I picked up another communication channel." Fumitan said to which Akatsuki immediately brought up the channel.
"Akatsuki? Can you hear me?" The voice of Damon caused Akatsuki to open his visor.
"Damon?"
Meanwhile in another part of the front, the three Turbine siblings, all equipped with a sub machine gun and a jetpack we're trying to track any MS signal down.
"Yeah, we're in the front. And currently trying to track that bogey." Damon said as they made their way through the corridors as they felt the vibrations getting stronger.
"Why couldn't we just wait outside in the Kutan?" Miru asked to which Damon turned towards his sister. Just as the three of them flew towards the hole that Barbatos made.
"Because given the fact this place seems to be currently under siege we could be in risk of being attacked, and remember that we didn't bring any ammo. That and how we would defend ourselves in something that has the same battle qualities of a brick?" Damon asked just as the ground shook once again.
Hibiki than took out her watch before projecting the radar on the nearby wall.
"Looks like they are coming to meet Barbatos right there and there." She said as the three siblings shared a look of concern. All before Hibiki showed her siblings a smile before reaching out to the pocket of her normal suit to reveal a small explosive.
"This doesn't mean that we can't help him, quite the contrary. Remember that time when we practiced Human/MS combat drills? Plus, we already have flight packs so we only need to find a right spot."
Hibiki explained to her siblings. Before in traditional Tekkadan fashion both of them nodded in agreement. It was risky, but after all a 50/50 chance of success was better than a 45/55 chance of failure right. Their mutual break was however paused by a sudden emergence of ferroslime from the walls.
"Uhm, guys?" Damon said pointing at the corridor, making his sisters turn around.
"Run!" Miru said as all three of them quickly jolted away from the slime.
"Wait, are those the TSC normal suits?" Chuchu asked to which Nika and Yaya turned towards one of the monitors. Showing footage of Damon, Miru and Hibiki running away from the ferroslime.
"Could you turn off the ferroslime in that corridor?" Nika asked as Yaya quickly sat down to another keyboard.
"I deactivated the slime spread in that sector of the front. Although I wonder why would they enter the front all by themselves." Yaya asked making Nika sigh.
"Friends, that and they are all either brave or borderline insane." Nika said causing Yaya to nod.
"Well, it seems that we will need to split the pay between all four of them." Yaya said as another monitor buzzed. Both they and Chuchu looked towards the screen showing another suit's designation.
"A Dilanza? How could space pirates afford a Dilanza?" Chuchu asked as Yaya sat down to the main screen.
"Not a regular group of pirates for sure, unless…could that be?"
Akatsuki's grip on the yokes tightened as the radar detected another Mobile Suit in the vicinity, without a word of warning he reached out for his swords. The GUND-Receptors lit up as Barbatos's GUND-bits formed a rotating shield.
In a second a white and gold MD-0031 Dilanza with the emblems of the Langlands Corporation appeared in front of them.
"That's my brother's Mobile Suit." Yushura said as Akatsuki let out a sigh of relief.
"Good, then maybe I won't have to cut it though." He said opening the visor of his helmet.
"Can we make contact?" Suletta than asked.
"I will try to make connection." The Fumitan AI said.
Suddenly another explosion appeared from the ceiling. In a second Miru, Damon and Hibiki appeared from the ceiling. Quickly overwhelming the Dilanza as Hibiki found the emergency cockpit hatch release lever.
"Hands where I can see them!" She said pointing her machine gun at Yushetas, who quickly raised his hands. 'Wow, that's the prettiest space pirate I've ever seen.'-he thought surprised, yes there was some semblance of fear. But he was more surprised than scared. After all it was rare to see a young girl performing a job like this. Especially in the inner rim. Maybe on Earth, but they were as far from Earth without the need of a passport as they could be.
"Ok, ok. Listen, by the uniform I can guess you are from TSC. I only came here to find my sister."-Yushetas said as Hibiki continued to suspiciously eye the pilot. 'Wow, he does look kinda cute. Wait, is that? -'
"Excuse me, are you Yushetas Mirzakhani? If so, then I'm really sorry for…blowing up a portion of the ceiling." Hibiki said with an awkward tone still pointing her raised machine gun at the young CEO. Who only slowly retracted the visor of his helmet.
"This place is going to be renovated anyways, and since we made sure that we won't kill each other. Could you please lower the machine gun down?" Yushetas asked, to which Hibiki complied by lowering her machine gun before removing her helmet. Allowing Yushetas to see her blonde hair go free. 'Wait, I think I know her from somewhere.'
"Wait, aren't you that Tekkadan tuner from this year's incubation party?" Yushetas asked to which surprised Hibiki nodded.
"Uhm, yes! Hibiki Turbine at your service. Although I need to ask how do you know me."
"I was at that incubation party and got some information from the TSC representatives. After which I checked the orders for TSC Hydro fluids from last three periods. I was even thinking about contacting you in regard of having you tune up my Dilanza, since I did some modifications myself but-"
"You know it would be nice if the two of you stopped engaging in small talk and contact Barbatos." Miru said finally pausing the conversation. Yushetas kept his resolve and connected the Dilanza with Barbatos.
"Uhm, hello?" The voice that the siblings recognised as Akatsuki's spoke though the Dilanza's interior cockpit speakers.
"Yes, this is Yushetas Mirzakhani. Do you have my sister with you?" Yushetas asked in a calm tone.
"She's with us. She needed a quick adrenaline boost so we injected her with what I had in my suit." Akatsuki explained, to which Yushetas only grinned in a friendly way.
"Good, I thank you for taking care for her. But I need her to be examined by real doctors. So if I can ask, for you to get my sister down onto the floor?" He asked, as meanwhile Akatsuki looked at Yushura and then at Suletta, who both nodded in agreement.
"Ok than." Akatsuki said before opening Barbatos's cockpit hatch. "I'll take Yushura down onto the ground. You take the cane and carry it."
With that command Akatsuki secured Yushura with his arm, grabbing the zip line and going down towards the floor, Yushetas did the same thing as he used the Dilanza's zip line to reach the floor. With Hibiki, Miru and Damon following them with the use of their flight packs.
Meanwhile seemingly out of nowhere a group of medics wearing suits with the Langlands Corporation emblems combined into the red cross emblem walked in before examining the quiet Yushura.
"Will she be ok?" Suletta asked as the medics examined her.
"She will fine, the adrenaline boost kept her awake but she needs to take real medicine and rest." One of the medics said as both of them helped Yushura up by the arms in a manner that made Suletta look at Yushetas with an accusing look.
"Yushura is fragile! You can't mishandle her like this!" Suletta said pointing her finger at Yushetas, to which the older of the twins sighed.
"Listen, my sister was eluding me for two days. I tried to get her back, so I had no choice to resort to such measures." Yushetas explained as Akatsuki took off his helmet.
"Wait, eluding?" He thought as he noticed the amount of people slowly appearing around them. 'How did so many people got here?' he thought to himself.
"Yes, if I am being completely honest I don't know why she did that." Yushetas said before turning his attention towards Akatsuki. "And I am honoured to meet you in person, sir."
Akatsuki only rubbed the back of his head with an awkward smile.
"Please do not call me sir, it makes me sound old. You are the one who makes tons of money." Akatsuki said completely omitting Suletta's seemingly shocked facial expression. 'Yeah, she'll probably not like it…' he thought as he reached out his hands towards Yushetas, which the young CEO shook with a pleasant smile.
"Okay, I am Yushetas Mirzakhani. The CEO of Langlands Corporation and privately a big fan. It is a pleasure." Yushetas said, shaking Akatsuki's hand.
"All the same, and on behalf of everyone I'm sorry for all the damage we made. After all this place is supposed to be a museum." Akatsuki said ending the handshake.
"No problem, I was supposed to put this place up for renovation anyways. You only made the job easier, but as the host allow me to help you move your suit and freighter onto the Mass Driver. Same with your friends. In additional to all compensating fees and pays for fuel" Yushetas said, to which Akatsuki nodded in agreement.
"That would be appreciated." Akatsuki said before someone else entered the large space. A person dressed in a similar suit to all of the other Langlands staff that seemed to now occupy the whole front. Their identity hidden by a golden visor.
"Yushura… are you ok? I would never imagine you would flee!" The figure said hovering around the weakened CTO.
Suletta quickly stood up in a protective stance in front of Yushura.
"Hold on! Who are you!" She asked before Yushura slid off the visor from face.
"Nah, It's ok Suletta. It's only…" Yushura paused herself feeling the influx of the adrenaline slowly losing Its effect on her body, after all her sickness required a specified mix of medicine, not only just adrenaline. "Suletta, this my fiancé."
Those four words sent Suletta in the haywire.
"What!?"
But before Akatsuki could say anything Yushetas took him to the side.
"Let's leave Miss Suletta with my sister, I'm sure she will take care of her. In the meanwhile, let me help you with moving your equipment. Besides there is something I need to talk with one of your associates in regards of a personal project of mine…"
Akatsuki only nodded in agreement, seeing as Suletta seemed to have everything under control.
Akatsuki let out a sigh of relief as he loosened up the hold of Barbatos's control yokes. It took them a little over an hour to load everything up. But Yushetas was a man of his word and helped with the process of mounting the Kutan with Barbatos on the Mass Driver. Which according to Yushetas would've shorten the trip back by more than half.
"You ready?" Hibiki asked as Akatsuki let out a yawn before he took off his helmet.
"Yeah, I'm really tired. I think I'll finish the journal entry and take a nap. So do not bother calling me unless to notice we are arriving. One thing I find weird is why we're going ahead." He said out loud before reaching out for a notepad beneath the seat.
"Aperrantly Nika, Chuchu and Suletta will be going with the Langlands shuttle as a way to pay back for what they had to endure." Hibiki said as she herself alongside her siblings were preparing for launch.
"We're all good to go." Damon said looking at his screen. Hibiki only nodded before connecting the Kutan with the crew.
"Mass Driver…this is the TSC Kutan Mark V transport carrier. We're strapped and ready for launch." Hibiki reported tucking herself into her seat. After all this was a long Mass Driver runway.
"Copy that, the catapult is set. Launch in ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one."
The Mass Driver immediately launched the small craft like a pebble from a slingshot. Making not only the Turbine Siblings but also Barbatos's pilot being pressed into their seats.
"I think my ribs are shattered." Damon stuttered out.
Hibiki meanwhile let out a groan as she readjusted the thruster speed. Before taking off her helmet panting for air.
"Note: never use a Mass Driver as a launchpad." She said to which Miru turned towards her.
"Noted, but as a sister I gotta ask. What were you talking about with that Mirzakhani guy?" Miru asked taking off her helmet as well.
"Oh, business venue and my knowledge of fine-tuning Jeturk suits. He said he wanted to meet me privately to discuss a possible partnership." Hibiki said, to which Damon and Miru eyed themselves before turning towards their sister.
"A partnership in what?" Miru asked before showing her sister a devious smirk. "You know, this could be your chance. We talked that one of other why you came with us is to find a boyfriend?"
Hibiki only huffed in annoyance at her sister's comments.
"Just because a business associate is good looking doesn't mean I need to go out with him. Besides from what we talked he seems like a real professional with a passion for Mobile Suits." Hibiki stated, to which Damon only rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, so exactly like you. Besides I've seen how guys look at Renee whenever we walk down the corridor." Damon said "At least before she hangs on my body and uses her knee to massage my crotch in order to make them jealous. But still, and I could see the same facial expression on that guy's face when you talked."
Hibiki was slowly start to run out of patience as she listened to her siblings' suggestions.
"So the guy has hormones because he is talking to a beautiful girl. Or that he isn't gay. Besides I don't even have the right clothes if he would ask me out. The only decent dress I have was left on Mars." Hibiki said to which Miru smirked.
"That's where using your charm to convince him to buy you stuff comes in. Plus, there is-WHAT THE HELL!?"
Miru's teasing was cut short by stone-faced Hibiki doing a barrel role with the Kutan at neck braking speeds as Miru and Damon were floating around the cockpit. All before Hibiki readjusted the course.
"Are you in mood for teasing again?" She asked looking down at her tuckered out siblings. But before any of them could answer Hibiki received a message from Barbatos's cockpit.
"Hibiki, I understand that teasing can be annoying. But please know that I'm connected to it and I'm really trying to sleep." Akatsuki said with a tired tone and signed out.
After some time spent with Yushura, Suletta joggled back to the Lapis Garden's space port. The ship that brought them was already starting to begin the taxi procedure in order to mount on the Mass Driver.
"Nika, Chuchu!" She exclaimed seeing her friends already board the ship.
"Suletta! You made it!" Nika happily exclaimed.
"Finally, now we can get out of here!" Chuchu added, despite her tone a common feeling of calmness emanated between the students.
"Yes, I'm fine. But despite the injected adrenaline Yushura's condition caught up with her." Suletta said looking down onto the floor.
"How is she?" Nika asked with a worried tone.
"After Suki injected her, she was fine for a little bit. But then she begun to drift away. But the she is under care of doctors and-"
"Good! Then if she recovers we can even the odds!" Chuchu said cutting Suletta mid-sentence, but Nika noticed the ominous shadows in Suletta's eyes.
"Suletta…how serious do you think Yushura's condition is?" Nika asked.
"Is it really that serious?" Chuchu added furrowing her brows.
"I don't know…the doctors didn't want to tell me anything since I'm not from the family." Suletta said. Despite the world they all lived in was thanks to the discovery of Permet was flourishing even after suffering something as terrible as the Calamity Conflict. It was thanks to said conflict that Permet was discovered in the what remained of Earth's moon. Yet still many illnesses were left without a cure. And with the stagnation of medical nanomachine technology after the war in favour of everlasting Arms Race, there were still many diseases, sicknesses and aches that hopefully the GUND technology would one day resolve.
"Eh, don't worry. She's like super rich even by Spacian standards, I'm sure she'll be fine." Chuchu said trying to cheer Suletta up.
But before anyone could say anything they heard panting for air. All three of them turned around to see Yaya, visibly breathing hard as she ran up to them. Suletta, trying to calm her eagerness and curiousness. Walked up towards the bodyguard.
"Miss Yaya!" Suletta said helping Yaya up.
"I've come in Lady Yushura's stead to see you off." Yaya said snapping back upwards.
"How, is she?" Suletta asked.
"Thank you for your concern, fortunately the adrenaline Akatsuki Augus injected Lady Yushura with helped stabilise her a little bit. But still a lack of proper prescription took a toll on her. She is currently undergoing tests but her condition is now fully stabilised. She deeply regrets not being to see either you nor Akatsuki Augus's team off." Yaya explained in a calm, yet soft enough tone to recognise that Yaya's demeanour meant that Yushura was stable.
"Miss Suletta, I wish that you could pass this to Mister Augus. Thank to both of you for protecting Lady Yushura. I am deeply grateful."
Yaya's comment made Suletta blush for a second.
"No! I just helped her escape, and Su-Akatsuki showed up just in time to help us! Is Mister Yushetas and her fiancé with her?" Suletta asked, still feeling prejudice towards him after witnessing his…brutal methods. But then again Akatsuki used similar methods whenever he wanted to help someone. But he wouldn't deliberately put anyone in danger right?
"Yes, there is no mistake both of them are worried for the Lady's health. Please rest assured. Mister Yushetas will do nothing more than to secure his sister's safety." Yaya explained, to which all three of the girls nodded.
"When she gets better, tell her we have a duel to finish. I aint a person to leave something unfinished!" Chuchu said earning a smile from Yaya.
"I will pass that message to Lady Yushura. But I must take my leave now in order to be my Lady's side." Yaya said with a smile. Gesturing for them to get into the ship.
"You come to our school too Miss Yaya, and with Miss Yushura as well!" Suletta said from behind the closing hatch.
"I understand, have a safe journey." Yaya said with a bow and bid farewell to the three Asticassia students.
Akatsuki sprung eyes wide open from the long nap he took, feeling Barbatos suddenly stop in it's tracks. Before he could instinctively reach out for his pistol the cockpit opened to reveal Damon. Now dressed in regular TSC fatigues with a Turbines jacket thrown over it.
"Rise and shine, we're back." Damon said reaching out his arm. Which Akatsuki took feeling the pain cramps in his knees.
"Jeez, how long we flew?" Akatsuki asked as he took a closer look at his surroundings, somehow they found themselves back in the Earth House's mobile suit hangar. "And how are we back here?"
Damon only sighed for a second before reaching out for his phone. Akatsuki's eyes widened realising what he saw.
"4:00 AM? But…how long we flew here? And how did you even load up the suit all by yourselves?" He asked to which Damon unfolded his arms.
"A crew was waiting for us, they only introduced themselves on behalf of their boss who apparently "will find a way to have Marsboy pay her back"." Damon said, making Akatsuki let out a tiresome groan.
"Secelia…, this won't end well. At least for me, but at the very least you managed to get the suit back here." Akatsuki thought before letting out a jaw cracking yawn, as he was reaching out towards the compartment above Barbatos's seat and behind a small piece of the monitor. Which contained the MCA standard issue emergency compartment for standard issue fatigues and survival kit. Or in Akatsuki's case, his jacket and Asticassia's school uniform.
"You got him?" Miru asked from the lower portion of the cage, to which Damon showed both her and Hibiki a thumbs up. It didn't take long for both boys to climb down. With Akatsuki holding his clothes under both of his arms alongside his helmet and his jacket thrown over his arms.
"Alright, since everyone will probably be asleep I would suggest we keep it quiet." Akatsuki said before opening the door to the main complex, only to be blasted by sheer light and volume coming from the Earth House's main living area. Everyone seemed to be in a complete buzz.
"I guess we don't have to worry about being quiet."-Damon said just as Katma walked past them, holding a mug of coffee.
"Oh, you're back. Miorine said that you should report to her if you come back." Katma said before sipping down her coffee. The four only shared a look before making their way towards the "office". Or the unused makeshift office of the "Madam President of GUND-ARM Inc." which sounded way too grand to match reality.
"So, who comes in?" Miru asked, to which Damon knocked Akatsuki on the back.
"Dealing with a pissed off wife is a job for a future husband. So let the best pilot in the solar system take care of it." Damon said, to which Akatsuki only shot a quick middle finger before walking inside.
Walking in Akatsuki saw Miorine at her desk, looking at a desktop and sipping coffee.
"There you are! Did you found Suletta and the rest? Speaking of rest, you are really in need of a nap. You'll be needed soon." Miorine said before passing her coffee towards Akatsuki. Which he didn't waste time to jug down in a second.
"They should be coming soon; they were sent after us so they should be flying as we speak."-Akatsuki said wiping his eyes, earning a nod from Miorine.
"Okay, also tell Hibiki to prep Barbatos, since Aerial is still in repair we'll have to use it for demonstration." Miorine said not looking past her desktop, to which a bit stunned Akatsuki nodded.
"You are, not worried in the slightest? Not even a little bit?" Akatsuki asked to which Miorine didn't even look away from her displays.
"Why would I? You completed your mission didn't you? What reason would I have to not trust you? I'll ask Suletta for all the details, for now get some sleep." She said, Akatsuki only stood there for a second before heading out. Closing the door behind himself. Miorine meanwhile let out a yawn before reaching towards another bag of instant coffee. 'Looks like, you're not the only one tired from all of this. And it's all Suletta's fault, or Yushura's. Or someone else's. Damn it, I can't even think straight. And I really want to take a shower.' She thought to herself before returning to work.
"So, how did it go?" Damon asked, to which Akatsuki only turned towards Hibiki.
"Miorine said that you should get ready on preparing Barbatos for launching." Akatsuki said before without a word leaving for his bedroom.
"And where you're going?" Miru asked to which Akatsuki raised a thumbs up.
"Bedroom, power nap." He replied before disappearing in the corridor.
"Well, I'll need some coffee and my favourite playlist. Let's get to work, chop chop." Hibiki said before leaving for the kitchen, with Miru and Damon following her.
Suletta, Nika and Chuchu left the morning train. After their descent from the spaceport they decided that the rest should have already arrived back at the Earth House and would meet them there. So they rushed straight for the monorail. Luckily for them due to recent arrivals and the buzz in the visitor/recreational district of the colony the trains were still coursing. Completely contrasting with the Campus which was all quiet with only the lights from small number of windows emanating in the dark digitized sky. And so did the Earth House, which in contrast to other buildings seemed to be acting as if it was the middle of a busy day.
"Is everyone still up?" Nika asked confused as all three stared down the main door.
"The place sure seems quite a buzz, or maybe the four of them woke up the whole building while moving back Barbatos? Dunno." Chuchu added.
"I wonder what is happening?" Suletta said, before opening the door. "Well, one way to find out."
The three of them of walked in, at first everything seemed normal. However, with each step taken, all three of them could hear the sound coming from the living room intensify. Voices arguing, sounds of running feet, sounds of typing, writing and other activities forming a cacophony of a busy office.
"Ah, you're finally back!" A voice snapped before all three turned to see Lilique holding a notepad. Behind her they could see Martin and Till, supposedly engaging in a heated discussion behind a whiteboard monitor with some quickly written ideas. "Chuchu, over here. Nika! The CEO wanted you to meet Hibiki and Aliya in the Mobile Suit Hangar. You Suletta, you're supposed to meet up with Miss Miorine.
Listening to Miorine's instructions all three of them nodded. With Suletta making her way towards Miorine's office. Without even a knock, as like Akatsuki she knew that Miorine wouldn't answer. She walked inside to see Miorine reading something on a notepad. Her legs laying on the table.
"Uhm, Miorine…I'm back."
That sentence caused Miorine to stand up, almost on attention. Before she walked up towards Suletta, seemingly ready to berate her again.
"Suletta!" Miorine immediately yelled out. "What could have been possibly thinking?! Have this be a reason why I had to send Akatsuki to deal with whatever Yushura took you along!"
"Well, actually…" And so Suletta begun to explain the whole story, carefully studying Miorine's changing facial expression. From anger, to mild confusion and finally embarrassed amusement. Shown perfectly by her facepalmed expression.
"And that's pretty much it." Suletta said before awkward silence begun to hover between them. "Uhm, where is Suki?"
"Currently resting since we will be needing him later. Hibiki is with Aliya and now also with Nika preparing Barbatos for possible launch. Go talk with Lilique, she will give you a task." Miorine explained before returning to data on her notepad.
"Right, but can I know what the big commotion is about?" Suletta finally asked, making Miorine let out another tired sigh.
"While you were away being supposedly tested by my friend, which I'll have to talk about with her brother but that's not important." Miorine stated before continuing.
"GUND-ARM Inc. has found its first real customer. An optical research institute, basically they want to found more ways to detect asteroids that might collide with fronts, PLANTs or colonies. As you probably know current telescopes do well in wide-range distant viewing. But when quickly magnifying to focus on nearby asteroids the image quality goes downwards. So they want to utilise the optical technology from GUND-ARM Inc., so technically what currently resides in Barbatos's eye cameras. So that they can make a smooth, free observation like a human eye would."
Miorine's quick statement made Suletta's eyes widen.
"That sound incredible!"
"Yes, but we need to have everything prepared to a top notch. So go help the rest. The customer is coming this late afternoon. So every mechanic we have is preparing Barbatos to be as pristine and good looking for any possibly taken photos as possible. Martin and others are preparing the documents. Now that Nika and Hibiki are back Nuno and Ojelo should get ready to cleaning and polishing." Miorine said before once again glazing at Suletta.
"And do not worry about Yushura, I'll sort this out personally." She added as a last message before sending Suletta off. 'And let's pray this all goes well.'
Akatsuki's eyes bursted open before raising up from his bed. Quickly taking a look around his surroundings, since the room lacked a window it was only illuminated by false light, which was at the moment turned off. Between silent stutters and groans Akatsuki reached towards the light button causing the room to be filled with light. First thing he noticed was his Haro, looking at him with its beady eyes.
"Haro, what hour is it?" Akatsuki asked, causing Haro's eyes to light up.
"It is 13:37 in the afternoon." Haro said to which Akatsuki's eyes widened. 'Shit!' he thought before quickly springing up forward, grabbing his toiletries and underwear before rushing towards the bathroom. After all alongside Miorine he was the face of the company, so of course he would need to look as presentable as possible. And that would mean putting on his finest clothes, those being his military MCA uniform now finally complete with a kyu-gunto sword mounted to the left tigh. After all the military was modelled after Gjallarhorn's. So of course the uniforms of the Central Army were pastiches.
Rushing into the shower room with nothing but a sweat suit on his body. He dedicated a lot of time to get himself as clean and tidy as possible. Spending several hours in a tight suit and not taking an evening shower made him sure of that. Plus, it felt refreshing, taking off a dirty layer. After that he washed his teeth and did his hair to look as good as it did on tv. This was the Akatsuki Augus that GUND-ARM Inc. needed. And the one he needed to embody as perfectly as possible. Luckily for him it only required him cranking up his confidence to eleven, and that was something he mastered a long time ago.
"Alright, be cute, be hot, and sell the product as best you can." He recited to himself as he faced his reflection. It was a dumb recitation, but it helped him keep his cool. After all those attributes have been his selling points for years, now he only needed to help his fiancé. It was his duty as a future husband after all.
Akatsuki adjusted his sword while not noticing Miorine's gaze, who herself was dressed in a formal suit.
"Do you really have to carry this sword?" Miorine asked to which Akatsuki only unfolded his arms.
"I'm an ensign now remember? And as technically an officer within the MCA structures I'm obligated to carry one." Akatsuki said before adjusting his collar, allowing the Ensign marks to be perfectly visible.
"Well, be glad I am the one doing the talking." Miorine said as they alongside Suletta and the rest of the GUND-ARM Inc. staff watched the mid-sized shuttle that seemed tiny next to a giant that was The Apostle finishing the docking procedure in the spaceport, seeing quite a large amount of people leaving the shuttle.
"Wow, quite a large group isn't it?" Damon asked as he and Miru stood next to Miorine, serving as bodyguards both to her and their walking advertisement.
"Well that's to be expected, after all they are here to set up a large telescope." Hibiki explained shutting her brother up.
Without any clearance from her "bodyguards" Miorine pulled Akatsuki along, seeing as finally the last person from the shuttle emerged. With her confidence in toe she made her way towards the institute's director. A petite yet commanding figure as to be expected from someone of that calibre.
"Director Grace Chain, I thank you for coming. I am Miorine Rembran, CEO and President of GUND-ARM Inc." Miorine said before gesturing her hand towards Akatsuki. "And this is Akatsuki Augus, the head of our sports department and our second main pilot."
Not wasting anymore time Miorine shaked Chain's extended hand and used her time to analyse her perhaps future contractor. Clad in a flowing white coat that reminded her of a cape, a titan in multiple scientific disciplines and areas, earning a fortune from her numerous patents that allowed her to partake in experiments like these. Allowing her to run an institute bearing her own name. One that sent out the proposal. It was an occasion for GUND-ARM Inc. one big client would lead to more, and then to more. Chain only gave Miorine a bright toothy grin.
"Miss Rembran, your presentation at the Incubation Party was fascinating. I'm eager to see what are going to accomplish and to explore what we can do next." Chain said before turning her attention towards Akatsuki.
"And it's a pleasure to meet someone famous as you Mister Augus. You know what they say. "Who partakes in the Mars/Jupiter Grand Prix is a hero, and the one who wins becomes a legend." Isn't that right?" Chain asked as she took Akatsuki hand, much to his slight embarrassment.
"That is a big over exaggeration Miss Chain." Akatsuki said before slightly gesturing towards Miorine, signalling for her to take back the conversation.
"Would you prefer some time to rest before we begin?" Miorine asked with a smile that had to be trained, since neither Akatsuki nor Suletta ever see her smile like this.
"No need, let's start right away." Chain said before snapping her fingers.
As if it was an agreed signal a single seat Mobile Worker appeared. Cradling what looked like a white sheet, as if it was a little child. Folded into a one-meter square, followed by another Mobile Worker carrying a container.
"So…forgive me if I'm ignorant but which one is the telescope?" Ojelo asked as both he and Nuno cranked their necks.
"It's in that container." Nika explained "The sheet itself is a part of the telescope, specifically, the reflective mirror."
"You mean, that sheet?" Suletta asked pointing at the sheet. As she watched it being carried towards the Earth House hangar, and while Miorine could have requested Ride to have an TSC escort. She thought it wasn't necessary for a low-calibre task like that.
"Let's connected to Barbatos right away, I always wanted to see a Gjallarhorn Gundam Frame with my own eyes." Chain proposed, to which immediately a group of her researchers begun to work.
Akatsuki on the other hand wasn't entirely convinced, and Suletta noticed this. After all, Barbatos was his suit and the family heirloom. So he was itchy about trusting it to a third party unaffiliated with TSC in any slight way. The one time it was ignored was when what remained of Barbatos Lupus Rex was rebuilt into the AA. And even now Shin Sei was connected to the family in a way.
"Are you sure that nothing will happen to Su-Akatsuki's Mobile Suit?" Suletta then asked, to Akatsuki's surprise.
"Don't worry, we'll be only moving the telescope. We will connect it's eye cameras to our telescope via a cable and test if it can be operated using GUND technology from a Gundam's cockpit." Chain said before turning towards Akatsuki. "Do not worry, I promise we won't install any third party software that would mess with Barbatos's BIOS."
Akatsuki rubbed his chin for a second before nodding.
"Alright, but it means I'll need to go get changed." Akatsuki said before turning towards Hibiki, who was holding the briefcase with his pilot suit and his helmet. Not wasting anymore time he took them from her before making his way towards the hangar.
"Don't worry, we can count on him." Miorine said trying to keep the situation under control.
"We can?" Suletta then asked, surprised to hear praise about her second fiancé.
"Of course, he is the Demon Incarnate for a reason."
Hibiki and Nika were sitting in the makeshift control station with the other Earth House students and the Institute scientists. All while Nuno, Ojelo and Aliya were connecting the telescope with Barbatos's eye cameras. Meaning the frame's head armour needed to be taken off. All while Akatsuki was putting on his pilot suit.
"Wow, a real Gundam Frame…" Chain said, causing Miorine to perk up.
"What do you mean Doctor?" She asked, to which Chain showed her trademark toothy grin.
"It just works on the imagination. The sharp armour, the exposed hydraulics, the lack of said armour. The fact it can keep up with modern suits despite being over 300 years old with only modern parts makes it incredible in a world where a 10-year-old suit is considered obsolete." Chain explained, just as immediately Akatsuki walked out from the makeshift dressing room. Making sure his suit was in a clearer Holder variant.
"I'm ready." He said earning a nod from both Chain and Miorine.
"Great, you can go sit inside the cockpit and report everything you see." Chain said to which Akatsuki nodded.
He made his way towards the moved cage. Feeling a little…uneven seeing all the cables connected to Barbatos's head.
"Alright, we have all the readings and now we just need Fumitan to let in third party bios…and we're in!" Hibiki reported, to which Nika nodded before looking at her screen.
"I got the readings from the monitors, we have the view from the telescope!" Nika added, to which both Miorine and Chain nodded. Akatsuki meanwhile climbed inside the cockpit. Connecting himself with the back port.
"Hello Akatsuki." The Fumitan AI said just as Akatsuki closed the cockpit, with the monitors current pitch black colour only being countered by the blues, whites, reds and blacks of the shining instruments.
"Hey Fumitan, now let's get this done with." Akatsuki said before noticing a beacon on the main HUD. Recognising this as a message he allowed the transmission though.
"Hello mister Augus. Are you ready?" The voice of Grace Chain asked as Akatsuki adjusted his visor.
"Yeah…I'm good." Akatsuki said before he stopped his finger from pressing the button that would be responsible for activating the monitor. "So, I'm only supposed to activate the monitor?"
"Yes, activate the Aglaonice Space Telescope!" Chain said, to which immediately the group of researchers complied, causing the white sheet to inflate and unfold. Transforming itself from a small square into a ten-meter equilateral triangle. While everyone's eyes seemed to look on with awe, only Nika seemed to act in a way that would almost cause her to faint, with Katma being the only one who noticed it.
"Wow, is that the reflective mirror?" Nika asked, to which the Doctor only nodded.
"Yes, yes it is. You are quite knowledgeable about it." She said just as the telescope entered the second phase of its miraculous transformation, thin poles begun to extend from the triangle's three corners. Meeting in the central upper part forming a pyramid-like structure topped with a translucent sphere.
"I guess that's the light receptor." Katma said earning a rapid nodding from Nika.
"We're connecting this telescope with Barbatos's BIOS and other inner systems." Hibiki said making sure everything was tied to the last knot. There was a lot of awe, but also a lot of curiousness from the GUND-ARM Inc.'s staff.
"So, how exactly the GUND Tech tie into space telescope technology." Ojelo than asked.
"That's where Doctor Chain's genius shines. Who else would think of a telescope being operated in such human-like way? Sadly, the design philosophy hasn't caught up with the GUND technology. But she's been thinking about it for a long time, and this telescope was designed with this premise in mind." Nika quickly explained.
"So she is that remarkable?" Lilique asked.
"Yeah, a she's a leading figure in astrophysics and has achievements in numerous other fields." Nika explained, and with that the rest of the day was dedicated to integrating the GUND technology with the space telescope. With the pilot needing to take few breaks while the mechanic crew were adjusting cables moving around the stripped portions of the Gundam Frame.
Akatsuki took a sip of a drink before jumping back inside the cockpit, being welcomed by the pitch black exactly like the first time he sat in.
"We will be feeding the simulation data to the telescope. Can you see it?" Hibiki asked, to which Akatsuki turned on the monitor following the set pattern.
"Yep, all clear. At least as clear as the monitor can show me." He replied. "Hopefully I won't have to resort to the inferno mode, because that would cause me a headache."
"Right, try moving the telescope by sending information to Barbatos. It should move just by looking." Chain instructed, to which Akatsuki complied. He relaxed his body and begun to move his eyes. To his own surprise the telescope complied with the sent information.
His first thought was comparing it to how an Alaya Vijnana suit would comply with the pilot's thoughts and sending feedback information. It made sense since the GUND was an indirect cousin of the system. Only here it didn't require taking a dangerous operation involving injecting nanites into the spinal cord.
"Wow." He said out loud before feeling a weird buzz in his head, something was wrong. He knew his suit more than anything. Without even touching the manual that wasn't a brochure made by Shin Sei.
"Wait, Fumitan! Scan through any program bugs. Check the bios compatibility."
"I have scanned all the active systems. Everything is running at the one hundred percent capacity." The AI said much to Akatsuki's confusement, there had to be something wrong. As if the suit tried to warn him. The said warning could be even seen outside, as the GUND-Receptors begun to frequently light up. The warning finally made itself clear as the view from the telescope begun to buzz.
"Uhm, Doctor? Hibiki? The focus jerks when I try to adjust it." Akatsuki reported as meanwhile outside the crew could see the sheet jerking awkwardly while the receptors were giving everyone a red lights show.
"Is the telescope connected?" Chain asked, to which Nika quickly checked her notepad.
"Yes, but…" Nika said before quickly turning towards her partner. "Hibiki, are there any compatibility problems?"
"I got a report of Fumitan doing a full overview scan. She reported 100 percent compatibility. Even with the shutdown Gjallarhorn BIOS." Hibiki explained, earning a nod from Katma.
"Well it could be a matter of time before the suit itself will give him the GUND-lag." She explained earning a worried look from Suletta.
"A GUND-lag?" She asked.
"It's something the fraternity referred to whenever the Permet Score information was too much even for the suit. Like a turbo in a car when it sucks air and experiences a lag." Katma explained to her.
"Well, it was Vivian who made sure everything with the GUND-aspect was running smoothly." Hibiki said before Chain took the microphone.
"Mister Augus, may I ask you to try a little bit harder?" Chain then asked, much to Hibiki's concern.
"I guess so; it's not like we have anything to lose." Akatsuki said, all while Miorine bent towards Nika and Hibiki.
"Is everything alright?" She asked to which both mechanics unfolded their arms.
"We won't know unless we'll try to cross that bridge more…Although, it's worth a shot if Akatsuki uses Barbatos's 100 percent." Nika said to which Hibiki raised her eyebrow.
"You don't mean…" She asked before earning a nod in confirmation. "Hmm, fine."
Hibiki then took the microphone before taking a deep breath.
"Akatsuki, could you try and activate the Inferno mode?" Hibiki asked before continuing. "Maybe if we try to transmit the information directly to your head, we'll get rid of the problems with magnifying."
Akatsuki thought for a second as he stared down his right hand, gripping the control stick.
"If it works, alright." He said before taking a deep breath, "Fumitan? Inferno Mode."
"Ready, initializing."
And with those words the upper part of Akatsuki's helmet slid down covering his face, as inside of the cockpit's monitors went down with only the red text "INFERNO MODE IN MOTION" showing on the monitor. In a second Akatsuki felt his consciousness shift. Opening his eyes to see Barbatos's point of view.
"Alright, I'm in." Akatsuki reported all while the outside could witness Barbatos's eyes turn blood red.
"Great, now try again." Chain said, to which only the static figure of Akatsuki only nodded, with Barbatos's head moving in accordance.
"Strange, everything seems fine. But it feels as if the telescope only amplified Barbatos's sensors." He reported, as meanwhile he could've felt something akin to the radar saying of an approaching threat. Which was dumb, unless the bios was registering the telescope as the said threat. But then again Fumitan said the bios was 100 percent compatible, unless the Gjallarhorn one was trying to fight back though the TSC/MCA/SS overlay that served as the main bios for the last 7 years.
Eventually, they spent two hours on intense testing. Complete with breaks to accommodate the fact that Akatsuki needed to rest after long usage of the Inferno mode. And even then they were testing the telescope in the regular Eden mode. Eventually Chain turned towards Miorine, a solemn expression was painting on her face.
"I'm sorry, but the fault is all on me." Chain said, but before Miorine could say anything she continued her explanation. "The telescope's unique focusing mechanism relies on the synchronized movement of twenty sheets. A ballet of engineering procedure and science. I thought I created a totally different, more flexible telescope, but us working together on this test made me realise that my philosophy of how to design a telescope hadn't caught up with the GUND technology."
Chain finished her monologue before slightly bowing her head.
"I apologise for wasting your time and effort."
Miorine quickly raised her hands in order to calm her down.
"Not at all, it wasn't a waste. In fact-" But before she could finish, Chain made up her mind.
"Based on the data we've received today. I decided that I'll redesign the whole thing from scratch. When I'll design and finally construct it. I would like to propose a partnership with your company again after that." Chain explained, but in contrast to her Miorine wasn't in exactly high spirits. This was the one thing that differentiated researchers from CEOs. While they were happy about all the innovations, the CEOs would look though it with money in their eyes.
But it wasn't a cancelation, more so a postponement of the contract. Yet Miorine undertrained. She quickly turned to Nika and Hibiki.
"What do you think? Is there anything, anything we can do?" She asked, to which Nika only turned her head in frustration.
"And we can't forget about the human aspect." Hibiki said before pointing at the screen with resting Akatsuki. "The Inferno mode took a heavy toll on him."
Miorine looked at the image, he seemed to struggle just as much as she did. And the fact he was still tired from the trip to the Lapis Garden she sent him on also played its role. She only sighed before taking the microphone.
"We're finished for today." She reported, to which Akatsuki only tiredly nodded before stumbling out of the cockpit. She then sighed in defeat. For weeks she struggled to even talk to other companies. Yes, TSC would lend them a hand. But the problem resided in the fact they were a mercenary group sanctioned by the government. Rather than a group that would save lives. The Institute was the only group that wanted to talk to them, only for this to backfire.
"Even I am a little bit tired. Let's take a half day off. And tomorrow, we'll start packing and do a quick wrap-up. How do you feel about this CEO Miorine?" Chain asked, to which Miorine begrudgingly nodded.
"Alright." She said with a tired tone. Seeing as there was no real point to continue if both Nika and Hibiki, arguably the best engineers and mechanics she had in her staff said it was impossible. Chain, whose demeanour was a mix of resolve and fatigue. Departed back to their ship, one probably equipped with living quarters. Suletta noticed Miorine's mood, so she quickly huddled towards her.
"Uhm, Miorine?" She asked, to which Miorine remained solemn. Her gaze shifting between her staff, Barbatos connected with the telescope, and Akatsuki who drank a bottle of water after bottle of water. Him just as strained and tired as she was, if not more. But still he didn't give up, it was the first lesson she thought she "taught him" the day he arrived here. And she wouldn't give up that easily.
It didn't take long before she perked upwards. Her voice a mix of frustration, determination and exhaustion.
"I'm going to take a shower and go to bed!" She said before turning to Suletta. "You too, you won't come up with any good ideas if you will be sleep-deprived."
"You haven't given up, have you?" Suletta asked as Miorine moved her hair out of her face.
"Of course not. But I don't have any new ideas at the moment. I'll sleep with it and tomorrow's me will have a new idea." Miorine mused to herself before turning around towards Akatsuki, who was explaining his problems to Nika and Hibiki. "Akatsuki!"
The sheer tone of the yell caused Akatsuki to feel a tingle on his back before he ran up towards Miorine and Suletta.
"Get some rest, you did the most of work. So tomorrow you'll have a day off for yourself."
Akatsuki only slightly raised his eyebrow. As he knew that if he wasn't going to do any company-related work, he would probably be forced to take part in any duelling committee hijinks. Especially since Secelia was now awaiting "payment", for helping load Barbatos back to the Earth House.
"Well, sure. Thanks, I guess…" He said just as Miorine begun to make her way towards her room.
"Uhm, good night!" Suletta said, her face filled with concern which Akatsuki noticed. He then silently took her hand. Which was something the Mercurian felt, but didn't make her immediately explode.
"Wait!" The sudden voice of Miorine caused the two Holders to separate.
"Yes?" Akatsuki asked, to which Miorine turned around towards them.
"Walk me to my room." She said, before continuing on with her stroll. The two Holders only glanced at each other before quickly catching up. Resolving to silence in solidarity with their bride.
While the staff of GUND-ARM Inc. and Chain Optics Research Institute were enjoying their well-earned rest. A sleek ship quietly landed in Asticassia's space port. Despite the front mostly being the school. The spaceport was being ran 24/7. The sounds of hissing from small thrusters accompanied by the sound of a tapping cane as the ship's hatch opened.
Yushura gracefully jumped off from the entrance, holding a box and a small envelope under her free arm. With the cane swallowing all the nearby air allowing her to almost fly in the zero gravity environment Yaya, who followed her lady in an impressive show of acrobatic abilities kept catching up with her.
"Lady Yushura, wait a bit. You are still recovering and-"
"Yaya, you worry a little bit too much. Yushetas putting me in a hospital was a way too much. Besides he owes me a favour for delivering that envelope for him." Yushura said before finding herself standing in front of an orange Information Haro.
"Hello, how can we get to the Earth House?" She asked, to which the Haro immediately lit up its red eyes.
"You can go by monorail and then on foot." The Haro said earning a smile and a nod from Yushura.
"Thank you, you know…I wish I could have attended Asticassia myself." Yushura said before looking down upon her body. Her frail build, her sickness, her weak immune system. It prohibited her from doing that. She could only wish, and Yaya knew when her Lady would do that.
"My lady…" But before Yaya could think of continuing Yushura raised her hand.
"It's fine, I'm telling you it's fine Yaya. I was just thinking how fun it would have been to attend with you. But we're not here to be sad let's go."
And with that attitude the duo continued though the front. Getting from the spaceport, locating the monorail station and finding the line that would take them to the school portion of the front. When the train entered the true Asticassia both looked up to see what looked like to be the sun dawn. Almost no life on the roads, scooters all neatly parked and busses sitting stationary.
"It seems we have arrived a little bit early." Yushura said as she and Yaya exited the train.
"Yes, it's still just dusk. Everyone might still be asleep." Yaya said to which Yushura nodded.
"That may be the truth. Last time I met Suletta right away and barely got to see Asticassia and a bit of the Earth House. From what I remember, Earth House is in a different sector from other houses." Yushura said.
"That is because the scale is way different compared to those of even smaller companies." Yaya said, to which Yushura only gave her a smile.
"Then let's go." She said, to which the two begun to make their way towards the Earth House. The walk wasn't long, but still took a toll on recovering Yushura. Eventually the two found themselves standing in front of one of the doors towards the Earth House.
"My Lady, we should be careful with entering. According to my research-" The adventurous portion of Yushura's attitude however didn't listen and she entered though the open door.
"Yaya, do you smell something weird?" She asked as both of them made their way through the dimly lit corridor, all before the sounds of goats, chickens, and yaks filled the whole room. Causing Yushura to almost fall over from shock.
"Ah! What is this!?" She asked, to which Yaya sighed.
"This is the stable; the Earth House students raise livestock." Yaya said before pushing her lady forward.
Damon's eyes sprung open, which shouldn't be an easy task considering how much Renee tired him out. He was certain he heard voices, which didn't belong to anyone he knew. He then turned towards Akatsuki. Who was sleeping soundly on his bed.
"Akatsuki, buddy. Hey, wake up!" Damon said quickly slapping Akatsuki's cheek, to no avail before he turned on his side. Damon only sighed before reaching for his ultimate weapon.
"Suletta is taking off her bra." He whispered, to which Akatsuki jolted upwards.
"Damon, it's like 5 in the morning." Akatsuki said before once again laying down.
"I heard the animals yelling. And as you know they only yell whenever someone unknown enters." Damon said, to which Akatsuki could hear the animals in disarray. He got up from the bed, before reaching towards the bedside table. Before opening the cabinet and taking out his pistol.
"Let's go." Akatsuki said to which, surprised by the sudden shift of mood Damon complied, him reaching under his bed for his own gun.
The two made their way out of their room. Trying to be as stealthy as possible considering they had to use a flashlight. Quickly they rushed towards the stable, only to see the animals stare at them with confusion.
"Hey Ginko, might showing me where our stranger went?" Akatsuki asked patting the goat on the head. To which Ginko only turned her head towards the corridor that lead to the hangar.
"The hangar." Damon said, to which Akatsuki nodded before both of them rushed towards the hangar.
"What could possibly a stranger want from a dorm room's hangar?" Damon asked, to which Akatsuki only raised his eyebrow.
"I dunno, maybe someone learned we carried around an experimental telescope. Company es-OW!" Akatsuki felt something impacting his forehead. He blinked only to see Suletta, followed by Nika, Chuchu, Miru and Hibiki. It was too late for any correction for the course of the fall. Causing him to fall on top of her. This combined with what Damon used to wake him up caused Akatsuki to cover himself with a crimson blush.
"S-S-Suki!?" Suletta asked, as her face was covered with a shade of red deeper than her hair. "What are you two doing!?"
"We were on our way to the hangar to check who is in the hangar!" Akatsuki said, to which Suletta only nodded. Before she realised looking back to see four girls staring at them.
"Uhm, Suki? Could you please get off me?" Suletta asked. Just as Akatsuki noticed two things. One that much like him she was wearing her pyjamas just like Akatsuki was. And that meant she wasn't wearing a bra, and that meant her breasts were free to reveal their real size thanks to Akatsuki pressing her shirt down. This sheer realisation caused Akatsuki to spring back and hitting his head on the floor.
"S-Suki! Are you alright?" Suletta immediately asked, before rushing towards Akatsuki. But before she could do anything he jumped back onto his feet. Realising it would mean more "views".
"I'm fine! Now let's go." Akatsuki said before grabbing his gun, which luckily was switched to safety.
Only sharing a slightly amused, and confused look the rest followed both of them. Yushura and Yaya stared at resting Barbatos, both confused by the amount of taken off head armour and the contraption connected to the Gundam Frame.
"Is this, a telescope?" Yushura asked, being a CTO meaning she was well-versed with wide array of technologies.
"Uhm, Lady Yush-" But before Yaya could finish the lights of the hangar lit up, revealing Suletta, Nika, Chuchu, Miru, Hibiki, Akatsuki and Damon.
"Huh? A-Ah! Suletta! Akatsuki!" Yushura said, to which with a sigh of relief Akatsuki and Damon lowered their guns.
"Y-Yushura! And Miss Yaya as well." Suletta said, with curiousness and recognition.
"What're you guys doing here? Wait…who forgot to lock the stable!?" Chuchu asked, realising how they entered the Earth House.
Yushura on the other hand was happy to see them walking towards her and Yaya. Their pace matching her own excitement.
"Sorry, did we wake you?" Yushura asked, to which Suletta focused on Yushura leaning on her cane.
"Yushura…are you alright?" Suletta asked, to which Yushura showed her a smile.
"Yes, I came to show I'm fine." Yushura said before remembering the second reason why she came here. "Oh, I also brought some things as an apology for…your unnecessary effort."
Yushura's eyes then locked on Hibiki, before she handed her an envelope.
"It's from my brother." Yushura said, to which confused Hibiki only nodded.
"Thanks?" She said, opening the envelope and reading the letter inside. Before covering herself with a blush and putting the letter back in the envelope.
Yushura then turned towards Akatsuki before handing over the black box she was holding underneath her arm.
"And this is for you, consider this as an apology for you risking your life and your equipment." Yushura said, to which Akatsuki nodded opening the box. To reveal a stylish dark blue and red hilt, or a "tsuka". Wrapped in a comfortable material. He took a closer look and saw the tsuba. Styled to look like the "AA" logo he uses in merch.
"A hilt? That's really nice…" Akatsuki said before he felt a tab underneath his finger.
"You felt it didn't you? There is a small button. Press it once. Just please make sure not poke anyone's eye off." Yushura said, to which Akatsuki complied. With a press of the button a stream of a magnetic fluid came out of the tsuka and formed a blade. Surprised, Akatsuki swung it a little bit and was surprised by fluid it felt.
"I designed it in only few hours. The fluid forms a blade that's edge should be no thicker than a molecule." Yushura said, seeing Akatsuki's smile. "The fluid is also adjustable, so it can be used as a key for example."
"Thanks! But how do I turn it off?" He asked, before Yushura showed him to press and hold the button. Causing the blade to vanish again.
"That's nice you came and all, but still you could've picked a better hour." Chuchu said before pointing at Nika and Hibiki. "Those two just went to bed."
This comment just caused Yushura to raise her eyebrow.
"Could something have happened?" Yushura asked, earning a quick explanation from Suletta.
"Well, some things came up with GUND-ARM Inc., and…"
But before Suletta could finish, Yushura only readjusted the grip on her cane and looked at Barbatos.
"Tell me about it, maybe I can help." Just as the first light of dawn shed itself upon the campus. The hour of appointment set by Director Chain came. With a heavy atmosphere, Chain summarised the issues and feedback before handing the data over to Miorine.
"Here, this might serve as a reference." Chain explained, to which Miorine, who herself was tired from coming up with last-minute solutions, scenarios and alternate plans. Only nodded in compliance, trying as best as she could to hide her disappointment. But while she continued to walk by Chain's side, making their way to the hangar she could hear several conversations at once.
"I've heard everything!" A distanced, yet familiar voice echoed. Causing Miorine to stop for a second.
"Huh? Who is that?" She asked herself, before walking in to the hangar. Only to witness Yushura, conversing with Nika and Hibiki. In contrast to Miorine, Yushura kept her cool and turned towards the newcomers.
"I am Yushura Mirzakhani, the Chief Technical Officer of the Langlands Corporation." Yushura said, introducing herself.
"Y-Yushura!?" Miorine asked surprised, almost speechless by the surprise her friend made by showing up. Yushura only smiled, and raised her hand signalling Miorine to be silent.
"I understand that there are technical issues in the collaboration between GUND-ARM Inc. and Chain Optical Research Institute." Yushura said, earning a look of interest from Chain.
"Langlands Corporations, a name synonymous with magnetic fluids and other technologies. And you believe that you have a solution, Chief Yushura?"
Yushura only showed the Doctor a reassuring smile, before she walked up to her.
"Director Grace Chain, what an honour it is meet you." Yushura said shaking Chain's hand.
"I've always held your company's technical capabilities in high regard. Although, I hadn't heard that Langlands was involve in the optical field." Chain said, to which Yushura only showed her a smirk before stepping back.
"True, although while we don't specialise in telescopes. With your guidance, and expertise of people here. I believe we can all contribute to your concept of operating telescopes like human eyes, Director. It would be faster to show you. Yaya?"
Immediately Yaya complied to Yushura's request. Yaya displayed all the quickly complied data Yushura made with Nika and Hibiki. The simulation showed the vacuum of space, in which a piece of liquid metal floated. Without effort forming constructs like spheres and ring-like structures, a three dimensional magnetic field manipulating it without any contact.
A simple presentation, but it did its job. By capturing Director Chain's attention.
"Langlands spatial magnetic manipulation. It's always astounding to see." Chain said rubbing her chin.
Yushura only smiled seeing her reaction, she then turned to Miorine to see her spirits raising up, so she continued.
"You flatter me. Yaya, show the next data points, please." Yushura asked, immediately making the image shift. This time showing a transparent liquid freely transforming.
"Are those organic Ferromagnets?" Chain asked, to which Yushura gave the get-go to Nika for explanation.
"Yes! Exactly!" Nika said happily, earning a look of curiousness from Suletta.
"Uhm, what's that Nika?" She asked, to which Nika. Who for the last hour was busy stuck in a brainstorming session and developing a simulation with Yushura and Hibiki. Completely forgot about the fact that all the present pilots just few minutes ago were sleeping on the couch.
"Well, typically. Organic materials like oil, alcohol and plastics don't stick to magnets, so you can't control them with magnetic fields." Nika started before continuing. "But by tweaking their molecular structure, you can create a magnetically responsive liquid. Some truly impressive stuff."
Suletta, who just woke up from a quick power nap, didn't quite understood what Nika was telling her. But she continued to listen.
"For example. If you mix it with a fire supressing substance, you can not only efficiently cover but also extinguish a fire! Same thing if you mix it with an insulator, but then it will stop electrical leakage and if you add a conductor it could bridge disconnected electrical systems. Also, since it's transparent. I can function as a lens, and since it's a liquid. It can be changed in an instant! This could be applied to what Director Chain wants the telescope to present with itself, by moving like a human eye!"
Finally, Nika concluded, earning spontaneous applause from the nearby crowd. Even from Akatsuki, Damon, Miru and Chuchu. Who were barely standing on their legs.
"Nika, your insight was really impressive. And you know, I have a knack for remembering bright minds like you." Chain said to which Nika blushed.
"Oh! Just hearing someone like you saying that makes me happy!" She said with a smile, but before anyone could say anything Yushura took back the control of the presentation.
"As Nika explained, integrating our ferrofluid and organic ferromagnet with the reflection mirrors and lenses of the space telescope would allow a much smoother and flexible connection compared to the current mechanism, fulfilling part of the human-like' mission. It would also allow us to take off some of the feedback from Barbatos in order to not overload the sensors."
Chain only clapped her hands in anticipation just as Yushura finished her presentation.
"Excellent! We'll upgrade our telescope with magnetic fluids! Nika, Miss Turbine. Could you assist with reconfiguring the connection to Barbatos?" Chain asked, to which Nika only looked at Hibiki, who nodded in agreement.
"I'm sure we can do that, but we'll need some more expertise. I'll call Vivian to see if she could help." Hibiki said before running off. Yushura only nodded before turning towards Chain and Miorine, happily grinning to unveil her vision.
"Langlands proposes a three-way business partnership. We, or to be specifically accurate I. see a great value in collaborating with Director Chain on our research. We're interested in GUND technology and the GUND-ARM concept itself, especially my brother. And we've been investing in the medical field, so we believe we can cooperate extensively."
Yushura's statement seemed to immediately convince Chain, who nodded and rubbed her chin.
"I agree, engaging in future dialogues with Langlands opens up vast possibilities. As for GUND, while I'm not too keen on battle-ready Mobile Suits. The potential in itself is immense, as I mentioned earlier." Chain stated, before she turned towards Miorine, who herself felt stuck in a split-roads.
She worked, and worked hard in order to secure any work, and while she was still confused, and angry at Yushura for essentially kidnapping her groom and forcing her second groom to waste fuel and resources to take her back. But it was an opportunity, and she would never an opportunity slip by her.
With anticipation on her mind, Miorine took a deep breath.
"For GUND-ARM Inc., the Chain Optical Research Institute and Langlands Corporation are the best possible partners." Miorine said, before bowing her head. "Please, let's work together."
With that, Miorine extended her hand. Which was gently shook by both Yushura and Director Chain, signalising the formed partnership.
"I propose we name our collaboration 'Project Asterism,'" Chain suggested.
"Asterism, like the star cluster…like we are the "Summer Triangle". I like it." Yushura said, understanding immediately. Miorine nodded in agreement, their first big project.
"At my institute, we intend to continue the experiments in their current trajectory. What are your thoughts on this?" Chain asked, immediately moving the business.
"We would like to request the same from our end." Miorine replied. "
But, Langlands cooperation is crucial." Yushura added, earning a look from Miorine. Yushura's entrance caused the whole project to go on its head. But Miorine didn't mind the fact that she had saved the whole deal from postponement.
The said CTO only smiled before turning her head towards Yaya, who only nodded her head. As if she understood her question without a single word.
"Leave to us, a call and we'll deliver the necessary materials here in no time. A half a day at most." Yushura said, to which Chain nodded before turning towards Miorine.
"Thank you Chief Yushura. It seems proof of concept experiments may be possible. But if so, I'll want to try operating it in outer space as well." Chain said, to which Miorine nodded.
"I understand; this will mean that we'll need our pilot." Miorine said before turning towards Akatsuki, who only wiped his eyes before getting up from the couch and cracking his knuckles.
"It was supposed to be my day-off. But I'll do it." Akatsuki said with a smile before letting out a yawn. He was an out-standing by pilot, but a couple of days without a regular sleeping schedule was taking a heavy toll on him.
However, before Miorine could confirm her pilot's clearance Yushura quickly interjected herself in.
"Excuse me, but as we can see while Mister Augus confirmed his ability to pilot. It seems last few days took a toll upon his wellbeing. May I suggest sending another MS in order to assure the test's fluidity?" Yushura asked, to which Chain turned to Akatsuki, and then to Miorine.
"I don't want to sound rude. But there is some truth in Chief Yushura's words." Chain said, reassuring Yushura's concern.
"That…will be a problem." Suddenly all company leaders were interrupted by Hibiki.
"As someone who maintains all TSC suits. Both Aiolos are in a mist of software update plus due to their construction they are unfit for a test like that. Same for my Darilbalde, which current load out would interfere with the test."
Her statement caused Damon and Miru to eye themselves. Their suits were ready to sortie at any moment. And the fact that Hibiki of all people stated that her suit would be unable to do a trivial task such as securing a suit. Unless, she had an agenda. As both of them noticed her eyeing Yushura.
The Langlands CTO only smiled before clasping her hands.
"That won't be a worry Miss Turbine." Yushura said before continuing with a smirk. "Luckily, our company has its own Mobile Suits."
Miorine's eyes widened and her eyebrows shot up when she heard it. Causing her to remain silent throughout the rest of the meeting. Which eventually drew to a close. Everyone's spirits lifting up with a sense of accomplishment and excitement flowing in the air among everyone, from the Earth House staff, to the Turbines and TSC to the singular unit representing Titan.
Yushura got up from her chair before waddling towards the GUND-ARM Inc. CEO.
"Miorine, I would like to talk with you later."
"You know; it would be nice if Miorine would actually pay me for doing this." Vivian said as she and Hibiki were sitting in front of a monitor, fine-tuning Barbatos's connection with the telescope. Hibiki only sighed before she reached out towards her jacket's pocket for the envelope she received.
"I didn't just ask you because you worked on Barbatos longer than me. But also because you can help me with this." She said before she handed Vivian the envelope, the senior Turbine stopped typing for a second before she begun to read out the letter out loud.
""Dear Miss Turbine, due to unfortunate circumstances we weren't unable to continue our discussion. As the CEO of the Langlands Corporation and head of the board I am hereby inviting you to a private meeting at the Benerit Group headquarters front. And while this meeting would strictly be professional, I would ask for you to wear something…formal, as perhaps we would talk about it over dinner if that would suffice. For more information, please refer to this E-Mail address. Yushetas Mirzakhani." So little sister, you got asked out by a big-shot CEO? Where is the problem?" Vivian asked, showing Hibiki a sly grin. To which her younger sister only covered herself with a blush.
"N-No! It's more so a business conversation. With someone handsome but still. I ask you because, I don't have anyone else to have this conversation with." Hibiki said with a sigh before continuing. "Lafter would say to go at it immediately, Azee would probably…well you got me there, Mom would have said something close to "Marry him! Marry him and get yourself into the family and a position in the company!", Damon's relationship is more akin to fuckbuddies, Miru seems to be more focused on drawing and fulfilling her artistic vision and Akatsuki is so dense he can't confess to a girl he likes."
Hibiki finally stated, letting out a breath of relief. Vivian only paused her work before fully turning towards her sister, a sympathetic look on her face.
"Listen, just because I had few boyfriends when I was studying with Teiwaz years ago. Doesn't mean I can tell you the entire know-how. I mean, I still can't get a guy to understand a confess." Vivian said wiping her forehead, thinking about her red-haired superior before continuing. "But what I can tell you, is that even if it won't turn out the way you think. The guy seems to be interested in your work, so at least maybe it will resolve in a job one day. Besides you managed to hook a guy apparently with a single conversation, the two of you could have a lot in common and that would be a double win."
Hibiki only nodded, of course she lied about the fact she expected most of the answer, at least from 2 out of all of her siblings. Many of them married and with kids, she just considered Vivian as someone close enough to her to put herself in her shoes. Still, she remained worried.
"And the idiot me didn't bring any of my dresses or shoes that aren't sneakers." She said before facepalming, to which Vivian only ruffled her sister's hair.
"Don't worry sister dearest, the Martian taxpayers will pay for it." She said with a smile, "Just tell me when you'll arrange your date. I'll take you to the staff district and get you some decent clothes."
That caused Hibiki to perk up with a massive smile before leaping onto her sister.
"You're a lifesaver Vivian!" She said, to which Vivian only smiled.
"Hey, as a senior it's my job to finally push you towards someone's arms. In that rate you'll get married faster than the only engaged person in this room." She said before pointing at Akatsuki and Suletta, who stood close to the corridor with Yushura.
"What are they even talking about?" Hibiki asked as she separated from Vivian, who only unfolded her arms.
"That's only for them to know."
Yushura drew out a long, steadying breath to relief herself. Causing Suletta to turn with concern.
"Are you okay?" Suletta asked, to which Yushura only smiled.
"Yes, of course." Yushura said with a determined tone in her voice as she, Suletta and Akatsuki approached Barbatos's cage, witnessing Miorine looking upon the resting suit, still connected to a mass of cables.
"I'm sorry to keep you waiting, Miorine." Yushura finally said, causing Miorine to spin around. Her expression a mix of recognition and surprise.
"Yushura…wait, what are Suletta and Akatsuki doing here?" Miorine asked, to which Yushura only kept her smile.
"Oh, well. I invite them, I want them to hear this as well." Yushura said, slightly gazing at Barbatos before beginning her tale.
"Okay, let me start from well…the beginning. Miorine and I have been friends since we have been toddlers. And playing house, or knights and princesses. I was either the groom or a knight and she was a princess or a bride, depending on the scenario. Or was it actually the other way around sometimes?" Yushura started, to which both Holders eyed each other perplexed.
"So let me get this straight." Akatsuki began "The whole supposed promise about the groom was-"
Yushura only raised her hand, signalling for the blonde to pause.
"When we were playing together, maybe we said something like that." Yushura only slightly nodded and continued her tale.
"But those days ended abruptly, and we were suddenly separated."
That sentence caused Miorine to scoff, to which Akatsuki only sighed. Knowing what would be the reason.
"It was my damn father's fault! Thanks to that bastard I never got a change to say a proper goodbye to Yushura."
Miorine's words caused Yushura to feel a surge of happiness. She then locked her eyes upon the three of them.
"Three days ago, I ran away from my own wedding and came to Asticassia." She finally stated, causing both Holders and bride's eyes widen.
"What!?"
"Really!?
"I-I, I have no words. Why would you do that!?"
Miorine, Suletta and Akatsuki respectively asked taken aback by the revelation. Each trying to assemble the blocks that were supposed to build reasoning for Yushura's decision.
"You were getting married? To who?" Miorine asked, trying to find among the various young people that could've possible been her fiancé?
"Y-Yushura, you were supposed to get married? And, you ran away…?" Suletta asked, to which Yushura felt the three pairs of judging eyes gazing upon her.
"On that day, I was truly a mess. A real typhoon of emotions. So I ran away, I needed to see Miorine. So I came here, but it's been so long. I didn't know how to face her." Yushura said looking down onto the floor, ashamed.
"You shouldn't worry about that. Are you not feeling right about a person you're meant to marry?" Suletta asked, her mind comparing the situation to when she first arrived here.
"No, they're a good person. Miorine knows them as well." Yushura said with a smile.
"Who?" Miorine asked. To which Yushura only smiled looking up.
"Renvas." Yushura immediately stated, causing Miorine to raise her eyebrows.
"Renvas? Wait, as in Renvas Quain?!" Miorine asked, causing Akatsuki to finally say something.
"Wait, who?" Akatsuki asked, making Miorine turn towards him.
"Essentially a version of you from the Inner Rim. In some parts you two are very similar." Miorine stated.
"She's right." Yushura said. "Renvas is an old friend of my brother's. He and his family are with the Space Assembly League. And my brother wants to marry me off to strengthen the relationship between Langlands and the Assembly League."
Miorine only sighed tiredly before turning towards her grooms.
"In short, the Quains have been at the heart of the Space Assembly League's leadership for generations. It's essentially a move for a political alliance a marriage more about corporate strategy than sentiment." Miorine said, although herself being in a highly-rated political alliance engagement, which happened on accident.
But still she realised how much the realisation of the CEO's daughter marrying the son of the head of the Martian Government shook the whole group. Of course many parents would try to marry their children off into a marriage of similar calibre.
"That takes me back. I remember when all of us were kids. He seemed decent enough back then. So, I guess the issue is Yushetas?" She then asked, to which Yushura nodded.
"Yes, although I can understand him." Yushura said earning a confused look from three onlookers before continuing. "After our parents died, all his dreams were ripped away from him in an instant. And the board of directors kept trying to engage him with different women. He tries so hard to cope with the pressure. And I thought I would take some of that burden from him."
Yushura only smiled, for the last few years they've been alone. She never seen her brother actually smile whenever they were holding company meetings or when he visited R&D laboratories. Only times she actually saw him happy was either him flying around in Mobile Suits, or when he locked himself in his office to pursue his second hobby, music.
Miorine saw the sad smile that rested on her friend's face, she walked up to her.
"So, what do you want to do?" She asked. To which Yushura only remained mute.
"It's okay, you are your own person. You should do what you want." Miorine said reassuring her.
"You haven't changed a bit, Miorine." Yushura said smiling.
"You have someone to talk to now, right?" Miorine asked.
"Yes, you do now!" Suletta said in support, pushing Akatsuki's arm in order to get him to nod as well.
Although, having the support of three of them helped. Yushura's hesitation kept lingering, mirroring the turmoil within her.
"Ha. Having both of Asticassia's Holders and daughter of the CEO support is reassuring. But like I said, I can't ignore Renvas and Yushetas."
"You'll come up with something, I'm sure of it." Miorine then added, making Suletta and Akatsuki nod as well.
"Thank you, Miorine, thank all of you. I promise I'll do everything I can to help you." Akatsuki continue to swing his newly received sword, testing how it behaved in combat while Suletta, Miorine, Nika, Chuchu, Miru, Damon and Hibiki watched. Like Yushura said, the material transport would still take a day to arrive on the following morning. So, Akatsuki used this time to himself, so he kept testing his gift's abilities. Such as discovering that with enough fiddling the blade could truly act like a master key, adjusting to every lock he tested the sword on.
"Wow, I don't get how is it possible that a sword that's something akin to ice can feel so…natural." He said before making the blade disappear. Just as he did that a shuttle entered the hangar. Finally putting the last piece of the puzzle that was the tri-corporate collaboration.
They watched the cargo hold being unloaded, as many containers containing ferrofluid and organic ferromagnets. But what caught their attention were the MS carrying containers.
"Wait, isn't that the one that you were supposed to duel with it, Suletta?" Chuchu asked, noticing the pink mobile suit container. Not noticing Hibiki and Akatsuki's eyes light up. After all both of them were Mobile Suit nerds.
"I think so, Yushura mentioned it was prototype she was developing with the help of her brother." Suletta said, before finally noticing Akatsuki and Hibiki's facial expressions.
Miorine meanwhile, welcomed Yushura back. Surprised by the amount of equipment she brought.
"I've visited the Lapis Garden few times when I was little, but back then it felt like a vacation home. Did they move the research facilities there?" Miorine asked.
"Yes, core assets, equipment and R&D departments were moved to the Garden when I became CTO, among many other things. You really should come and visit one day." Yushura said, all while the sky-blue mobile suit slowly begun to appear from the underground section of the hangar, slowly raising into the Earth House.
"Gentlewomen, Gentlemen. May I present the future pride of Langlands, the Witalliqus!" Yushura proudly exclaimed showing off the suit with her free hand.
"So, you and Yushetas teamed up with Jeturk to build this?" Miorine asked, her hands resting on her hips.
"Well…starting our own R MS Department complete with our own development was a bit too difficult." Yushura explained, it made sense. After all it was their first Mobile Suit.
"I can see that." Miorine said. "But you are absolutely sure we can borrow this?"
Yushura only smiled hearing her friend's request.
"Of course."
But before the CTO could continue, the voice of Director Chain boomed from the second floor of the corridor.
"Chief Yushura, can we trust you being the security?" She asked, to which Yushura only showed her a thumbs up.
"Absolutely! Without a single doubt." Yushura said with a smile, completely omitting the concern from Yaya. But Chain didn't even notice it before she turned towards Akatsuki.
"Mister Augus, will you be able to operate the telescope?" She asked, causing Akatsuki to turn towards Hibiki and Nika, who both gave a nod of confirmation.
"I guess so." He replied, earning a smirk from Chain.
"If your team managed to fully tune it then just as according to the feedback I'm receiving everything should be just fine." Chain said. "Just gaze though it naturally, as if you are watching stars in the night sky."
Hearing that, Akatsuki only smirked. Folding his hands into fists. He was now well rested and ready. For whatever this test would throw at him.
In a sector not too far away from the Front's spaceport, everything was going according to the set plan. The Optical Institute vessel flying behind Barbatos, which was guided by the Witalliqus. As it also guided its unconnected cords and cables, which would be connected with the exposed head.
The now refurbished telescope, now with integrated magnetic fluids. Served as a signed of the joint venture of three companies, which was achieved in under half a day. It was operational, as Akatsuki didn't report any buzzing or problem with sensors. Meanwhile on the bridge, the staff of GUND-ARM INC. plus Vivian, who was there to keep an eye on Barbatos. Were holding their breaths in anticipation.
"I hope everything goes well." Martin muttered out, just as paranoid as ever.
"Don't be so scared. Nika and Miss Hibiki alongside the rest of the team poured their maximum into this project." Lilique quickly added, turning towards Nika who was looking at her notepad, and Hibiki who was monitoring Barbatos's stats alongside Vivian.
"It's more thanks to Director Chain and Yushura. Also miss Vivian who helped on getting Barbatos under control." Nika explained. As meanwhile outside in the void. The sheet once again transformed into the telescope. The Witalliqus quickly connected the cables, as meanwhile Akatsuki was checking on multiple screens the performance and the sonar.
"Fumitan, do you detect any problems from the bios, any buzzes of the scanner?" Akatsuki asked.
"Negative, no enemy signals or interference with the connecting device." Fumitan AI said, making Akatsuki carefully nod.
"Is that right Vivian?" Akatsuki asked, as meanwhile the senior Turbine was looking over multiple windows on her screen.
"Supposedly, yes. But keep reporting any bugs." Vivian said, feeling the fatigue of helping her sister catching up with her. That and she couldn't smoke on board.
"Roger." He reported, as meanwhile the rest of the staff were receiving feedback from the telescope.
"Vitals are coming back. Although Yushura's readings show a bit of tension." Aliya said, to which Till nodded, as he himself was checking feedback.
"But still within normal parameters." He reassured, that was enough for Chain, who radioed both of the suits.
"Chain here, are you ready?" She asked on the common channel.
"No interference or errors, we're ready." Akatsuki said speaking for himself and Barbatos.
"Ready whenever." Yushura said as well. As meanwhile both she and Akatsuki shared a nod though a communication channel in their cockpits.
"Alright then, since the sun is behind us. Let's observe Mars. Mister Augus, please direct Barbatos towards Mars." Chain, to which Akatsuki smiled knowing that he would be able to see his home from up close.
"Mars it is. Yaya, please send us the coordinates." Yushura asked.
"Yes, Lady Yushura." Yaya said. Earning a chuckle from the CTO.
"Remember Yaya, I'm acting as the Chief Technical Officer at the moment." Yushura said, with a smile.
"Oh, my apologies." Yaya quickly relapsed into her work mode, quickly sending and transmitting the coordinates to the Witalliqus which in turn transmitted the coordinates to Barbatos.
"Alright Mister Augus, the telescope will auto-track, so just concentrate on the observation part."
"Right, let's do it." Akatsuki said gripping the sticks tight.
"Alright, activate the Aglaonice Space Telescope!" Chain gave her command, seemingly accurate to the millisecond all the information that was captured by the telescope flooded into Barbatos's cockpit. For Akatsuki, it felt like an otherworldly experience.
The one thing he could compare it to would be the transfer to Inferno Mode, but then it lasted for only few seconds. Here he felt as if his body was being pushed by a giant rocket. All while his perception was being stretched like a piece of rubber. He opened his visor, as he was experiencing motion sickness while sitting still. He felt as if his heart would explode.
"His GUND-Reception and BPM is raising beyond charts!" Vivian said, to which Miorine quickly turned towards Chain.
"We need to cut the test, he's going to have a cardiac arrest!" Miorine said. Something that Akatsuki heard.
"No! Keep going, I got this!" Akatsuki reported as Suletta begun to shake, her face now pale white with worry.
"Idiot! You'-" Miorine was quickly cut off.
"I don't give a damn if you slap me later. Carry on!" Akatsuki screamed as everyone watched the view of the cockpit. As it shown distant stars, but only the screen kept flickering as if it had seizure.
"Don't worry Mister Augus, it's only because of the different camera behaviour. Try to rearrange and readjust the focus on the lens." Chain said, all while Suletta seemed to glare daggers at her and Miorine felt flabbergasted.
"Fine!" Akatsuki said, letting out a deep sigh before blinking. In an instant a crystalline image of Mars appeared in front of him.
"Wow…home." He thought out loud, probably for the first time seeing his home from such a perspective. But seeing it like beautiful shining red ruby, that was something else.
"I wonder if I can see my house from here?" He then reported earning a chuckle from Chain.
"If you knew the exact coordinates then maybe." Chain said. "How is the view from your end?"
"Breathtaking." He reported back.
"It's…breathtaking I guess we can call it from our end as well." Miorine reported.
"Yes, it's good progress. Alright Mister Augus. Carefully adjust the telescope's focus and try to locate Phobos. It should be in the upper left in your current view. Chief Yushura, could you please adjust the telescope?"
"Understood. Akatsuki, are you feeling well?"
"Yeah, go ahead. I'll just need to eat more nutrients, at least I didn't break any bones this time." Akatsuki reported back before taking off his helmet and wiping sweat off his forehead.
"Fine, I'm moving it slowly." Yushura said, not fully convinced by Akatsuki's tone. As it was insinuated by silent stutters and grunts.
"Are you sure you're ok?" She once again asked, hearing only a chuckle from Akatsuki.
"Yeah, wait. What is that!?" Akatsuki asked as immediately Barbatos's eyes lit up red.
"What the? Barbatos? Come on tell me what's going on?" He asked as he felt that something was wrong, and it was fully confirmed by the sound of the radar. All while outside Barbatos's eyes were now fully red and letting out sparks, with the GUND-Receptors lighting up and the GUND-Bits leaving their resting spots, covering Barbatos.
"What's happening?" Chain asked with a stern tone, as meanwhile Yushura kept reading off what Barbatos was reporting.
"There is something big out there, it's moving, a transport ship?" Yushura asked herself.
"I'm readjusting focus!" Akatsuki reported trying to calm the suit down, using the fact it was still connected to the telescope to see what was going on. Based on his eye movements the magnetic fluid readjusting, allowing both him and the whole crew to see what seemingly caused Barbatos to go haywire. An irregularly shaped rock, continuously moving and approaching at fast speed, making it difficult to zoom in.
"Analyse it, quickly!" Chain ordered her researchers. It didn't take long before a researcher handed her a notepad, and it caused her to put her hand over her mouth.
"What is it?" Miorine quickly asked.
"We've just uncovered something amazing, a stroke of luck, although one of apocalyptic proportions. We are looking at an asteroid, about 200 meters long, millions of tons of heavy, with a relative velocity of about 800 kilometres per second. There's no such ship in this region of space. It has to be an asteroid." Chain quickly explained, causing various reactions on board the ship. Mostly revolving around the prospect of front annihilation.
"How is that lucky!?" Akatsuki then asked.
"If it continues on its current trajectory. It will pass through this area surrounding the school Front. We would need precise calculations, but there is a chance it could collide with several Fronts, including this one. It's fortunate we discovered it before then."
"It's going to smash though the front with ease…" Damon said.
"We're looking at major damage." Miorine murmured.
"And hundreds dead." Vivian added, meanwhile Akatsuki felt not only the sense of dread from the asteroid but also another tingling his back. One thing he was sure was sure was that they needed a plan to deal with it, and to deal with it now.
CHAPTER 21: END
CHAPTER 21: EPILOGUE
Meanwhile the asteroid continued on its pace. It was weird that for years it was located or shot down before. Instead remaining unbothered for over 300 years. Until today, the long distance telescope was a marvel of technology. But as any modern piece of tech it utilised permet for its data transmission, normally that wouldn't be a problem. But with it being a Gundam Frame, just as the zoom reached the asteroid, it caused a ruckus inside of the asteroid's cavern system.
Seemingly from nowhere, a small hill inside of the asteroid began to crack and fall apart. Reacting upon the received data stream. The rocks made way for a silver paintjob, finally revealing the metallic contraption that was hiding for the last 300 years.
It looked like a metallic turtle, with metallic geometrical tendrils ended with spikes. On the top there resided a giant old type beam canon. One that in its day probably destroyed hundreds of ships before hiding from Agnika Kieru and his banded together group of Paladins.
For a second it remained static, before it's five red eyes lit up.

CHAPTER 21: EPILOGUE: END
A/N: Yeah, you know the drill. It's been a while. But I'm hoping this which is as I'm reading the longest in DI plus the ending/cliffhanger made it worth the weight. The anticipated moment finally came. Miorine's business endeavour indirectly caused awaking of a metallic eldritch evil incarnate. And remember what last time happened when this universe had to deal with a Mobile Armour. So yeah, so the next chapter will be the ending of this filler arc, and we're ending it with a bang. And from that point on we'll get though the last episodes of season 1. Before starting the last filler arc of this story. Now you're probably wondering why it took me so long, mostly because of the fact there is a looming threat of approaching finals in school, which will decide if I get a shot at college or not. So of course I spent more time worrying about that and studying then writing. Add to that many of my private problems, and feeling as my whole life falls apart under my own feet. But I'll try to make place for this and New Genesis: Recharged. As those are stories with highest amount of readers. So please understand, and I myself fully understand your frustration. Which is the reason why I am trying to reward it to you. Most notably by upgrading my writing style to make it more…clean? So that it won't be just blocks of text anymore. But that's it for now, next time. We'll get resolution and Akatsuki's battle with Nemamiah, alongside other plot threads that were left hanging. Take care and until next time! And as always I don't own Gundam, that belongs to Bandai and Sunrise.
