Chapter 21

While swimming around Mako, Sora swims into Charlotte and he introduces her to Donald and Goofy. They find out that she has a fear of dolphins. Charlotte tells the gang that the girls are ordering her around. She said the same to Lewis who took her to the local Marine Park to meet the star dolphin to confront her fears but the only person who could introduce them was Cleo. Charlotte tells Sora all about what happened.

Goofy: What a perfect day!

Donald: What a lovely day for swimming amongst the fishys!

Sora: Yeah the reefs are looking particularly vibrant today but yet still no Heartless around!

Goofy: Yeah your right!

Donald: Sora you feel there is something brewing?

Sora: Yeah, i do and that's why we need to stay just for a little longer and until i remain to normal at least.

Donald: How are you going to do that?

Goofy: He might have to wait till the next full moon

Sora: Goofy's right and after doing research with Lewis and the girls we just haven't come across any other answers. After all i am the first merman they have come across.

Sora, Donald and Goofy continue to swim around the reefs of Mako. Sora of course not watching where he was going bumps into something or someone.

Sora: Ouch!

Girls Voice: Hey watch where your going!

Sora: Charlotte?

Charlotte: Gotta watch were your swimming!

Sora: I'm sorry i...was distracted!

Charlotte: Can see that! Who are you friends? They look...

Sora, Donald and Goofy could feel that Charlotte was suspecious at the way they look.

Donald: I'm Donald!

Goofy: Hya i'm Goofy, nice to meet ya!

Charlotte: You've made friends with sea creatures?

Sora: Um yeah, guess you can say that!

Sora looks over his left shoulder towards Donald and Goofy and whispers to them to play along

Charlotte: Didn't know sea creatures could talk!

Donald: Oh yes! We do!

Goofy: You speakin our language right now!

Charlotte: Right...

Sora: You see when you become a merman or a mermaid you'll start to understand the languages of sea creatures

Charlotte: Really? We i've tried speaking to a Dolphin and couldn't understand a word he was staying!

Sora: Dolphin?

Goofy: Sora's just learning!

Donald: Our Sora hasn't mastered Dolphin yet!

Sora: Ah yeah what they said, why are you asking about Dolphins may i ask?

Charlotte: Oh nothing! Nothing at all!

Donald: An't Dolphins nice?

Goofy: Yeah they are one of the nicest most friendly mammals in the universe!

Sora: Judging by your current mood, is there anything you wish to talk about?

Charlotte: My mood! What are you doing about? I just, just have a slight fear of them ok! Plus, I am feeling like i'm being ordered around by Emma, Rikki and Cleo!

Sora: How about we swim to the moon pool and you can tell me or us all about what's been happening. You lead the way!

Charlotte swims off toward the moon pool

Goofy: What's going on with her?

Sora: Don't know but i guess we are about to find out!

Sora, Donald and Goofy followed Charlotte into the moon pool. Sora picks himself up to sit on the edge of the moon pool with his tail still in the water. While Donald and Goofy remained floating in the water.

Donald: So you used your powers on the Dolphin at the Marine Park when it flicked water at you?

Charlotte: I jumped into the pool because the water touched me and then Ronny was coming straight for me! Lewis and Cleo ordered me to stop.

Goofy: Did anyone else see ya?

Charlotte: I don't think so, i managed to get out and dry myself with my heat powers. Then Cleo gives me a lecture about being careful near water and that someone could have me and wait these more there are rules in the "Mermaid Club"

Sora: Mermaid Club? First time i've heard of the Mermaid Club, She's just trying to protect you i guess.

Charlotte: No i'm being bossed around!

Sora felt that it was a good point to stop there to avoid Charlotte getting even more worked up. So he decided to change the subject but Charlotte cut in before he could say a word.

Charlotte: Sora, how long did it take the girls to like you? Do they boss you around like they do with me?

Sora: We kinda just bumped into each other on the reefs like you and i just did. I don't believe that i am being bossed around by them.

Charlotte: So your part of their Mermaid Club

Sora: I'm not put of any club plus i'm as you can see a merman!

Goofy: We also have become their protectors

Sora: Shhhhhh GOOFY!

Charlotte: What do you mean protectors?

Donald: We're heros!

Sora: Donald Shhhhh!

Charlotte: Heros?

Sora: Ah yeah, my keybl...a trident helps protect us from anything that lurks around Mako and Donald and Goofy help

Charlotte: Can it protect me from dolphins?

Donald: No it any kills heartless!

Charlotte: Heartless?

Sora: Ah yeah, they are dark looking creatures that take peoples hearts

Charlotte: So they are not a sea creature?

Goofy: Oh no but they can disguise themselves as sea creatures!

Charlotte: Oh look at the time i better go!

Sora: We will come with you

Charlotte left in a hurry as she exited the moon pool. They looked at each and decided to follow her. As they came out of the moon pool tunnel they find Charlotte had been stopped by a group of Jellyfish Heartless. She is using her powers of Heat, Cold and Water Movement but Sora could see she was struggling and decided to help her.

Sora (summoning his keyblade): Wondered when you guys would show up!

Charlotte: Thats a strange looking trident

Goofy: Swim away Charlotte, we will deal with these guys

Donald: Yeah swim to safety

Charlotte: You think i cannot handle them? I've got more power then the girls do!

Sora: JUST GO!

Sora noticed Charlotte not all too pleased about being sent away. However she did do as she was told and swam away quickly. While the gang battled the jellyfish heartless, Charlotte had begun her way back to the mainland. She was stopped in her tracks by the reappearance of Demyx.

Demyx: Why hello Charlotte we meet again!

Charlotte: You again? How do you know my name and how are you breathing underwater?

Demyx: Ohhh with a great power and i remember hearing your friends yell out your name the last time we met.

Charlotte: Great power?

Demyx: You were dimissed from helping that boy and his sea creature friends defeat those creatures. How does that make you feel?

Charlotte: Rotten i guess

Demyx: There's a lot you don't know about Sora, he's full of secrets and lies. He's the one putting those mermaids under a spell to boss you around and is faking his friendship with your boyfriend. He wants to steal the mermaids powers, so he could asborb them into his keyblade to make himself more powerful. You could be next!

Charlotte: No no that's impossible and hang on didn't he say it was a trident?

Demyx: See there you go he was lying to ya!

Charlotte: A keyblade you say? That would explain the odd shape!

Demyx: This kid needs to be stopped

Charlotte: Well how can i? I do not wish to hurt him!

Demyx: I can grant you great powers, even better then the ones you have now!

Charlotte goes into a daze as she begins to listen to Demyx's lies and orders.

Charlotte: Power?

Demyx: You do not need those mermaids or Sora to be your friends, they will only continue to disappoint you.

Charlotte: Yeeessss

Demyx: See what do you say? Are you in or are you out?
