Chapter Thirteen
"Call me when you land." Paul requested.
"I will." I promised, kissing his full lips. Angela and I were about to start boarding our flight to Dallas. I looked over to see her and Quil in a similar position. I was fighting back tears; this would be the first and longest time I've been away from him since I moved home. The tears started spilling, winning the battle I was fighting.
"Hey baby it's okay." Paul held me tight to him, my tears soaking his Henley, "You'll be back before we know it."
"I'm just gonna miss you, that's all." I sniffled.
"Babe please, you know I hate to see you cry, think about seeing Gemma and Hannah." He was trying his best to comfort me. The elders warned me it might be hard to leave Paul because I'm marked making our bond deeper than the other imprinted couples. I didn't realize how bonded we were until it was time for us to leave. I tilted my head up and smashed my lips to Paul's.
He kissed me back like his life depended on it, shoving his hands in my hair he gently pulled it. We stopped when Quil started whistling and I blushed 50 shades of red. Paul slapped him upside the head and pressed his lips to mine.
"I love you bumblebee. It's only a few days." I nodded and kissed him one last time.
"Dear god you guys never stop touching each other." Quil groaned, "This is the third time you guys have kissed in a span of two minutes."
I rolled my eyes and grabbed my bag and carry-on. Double checking to be sure I had everything. I hugged Paul and started towards security. Before I could get too far Paul smacked my ass. I turned around with my jaw on the floor and he just smirked while Quil was howling with laughter.
"Bye baby."
"Bye Paul." I said with an eye roll but quickly blew him a kiss afterwards.
"He loves you." Turning at the voice I saw a beautiful old woman. Her silver hair was long and thick, she had bright blue eyes, and a warm smile.
"I know. I love him too." I responded smiling.
"I can tell. You two remind me of my late husband and I. We couldn't keep our hands off of each other." Her eyes showed a wistful look with a hint of sadness.
"Oh, I'm so sorry."
"It's fine dear. I'll see him again one day. Cherish the love you have, it's not something everyone experiences." She grabbed my hand and squeezed it with a smile before walking away. Angela and I made our way through the TSA surprisingly fast; we were at our gate waiting to board our flight. We talked about how excited we were to see our friends and going to Fort Worth.
Even though I was already missing Paul like crazy I'm grateful for the one-on-one time with Angie. We rarely get to spend time with just us because of her job, our relationships, and she lives with two of our best friends.
Bella: Just boarded our flight. About to take off. I love you, x
Paul: I love you more. Call me as soon as you land bumblebee.
"OH MY GOD!" Gemma squealed as she attacked us with a hug. I squeezed her back just as tight while also trying to blink away tears. I missed her so much the past couple of months. We were roommates the whole time we were in college, and this was the longest we've gone without seeing each other in four years.
"I missed you Gemmy."
"Of course you did. What's there not to miss?" She winked at me, but I saw her wipe away a tear. We loaded our bags into Gemma's Bronco and headed towards our favorite brunch spot. Gem was complaining about her new client and how she's tired of Dallas. I shot a quick text to Paul letting him know we made it safe.
Bella: We landed. In the car with G headed to get brunch.
Paul: I know I was watching the flight status online, haha. How's Gemma?
Bella: Good. Complaining about Dallas and her clients, lol. The usual.
Paul: Well, have fun baby. I love you. Call me when you get settled. We can have some Facetime sex (;
Bella: PAUL! I love you too, you dirty wolf. x
"Everyone is trying to move to Dallas and it's like I get all of the nightmare clients. Ugh! I miss Norman so much. It's so crowded here now." Gem exclaimed. We were on our third round of mimosas, and she was still going on and on.
"Well bring your ass to the West coast." I threw in with a smirk.
"Don't tempt me. I'm so tired of this place. I need a change; I was thinking of moving to Austin or Houston, but Texas isn't feeling like home anymore."
"Come visit soon and see if you like it. It's worth a shot AND you also have friends there already." Angela added. Our food arrived and we ordered another pitcher of mimosas then dug in.
"The waiter keeps trying to flirt with you B. He's hot." Gemma pointed out practically drooling.
I looked at him from across the room and observed him for a second. He had curly brown hair, green eyes, looked super fit but he didn't hold a candle to my wolf. I shrugged, "He's alright."
"Alright? Oh, bitch you're in love. Show me a picture of Paul! You haven't posted online in forever."
I pulled my phone out and found a picture of Paul which wasn't hard because the man never takes a bad picture. This one was from a week ago. We were at Em and Sam's on the porch in our own world.
"Holy shit. No wonder you said that guy is alright. I didn't know he looked like THIS." Gemma snatched my phone and started scrolling through pictures of him, "Does he have a brother? If he does, I'll move to La Push right now."
I laughed at her and took my phone back. She started grilling me about our relationship. I answered all of her questions as truthfully as I could. It was hard getting into details because she wasn't allowed to know about the pack. After we finished brunch, we headed to Fort Worth to decorate the Airbnb for Hannah. As we were getting in the car an uneasy feeling came over me like I was being watched. I looked around but didn't see anyone. I just took it as me being anxious because I'm so far away from Paul.
Hannah was so happy with how everything looked she cried. We didn't know but apparently us coming was a surprise. Gemma told her our flight got canceled and we weren't going to make it so that made it extra special. I was getting ready for tonight in the same room as Angela. I picked up my phone and looked at the picture of Paul and I then sighed
"What's wrong B?" Angela asked. Tears came to my eyes, and I tried to choke them down. She realized I was crying, and she rushed over to me, "Bella what's wrong?"
"I just miss Paul. It hurts to be this far away from him. I feel like a piece of me is missing." I hugged the pillow to my chest.
"I get it. I miss Quil. I imagine you feel worse because of the mark. Call him. I bet he's feeling the same way." She reassured me. Right after she finished her sentence my phone rang. We both looked at it and laughed. Angela stuck her tongue out at me, "Told you."
I rolled my eyes then answered, "Hey."
"What's wrong? You're upset. I can feel it through our bond." He fired off immediately.
"I'm okay. I just miss you." I answered honestly, my voice breaking at the end.
"I know sweetheart, I miss you too." He rasped. I knew this was hard for both of us and I felt like I was making it even worse with this meltdown. I switched to FaceTime and felt better when I saw his face. We talked while I finished getting ready. Paul growled when I put on my outfit. I had on a denim corset top, with a matching mini skirt paired with my white cowboy boots and hat.
"What baby?" I asked innocently.
"You know what. That outfit is fuck hot." He gave me an eye roll and smirked.
"Too bad you're not here to take it off later." I pouted.
"Wanna see how fast I can run to Texas?" I laughed which caused him to start laughing too. I'm glad I listened to Angela and called him. The last two days have been so busy I've barely talked to Paul.
"Bella bear! Let's go take some shots!" Hannah and Gemma ran in the room and tackled me on the bed. They looked at my phone and their eyes lit up.
"Well hello handsome!" Gemma greeted, grabbing my phone.
Hannah snatched it from her a few seconds later, "You better be at my wedding with Bella so we can officially meet you or we'll fly to Washington and kick your ass!"
"Oh, I'll be there. It's been hard being away from her for three days. I definitely can't do it for a week." He told them.
"SWOON! Okay Bells, you can keep him." Hannah stated.
"You're such a mom Hannah." I laughed and took my phone.
"Nope just the big sister you always wanted." She winked at me.
"I gotta go baby I love you."
"Call me when you guys make it home. I love you pretty girl."
After blowing him a kiss I hung up and went to join my friends. I met everyone in the kitchen, and we hung out while we waited for our ride. I still missed Paul like crazy, but the FaceTime call helped tremendously. Just one more night then I would finally be in his arms again and I can't wait.
"I already miss you guys." Gemma said, hugging Angela and me.
"Promise you'll come visit soon?" I asked her.
"Definitely! After all of this wedding stuff is over, I'll be on the first flight to Washington." She assured us.
"Good. Maybe we can convince you to stay." Angela said hopefully.
We all hugged one last time then Angela and I went to go through security. We both were anxious to get back to our wolves and away from the Texas heat. After being in Washington for so long we were not used to the southern weather anymore. My phone beeped and it was a text from Gemma.
Gemma: Hey, it's Gem this is my work phone. You left your wallet in my car. I'm in the parking garage.
Bella: Fuck. Okay on my way to you.
I turned to Angela, "I left my wallet in the car. I'm gonna go run and get it."
"I'll go with you. We're here early enough that we'll get through security in time to board."
We took off to Gemma's car. The parking garage wasn't far, so we got there in no time. I didn't see Gemma, so I was about to call her, but she beat me to it.
"Hey where are you? We're in the parking garage." I asked when I answered putting her on speaker.
"I'm driving? Why are you in the parking garage?"
"You text me from your work phone and told me I left my wallet in your car." I said matter-of-factly.
"Bells, I don't have a work phone. My office takes all of my calls."
As soon as she said that my stomach dropped, and a feeling of dread hit me like a Mack truck. I looked at Angela and her face was showing how I felt. I took in our surroundings and realized we were on the top floor of the parking garage where not many people parked. Something is very wrong.
"Angela, we need to go right no- "everything went black before I could finish my sentence.
A/N: Don't hate me! I know I said this last time, but I will update either tonight or tomorrow. I'm already working on the chapter. What do you guys think happened? Also, I went through every chapter and fixed typos, took things put, added things in, etc. so feel free to reread. I believe chapter 3 and 4 have the most changes.
