Title: Big Trouble at Sodor High, Part 3
Running as fast as she could from the high school on lockdown, Rosie wanted to get as far away from Diesel 10 and the Smelter Teens as she possibly could. All she could think about is how badly she screwed up.
"How could I have been so stupid?!" Rosie thought to herself, tears streaming down her face, "I thought I was doing something good for someone. Just to find out I… I…"
The poor pink-haired girl didn't get any further, and just collapsed onto her knees to cry out of shame, disgrace, and remorse.
"Rosie!" The voice of Stanley called out, "I'm so glad you're safe and sound!"
"Stanley?" uttered Rosie, looking up, turning around, and finding Stanley running up to her, "Stanley, is that you?"
"Yup, it's me," smiled Stanley, "I got out safely like you."
Rosie teared up, "Oh, Stanley, I've done something so horrible and stupid! This is all my fault!"
"Yeah, I've heard," acknowledged Stanley gravely, trying to comfort Rosie, "However, I don't blame you for what happened at all."
"You don't?" Rosie blinked through her tears.
"No, I don't," insisted Stanley kindly, "You were just trying to do what you thought was right. Diesel 10 was the one who lied to you."
"But how did you get out?" wondered Rosie.
"I saw you leading Diesel 10 and most of the Smelter students down the hallway. I got suspicious over what was going on, so I secretly followed," explained Stanley, as he envisioned in his mind what had been going on before fleeing for safety, "I couldn't get into the office when I saw Diesel and the others outside, but I did listen to the message that criminal gave. After that, I got out of the school as fast as I could."
"What should we do? You and I are no match for Diesel 10, right now. And the school is on lockdown…" fretted Rosie.
"Let's head into town and get help," suggested Stanley, "Maybe Flynn and the rest of the Fire Department can assist us in stopping Diesel 10."
"I hope so," whispered Rosie, "I really hope so…"
With that said, she and Stanley both started to race across the street without watching if any cars were coming… Just then, there was a loud screeching sound of tires burning rubber on the ground.
"Hey!" A voice (male) berated, but not unkindly, "Watch where you two are going!"
The two Sodor High School teenagers looked and gasped in amazement.
"Whoa!" admired Rosie.
There, sitting on the road, were three VERY cool-looking motorcycles. Riding them were three civilians not from around the Island of Sodor:
-The first was a 16-year old boy with short dark brown hair, brown eyes, and was wearing black jeans, a orange t-shirt, a sleeveless brown cargo vest, and a beak-shaped black helmet with plumes sticking from the sides, which includes an orange eyeshield and decorated with a red gem.
-The second was a 16-year old girl with shoulder-length brown hair, black eyes, and was wearing a form-fitting, red motorcyclist suit with a black undershirt covering up possible breast cleavage, along with an enclosed helmet, and boots.
"Look both ways before crossing the street," The third motorcycle driver pointed out, who was actually 18-years old. He wore a white and blue jacket with a yellow trim and front pockets, a blue t-shirt with a large white stripe placed horizontally, blue jeans, a pair of blue-outlined white sneakers, and a gray-colored helmet, "Safety comes first, you know. We don't wanna be responsible for your deaths."
"Who are you three?" Stanley and Rosie asked at the same time.
The brown-haired boy removed his helmet, smiled, and spoke up first.
"The name's James, James Hogan," he said, "These two are my friends… Zack Ruaka and Carlie Izayoi."
Carlie (the girl) simply made the faceplate of her helmet rise up as she also smiled.
"It's nice to meet you both," The brown-haired girl greeted cheerfully.
Zack (the older boy) simply removed his helmet and kept a calm look on his face.
"What's the rush, anyway?" The black-haired boy frowned slightly, "You both nearly got hit by us."
"We're really sorry," Rosie apologized hastily, "but we need to get to town and find help."
"What's the matter?" asked James R., now sounding concerned.
"A criminal has taken over our school!" explained Stanley direly, "All our friends are trapped inside with no escape!"
"That's awful!" gasped Carlie, "We'll help you save them and stop that criminal."
"Thanks," sighed Rosie gratefully, "But we'll need more help," As she asked her question, Carlie, James R., and Zack looked at each other and nodded, "Could you guys give me and Stanley a ride to town to the Fire Department?"
"Say no more," Zack nodded, putting his helmet back on, "We'll help you out in any way we can."
The two teenagers climbed aboard Zack (Stanley) and Carlie's (Rosie) motorcycles respectively and they rode off.
(elsewhere…)
A while later, the three motorcycle driving teens arrived in the town of Knapford.
"I've never seen motorcycles like these before," Stanley commented, riding with Zack, "What kind of models are they?"
"They're called Duel Runners," answered Zack plainly.
"Duel Runners?" Rosie blinked, having heard the answer come from Carlie, too, "What's a Duel Runner?"
"Special motorcycles that you can play Duel Monsters on," grinned James R., "My Duel Runner is painted black and orange, and is named 'Blackbird'."
"And mine is painted red, and is named 'Bloody Kiss'," proclaimed Carlie.
"Wait, so you three are duelists?" blinked Stanley.
"James and Carlie are," Zack corrected, "but I'm not."
"There are two other duelists in our group," James R. added, "Matt Fudo and Michael Atlas. Out of us, they're easily the best of the best. The former is actually not only the champion of all of North America, but is one of the greatest duelists of all."
"Too bad they're off exploring the island and likely dueling each other again," giggled Carlie, "I swear…" As she jokingly recalled the rivalry of Matt and Michael, Stanley and Rosie looked at each other, "…they take their rivalry, more often than not, to levels we've never seen before."
Pretty soon, they found Flynn and Belle's firefighting team. They had just put out a fire at an apartment building and were getting ready to leave when…
"BELLE! FLYNN!" The voice of Rosie hollered from a distance.
The two adults looked and saw the kids pull up on the Duel Runners.
"Rosie? Stanley? What's the matter?" pondered Belle, as Rosie and Stanley ran up, "Aren't you two supposed to be in school?"
"Come quick! Help!" Rosie said very quickly, "My…school…danger!"
"Easy, slowly," soothed Flynn, trying to get Rosie to speak more slowly, "Now, tell us what's happening."
"A criminal named Diesel 10 has taken over Sodor High School and is holding everybody inside prisoner!" stated Stanley urgently, "We need your help!"
"Say no more!" vowed Belle, looking serious, "We're ready to come to the rescue."
"And again, we'll help out in any way we can," agreed Zack.
"Well then, let's kick this rescue into overdrive!" cried James R., who revved Blackbird up.
(elsewhere…)
Twenty minutes later, the three Duel Runners and three fire trucks arrived outside in Sodor High School's front yard.
"So, how do we get inside?" said Carlie thoughtfully, looking at Rosie, "You said the place was on lockdown, right?"
"There's a secret passage to the Smelters Class," remembered Rosie, "Maybe that's still open."
"What's going on?" The voice of Duck echoed.
The group all turned around and saw a curious-looking Duck standing behind them.
"Duck?!" Rosie exclaimed, "You got out of there, too? But how?"
"I…honestly don't remember," Duck admitted, rubbing the back of his head, "I remember listening to Mr. Nodniws's announcement on the PA, then suddenly I blacked out. Later on, I woke up to find myself outside."
"Strange," commented Stanley, "Very strange indeed."
Zack grew serious, "We can't waste any time," he pressed, looking in Rosie's direction, "Now, where is the secret entrance you mentioned?"
"Follow me," requested Rosie, running ahead. She led them all to a door near a part of the building, "This is it."
James R. gripped onto the door handle and pulled on the door—but it wouldn't open.
"It won't open," he grunted, tugging more and more, "Whoa!"
James R. flew back and landed on the ground, but was otherwise unhurt.
"Damn," grunted Zack, dismayed.
"Now how are we going to get inside the school?" complained Carlie, helping James R. back up before she and him looked upward at the building, "Does anyone have an idea or something?"
"I have an idea," offered Zack, "It won't be pretty, but it might work."
"Let's hear it," insisted Duck.
Zack looked at Flynn, "Do you have some strong rope?"
"In one of our fire trucks," nodded Flynn, "What do you need it for?"
"Get it for me, and I'll show you," ordered Zack.
Flynn went to the fire truck and brought back some strong rope. Zack took the rope and tied one end to the door handle, and the other end to his Duel Runner.
"Zack…" whispered James R., "You aren't thinking of…"
"Using my Duel Runner to pull the door open?" deadpanned Zack, "What was your first clue?"
An annoyed James R. scowled in response. With that said, Zack then got onto his Duel Runner and started it up. Bringing it to full throttle, he was able to pull open the door in no time.
"Good thing I'm not that door," Belle commented in a deadpan tone of her own, "Because that would hurt in the morning."
"Come on!" shouted Rosie, running into the Smelters classroom.
(inside…)
Stanley, James R., Carlie, and Zack all followed Rosie inside the building. Now that they were inside, they searched around.
"Anything?" asked Rosie.
"No," declined Carlie, who shook her head.
Eventually…
"How did you guys get in here?" The voice of Den began.
"The school is on lockdown," The voice of Dart finished.
There stood Den and Dart. Rosie had to keep much restraint to keep herself from going over and doing something very drastic to those two Smelter Teens.
"You let Thomas and Emily go, right now!" raged Rosie.
"Sorry, we can't do that," Dart replied, shaking his head.
Rosie growled, "Why not?!"
"You two seem reluctant," Carlie commented softly, "Reluctant to take orders from that horrible Diesel 10."
Den and Dart both took one look at Carlie and they blushed.
"We didn't really want it to go this far," muttered Den, "Um, I mean…"
"What he means is," corrected Dart, "that we only wanted a bigger, safer classroom."
"Then tell me… why are you still obeying Diesel 10's orders?" questioned Zack, "He's lied to you about getting a new classroom just so he could take over the school."
The two brothers didn't answer. They only looked at each other for a moment.
"I think we should…" figured Den.
"Go?" put in Dart.
Den nodded, "Yes."
"Does this mean you two will-?" started Carlie.
"Yes, we'll move away," confirmed Dart, "Besides, I never liked Diesel 10 all that much anyway."
"Me neither," concluded Den, "Why shouldn't we stay?"
And they moved away from the door, causing Rosie to sigh in relief.
"Hooray! I knew you two weren't bad guys," she rejoiced, "Now to save Thomas and Emily."
"Hey where'd Duck go?" Stanley spoke up.
"He must be waiting outside with Flynn and Belle," suggested James R..
Either way, Rosie opened the door. There, Thomas and Emily were, both tied to two separate chairs.
"Thomas! Emily!" called Rosie.
The two captured Sudrian teenagers turned and gasped at who they saw.
"Rosie?" started Emily.
"Guys, I'm so glad you're both alright!" Rosie said with relief. Without wasting another second, she began to untie her friends, "Hang on, I'll free you both."
"How did you get in?" questioned Thomas.
"That would be my doing," said Zack coolly, gesturing to himself.
Thomas and Emily were both confused.
"Who are you three?" wondered Emily, "I've never seen you before."
"We're Zack, Carlie, and James," said Carlie, introducing herself and her two friends, "We're visiting from America."
"Have you ever heard of the creator of Duel Monsters? You know, Discord J. Crawford?" added James R., "We were adopted by him."
Thomas and Emily were both surprised.
"Discord told us about you three!" recalled Thomas, but then noticed that two people of that group seemed to be missing, "But…he said there were five of you."
"That's because our two other friends, Matt and Mike, are both out exploring the Island," revealed Zack, "We three happened upon Rosie and Stanley while riding into town for a bite to eat."
"I'm so sorry I caused this to happen," apologized Rosie sadly, "I thought I was helping the Smelter students out by getting them a bigger classroom—but I should have known I was being tricked."
"It's okay," Thomas replied calmly, placing both hands on Rosie's shoulders and causing her to look up at him, "We understand why you did it; you were just following your heart," He then looked at everyone else as they listened, "Now, come on, let's go free everyone."
(outside…)
Upon arriving in the hallway, the small group found Den, Dart, Sidney, and Paxton going to some of the nearby classrooms.
"What are you up to?" accused Stanley.
"We're freeing the other students here," answered Paxton, as Sidney stood beside him (Paxton), "Believe me when I say this; we had no intention of letting something like this happen."
"This is our way of saying we're sorry for helping that monster out," added Sidney.
"Thank you," praised Emily, "I knew you weren't bad guys."
"Speaking of bad guys…" Thomas spoke up, "It's time to teach Diesel 10 a lesson."
Once everyone nodded in agreement, he, Emily, Rosie, Zack, Carlie, and James R. all took off down the hallway. Just as quickly, Henry and Edward both showed up to join them.
"We're with you in this!" announced Edward.
"Let's teach Diesel 10 a lesson!" suggested Henry.
As they went down further down the hallway, James and Gordon both joined up, too.
"Let's take back our school!" vowed Gordon.
Even further down, the gang found Toby and Percy, who both instantly joined as well.
"That fiend's not going to get away with this!" concluded Toby.
Eventually, the large number of teenagers had arrived outside the office. Diesel and his gang were seen chatting about stuff when they turned and found themselves facing the opposition.
"What the-?" gawked Diesel, who was surprised to see Thomas and the others, "How did you guys get loose, and…" Upon spotting Carlie, he grinned flirtingly, "…who's the babe?"
"Don't even try it, buster," warned Carlie, "I'm not like the other girls you know."
"And if you must know, she's one of our new friends," said Thomas firmly, "We're taking back the school!"
"So get out of the way!" commanded Percy, "You lot are outnumbered."
Seeing as they were outnumbered, Diesel and his gang did the smart thing and backed down. This allowed for a few members of the group to enter the office unopposed.
(inside…)
Inside the office, Stacy was shown cowering under her desk when she spotted Rosie and Thomas.
"Oh, thank goodness, it's just you two," realized Stacy, before pointing to the door leading to Sir Topham Hatt's office, "Diesel 10… he's in Sir Topham Hatt's office."
"Good, he's trapped," nodded Thomas, "Let's finish this, Diesel 10."
He went over to the door to Sir Topham Hatt's office and opened it. Inside the main office, Diesel 10 was seated in Sir Topham Hatt's desk with his back to the gang. He kept a calm, yet evil look on his face.
"So, you've come back, Rosie," Diesel 10 muttered to himself, sinisterly, before turning around to look at all of his enemies with a maniacal look on his face, "Foolish girl, the school is mine now!"
"You're wrong! It's our school! And we're taking it back!" argued Thomas.
"You tricked me, Diesel 10!" declared Rosie, stepping forward, "You made me think I was helping the Smelters Class, but I now know your scheme, and we're going to stop you here and now!"
Angered, Diesel 10 gestured his claw hand out and snapped it in an attempt to frighten everyone, seeing as he was capable of using his claw to snap the necks of people. Suddenly, there was a loud crowd of voices coming from the hallway.
"What the-?!" freaked out Diesel 10.
Stanley smiled, "Oh, did we forget to mention four of your students have gone and freed all of the other students and teachers of this school?"
"I'd say you're outnumbered now, Diesel 10," teased James.
"Dammit!" screeched Diesel 10, knowing he had two trump cards left.
"Give it up, Diesel 10!" Gordon urged, cracking his knuckles, "You don't scare any of us. So you might as well pack it up, and get your butt out of our school!"
"Me? Leave!?" exclaimed Diesel 10, slamming both hands onto the desk in a fit of rage. As he proclaimed his defiance, the group all glared in response, "Never! This school is mine, and I'll never give it up to the likes of you fools!"
"What makes you think you can take all of us on?" quizzed Zack, calmly adjusting the glasses on his face, "There's more of us than there is of you."
Diesel 10's angry face soon turned to one of glee as he erupted into maniacal laughter, catching everyone off-guard.
"You all think you have me beat, don't you?" sneered Diesel 10, "Well, you don't! I still hold my ultimate trump cards!" Such a statement surprised the group, "Take a good look outside, why don't you?"
James R. dashed to a nearby window, looked around outside, and gasped.
(outside…)
Outside, there were dozens of hoodlums wielding baseball bats and knives. Many of them had also surrounded Belle, Flynn, their firefighting team, and Duck.
(inside…)
Back inside…
"Well?" urged Carlie.
"You guys want the good news or bad news first?" gulped James R., "Scratch the good news; there's a whole army out there! And Belle, Flynn, Duck, and the firefighters are surrounded!"
"I called my gang," gloated Diesel 10, "Somehow, I knew something like this would happen, so I took some extra measures to ensure I won."
"You monster!" shrieked Emily, "They're innocent people!"
"And if you think I'm bad now, just wait till you hear this!" rebutted Diesel 10, "This is my ultimate trump card!" He (Diesel 10) focused his attention towards Thomas, the one person he (Diesel 10) hated more than anyone, "While I was busy manipulating Rosie, I sent as few of my boys to your home and kidnapped a duo of young girls whom I think you know quite well."
Thomas gasped, hoping that Diesel 10 didn't just… Unfortunately, the way Diesel 10 was smiling confirmed that the worst had, indeed, happened. Percy and Emily both knew that Thomas was about to explode.
"YOU KIDNAPPED MY SISTERS?!" roared Thomas.
"Correct!" laughed Diesel 10, "Now that I have them, you'll think twice before trying to stop me!"
"Let them go!" threatened Percy.
"Oh, I'll let them go…" accepted Diesel 10, before bringing his Duel Disk up from under the desk and onto his left arm, "But I only will 'if' the winner of the San Francisco Duel Monsters tournament can actually defeat me in a duel."
"Fine!" confirmed Thomas, "I accept your challenge."
"Then follow me to a much more suitable arena," Diesel 10 walked away from the desk, "We're going to duel in the gym!"
(outside…)
As Diesel 10 and some of his cronies took the group down the hallway towards the gym, a voice spoke in his head.
"Excellent work so far, Diesel 10," The voice of the same teenage boy praised, "Now, all you need to do is destroy Thomas Billinton."
"That won't be a problem, master," insisted Diesel 10 mentally. "With my Deck, along with the cards you and your followers have supplied me, it will be an easy job."
"Just remember," The voice of the teenage boy warned, "that if at one point you start slacking off, I will be taking over."
"I can assure you that I never slack off!" bragged Diesel 10 mentally.
(elsewhere…)
Inside the gym, there were several more hoodlums waiting, and, much to Thomas's horror, there was also both Annie and Clarabel being held captive.
"Annie! Clarabel!" gasped Thomas.
"BIG BROTHER!" Annie and Clarabel wailed in fright.
Suddenly, the other teenagers (including Carlie, Zack, and James R., but minus Thomas) got themselves being held captive by the hoodlums, too.
"Stop it, Diesel 10! Let my friends go!" pleaded Thomas, as Diesel 10 took sadistic enjoyment out of this, "It's obvious that it's me you really want!"
"I will only do so 'if' you win this duel," Diesel 10 retorted, holding up a spare Duel Disk for about two seconds before tossing it over to Thomas, "Should you lose? All of you will quickly die—but your death will be the most slow and painful, Thomas!"
Thomas caught the Duel Disk and looked at it for what seemed like forever.
"I won't lose to the likes of you!" thought Thomas, as the Duel Spirits of Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl appeared on his left and right respectively, "My monsters and I will stop you!"
Nearby…
"Wait, so Thomas can seriously see Duel Spirits?" pondered James R..
"That means he's just like us," Carlie whispered back.
"Thomas…" murmured Zack.
Back with Diesel 10 and Thomas…
"You seriously believe you can even stop me?" mocked Diesel 10, acting as though he overheard the personal vow, "Ha! I'd like to see you try that!"
Both players got into their spots on the field, activated their Duel Disks, and drew their opening hands (LP: 4000) x2.
"Duel!" Thomas and Diesel 10 announced at the same time.
The hoodlums cheered for their boss, hoping he (Diesel 10) would crush Thomas in record time. The Sudrian teenagers, their new allies, and both Annie and Clarabel were hoping that Thomas would defeat Diesel 10 and save them.
"Yours truly will go first!" requested Diesel 10, drawing a card, "Draw!"
Turn One: Diesel 10 (LP: 4000)
Deck: 54
Current Hand (6): "Cyber Falcon", "Polymerization", "Machine King", "Cyber Jar", "Last Day of Witch", and "Forced Ceasefire"
The drawn card was a Trap Card called 'Forced Ceasefire', while the rest of his hand contained 'Cyber Falcon', 'Polymerization', 'Machine King', 'Cyber Jar', and 'Last Day of Witch'. All in all, Diesel 10 was quite content with this opening hand.
"I Set one card, then I'll Set a monster on my field!" As Diesel 10 spoke, he slotted a card into his Duel Disk and placed a second card there (except sideways). The device then lit up, "Read it and weep, twerp!"
Two face-down cards materialized on the field, with one of them being further up and sideways to prove it was a Monster Card.
"My turn's finished!" concluded Diesel 10.
"Everyone in this school… Captain Flynn and his team… My sisters… I have to save them all and end Diesel 10's reign!" thought Thomas, before speaking aloud, "It's my turn!" He drew a card, "Draw!"
Turn Two: Thomas Billinton (LP: 4000)
Deck: 54
Current Hand (6): "Spider's String", "Gaia The Fierce Knight", "Mystical Elf", "Obnoxious Celtic Guardian", "Mirror Force", and "Dark Magician Girl"
Upon seeing that his drawn card was his secondary ace monster, 'Dark Magician Girl', Thomas added it to his hand, which also contained 'Spider's String', 'Gaia The Fierce Knight', 'Mystical Elf', 'Obnoxious Celtic Guardian', and 'Mirror Force'.
"I can't afford to waste too much time here," thought Thomas, as he took a card from his hand, "I Summon 'Obnoxious Celtic Guardian'…" The 'Obnoxious Celtic Guardian' Effect Monster Card materialized face-up on the field, "…in Attack Position!"
Appearing from the face-up card and onto the field, was an elf-like swordsman (Level: 4/ATK: 1400/DEF: 1200).
"Battle!" continued Thomas, entering the Battle Phase.
With the captured audience…
"Thomas, don't try attacking just yet!" yelled Edward, getting Thomas's attention, "Diesel 10 might be…"
"Shut it, you!" One of the hoodlums barked, clubbing Edward in the back of the head, "Anyone who speaks up to help Thomas out will get it!"
Edward collapsed on the floor, face-down. Back on the field, Thomas watched what had happened.
"Edward!" cried Thomas, before facing Diesel 10 with anger, "Diesel 10, you bastard!" As he gave the order to his monster, 'Obnoxious Celtic Guardian' jumped into the air with his sword, "'Obnoxious Celtic Guardian', attack the Set monster!"
*SLASH!*
'Obnoxious Celtic Guardian' slashed the Set card in two, revealing the monster to be a large cybernetic-like pod.
"Well done, Thomas, but you've flipped up 'Cyber Jar'!" jeered Diesel 10.
"What?!" gasped Thomas.
'Cyber Jar' unleashed a vacuum-like suction beam, absorbing 'Obnoxious Celtic Guardian' before shattering into shards of glass.
"I must destroy all monsters on the field, then both players reveal the top 5 cards from their Decks," explained Diesel 10, drawing five cards, "then Special Summon all revealed Level 4 or lower monsters in face-up Attack Position or face-down Defense Position, also add any remaining cards to their hand. (If either player has less than 5 cards in their Deck, reveal as many as possible,)" He added the cards into his hand before taking three of his cards, "Look on the bright side, our hands are expanded upon with these cards. I Special Summon 'Motor Shell', 'Cyber Falcon', and 'Machine King Prototype'!
Appearing on the field were three monsters:
-The first one was a mixture of a mortar shell cannon and an engine motor on one wheel (Level: 4: ATK: 1300/DEF: 1800).
-The second one was a mechanically enhanced falcon with silver armor plating (Level: 4/ATK: 1400/DEF: 1200).
-The third one was a humanoid monster with silver and red hues (Level: 3/ATK: 1600/DEF: 1500).
"Machine monsters… " thought Thomas, looking at the five cards he had just drawn—them being 'Big Shield Gardna', 'Curse of Dragon', 'Polymerization', 'Magic Formula' and 'Sage's Stone'. He took one of the cards ('Big Shield Gardna') and placed it onto his Duel Disk (sideways), "I Set my monster!"
A face-down card appeared on the field (sideways).
"How boring, Thomas," insulted Diesel 10, "'Machine King Prototype's' monster effect!" Focus went towards 'Machine King Prototype' as it raised both arms and crackled with electricity and gained more power (ATK: 1600 → 1800/DEF: 1500 → 1700), "It gains 100 ATK/DEF for each Machine monster on the field, except this card! Therefore, it gains a 200 boost from my other two Machine monsters!"
"Heh! Your 'Machine King Prototype' is strong right now, but I have something far stronger," smirked Thomas.
"What the-?"
"Thanks to 'Cyber Jar', I have the cards I need to bring out my next monster," The blue-haired boy went on, as he took and held up three cards ('Gaia The Fierce Knight', 'Polymerization', and 'Curse of Dragon') from his hand, "Spell Card, 'Polymerization', activate! I fuse, from my hand, 'Gaia The Fierce Knight' with 'Curse of Dragon'!
Appearing on the field were two monsters; one was a knight riding a horse and wielding twin lances, and the other was a yellow dragon. Both monsters started fusing together while the background showed the artwork of the 'Polymerization' Spell Card.
"Great knight of valor, take up thy lance and join together with the dragon that wields the wicked flames!" chanted Thomas, before bringing both hands together, "Fusion Summon! Take flight, 'Gaia the Dragon Champion'!"
When the Fusion Summon sequence ended, 'Gaia The Fierce Knight' was now riding 'Curse of Dragon' like a steed (Level: 7/ATK: 2600/DEF: 2100).
"2600 ATK?!" flinched Diesel 10, but recovered fast, "But you've already attacked this turn," As he (Diesel 10) rambled, Thomas listened closely, "If you wanna crush my monsters, you'll need to wait until the next turn."
"I get it," grunted Thomas, taking another card from his hand, "I Set one card face-down…" He slotted the card into a Spell & Trap Zone on his Duel Disk, "…and end my turn!"
A face-down card appeared on the field behind 'Gaia the Dragon Champion'. As Diesel 10 prepared to take his turn, an image of the same teenage boy appeared beside him.
"Diesel 10, win this duel! Get our revenge on Thomas!" he pressured mentally.
"Don't you worry, master! With my Machine Deck, I'll defeat that little #^%$*!" reassured Diesel 10 mentally, before talking aloud, "It's my turn!" A card was drawn, "Draw!"
Turn Three: Diesel 10 (LP: 4000)
Deck: 48
Current Hand (7): "Cyber Falcon", "Polymerization", "Machine King", "Last Day of Witch", "Intruder Alarm - Yellow Alert", "Pot of Greed", and "Time Machine"
On cue, the 'Pot of Greed' Spell Card rose face-up on the field.
"Normal Spell, 'Pot of Greed', activate!" The voice of Diesel 10 announced, before drawing two more cards (one card at a time), "I must draw 2 cards!"
The two cards he had drawn were 'Gradius' (Normal Monster Card) and 'Metalmorph' (Trap Card). When Thomas saw the smirk on Diesel 10's face, he (Thomas) knew that whatever was being planned would be bad.
"Thanks to 'Cyber Jar', Diesel 10 surely has enough resources to Summon a high Level monster," thought Thomas, before eyeing his face-down card, "But I'll be ready for his attack with my Set card."
"Thomas!" The voice of Diesel 10 cut in, causing Thomas to look up. He was still smirking as though he knew what the opponent had in mind, "You probably think your little face-down card will be able to protect you from attacks, but I'm several steps ahead of you!" On cue, his own Set card flipped face-up and revealed itself, "Face-down card, activate! 'Forced Ceasefire'!
"No…!" grimaced Thomas.
"I must discard 1 card; until the end of this turn, no Trap Cards can be activated!" said Diesel 10 smugly, sending a card ('Gradius') from his hand to the GY. He chuckled madly before taking another card from his hand and holding it ('Polymerization') out, "Now I can run wild. I activate 'Polymerization'! With it, I'll fuse 'Cyber Falcon' on my field with another 'Cyber Falcon' in my hand!"
"What will those monsters create?" thought Thomas.
Appearing on the field was a second 'Cyber Falcon' to join the 'Cyber Falcon' that was already on the field. Both monsters started fusing together while the background showed the artwork of the 'Polymerization' Spell Card.
"Jet-powered hawks that travel at the speed of sound. Become one in the skies and eradicate your enemies at the speed of light!" chanted Diesel 10, before bringing both hands together, "Fusion Summon! Blast off, 'Mach Mega Falcon'!"
When the Fusion Summon sequence ended, the two 'Cyber Falcon's' had become one larger mechanical falcon, now with two sets of wings, giving it four in total (Level: 7/ATK: 2500/DEF: 1500).
"2500 ATK…" Thomas uttered to himself, before focus went towards 'Mach Mega Falcon' (ATK: 2500) and 'Gaia the Dragon Champion' (ATK: 2600), "That's still not enough to get over my 'Dragon Champion', Diesel 10!"
Over with the captured audience…
"Don't underestimate him, Thomas. He wiped the floor with me in no time flat!" thought Rosie.
Back on the field…
"I haven't even gotten started yet," rebutted Diesel 10, "'Mach Mega Falcon's' special effect!" As he explained the effect, 'Mach Mega Falcon' took to the skies, "Once per turn, during my Main Phase: I must gain 500 LP, and if I do, inflict 500 damage to my opponent!"
"500 damage?!" cried Emily.
Diesel 10 laughed madly as his LP rose up slightly (LP: 4000 → 4500). With more LP gained, he then gave the command for damage to be dealt to the opponent.
"Ignition Wingbeat!" commanded Diesel 10.
'Mach Mega Falcon' obeyed, flapping its wings at a tremendous speed and sending heated wind at Thomas. Thomas braced himself and grunted in pain from the power behind the attack (LP: 4000 → 3500).
"Hmhmhm…" chuckled Diesel 10, as he placed a new card ('Machine King') onto his Duel Disk and over an occupied Monster Zone, "Next, I'll Tribute 'Motor Shell'! Come forth, 'Machine King'!"
'Motor Shell' faded away in a blue streak, and appearing on the field in its place was a bigger, more powerful version of 'Machine King Prototype' (Level: 6/ATK: 2200/DEF: 2000).
"'Motor Shell's' effect!" declared Diesel 10, as a pile of scrap metal resembling engine parts appeared on the field (Level: 1/ATK: 200/DEF: 200), "If this card is sent from the field to the GY: I can Special Summon 1 'Engine Token' in Attack Position," He looked absolutely gleeful as 'Machine King Prototype' got stronger again (ATK: 1800 → 1900/DEF: 1700 → 1800), "This gives me a fourth Machine monster, meaning 'Machine King Prototype' gains an additional 100 ATK/DEF," Focus then went towards the 'Machine King' Effect Monster Card on his Duel Disk, followed by the monster itself as it grew stronger (ATK: 2200 → 2600/DEF: 2000 → 2400) "'Machine King's' monster effect! It gains 100 ATK/DEF for each Machine monster on the field!"
"Unlike the 'Prototype', the finalized 'Machine King' gains power from itself as well as other Machine monsters!" remembered Thomas.
Over with the captured audience…
"Damn! Now 'Machine King' is tied with 'Gaia the Dragon Champion' in 2600 ATK!" complained James.
"Thomas," whispered Stanley.
Back on the field, Thomas braced himself for what was coming.
"Battle!" gloated Diesel 10, entering the Battle Phase. As he gave the order to attack, 'Machine King' raised one of its fists, "'Machine King', shoot 'Gaia the Dragon Champion' out of the sky! Jet Punch!"
"Counterattack!" growled Thomas, as 'Gaia the Dragon Champion' dodged Jet Punch and impaled 'Machine King' with one of the lances, "Double Dragon Lance!"
'Machine King' shattered into shards of glass, but, suddenly, the fired fist suddenly turned around and struck 'Gaia the Dragon Champion' in the back, destroying him. Both monsters were destroyed in a double KO.
"Both our monsters are dead!" stated Diesel 10, just as his 'Machine King Prototype' grew weaker (ATK: 1900 → 1800/DEF: 1800 → 1700), "Of course, with one less Machine monster, 'Machine King Prototype' loses another 100 ATK and DEF, but that doesn't matter!" He then resumed his Battle Phase, "'Mach Mega Falcon', attack his Set monster!"
'Mach Mega Falcon' let out a loud screech as the metal feathers on its four wings began to glow purple. While that was going on, Thomas's Set monster was revealed to be a humanoid male wielding a huge shield (Level: 4/ATK: 100/DEF: 2600).
"'Big Shield Gardna', eh?" mused Diesel 10, but didn't care all that much, "Rapid Razor Plumes!"
With a mighty flap of its wings, 'Mach Mega Falcon' unleashed a barrage of razor sharp, purple glowing feathers towards 'Big Shield Gardna'. The feathers collided with the huge shield, but because 'Big Shield Gardna' had greater DEF, the razor sharp barrage rebounded towards Diesel 10 and struck the area around him. Despite having to take damage from the failed attack, he was completely okay with it.
"I take 100 recoil damage," snickered Diesel 10 (LP: 4500 → 4400), "But…"
"'Big Shield Gardna's' second effect…" groaned Thomas, as 'Big Shield Gardna' stood up into a battle ready position (DEF: 2600 → ATK: 100), "If this card is attacked, I must change it to Attack Position at the end of the Damage Step."
"Thomas's monster is open to being destroyed!" realized Stanley.
"You're making this so easy for me!" laughed Diesel 10, as he gave an order to 'Engine Token', "'Engine Token', destroy 'Big Shield Gardna'!"
'Engine Token' obeyed, firing a blast right through 'Big Shield Gardna's' chest and causing him to shatter into shards of glass. Thomas gritted his teeth as his LP took a tiny hit (LP: 3500 → 3400).
"Now you're finally defenseless," beamed Diesel 10, just as 'Machine King Prototype' raised both its fists, "'Machine King Prototype', attack Thomas directly!"
'Machine King Prototype' obeyed, firing off both fists like 'Machine King's' Jet Punch. Thomas screamed as one fist slugged him in the stomach, and the other fist slammed him in the face.
"Thomas!" yelled Emily.
"Big Brother!" Annie and Clarabel shrieked at once.
Thomas was ultimately thrown back as his LP took a much bigger hit (LP: 3400 → 1600). Diesel 10 smiled sadistically over his most hated enemy getting badly hurt, while the image of that mysterious teenage boy in purple robes appeared beside him.
"Yes, do it quickly. Kill him and bring me victory!" The teenage boy commanded mentally, very pleased.
"Oh, I will master," agreed Diesel 10 mentally, before holding up a card taken from his hand, "I Set one card and end my turn!"
He slotted the card into a Spell & Trap Zone on his Duel Disk, causing a face-down card to appear on the field near his feet. While Thomas was getting back on his feet after sustaining such a devastating hit, Diesel 10 laughed in delight at his (Thomas) misfortune.
"You're no match for me, Thomas Billinton!" bragged Diesel 10, as Thomas scowled while listening, "Once I defeat you, you alone will pay for ruining my chance in becoming principal of your school!" He was no longer smiling, "My life!"
"Pay?! For what?" snarled Thomas, "You tried to take over the school and hurt innocent people, teachers and students alike!" The audience and hoodlums listened to his speech, "And all for what? Just because you couldn't become principal of one damn school?!" Diesel 10 began to get even angrier from listening to him (Thomas), "You got exactly what you deserved when you got your arm crushed and arrested for your crimes!" Finishing his speech, he clenched his right hand into a fist and pointed forth, "I will gladly make sure you waste the rest of your life rotting behind bars!"
With the audience…
"Whoa… Passionate, isn't he?" admired Carlie.
Back on the field, Diesel 10 seethed as the same teenage boy again spoke up.
"Defeat him, Diesel 10! Defeat him, right now!" dared the teenage boy mentally.
"You little bastard! I'll abolutely make sure your death is absolutely slow and agonizing!" promised Diesel 10 hatefully, as Thomas listened, "Do you hear me?!"
"Save your threats, Diesel 10. Mark my words; no matter what you try, you will never defeat me in this duel!" retorted Thomas, before drawing a card, "It's my turn!"
Turn Four: Thomas Billinton (LP: 1600)
Deck: 48
Current Hand (6): "Spider's String", "Mystical Elf", "Dark Magician Girl", "Magic Formula", "Sage's Stone", and "Magical Dimension"
His drawn card was a Spell Card called 'Magical Dimension'—exactly what he needed to turn things around.
"Here I go, Diesel 10!" began Thomas, just as a blue-skinned elf monster appeared on the field in a defensive stance (Level: 4/ATK: 800/DEF: 2000), "I Summon 'Mystical Elf' in Defense Position!"
"Ha ha ha ha… What good is a weakling like her?" Diesel 10 laughed mockingly.
"Then, from my hand, I'll activate the Quick-Play Spell, 'Magical Dimension'!" countered Thomas, taking another card ('Magical Dimension') from his hand and holding it out, "If I control a Spellcaster monster: I must target 1 monster I control; I must Tribute that target, then Special Summon 1 Spellcaster monster from my hand, then I can destroy 1 monster on the field!"
"Y-You wouldn't!" stammered Diesel 10.
"I would, and I will!" accepted Thomas, just as a casket shaped like 'Dark Magician' rose from the ground behind 'Mystical Elf', "I Tribute 'Mystical Elf'!"
The casket opened up and 'Mystical Elf' jumped inside as the coffin closed up. Upon opening back up, a gorgeous female monster with blonde hair, blush stickers on her cheeks, a very voluptuous figure, and also clad in a revealing outfit jumped out.
"Come forth, 'Dark Magician Girl'!" The voice of Thomas ordered, as the above scenario partially played out.
Armed with her wand, 'Dark Magician Girl' posed on the field for battle (Level: 6/ATK: 2000/DEF: 1700).
"With 'Magical Dimension's' optional effect, I'll destroy your 'Mach Mech Falcon'!" reminded Thomas.
Another large casket shaped like 'Dark Magician' rose up from the ground on Diesel 10's field and opened up, causing a purple fog to pull 'Mach Mega Falcon' inside as it closed.
"You son-of-a-!" threatened Diesel 10.
Just before he could finish his sentence, the coffin exploded and left a cloud of dust on his side of the field. Upset over losing his strong monster, Diesel 10 could do nothing but yell in a rage, while 'Machine King Prototype' lost more ATK and DEF (ATK: 1800 → 1700/DEF: 1700 → 1600).
"I'm not done!" continued Thomas, slotting a card into his Duel Disk. This caused a Spell Card called 'Sage's Stone' to materialize face-up on the field, "I activate 'Sage's Stone'!" As he explained what his card did, he eventually held up one more card ('Dark Magician') taken from his Deck, "If I control a face-up 'Dark Magician Girl': I must Special Summon 1 'Dark Magician' from my hand or Deck!"
Appearing on the field while twirling his scepter, was the purple-haired, male Spellcaster monster (Level: 7/ATK: 2500/DEF: 2100).
"Amazing! Thomas controls his two ace monsters!" cheered James R..
"I equip 'Dark Magician Girl' with 'Magic Formula'!" The voice of Thomas went on, as the mentioned Spell Card materialized face-up on the field behind 'Dark Magician Girl' and caused a spellbook to appear in her hands—causing her to grow stronger after reading a few pages (ATK: 2000 → 2500), "I must equip only to a Spellcaster monster. It gains 500 ATK. 'Dark Magician Girl' has 2500 ATK just like her teacher!"
"Goddamn, Thomas!" swore Diesel 10, just before he realized his master was standing beside him and watching, "Are you're still here, master?"
(elsewhere…)
Within the darkness of Diesel 10's mind…
"What's wrong, Diesel 10?" scolded the teenage boy mentally, "I thought you said you would defeat Thomas with your Machine Deck?"
"D-Don't worry, master… I won't lose to him! I'm merely warming up!" assured Diesel 10 mentally, "In fact, I already have the perfect card to kill his 'Magicians' in my hand."
"I'll take your word for it…" The teenage boy said sneeringly, before beginning to fade away at least for now, "But you'd better not lose to him—or else!"
(elsewhere…)
Back in the real world…
"Here I go! Battle!" boomed Thomas, entering the Battle Phase, "'Dark Magician Girl', attack 'Engine Token'!" As he announced the attack name of his monster, 'Dark Magician Girl' pointed her wand forward and fired off a magical blast, "Dark Burning Attack!"
The attack struck 'Engine Token' and destroyed it, causing Diesel 10 to grimace as he lost more LP (LP: 4400 → 2100).
"And now, with no other Machine monsters on the field except itself, 'Machine King Prototype's' ATK and DEF return to their original value!" Thomas pointed out, just as 'Machine King Prototype' lost all of its gained power (ATK: 1700 → 1600/DEF: 1600 → 1500). He then resumed the Battle Phase and gave another order as 'Dark Magician' once again twirled his scepter a few times, "'Dark Magician', attack 'Machine King Prototype'! Dark Magic Attack!"
Aiming his scepter, 'Dark Magician' fired off a colorful blast at 'Machine King Prototype'. The enemy monster was struck before exploding from destruction, much to Diesel 10's displeasure as more LP was lost (LP: 2100 → 1200).
"Ngh… Heh! You think that's the end of 'Machine King Prototype'? Not a chance! My Deck is filled with invincible Machine cards!" warned Diesel 10, before he pressed a button on his Duel Disk. This caused his Set card to flip face-up and reveal itself, "I activate a Trap Card, 'Time Machine'!"
"Oh, not that!" worried Rosie.
In the spot where 'Machine King Prototype' was destroyed, a large time capsule rose from the ground.
"'Time Machine'?" blinked Percy.
"What is that capsule?" put in Emily.
As soon as the capsule fully emerged, it let off steam before opening the doors.
"The door is opening!" exclaimed Henry.
From there, 'Machine King Prototype' was back on the field like nothing bad had happened to it, much to the shock of Thomas (Level: 3/ATK: 1600/DEF: 1500).
"Wh-What the-?" The voice of Thomas cried out.
"When a monster is destroyed by battle and sent to the GY: I must Special Summon that monster to the same field it was on, in the same battle position it was in when destroyed," explained Diesel 10, "I told you my Deck is filled with invincible Machine cards!" He did a thumbs down motion with his right hand, "There are plenty more where these came from!"
"Even so, that was pointless, Diesel 10," berated Thomas, shutting Diesel 10 up before talking about 'Dark Magician' and 'Dark Magician Girl' (ATK: 2500) x2, "Both my monsters have 2500 ATK," He continued to look firm in his belief, "Your 'Machine King Prototype' is no match for that kind of power."
"Don't bull$*#^ me, you idiot!" snapped Diesel 10 profanely, but then smirked and chuckled evilly, "Sure, you can enjoy your little victory thus far, but that win will ultimately be meaningless when I defeat you in the end!"
"I end my turn," finished Thomas.
"It's my turn!" gloated Diesel 10, before drawing a card, "Draw card!"
Turn Five: Diesel 10 (LP: 1200)
Deck: 45
Current Hand (4): "Last Day of Witch", "Intruder Alarm - Yellow Alert", "Metalmorph", and "Card of Demise"
On cue, three Set cards materialized on the field.
"First, I Set three cards face-down!" The voice of Diesel 10 began, before he was shown holding out his drawn card ('Card of Demise'), "From there, I'll activate the Spell Card, 'Card of Demise'!
"Oh, come on! Seriously?!" whined James.
"He can refresh his hand that easily?" accused Gordon.
"I must draw until I have 5 cards in my hand," said Diesel 10, drawing five new cards, "but send all cards in my hand to the GY during my 5th Standby Phase after activation."
"No wonder he Set the rest of his hand first…" winced Percy.
The cards Diesel 10 drew were 'Timeater' (Monster Card), 'Cost Down' (Spell Card), 'Motor Frenzy' (Monster Card), 'Zoa' (Monster Card), and 'Pre-Preparation of Rites' (Spell Card).
"With my hand giving me new options, I will proceed to crush you!" proclaimed Diesel 10, holding up another card ('Motor Frenzy'), "I Tribute 'Machine King Prototype'!" As 'Machine King Prototype' faded away in a blue streak as a new monster started to appear, "I Tribute Summon 'Motor Frenzy' in Attack Position!"
The new monster was a large motorized cyborg with twin blasters for hands (Level: 6/ATK: 2100/DEF: 1200).
"What kind of monster is that?" worried Thomas.
With the crowd…
"One you shouldn't have to worry about, Thomas!" reassured James, "It only has 2100 ATK!"
"James, I really wish you would stop underestimating the opponent," grumbled Percy.
Back on the field, Diesel 10 giggled dementedly over James's comment.
"How wrong you are, punk. Behold 'Motor Frenzy's' first effect!" dared Diesel 10, "If this card is Normal or Special Summoned, or if another Machine monster(s) is Normal or Special Summoned to my field: I can…" Focus went towards 'Motor Frenzy' as it crackled with electricity before growing even stronger than normal (ATK: 2100 → 2700), "…activate this effect; until the end of my opponent's turn, that Normal or Special Summoned monster(s) gains ATK equal to half its original DEF, also its battle position cannot be changed!" He laughed like a madman once more, "'Motor Frenzy' now has 2700 ATK!"
Thomas growled in response.
"And who needs to attack one of your beloved ace monsters?" rambled Diesel 10, "I can just get rid of them in an instant!" On cue, the center Set card of his flipped face-up and revealed itself before unleashing a wind blast, "Face-down Spell activate, 'Last Day of Witch'! I must destroy all Spellcaster monsters on the field!"
The wind was felt by Thomas and both his monsters, but 'Dark Magician' and 'Dark Magician Girl' soon shattered into shards of glass.
"What?! 'Dark Magician'! 'Dark Magician Girl'!" called Thomas.
"There go your two best monsters, Thomas!" cackled Diesel 10, figuring that there was nothing standing between him and victory, "With only 1600 LP, one direct attack will finish you off! I win!" He entered the Battle Phase and gave the command to 'Motor Frenzy', "'Motor Frenzy', attack the enemy player directly!"
'Motor Frenzy' obeyed, took aim and fired twin blasts from its weapons at a defenseless Thomas, who stood and waited for the end to come.
"DIE, THOMAS!" roared Diesel 10.
The audience watched in horror as Thomas was about to lose the duel.
"THOMAS!" screamed Emily.
Back on the field…
"Hmph!" grinned Thomas, "You weren't paying attention, Diesel 10."
Diesel 10 gawked, "Huh?!"
"You were so busy gloating about how you're going to beat me, that you forgot all about my face-down card!" scolded Thomas.
"What?!" flailed Diesel 10, before noticing Thomas's Set card, "$*#^! I did forget about it!"
"Trap Card, 'Holy Barrier - Mirror Force', activate!" announced Thomas, as his Set card flipped face-up and revealed itself. As he explained the effect, the incoming attack suddenly struck a barrier formed around his field, "When an opponent's monster declares an attack: I must destroy all my opponent's Attack Position monsters!"
Diesel 10 screamed as the mirror-like barrier deflected 'Motor Frenzy's' attack right back at it. 'Motor Frenzy' was hit and reeled in pain before exploding from destruction.
"'Motor Frenzy' has been destroyed by its own attack!" smirked Thomas, "In exchange for destroying my monsters, I've done the same to you!"
"My monster is gone…" whispered Diesel 10, "Destroyed by…!" He (Diesel 10) eyed Thomas with utter hatred, "You friggin' son-of-a-bitch!"
"With both of us out of monsters, what will you do now, Diesel 10?" teased Thomas coldly.
Diesel 10 gritted his teeth, about to let loose an f-bomb when he sensed his master appearing in spirit once more.
(elsewhere…)
Within the darkness of Diesel 10's mind…
"Diesel 10, are you slacking off?" The teenage boy wondered.
"Master-!" uttered Diesel 10, "Just hold on, I haven't yet gotten started with Thomas."
"I want you to eliminate Thomas, but you're failing miserably," huffed the teenage boy, "You said you'd do it, but instead you got your monster destroyed by a simple Trap Card. I will warn you…" While he told off Diesel 10, the dark mustard-haired man lost patience, "…one last time; defeat Thomas… Kill him!"
"Shut up!" barked Diesel 10, "Don't order me around, you little $*#^!"
By saying that, however, Diesel 10 had broken the straw in the camel's back.
"That does it!" The teenage boy said angrily, taking out the Millennium Rod from within his cloak, "If you want something done right, you do it yourself."
"W-Wait, master! I-I-I was just kidding!" gulped Diesel 10, realizing he went too far.
(elsewhere…)
Back in the real world, Diesel 10 was clutching the sides of his head while appearing to be in pain.
"N-No! Stop! I didn't mean it! I'm sorry!" wailed Diesel 10, for everyone to see.
"Diesel 10?" wondered Thomas.
"What's going on?" added Toby.
As Diesel 10 screamed, he felt something taking over his mind. That someone was the teenage boy he was talking to in-private.
"You had your chance, and you blew it!" The voice of the mysterious teenage boy echoed, "Using the power of my Millennium Rod, I will fight Thomas in your place!"
Diesel 10 let out a final yell of pain before quieting down. Raising his head, everybody could now see that something was wrong. Diesel 10's face was now blank and emotionless, and the symbol of the Millennium Eye was glowing on his forehead.
"It seems I'll have to take over this fight," uttered Diesel 10 (possessed), speaking in a monotone-like voice.
"Huh?" fretted Thomas, "Diesel 10, what's wrong with you?"
"Heh! As you would ever know," Diesel 10 (possessed) told himself, before addressing Thomas again, "As good as your counter was, it was worthless in the end. You wasted a perfectly good Trap on a monster that serves me better in the GY!"
"In your GY?!" repeated Thomas.
"The second effect of 'Motor Frenzy' activates!" replied Diesel 10 (possessed), just as two 'Engine Tokens' appeared on his field (Level: 1/ATK: 200/DEF: 200) x2, "If this Tribute Summoned card is sent to the GY: I can Special Summon 2 'Engine Tokens' in Attack Position!"
"More of those Tokens?" quizzed Henry.
"Now everything is ready… I will now bring out an extremely powerful, ultra rare monster," snickered Diesel 10 (possessed), holding up a card ('Pre-Preparation of Rites'), "I activate 'Pre-Preparation of Rites'! I must add 1 Ritual Spell from my Deck to my hand, and add 1 Ritual Monster from my Deck or GY to my hand whose name is mentioned on that Ritual Spell."
"A Ritual Spell and Ritual Monster at once?" murmured Stanley, as his (Stanley) eyes focused on Diesel 10 (possessed), "What are the cards he'll choose?"
"I have the perfect ones in mind…" beamed Diesel 10 (possessed), before holding two cards ('Zera Ritual' and 'Zera the Mant') "'Zera Ritual' and 'Zera the Mant'!"
Thomas gasped, and the audience that weren't members of Diesel 10's gang were not looking any better.
"Among the Fiend monsters, 'Zera the Mant' is a powerful and ferocious card," revealed Zack, "I can't believe Diesel 10 has access to one of the three copies known to the world."
Back on the field…
"Ritual Spell, 'Zera Ritual'!" whispered Diesel 10 (possessed), slotting his card into the Duel Disk and causing, from a puff of smoke, a demon sitting on a throne to appear on the field, "This card is used to Ritual Summon 'Zera the Mant'. I must also Tribute monsters from my hand or field whose total Levels equal 8 or more!" He chortled aloud, "I hope you will accept the honor of meeting this fearsome demon, Thomas…" From there, he held up a card ('Timeater') from his hand, "I Tribute, from my hand, Level 6 'Timeater'!" That was followed by both 'Engine Tokens' being absorbed, "Along with my two Level 1 'Engine Tokens'!"
Appearing on the field was a large demonic-looking clock monster—before it, too, was absorbed by the power of the 'Zera Ritual' Spell Card.
"Ritual Summon!" raged Diesel 10 (possessed), as he raised and placed a card ('Zera the Mant') onto his Duel Disk, "Arise, 'Zera the Mant'!"
The magic show soon ended, and appearing on the field was a huge blue and black Fiend monster with sharp claws and wearing a large purple cape, letting out a huge roar in the process (Level: 8/ATK: 2800/DEF: 2300).
"No way…" murmured Thomas.
"As soon as I defeat you with 'Zera'," promised Diesel 10 (possessed), "there will be no witnesses left behind when we burn your corpse!" There was a slasher smile on his face, "Thomas, I'll have my revenge. I'll have my revenge… I'll have my revenge!"
Creepy laughter escaped from his mouth. Would Thomas be able to defeat 'Zera the Mant' and Diesel 10, or, rather, what's possessing his mind? Stay tuned to find that out.
We all know how this went down in the original version, but this version has quite a bit of polishing up to correct a major amount of errors—the duel especially has seem some very drastic changes.
