Title: Big Trouble at Sodor High, Part 2
Running as fast as she could down the hallway, Rosie was rushing to her homeroom classroom before she was late. Along the way, without looking where she was going, she smashed into someone.
*SMASH!*
And Rosie was knocked over, along with the person she bumped into.
"I-I'm sorry!" apologized Rosie hastily.
"No, that was my fault," A kind, boyish voice (male) reassured.
"Stanley?"
Yes, it was none other than Stanley Hudswell, another newcomer to Sodor High School. Stanley had short gray hair, and wore an orange shirt with the name 'Stanley' stitched on the front under his school blazer, and white sneakers.
"Heading for homeroom class?" smiled Stanley, "Why don't we go there together?"
"Sure," blushed Rosie, who felt flattered over Stanley noticing her, "We're just about there."
The two students walked off towards their homeroom classroom.
"By the way," said Stanley suddenly, "where were you earlier?"
Rosie grew flustered, "Um… I was helping a friend with something."
"Who was it?" blinked Stanley.
Before Rosie could answer, another voice cut in in order to speak with them.
"Rosie! Stanley! You won't believe who's here today!" The voice of Thomas echoed, causing Rosie and Stanley both to stop. He soon poked his head out the door and noticed his two friends, "There you are! Hurry inside, we have visitors!"
"Huh? Who is it, Thomas?" blinked Stanley.
"Not 'who is it', but 'who are they'! They're Flynn and Belle of the Knapford Fire Department!" revealed Thomas.
"You're kidding," exclaimed Stanley, while Rosie perked up slightly, "They're really here?"
"I wish I was," grinned Thomas excitedly, just before slipping back inside, "Come on, hurry!"
(inside…)
With that said, Stanley and Rosie joined Thomas in their homeroom classroom. Inside, everyone was seated at their desks. And Mr. C., the homeroom teacher, was busy speaking to the class.
"As you know," began Mr. C., "Today we have some special guests to see us from the Knapford Fire Department," He gestured to his right, showing both Flynn Oshkosh and Belle Brighton, "Mr. Flynn Oshkosh, and Ms. Belle Brighton!"
The entire class applauded.
"Good morning, kids," greeted Flynn, as he eyed a few of the students near the back of the classroom—particularly Thomas, Emily, and Percy, "As well as those we've met not long ago."
"That would be us!" called Percy.
"Anyway," Belle spoke up, as she cleared her throat, "Sir Topham Hatt invited us up to the school today to speak to all of the classes about fire and about how to handle it if one were to start in your own home or another building."
"We learned this when we were kids," Gordon muttered to himself.
"Perhaps so, lad," The voice of Flynn replied, causing Gordon to gasp over thinking that the fire chief shouldn't have heard him (Gordon). He then smiled a little bit, "But even now, it's always wise to get a refreshing reminder on the importance of this stuff."
"That's certainly true," agreed Edward.
"Okay, who can tell me what to do if your clothes somehow catch on fire?" started Belle, seeing Duck raise a hand, "Yes, young man?"
"You roll along the ground?" Duck asked hopefully.
Belle clapped, "Correct! It's the technique we all call 'Stop, Drop, and Roll'!"
"Wait a minute," interrupted James, "Shouldn't water help do the same?"
"Very true, James," agreed Belle, "But it's safer to stop what you're doing so you don't let the fire spread to the rest of you."
"Now, if a building you're in is on fire, and you're near a door with the flames on the other side, what should you do?" put in Flynn, before noticing Stanley raising a hand, "Yes, Stanley?"
"Feel the handle. If it's hot, then DON'T open the door," answered Stanley.
"Correct," nodded Flynn.
This lecture and questions went on for at least an hour. As much as Gordon initially disliked having to be reminded about fire safety, it eventually grew on him. As it went on, Emily was working on writing a little something when her pencil broke. Seeing as she was near Thomas, she leaned over and whispered to him.
"Thomas, do you have a spare pencil?" Emily whispered to Thomas.
"Sure," reassured Thomas quietly, handing Emily a pencil.
"Thanks."
Rosie was listening to the lecture when she overheard Thomas and Emily, making her feel upset and jealous. So, she decided to ask him for something.
"Psst! Thomas…" Rosie pressed softly, a little louder since she was not as close to his seat, "Do you have a spare pencil?"
Unfortunately, Mr. C. overheard the pink-haired girl speaking.
"I'm sorry, did you say something, Rosie?" frowned Mr. C..
Lots of people were now staring at Rosie, who felt herself turn red out of embarrassment.
"N-Never mind," Rosie said meekly, "I'm sorry, I'll stay quiet."
Eventually, the bell rang.
"And that's it for today," finished Flynn, "We hope you all enjoyed the lecture."
The class started to depart for their next period. Staying behind for a minute, Rosie was still upset with what happened earlier.
"It's like Thomas didn't seem to pay any attention to me and only paid attention to Emily," she thought to herself, "It's just like Diesel told me."
"Hey, Rosie!" called Stanley, who returned to the classroom and saw that Rosie hadn't left yet. He decided to talk to her and see what was the matter, "Are you feeling okay? You've been quiet since the lecture ended. Wasn't it great that Flynn and Belle visited us today?"
"Yeah," said Rosie dully, "It was even funnier when James tried to flirt with Belle."
"Yeah, what a riot!" laughed Stanley, but then he saw Rosie looking sad again, "H-Hey, is everything okay?"
"Uh, yeah," lied Rosie, "Everything's fine."
"Sure doesn't look that way to me," denied Stanley, now very concerned.
Rosie just walked away from him to go to her next class. Stanley watched Rosie leave before frowning over what was the matter with her.
(elsewhere…)
Along the way to science class, Rosie decided to pay a quick visit to the Smelters classroom, aware that Mr. Nodniws would accept a visit from her anytime.
(elsewhere…)
Upon arriving, she opened the door and found Mr. Nodniws seated at his desk looking over several papers. He smiled when he saw Rosie come in.
"Rosie! Come in, come in!" urged Mr. Nodniws pleasantly.
Rosie came in and sat on a nearby chair, still looking very glum over embarrassing herself during the lecture.
"So, how have you been doing this morning?" grinned Mr. Nodniws.
"Homeroom lasted longer than normal today," replied Rosie, "We had two guest speakers come in today. Flynn and Belle of the Knapford Fire Department."
"I see," mused Mr. Nodniws, "It must've been fun."
"It was," smiled Rosie, before her look turned sad again, "It's just that…"
"What?" worried Mr. Nodniws, as he watched Rosie wipe her eyes, "What's the matter?"
"I tried to get Thomas's attention, but he ignored me in favor of Emily," mumbled Rosie.
"Oh dear!" gasped Mr. Nodniws, sounding falsely upset, "I'm very sorry to hear that he's not been such a good friend towards you. Rosie, I know exactly how you feel."
Rosie looked up, "You do?"
"Oh yes," Mr. Nodniws nodded, standing up while remembering his life, "I've been ignored by people throughout my whole darn life. Must be because of my arm or something," He referred to his casted arm, "It honestly annoys me to no end!"
"That's terrible!" cried Rosie.
"Indeed," sighed Mr. Nodniws, sitting back down.
"I wish there was a way I could help, Mr. Nodniws," sympathized Rosie.
"Sadly, there's not much to do. I'm just very thankful that my students, as well as you, do listen to me."
Mr. Nodniws then looked at the clock, noticing that it was almost 11:00.
"You'd better hurry along, Rosie," requested Mr. Nodniws, "You don't want to be late for your next class."
"My next class is actually near yours," Rosie reassured, getting up, "I have science."
"Well, thank you for stopping by," praised Mr. Nodniws.
Rosie bowed politely and then exited the room. Mr. Nodniws, once Rosie was gone, then smiled sinisterly to himself.
"So, what do you think of this girl?" A new voice (male) echoed in Mr. Nodniws's mind.
"She is perfect, master," chortled Mr. Nodniws mentally, "She's kind, she's caring, and she's truly naive! Just the right bait we need to lure our enemy to us. All we have to do is bide our time."
"Wonderful," rejoiced the voice (male) again, "A girl with such a heart shall be easy to manipulate."
Mr. Nodniws sneered at the thought of Rosie being helpful to him.
(elsewhere…)
Later on, it was lunch time in the cafeteria, and Rosie had just gotten her food. Soon, she spotted Thomas getting his own food.
"Hey, Thomas!" Rosie yelled out.
"Oh, hi, Rosie," greeted Thomas, as Rosie walked over to talk to him, "Did you need something from me in homeroom?"
"O-Oh, it was nothing," Rosie blushed, before her face grew hopeful, "I was wondering if you're free this weekend?"
But to her disappointment…
"Sorry, Rosie," responded Thomas, "Flynn and Belle are having a big spring yard sale at the Fire Department that weekend," As he revealed the reason for having to say no, images of Percy, Lady, Emily, Toby, and Mavis appeared in the background, "They've asked me and a few others to help them out while the rest of the department is on alert."
"Can't I at least go with you and help?" asked Rosie hurtfully, which made Thomas feel worse, "Why do you always have to be too busy to hang out with me? I'm your friend, too! Don't you even care about me?"
"O-Of course I do," Thomas stammered, sounding surprised, "But I've already told you that I'm not ready for a girlfriend."
"Then why do you always hang around with Emily?" demanded Rosie, with her feelings hurt.
"She is one of my closest friends," reminded Thomas, "You remember when she told you and Stanley about what happened to her several years ago, right?"
Rosie recoiled, "Y-Yeah."
"Well, we've been close ever since I helped her stop being bossy," frowned Thomas, "I would never throw any of my friends away. But I would never turn down the chance to help someone, either."
"I understand," whispered Rosie, growing sadder.
Thomas, feeling even more sorry for Rosie, then walked away with his food and a guilty look on his face. Nearby, Stanley watched Rosie approach another table to eat on her own. Although he still didn't know her all that well, he felt something in his heart that told him he should try doing something for her.
(elsewhere…)
Later at the end of the day, Rosie paid the Smelters classroom another visit. Inside, some of the Smelter Teens were busy trying to fix up the broken equipment.
"Hello again, my dear!" waved Mr. Nodniws cheerfully, "How was the rest of today?"
"It was okay, I guess," sighed Rosie.
"Let me guess…Thomas?" guessed Mr. Nodniws, hoping he would get the spark he needed, "Come on, tell Mr. Nodniws what's troubling you."
Rosie initially didn't say anything. She just nodded sadly. Suddenly, there was a yelping sound coming from a few of the Smelter Teens in the backroom.
"OW!" The voice of Dart exclaimed, "Who put those tools there?!"
"Dart, do be careful!" The voice of Den scolded, "Sheesh! There's not much room here in the back!"
Mr. Nodniws and Rosie both went into the backroom, where they found Den and Dart arguing over something.
"I know! But surely there's enough room to put their tools away! You know we've said hundreds of times already that we need a bigger room than this!" ranted Dart.
"SILENCE!" shouted Mr. Nodniws.
This subdued Den and Dart both into silence—although it was more out of fear than actual respect. At first, Rosie was surprised by the anger Mr. Nodniws expressed when ordering Den and Dart to be quiet, but that surprise was lost when she peeked around the backroom.
"Wow, this room is a lot smaller than I first thought," commented Rosie.
"Indeed," confirmed Mr. Nodniws unhappily, "We wanted a larger room, but that cheapskate Sir Topham Hatt was far too selfish to allow it."
"That doesn't sound like the principal," thought Rosie, who greatly respected Sir Topham Hatt. She then got an idea, "But maybe I can help."
"Oh?" Mr. Nodniws leered curiously.
"I'm going to try and convince Sir Topham Hatt to let you have a bigger classroom," proclaimed Rosie, "I promise to do it as soon as the weekend is over and done with."
Dart blinked, "You'd…really do that for us?"
"Of course!" smiled Rosie, "You've all been so good to me this week, so it's the least I could do."
"Well thank you," Mr. Nodniws said gratefully, "But seeing as you're probably going to miss your bus, I'll have Den and Dart here both show you a secret shortcut only me and my students know about."
"Right this way," offered Den.
The two boys showed Rosie a secret door alongside the wall in the back room. It led outside to the schoolyard.
"Have a good weekend," encouraged Dart, holding the door open.
"I will," Rosie nodded, with her spirit lifted, "And thank you!"
(outside…)
With that, the pink-haired girl went through the shortcut and made her way to the bus to go home.
(elsewhere…)
Later that night at the Vulcan residence, Rosie was inside her room doing some homework. She was trying to figure out what to say to Sir Topham Hatt when she visited the office.
*KNOCK, KNOCK!*
"Mm?" peeped Rosie.
"Rosie, what's keeping you? Mom has dinner ready," A male voice responded from outside.
The door opened, revealing a young man with short green hair standing in the doorway.
"Oh, Bart!" realized Rosie, "Ugh… Sorry, I must have lost track of time."
"Is that so? You really wanna ace that test on Monday, is that it?" teased Bart, as he was named.
"Hehe… Something like that," Rosie chuckled, getting up from her desk.
"Well, we can talk about it over dinner. What do you say?"
The pink-haired girl left the room with her older brother to go downstairs to the dining room for their evening meal.
(elsewhere…)
After the weekend finished, Rosie arrived at Sodor High School and immediately went to the principal's office. Standing outside, Rosie closed her eyes, took a deep breath, opened the door, and walked inside.
(inside…)
Inside the office was the secretary, Mrs. Stacy Jones.
"Good morning Mrs. Jones," greeted Rosie.
"Oh, good morning, Rosie!" Stacy replied, smiling cheerfully upon seeing Rosie, "What can I do for you today?"
"I'm here to see Sir Topham Hatt," admitted Rosie.
Stacy shook her head, "Sorry, dear, but he left to have a meeting with the city mayor, and he won't be back until the end of the day," she informed, but was willing to pass on a message, "It's the same with Mr. Percival, but if you'd like, I could leave him a message for you."
"Thanks! It's about the Smelters classroom," stated Rosie
"The Smelters classroom?" questioned Stacy Jones.
"Yup," responded Rosie, "According to Diesel and the likes, their classroom is too small and broken up. They want a bigger room that's in better shape."
Stacy's expression changed from cheerful to stern upon hearing that story from Rosie.
"Uh, I'm sorry. He has nothing to discuss about the Smelter's Class," she stated bluntly.
"Why not? They deserve a better classroom," argued Rosie.
"I'm sure they have a fine classroom. Now, you'd better get going or you'll be late for class," scolded Stacy.
Rosie grew very unhappy with Stacy and left the office, knowing that Mr. Nodniws was going to be very disappointed that he and his students would not be getting a bigger classroom.
(elsewhere…)
Inside the Smelters classroom, the door opened and Rosie walked inside, much to Mr. Nodniws's joy.
"Good morning, Rosie!" he exclaimed, "How did it go? I imagine Sir Topham Hatt said yes?"
"I'm sorry. Sir Topham Hatt is going to a meeting," declined Rosie, shaking her head as Mr. Nodniws appeared upset, "And Ms. Jones told me your classroom is fine, and that there's nothing wrong with it."
Sure enough, Mr. Nodniws was extremely unhappy to hear that, and so he proceeded to pound on the desk with his good hand in a rage.
"That damned woman!" he shouted in anger.
"But, sir, I do have an idea," cut in Rosie.
Mr. Nodniws looked up, "Huh?"
"If I can show someone like Thomas how messy this classroom is," offered Rosie, "and of how unhappy you all are with it, maybe that'll be able to convince them himself that you need a new classroom. Sir Topham Hatt is sure to listen to Thomas."
The problem, however, was that Thomas didn't trust many of the Smelter Teens, especially Diesel and his gang for good reason considering all of the mischief and such they had pull over them time and time again, and Rosie didn't know this. However, Mr. Nodniws did and decided to take full advantage of it while knowing that Rosie's kindness would be her downfall.
"That's a wonderful idea!" cheered Mr. Nodniws, "Could you bring him here by the end of the day?"
"Sure! I'll see you soon!" Rosie replied, before leaving the classroom.
As soon as she was gone, Mr. Nodniws once again smiled sinisterly to himself.
"Master, it's almost time," informed Mr. Nodniws mentally.
Within the darkness of his mind, the same teenage boy wearing purple robes from earlier reappeared, armed with the Millennium Rod.
"It's going just as we planned," said the teenage boy, mentally "Make sure you don't mess it up."
"I won't," promised Mr. Nodniws, "I will succeed in killing Thomas for the both of us."
(elsewhere…)
Rosie's chance to talk to Thomas finally came around lunch time inside their homeroom classroom. The Tidmouth Teens were busy talking to Duck about his new necklace.
"It's called the Millennium Ring," Duck was saying.
"Another Millennium Item," thought Thomas.
"Where did you get it?" asked Henry.
"I got it from my Father a long time ago," explained Duck, "He was exploring the sands of Egypt when he came across a merchant, who sold it to him."
"Egypt, you say?" quizzed Edward, "Boy, that's far away."
"It sure does look valuable," commented Gordon.
It was then Thomas spotted Rosie and smiled, knowing that he was about to make it up to her for turning her down those last few times.
"Hey, Rosie!" bellowed Thomas, getting Rosie's attention, "Can I talk to you for a moment?" He walked over and gave the good news, "I've got some good news; I'm free after school, so I can hang out with you if you'd like. Truth be told, I kinda felt bad for ignoring and turning you down those few times."
"That's great, Thomas!" blushed Rosie happily, overjoyed her crush would finally hang out with her and give her a chance to get to know him better, "But would you mind coming with me after school? I need to show you something big."
Thomas raised an eyebrow, "What is it?"
"The Smelters classroom!" blurted Rosie.
Suddenly, the whole classroom was silenced. The students all stared at Rosie in complete shock.
"The Smelters classroom?!" Thomas and the likes cried out.
"What on Earth were you doing there?!" pressed Duck.
"Diesel invited me there," answered Rosie, "While I was there, they claimed I was someone very special. Their teacher, Mr. Nodniws, even said so."
"Mr. Nodniws? That's a strange name he has," remarked Henry.
"More to the point, why have we never even heard of him?" frowned Percy.
"The Smelter students definitely need a new classroom. Their old one is too small, too dark, and very messy," concluded Rosie.
"Are you kidding me? Those Smelter guys have enough room!" huffed James, "They don't need another classroom!"
"How could you say that, James? You're being just as selfish and uncaring as Mrs. Jones and Sir Topham Hatt!" accused Rosie angrily, as she envisioned Diesel, Den, Dart, Mr. Nodniws, etc., having to work in a poor classroom, "You don't know what it's like for them to work in an unsafe room where they have to constantly fix broken equipment! They're always being put second and that isn't right at all!"
"But we do know most of them well," Gordon pointed out, "With the exception of Paxton and a few others, they've caused us nothing but trouble."
"Particularly Diesel and his gang," added Toby, "Rosie, please don't take this the wrong way," As he tried to help Rosie see sense, she grew angrier, "but you're being awfully naive regarding this Mr. Nodniws."
"That's no reason to treat the rest of them like garbage!" raged Rosie, "How would you like it if you were cast aside like that?"
"You shouldn't be hanging around with a dangerous crowd like them," warned Edward, "Because they will say anything to trick you."
"I don't care! The Smelter students deserve something better than what they already have!" argued Rosie, trying to calm down, "So, Thomas… will you come down to the classroom at the end of the day? I promise you Mr. Nodniws will tell you everything."
"Rosie, could you give Thomas and I a moment, please?" asked Emily, as she pulled Thomas aside to talk to him, "Thomas, I sense a trap."
"Yeah, me too," Thomas whispered back, "This could be something Dark Magician warned me about," He looked back at Rosie calmly, "Okay, Rosie, here's what we'll do; Emily and I will both go with you to the Smelters classroom after school."
"Great!" smiled Rosie, "I promise you that you'll hear the full story."
As Rosie walked away, the rest of the group spoke to the two teenagers.
"Are you sure that's wise?" urged Toby.
"To be honest, not really," sighed Thomas.
"Then if it's as bad as you believe it is, don't go!" insisted James, "Common sense."
"But now I have to go. I promised Rosie I would."
"As have I," finished Emily.
(elsewhere…)
Later on, the day was nearly over and Rosie was inside the Smelters classroom waiting for Thomas and Emily to both arrive. Mr. Nodniws was listening to what Rosie was telling him—all of it being good news.
"It's better than we first thought," rejoiced Rosie, "Thomas is not only coming to see you, but so is Emily."
"What about Sir Topham Hatt and Mr. Percival, the vice principal?" asked Mr. Nodniws.
"They're both away for the day," said Rosie, "They're having a meeting with the mayor."
Mr. Nodniws smiled to himself, "That's good, very good indeed."
"Eh? Why's that?" Rosie recoiled nervously.
"Because I'm going to alternate the plan a little bit. We're going to take over the entire school instead," revealed Mr. Nodniws, as Rosie gasped in horror, "And you will be the one to lead us, Rosie," He rubbed his hands together and placed the good one on the pink-haired girl's shoulder, "When the school is under our control, Sir Topham Hatt will have to listen to us. Once our demands are met, we'll immediately hand the school back to him. No harm, no foul."
"Oh," Rosie groaned in relief, "You had me scared there for a moment."
Mr. Nodniws chuckled, aware that Rosie had no idea. At that moment, the nearby door opened as Thomas and Emily walked in.
"Rosie, where are-" Thomas started to say, but froze in horror.
Standing beside Rosie was…him. The monster that tried to take over Sodor High School a long time ago. He (Mr. Nodniws) was back, and no doubt going to try again, as well try to get revenge on him (Thomas).
"Emily, stay close to me," ordered Thomas, talking to Emily.
Emily nodded slowly and did as she waa told.
"Welcome Thomas Billinton and Emily Stirling, we've been waiting for you two, for so very long!" cried Mr. Nodniws dramatically, as he spread his arms out in welcome. Then, he started to speak normally once again, "Den and Dart will take you around the classroom to show you everything. Rosie and I are both busy."
Den held his left arm out, "Come with us," he requested, "We're going to the back room."
"Forget it! We're taking Rosie and leaving," refused Thomas.
"We know something's wrong here," put in Emily.
The both of them turned to leave, but Dart quickly got in their way.
"You're not going anywhere. You have to stay here with us. We're going to take good care of you," threatened Dart.
Diesel smirked, "The way you say it, Dart, makes it sound scary."
"Yeah, cool isn't it?" winked Dart playfully.
"What about Rosie?" demanded Thomas.
"She'll be coming with me, boy," Mr. Nodniws stated, looking at Rosie, "Am I right, Rosie?"
"Yup!" nodded Rosie brightly.
Thomas was aghast over how naive Rosie was behaving; while he knew Rosie was kind and helpful, she seriously didn't know who that person was? He had to warn her.
"Rosie, do you even know who you're talking to?!" panicked Thomas, "That's Diesel-!"
Suddenly, before he could finish, Thomas felt a fist from Den connect to the back of the head, hard, causing him (Thomas) to collapse and black out into unconsciousness.
"Thomas!" shrieked Emily.
"Sorry, Emily," apologized Den, "But I'm just following orders."
"Take them to the back room," commanded Mr. Nodniws, "Now!"
Den and Dart obeyed, taking an unconscious Thomas and a protesting Emily to the backroom. Rosie looked to the teacher.
"Um, was Den hurting Thomas necessary?" she questioned, uncertainly.
"It may have been a bit much," figured Mr. Nodniws, agreeing in a sense, "But I assure you he'll be just fine," As he asked his next question, Rosie lost her uncertainty and became determined, "Now are you ready to be remembered as one of Sodor's greatest heroes?"
"I am," Rosie nodded in response.
(elsewhere…)
A few minutes later, Rosie led the charge of Mr. Nodniws and the students of the Smelters classroom towards the principal's office. Other students, who were still in their classrooms and ready for the bell to ring to end the day, didn't notice the crowd pass by. Stanley, however, was at his locker when he saw a parade of Smelter Teens marching through the hallway and disappearing around the corner.
"I wonder what's going on. And where is Rosie leading them to?" he asked himself.
Curiously, Stanley followed them at a distance, while keeping out of their sight. At last, the parade of Smelter students—as well as both Mr. Nodniws and Rosie—reached the door to the office.
"Well, here we are," Rosie stated.
"Excellent," grinned Mr. Nodniws.
(inside…)
Within the office, all was peaceful and quiet…until the office door was violently kicked open by Mr. Nodniws. Stacy noticed that and, believing the action to be done by a random student, stood up from her desk crossly.
"What is the meaning of this?!" she demanded, but seeing Mr. Nodniws's threatening glare caused her to shut up, "Um… I-I mean good afternoon."
With that said, Mr. Nodniws and Rosie both approached the main office of Sir Topham Hatt. Inside, Rosie took a good look around in wonderment. Since she never got into trouble since moving to Knapford City, she never had a reason to go see the principal.
"Look around well, my dear. You've deserved it," encouraged Mr. Nodniws, before he grabbed the microphone and began speaking through it, "Good afternoon, students of Sodor High. This is Mr. Nodniws of the Smelters classroom speaking. As of now, the school is under our control…"
Rosie smiled to herself, as she was expecting Mr. Nodniws to say "Until our demands are met", but what he said next was completely different.
"…and we won't be giving it back anytime soon! You all are now my prisoners. Those who stand in our way shall be destroyed!" sneered Mr. Nodniws, causing Rosie to gasp in surprise when she heard that. Nevertheless, he had more he wanted to say, "If you are all wondering how this came to pass, then you have Rosie Vulcan to thank for giving us this wonderful opportunity! And if you come across Sir Topham Hatt, tell that fat tub of lard that this is what happens to those who ignore me!"
Once Mr. Nodniws put the microphone down, Rosie walked forth nervously.
"Um, you weren't being serious when you said all of that stuff, right?" peeped Rosie, hoping it was all a joke while Mr. Nodniws frowned a little bit, "I mean, it had to be a joke."
Unfortunately, Mr. Nodniws smirked and howled with laughter.
"I was being dead serious, Rosie. This school is mine now, and I won't be surrendering it anytime soon!" cackled Mr. Nodniws.
"But you have to!" protested Rosie, "What about the Smelter students? What are they going to get out of this?"
"Why should they settle on just getting a bigger classroom…" dismissed Mr. Nodniws snidely, "…when they can have the whole school as their new classroom or playground?"
(outside…)
Mr. Nodniws exited the office, with the Smelter Teens waiting to hear what their teacher had to say to them.
"The school is ours now, boys," he announced, "So go, and have some fun."
"Thanks very much, Diesel 10!" Diesel, 'Arry, and Bert began.
"You're the best!" Dodge, Splatter, and Dennis concluded.
"Diesel 10?" Rosie blinked, as Mr. Nodniws, real name Diesel 10, eyed her fiendishly, "But I thought your name was Mr. Nodniws!"
"Not quite!" corrected Diesel 10, "You see, Rosie, Nodniws is actually Swindon spelled backwards! And I happen to be none other than Diesel 10 Swindon, the dangerous super criminal!"
To prove his point, the man tore his cast off his left arm and revealed that it was a normal arm… but the hand was entirely replaced by a claw hand like one from a warship diesel engine.
"A criminal?!" shuddered Rosie, taking a step back into the wall, "No… no I don't believe it!"
"Believe it, you brat!" thundered Diesel 10, "Since you don't know much about me, I'll tell you a bit about my history!" A thought bubble formed above him as he explained everything about himself, "I used to be a teacher at this very school three years ago—but then, when I thought I should be principal of this school instead of Bertram, I tried to take over the school by force. Your friend, Thomas, rallied all of his friends to put an end to my plans, however. They succeeded and sent me to jail as a result."
"Jail you so likely deserved!" The voice of Rosie retorted.
The bubble popped.
"However, last year, someone broke me out," jeered Diesel 10, "I was so thankful for that that I agreed to help him. He wants to kill Thomas, as do I, and I want to become principal of this school. It's win/win for us both!" As he continued to rant and rave, Rosie continued to look absolutely horrified, "And now, thanks to your naivety, the school is finally mine! Now I'll finally be able to make this school do whatever I want it to—with those idiotic students from the Smelters classroom helping me out."
"You…" spluttered Rosie, "You'll never get away with this!"
"Oh, but can't you see?" gloated Diesel 10, "I have already won!"
Rosie couldn't believe it. All this time, Diesel 10 had been manipulating her good heart for his own selfish goals. She thought she was doing a good thing for someone. Instead of that, however, she just did something bad. Really bad!
"But since you've just helped me, I'll show you mercy and let you leave unharmed," offered Diesel 10. His eyes then narrowed, "But if you're not gone within five minutes, then you'll become a prisoner just like your pathetic friends!"
Not wasting any time, Rosie quickly raced away out of the office, as well as the school.
"Diesel 10, why did you let her go?" complained Diesel, "Won't she go to the police?"
"I'm not worried," Diesel 10 assured, holding up a remote control, "One press of a button and the school will be locked down."
He pushed a button on the remote.

Outside the building, Rosie watched in horror as the whole school was put under a lockdown with no way for anyone to get out—and she knew it was all her fault.
(inside…)
Back inside the back room of the Smelters classroom, Thomas and Emily were both tied up to a chair.
"It was Diesel 10," Thomas grumbled angrily, "I'm sure of it!"
"We have to get out of here!" cried Emily.
Suddenly, the door opened and walked in Diesel 10, along with a remorseful-looking Den and Dart.
"Well, well, well," snickered Diesel 10, "Isn't this a grand day for me?" He folded his arms, "Not only do I finally get this school under my control, but I have my archenemy locked up, too."
"Damn you!" shouted Thomas, struggling, "Let us go!"
"In due time," countered Diesel 10, as an angered Thomas listened, "You know, I've been wanting payback on you for a long time, Thomas," He was shown rubbing his hand and claw together with glee, "When that time comes, I'll make sure you suffer slowly and painfully."
"You won't get away with this!" vowed Emily.
"Nice mouth, girly," taunted Diesel 10 in a sassy tone, leaning in and bringing his claw hand over to touch the left side of Emily's face, "Too bad your boyfriend here won't live long enough to see you make use of it."
Poor Emily flinched from the touch, which served to anger Thomas further.
"Don't you dare touch Emily! Leave her out of this!" demanded Thomas, as Den and Dart both listened and knew they went too far, "It's obvious that it's me you want!"
"As much as I'd like to kill you now… it'll have to wait," grunted Diesel 10, who then turned to leave, "Den and Dart, you two will guard this door, and make sure no one, except for me, goes in and out."
As soon as Diesel 10 was gone, Emily looked towards the remorseful Den and Dart.
"Den, Dart, why are you two doing this for a criminal?" pressed Emily, "What did we ever do to you?"
"We're really sorry, Emily, but we're just following orders," whispered Dart sadly.
They were soon gone from the room, leaving Thomas and Emily all alone.

Meanwhile, inside the Billinton household, Annie and Clarabel had just returned home from school. Their Dad was still out, and their Mom was in the kitchen preparing cookies for when Thomas came home from school. As the twin sisters watched TV and did some of their homework, there was a knock on the door.
"Oh dear… Annie, could you get the door, please?" The voice of Mrs. Billinton called from the kitchen, "I'm getting the cookies out of the oven!"
"Yes, Mom!" obeyed Annie, as she got up from the couch.
She (Annie) and Clarabel approached the front door and opened it, wondering who the visitor was. As soon as they both saw who it was, they grew frightened. In the kitchen, Mrs. Billinton just got the hot tray of baked cookies out of the oven when she heard her daughters scream.
"Annie?! Clarabel?!" wailed Mrs. Billinton, dropping the tray.
The tray of cookies landed on the floor, spilling its delicious contents. The Mother of Thomas, Annie, and Clarabel then raced to the living room to see what the problem was and found the front door still open and a few men outside taking both young girls away.
"No! Stop!" freaked out Mrs. Billinton.
(outside…)
As soon as Annie and Clarabel were gagged and loaded into the car, the two men laughed and climbed inside before driving out of the driveway in a hurry and down the road as Mrs. Billinton ran out trying to catch the thieves but failed.
"Annie! Clarabel!" screeched Mrs. Billinton, starting to cry and beg, "My daughters! Oh, my daughters! Police! Somebody, help me! Help! Help! Help!"
Poor Mrs. Billinton fell to her knees and sobbed in dispair. Oh no! What will be done now? Find out the answer next time…
Other than some spit and polish, plus two entirely new scenes added in, this version is practically identical to the original version. The next part will hopefully come soon, so sit tight, everyone!
