After finishing their dinner, taking a refreshing shower, and changing into their cozy PJs, The Powerpuff Girls gathered on the living room couch with a large, warm blanket, cuddling with each other as they enjoyed the rest of the Mighty Force show. Their late-night cartoon marathon continued well past the end of the Mighty Force episode, with the trio immersed in various other animated adventures.
At 1:30 a.m., Bubbles and Buttercup had dozed off. Their light snoring matching the nightly ambiance set in the living room.
Only Blossom remained awake, completely absorbed in her book about Quantum Physics. Taking advantage of her sisters' deep slumber, she used their large round heads as a makeshift bookstand. Her crossed legs under her sisters' heads were their support.
As the Pink Powerpuff anxiously flipped through the remaining 3 chapters of the book out of a staggering total of 78, she couldn't help but feel frustrated by her lack of progress in solving the mystery of the Gangreen Gang. "I wish this book offered more than just speculations about Quantum effects at the Macro-scale...," she sighed.
While turning the pages, Bubbles, who often talked in her sleep, began to mumble loudly, causing the book's pages to flip back.
Amused by this unexpected interruption, Blossom took it as a sign to call it a night. Before joining her sisters in dreamland, she made a quiet trip to check on their father, skillfully slipping past their snug embrace and floating down to the basement of the house.
"No... can't be a temperature gradient... held by neutron degeneracy pressure?" The Professor, sleeping heavily on the workbench, mumbled to himself. With every other slow exhale, he would mumble something else.
Blossom made her way to Utonium's side with a bright smile from hearing her dad's scientific rambling. While placing herself under The Professor's arm and floating up to lift him slowly from his work chair, Blossom quietly said, "Hehe, from all your mumbling, I say you already figured out what's going on with the Gangreen Gang."
The pink Powerpuff easily guided her dad to the master bedroom and got him lying on the bed with the blankets comfortably over him. After letting out a big yawn, Blossom was about to float out of the room but stopped when hearing more of her dad's rambling.
"Quantum entanglement... been proven to have effects over... *Snore* vast distances..." The Professor laid on his side, having his back turned to his daughter, his sleep deepening.
Blossom placed a hand to her chin as she thought out, "Quantum entanglement eh?" Seemingly having renewed energy, she flew back to the living room couch to sit in between her sleeping sisters' again. She flipped through the pages of the science book till she got to the last chapter which boldly displayed 'Quantum Entanglement and Theories'. Seeing those words brought a smile to the pink Powerpuff as she continued to read throughout the whole night.
Buttercup stirred restlessly in her sleep, a look of discomfort on her face. "Nnn... it doesn't smell so appetizing now..." She muttered, her words muffled by the blanket that enveloped her throughout the night. She squirmed and shifted, until finally, she sat up with a disgusted expression. "Urgh!" The green Powerpuff groaned, perturbed by the unpleasant odor that had invaded her dreams. "Bleh, this place smells like feet!" she grumbled while pushing the blanket away from her face, only to find Bubbles' foot inadvertently stuck to her nose. Still half-asleep, Buttercup swatted the foot away without much effort.
Bubbles, having fun in a dream, mumbled under the blanket as her leg was moved to the side, "Oh... I'm sorry, Horsey. I didn't mean to hick the side of you that hard."
As Buttercup let out a big yawn and stretched, she struggled to open her eyes fully, the bright sunlight that flooded the living room through the windows saw to that inconvenience.
The weatherman finished updating Townsville on the weekend forecast. "That's right, Townsville, it looks to be a generally sunny weekend for us as this high-pressure system lingers about in the sky." With a slight anticipation filling the air, he introduced a new segment featuring a live feed of a cell phone store. The scene transitioned seamlessly, revealing a glitzy new cell phone shop preparing for its grand opening.
The camera zoomed in on the store's entrance as the news correspondent, Natalia Jazz, eagerly reported, "Thank you, Mark. Right now it's 12:17 p.m., just 13 minutes before the grand opening of B-Mobile, the new and extravagant cell phone store provider that has all the latest models." The screen lit up with a dazzling display of the newest cell phone models, capturing the attention of TV viewers across Townsville.
The sight of the sleek cell phones on the screen stirred Buttercup from her sleepy daze. She was immediately captivated, her eyes filled with wonder as she beheld the array of cutting-edge technology being showcased. "Whoa, those look so cool!" she exclaimed, unable to tear her gaze away from the TV screen.
Buttercup's vigorous movements stirred Bubbles from her slumber. The blonde Powerpuff groggily lifted her head from the cozy blanket, emitting a loud yawn before rubbing her right eye.
At the same time, the Professor strolled into the living room, holding the morning newspaper. "Ah, it seems you girls are finally waking up," he remarked.
Eagerly, Buttercup zoomed over to her dad, her eyes shining with enthusiasm. "Dad, can we please get a phone?! There's a grand opening sale at the new B-Mobile store!" She gestured animatedly at the television screen.
A portly, slick-talking salesman with a distinct New York accent and dressed in smart casual attire took center stage on the TV screen. "Behold, the My-Phone 10! A marvel of modern technology, boasting a sleek design. Normally priced at $399.99, for the grand opening week of B-Mobile, it's available for just $119.99! And if you're looking to save even more, we've got a fantastic family plan option!" The salesman's pitch was accompanied by the eager movements of a cameraman capturing every word. "With our family plan, you can get four of these exquisite phones for just $222.99! It's an unbeatable deal!"
Utonium hesitated when he heard the steep price, feeling apprehensive about the request. "Oh, I don't know, Sweetie..."
Buttercup refused to give up. She was determined that this was the best chance to get a phone. "But it will be a good way for you to keep in contact with us at any time. Please, please, please!"
"Well, I do often worry about you girls' whereabouts." Utonium began to rub his chin, lost in thought.
"Exactly! So what do you say?!" Buttercup beamed, feeling like she had finally gotten through The Professor's objections.
"Fine, fine." Utonium's face lit up at the sight of his daughters leaping in excitement. "But on the condition that I set limits on your phone usage. I don't want any of you girls getting distracted from your schoolwork."
"That's fine with me! Weeee! Yeah!" Buttercup was overjoyed with the plan. She leaped up and down on the living room couch, causing her sisters to bounce along with her, sharing in the excitement.
Blossom had her face buried in the pages of her book when she sleepily lifted her head, disturbed by all the bouncing. Her morning hair was in a messy state, unintentionally giving her a grumpy look. "Hey, I'm still trying to sleep here..."
"No time for sleep! We're getting phones today! Yay!" Bubbles dashed to their bedroom, followed by Bubbercup, their excitement still echoing through the house.
"What...? Really?" Blossom rubbed her tired eyes and looked toward The Professor. "But didn't you say we weren't ready to have phones?"
Utonium nodded slightly. "Yes, I did, but your sister brought up a good point that I need to keep in touch with you three when you're out there fighting and solving mysteries."
An exhausted yawn came from Blossom before she added, "And we can take videos and pictures of what we see out there and send them to you."
"Exactly. So we going to Townsville to get you girls one. I'll be waiting in the car." The Professor strolled away from the living room after turning over a page in his newspaper.
With her eyes still half-closed, Blossom shifted her gaze to the TV, which was still displaying a montage of phones with the same salesman pitching the sale loudly. One of the phones caught her attention - it resembled an Android phone with a glossy red cover. As it displayed a green and then a light blue covering afterward, Blossom knew it was the perfect phone for her and her sisters. "The Kin phone..." She repeated the name, did a deep stretch, and slowly floated up to the bedroom.
"I'm so excited to finally get my first phone! I can't wait to download a bunch of games and show them off to everyone at school. They're going to be so jealous of us!" Exclaimed Buttercup confidently from inside the closet.
Meanwhile, Bubbles was seated at the edge of the bed, carefully putting on a crisp white sock on her left foot, followed by the right. "I'm going to create a collection of adorable animal pictures and learn how to draw them even better!" She declared with enthusiasm.
Blossom stood in the bathroom, diligently brushing her teeth, but her mind kept wandering back to that sleek, red phone she had seen. The urge to get her hands on it was overwhelming. Eager to share her excitement, she quickly finished brushing her teeth with super speed. After rinsing, she turned to her sisters and exclaimed, "We should get the Kin phones, girls!"
Buttercup poked her head out from the closet and asked, "Does it look cool? Is it sleek?"
Channeling the same style of the charismatic salesman from the TV ad, Blossom responded with equal enthusiasm, "Oh yes! It's luxurious and an opportunity we can't afford to miss!"
Bubbles couldn't help but giggle at her sisters' playful imitation of the TV salesman.
The Powerpuff Girls hurried to put on their vibrant dresses and dashed to the garage, where their father was waiting in the driver's seat of the car.
"Remember to buckle up, girls," reminded The Professor as he activated the mechanism to open the garage door and set off on their journey to Townsville.
As they made their way along the highway, the trio played a game of I-Spy to make the time pass more quickly.
"I spy something blue, big, and always there during the daytime," Bubbles exclaimed with enthusiasm as she peered out of the car window.
Buttercup, seated in the middle, let out a dramatic sigh before responding, "The sky...?"
Bubbles praised her green sister, "Wow, Buttercup, you're super good at this game!"
"Bubbles, you always choose the most obvious things, like the road or trees..." Buttercup shifted her attention to her other sister. "It's your turn."
Instead of playing, Blossom was deeply immersed in thoughts about Quantum Physics. Her pink eyes gazed out the window with the aloof expression of a daydreamer, completely oblivious to Buttercup and even The Professor calling her name for a few moments. She finally snapped out of it when Buttercup waved her hand in front of her face. "H-Huh? Yes?"
"You still here on Earth?" Buttercup asked sarcastically while sitting back down.
Utonium glanced at Blossom through the rearview mirror, concern etched on his face. "Are you doing okay, sweetie?"
Blossom nodded. "I'm fine, just lost in thought. I didn't mean to worry you guys."
"It's coo'. Are you still playing or what?" Buttercup asked. Her tone was more genuine now.
As Blossom gazed into the distance, she spotted a black Jeep adorned with a spare wheel neatly affixed to the rear door. "I spy with my little eye the 6th wheel that every car has," she announced.
Both Bubbles and Buttercup looked perplexed and, in unison, asked, "The 6th wheel?"
"Indeed, and every car has it," Blossom replied with a hint of a smile, observing her sisters scanning the interior of the car.
Bubbles glanced at The Professor and believed she had found the answer. "Oh! It must be the steering wheel!"
"Nope," Blossom confidently countered.
"Hmm..." Bubbles furrowed her brow, even more bewildered than before.
Buttercup got up on her knees and glanced out the back window. All she could see were other cars driving behind them and a thick forest on the side of the highway. It was frustrating not being able to spot an extra wheel on any of the vehicles. Just as she was about to voice her frustration, she caught sight of something that had six wheels. "Ha! Found it! I spy a helicopter approaching from above!"
Bubbles leaned out the window and looked back. "Oh, I see it too! It looks so fancy!"
"I said the 6th wheel on a CAR, not on a helicooOOOOO!" Suddenly, the sisters were sent tumbling in their seats. "P-Professor?! What's going on?!"
Utonium was just as confused as her daughters while he struggled to keep the car from swerving off the road. "S-Sorry, girls! There's some t-turbulence on the road?!"
From her point of view, Bubbles could see a lavishly adorned helicopter flying perilously close to the highway. Its metallic exterior gleamed in the sunlight, embellished with a golden sheen, and the logo 'MB' emblazoned on both doors. "It's a BIG helicopter!" She exclaimed, her blonde hair billowing in the wake of the powerful aircraft as it soared past the car.
Blossom leaned out of the car's other window and caught a glimpse of the helicopter as it passed overhead. Her brows knitted with slight anger. "Hey, watch where you're flying that thing!"
What looked to be a girl at the same age as The Powerpuff Girls quickly leaped off her seat situated between the pilot and a large, overweight man, most likely her father. Upon reaching the exit hatch door to the side, it opened automatically to reveal Princess Morbucks. Her double puffy hair ponytails flopped about from the winds passing the helicopter. From her point of view, she could see The Powerpuff Girls poking their heads out of Utonium's car windows from the highway below. "Ha! Of course, it would be The Powerpuff Girls telling everyone how to fly!" As she spoke, her bratty, condescending voice was all too evident.
Buttercup's voice cut through the air, edged with aggression. "That's because you could've made us and others drive off the highway, you idiot!"
In response, Morbucks scoffed dismissively. "Pfft, then you peasants should be moving out of MY way!" She stuck her tongue out and blew a loud raspberry while mockingly waving her hands.
Buttercup, her temper flaring, was on the verge of flying out of the car. However, The Professor's hand reached back, halting her. "Don't let her get to you."
"But Professor!" Buttercup protested, unable to bear the taunting.
Utonium skillfully regained control of the vehicle as the massive helicopter flew ahead of them. "I understand, dear... But the boss of the head of my department is aboard that helicopter as well. We can't allow him to believe that his substantial support for scientific research, particularly for my laboratory and division, would have negative repercussions."
A heavy sigh came from Buttercup before she and her sisters sat back down in the car.
"Hahaha! That's right! Follow the rules just like all the other middle-class people and keep your big fat heads in the car!" Morbucks had a big smirk on her face as she continued to berate The Powerpuff Girls regardless of the increasing distance between her and the girls.
As Morbucks made another goofy face, her father gently steadied her with his hand. "Now now, dear, that's enough. It's not very modest of you to let the citizens see you like that," he said, taking a sip of his dark-colored drink.
Morbucks quickly changed her tone, sounding sweet and innocent. "You're right, Daddy. Sorry," she said.
"Argh! I can't stand her!" Buttercup, sitting with her arms crossed, wore an annoyed expression, mirroring the same disapproval with her sisters.
To lift their sour mood, The Professor suggested, "After getting your phones, want to get some ice cream from your favorite candy store?"
The Powerpuff Girls immediately perked up, shouting, "Yeah!" in agreement. Just like Morbucks, their mood shifted as they excitedly discussed the ice cream flavors and candy toppings offered at the store.
The Utonium family finally made it to the city street that leads to the B-Mobile storefront but was greeted by a massive throng of people that extended for several city blocks. The streets in these blocks were jam-packed with people, prompting the police to erect barriers to maintain order. Unfortunately, this resulted in gridlocked traffic, leaving any vehicles attempting to pass through to be at a standstill.
"I hope this traffic clears up in the next 10 minutes..." The Professor, typically very patient, was feeling anxious about being stuck in traffic for potentially over an hour.
"No way we're staying here like this," Buttercup remarked before flying out of the car and effortlessly lifting it over her head. She then glided up and ahead of the heavy traffic.
Unaccustomed to this mode of transportation, The Professor clung to his car seat with a nervous smile. "J-Just be careful not to hit anyone or anything, dear..."
The bustling streets of Townsville were crowded with people vying to get their hands on the latest phone. Bubbles leaned out the window and wondered aloud, "Gosh, do you think everyone in Townsville is here, trying to get a phone too?"
Blossom noticed the large gathering of citizens and even a significant presence of the police force, maintaining order. "It does seem a little strange that it's this packed just for a new store," she remarked.
"Oh no, some of our classmates must be down there then! Don't tell me they're getting phones too!" Buttercup knew she wouldn't be special if everyone in class had a phone as well. At the same time, the green Powerpuff was struggling to find a parking spot near the cell phone store. "Hey, instead of asking why there are all these people here, how about y'all help me find a parking space?" She called out to her sisters. The neighboring parking lots were all full, leaving no space for the car.
Blossom and Bubbles had half of their bodies leaning out of their respective windows now to survey the area, but they couldn't see any available parking spaces.
"Oh, you've got to be kidding me!" Buttercup's voice was slightly muffled from under the car.
"What is it now?" Blossom asked.
While floating back down to the ground, Buttercup answered, "Princess More-privileged and her stupid helicopter is parked in front of the store!"
The distinguished owner of the store, a successful businessman of Asian heritage, was dressed in an impeccably tailored dark red business suit. His attire was complete by a rose tucked in the shirt pocket. He warmly welcomed the Morbucks, expressing gratitude for their esteemed presence at the unveiling. "Thank you for gracing the grand opening of my store, Mr. and Princess Morbucks. It's a shame that your lavish wife couldn't join us for this occasion."
"Ah, Mih, you mentioned that my daughter's new phone was ready. However, I didn't anticipate you revealing your new store to the public just yet..." Mr. Morbucks' disappointment was palpable in his tone.
Mih was quick to respond, trying to quell the disapproval in the stern gentleman's voice. "I completely understand, but the public should know who made all of this possible. Furthermore..." Mih's attention was suddenly diverted as something caught his eye, prompting him to gasp and gesture to the sky. "I believe we needed two main attractions for this grand opening!"
As the crowd's attention turned to Mih's pointing finger, a wave of excitement swept through them.
Buttercup gracefully descended to the ground and positioned Utonium's car opposite Morbuck's helicopter.
Princess Morbucks wasted no time in voicing her disapproval of The Powerpuff Girls' arrival. "You don't need phones! You have superpowers!" She protested.
"And you have too many phones already! Why on Earth would you need another one?!" Buttercup retorted with equal fervor.
Blossom and Bubbles quickly rallied to their sister's side, while Utonium approached Mr. Morbucks with an outstretched hand. "I never expected to see you here, sir."
Mr. Morbucks didn't even bother extending his hand to shake Utonium's. His attention was solely focused on The Powerpuff Girls. "So these are the three superorganisms that you've been raving about. The ones that my precious daughter has to put up with in school."
Blossom couldn't help but mumble to herself, "Put up with...?" How dare this arrogant, overweight man insinuate that it was her and her sisters causing trouble when it's always the Princess stirring up mischief.
"Yes, and these three also saved one of your villas from being destroyed by a giant mutated lizard just last week, if I recall." The Professor swiftly came to his girls' defense, deflecting the subtle insult and reminding Mr. Morbucks one of the numerous times they had bailed out his many investments.
"True, true." Mr. Morbucks seized the opportunity to gain some extra publicity in front of a large crowd and numerous TV cameras. "Princess, dear, how about you make nice with The Powerpuff Girls?"
"But Daddy!" Princess Morbucks had no real reason to dislike The Powerpuff Girls, apart from her extreme jealousy of their superpowers. But when she noticed her father's growing stern expression, which the cameras couldn't capture, Morbucks thought twice before voicing further complaints. With a sigh, she lazily extended her hand toward the girls. "Tch... I hope your phones can help you with your superhero antics!"
Bubbles, being the most gullible, wholeheartedly believed that Morbucks was being sincere. She eagerly extended her hand to shake the Princess's hand. "Oh, thank you! What kind of phone are you getting?"
"A much better phone than you!" Morbucks was quick to snatch her hand away. "It will be like a superhero all on its own compared to the cheap, off-brand phones you stupid girls are-" Her snide comment stopped in its tracks when hearing her dad clear his throat loudly. The Princess got the warning and instead said, "I m-mean it doesn't matter what kind of phone I get. What matters is everyone can get an affordable phone now!" She turned to the crowd with her hands up.
The crowd, completely enthralled by Princess Morbucks as usual, erupted into loud cheers and whistles.
Amidst the excitement, Mih stepped forward, brandishing giant scissors to cut the red tape around the store entrance. With a swift snip, B-Mobile was officially open to the public.
Before the Utonium family could even start browsing the many isles of phones on display, they were called by Mih to join him and the Morbucks in his office. Before they knew it, security guards led the family to the office within the store.
Professor Utonium, along with his three daughters, expressed their confusion with facial expressions but didn't say anything.
As soon as both families were in his office, Mih revealed, "Just like The Morbucks here, I had my manufacturers make you and The Powerpuff Girls special phones. It's the least I can do for the countless times you four saved Townsville."
"WHAT?!" Princess Morbucks could not believe she was hearing. Her cheeks flared red with building anger. "They're superheroes! They should only get phones all the working class gets!"
"I hear your blight, my dear, but the mass-produced phones we make will break in no time with what The Powerpuff Girls have to fight." Mih soon reached into a cabinet in his desk, slowly pulling out a lavish black tray that held three phones. Each phone had a primary color casing, matching the superheroines.
"Are these the Kin phones from your commercial?" Blossom enthusiastically asked while she and her sisters inspected the phones with intrigue.
The businessman nodded to the question, "Indeed they are. But with extra durability in its casing~ It will need it to withstand the many fights you all get into."
Morbucks crossed her arms. Jealousy was written all over her pouty face as she watched the girls get giddy with their new phones. But seeing Mih handing over a black gift box, her sour attitude did a 180 again. Her hands instantly grabbed the box and wasted no time ripping the wrapping to open it.
Everyone, even The Powerpuff Girls, looked as The Princess held up a futuristic phone with a fine, sleek black casing.
All the girls in the room said, "Whoa!" and gathered around the phone. It was a very rare moment indeed as Morbucks and The Powerpuff Girls were all checking their phones together; more specifically, they were checking out what differences each phone had.
As the girls were talking and comparing phones, their fathers were having their conversation.
"So sir, has my request for a personal grant been approved? It's been 3 weeks with no word." Utonium asked.
Mr. Morbucks ignored the question by asking a question of his own, "Utonium, when will you submit a peer-reviewed paper on how Chemical-X is made?"
The Professor quickly explained, "You already know I destroyed those papers after the unfortunate battle for Townsville. Chemical-X is a very unstable element that does more harm than good."
Mr. Morbucks turned his attention back to the girls, "Yet it was able to produce three super beings."
"It was... a 1 and a million chance that it worked on the Powerpuff Girls, sir," Utonium explained.
"You would hold more prestige in your department if you weren't holding back your true intellect." Mr. Morbucks took a drag out of his pipe before continuing, "Any kind of grant or scientific equipment you need could be at your finger tips. That, I can guarantee."
"It's not worth the risks if it means getting my papers accepted faster, sir." The Professor seemingly put his foot down on the matter.
Mr. Morbucks could hear that in Utonium's tone and ended the conversation with, "Right, well more 'urgent' projects needed funding, like Mih's phone store here."
Seeing Mih give a hand wave with a smile and the store outside the office full of customers, Utonium sighed at another failed attempt to get quicker funding. "Right... Well c'mon girls. Let's get y'all that ice cream." His mood sour now, Utonium hoped having a scoop of his favorite cold treat would help ease building frustration.
The Powerpuff Girls didn't hear their dad the first time. Arguing with Princess Morbucks had their full attention.
"Why in the heck would you need an atomic clock inside of your phone?" Blossom questioned.
"So I can have the most accurate GPS and steady path to all the shopping malls I visit around the world, duh! Oh wait, I forgot you super peasants don't know anything about living lavishly like moi." Morbucks was tapping on her phone, rapidly setting it up to her standards.
Watching Morbucks digits quickly yet precisely set up her phone almost looked superhuman to Bubbles. Her blue eyes were wide with awe before she confidently asked, "Can you set up my phone like-"
The Princess was quick to hold up her free hand to Bubble's face. "Nope! You wouldn't even understand most of the apps I would install."
Buttercup slapped the rude hand away and asked in the same rude tone, "Yea, like the kinds of apps you and only 10 people in the world use?"
Princess Morbucks nodded enthusiastically. "Yes exactly! High-end, exclusive apps only for the elite can use. And with this new phone, I'll be the first one to get those Jubilee dex shoes and not that ragged-hair Tabitha from the Trust-Well bank family!"
"Now now, dear, it's not well-behaved of you to insult your friend like so." Mr. Morbucks had to save face at any time he was out in public, especially when his daughter was around. Cameras and the paparazzi are like leeches, ready to drive home any story that could hurt his image or business. The large businessman made his way to the exit of the office.
As Morbucks skipped out of the office, she held the phone in front of her face and exuberantly exclaimed, "You're right, Daddy. You taught me to hold my tongue with my political 'friends'."
Blossom had a look of slight disgust. Never fully understanding why people like Mr. Morbucks could be so rich and powerful, yet be so cold-hearted to everyone that helped get him to be in that position. But feeling the tender hand of her dad's hand upon her back eased that frustration in no time.
"Oh, just before you go, Professor." Mih managed to get Utonium's attention. Letting the Powerpuff Girls walk off as they marveled at their new phones. "I suggest that all your phones do their normal start-up." Seeing Utonium look in confusion, Mih chuckled before explaining, "I suspect you might daddle a little with its circuitry and programs as soon as you can. I must warn you that they are very sensitive phones and can explode if messed with the wrong way."
"Not to worry. I know my way around circuitry and will make sure to not damage or corrupt any of its programs." Utonium's hand was then lightly held by Bubbles. That was the sign for him to leave the store with a wave of goodbye.
Mih waved back, having a wide smile. Behind that gleeful demeanor though, the man was raging internally at The Professor. "Of course, there will be a snag in my perfect plan! That seems to be the nature of things in this mundane reality! But I must remain patient. The Princess will aid in making my plan come into reality faster!" His smirk turned into a crooked grin that was inhumanly wide.
Late evening with the sun just setting over the horizon, creating a dark orange hue in the cloudy sky. A large plot of land in the outskirts of Townsville was the property of one of Mr. Morbucks's estates. The home had a helipad on the roof for the helicopter to land on.
The muffled babble from Princess Morbucks could be heard before the housemaids slid open the door for the girl. Four butlers that accompanied the Morbucks were carrying huge mall bags filled with useless expensive items the Princess picked from the countless malls she and her dad visited.
More housemaids opened the rooftop door for the Morbucks so they could get inside their massive mansion.
"Girl, I knoooooooowwww!" With her feet kicking off the shoes, a maid caught the expensive shoes before they hit the floor, Princess Morbucks went to her room. "I had to share the room with the stupid big-headed heroes but I got a much better phone than them and I made sure to rub that fact in their faces."
"That reminds me, make sure to download the new clothing game asap. It just got an update and you wouldn't guess what dress they just added!" The friend on the other end of the phone had a strong French accent but carried the same bratty tone that Morbucks has.
A sharp gasp came from The Princess. "Shut up! No, they did not!" She put her phone on speaker while searching for the game. While doing so, a screen popped up on the phone displaying a mandatory software update. "Urgh, seriously?!"
"What?" The friend asked.
Princess Morbucks was tapping the home and back repeatedly, hoping to exit out of the update screen but nothing worked. "Girl, I got to do a stupid update. I will call you back when it's done, Lala."
"Alright, don't forget to call me back. You always forget." Lala then hung up the phone.
Morbucks tapped the continue button for the update and that's when it showed it's a 10 gigabytes update. "Are you kidding me?!" She pinched the bridge of her nose out of annoyance before placing the phone on the side of her double-king-sized bed. "Might as well take a shower." She stormed off the bed.
After taking her shower and then watching some TV with her dad in the lavish living room, Princess Morbucks fell asleep on her dad's lap some hours later.
There was only one thing Mr. Morbucks always found more important than money in life and that was his daughter. He lightly rubbed the side of her head before scooping her up with his large left arm. He sat up from his custom-made comfy chair recliner and made his way to the Morbuck's room. "Have a good night, Princess." He slowly got his daughter into bed.
Morbucks mumbled something while cuddling one with her many stuffed toys that were strewn about on the bed.
The words 'Dad' and 'Love' were all Mr. Morbucks needed to hear from his daughter's incoherent dream-talk to put a smile on his face and exit the room.
Princess Morbucks's phone was lying right next to her. Still updating with a progress bar of 76% complete, it showed a red screen all of a sudden. The eerie light filled the entire room but somehow didn't wake the Princess. A new app, one that the world had never heard of before, was being downloaded onto the phone. The symbol of the new app was unnerving, to say the least: showing a goat icon with horns. Its sickly fingers were lying over the camera app after the update was done.
This eldritch-like update happened to all the phones within Townsville that night. All expect four phones residing in Utonium's home.
"There, now these phones are optimized." The Professor was still working in his basement lab in the late-night hours. Bags under his eyes indicate the signs of tiredness but he refused to sleep until the vocal record was saved. Yawning and then holding his pen closer, he continued, "The phones should last one week between charges and not break so easily with the girls handling them." The trash can next to him was filled with wires and components that were once in the phone. Utonium hadn't noticed the strange setup some of the pieces were in, mainly because he was too tired to notice. If he did, he might have wondered why Mih made their phones in such a way.
The Professor slowly placed the pen down on the workbench, making the pen's internal voice recorder turn off. With another yawn, he grabbed three phones and exited the lab to head to his daughters' room.
Utonium opened their door quietly, to not disturb the three sleeping on the bed. He was just as quiet with his walking towards Blossom's side of the bed so he could place the phones on the nightstand. The Professor smiled, seeing how peaceful The Powerpuff Girls looked sleeping. He turned around and then his hand was held once again. This time it was Blossom.
"Were you able to put a Quantum clock for my phone?" Blossom's eyes remained closed while asking with a tired voice.
The Professor slightly chuckled for he knew his pink daughter must be dreaming while being woken up. "I did, dear. You will always have a better exact time on your phone than anyone else on the planet." His head turned just enough to look back and see a smile on Blossom's restful face. With that, Utonium kissed all three of his daughters' heads goodnight before retiring to his bedroom finally.
