Manually opening a gate was proving to be impossible. He needed his damn digivice. With a wave of his hand Ken sent the new laptop flying across the room in frustration.
"Useless thing." He muttered. He would need his device, he just had to figure out how to get it. He would need some leverage. On the off chance they could defend against his powers. He frowned, he shouldnt have been so quick to reveal he had more power. He pondered his options. He could steal Daisuke's Veemon, however that would require sneaking back into that bunker. He growled in frustration till something beeped in his bag. He went to look through it and retrieved a d-terminal he didn't even know he had. A message from the older leader appeared idly talking about a get together sometime. Ken smirked as a plan formulated.
"Ok that should be everything for the spell." Cass said. He watched the map table to see where it would reveal his missing sons location. As the magic worked Daisukes phone went off. He looked at the name that popped up. "Uh either that spells compelling him to contact us or he's up to something." Daisuke said as he answered. "Yo, come to your senses yet?" The boy asked. "I am perfectly sane, if that's what you're implying." Ken replied. "Right, cause drinking demon blood is what sane people do." Daisuke stated. He whispered an apology when he saw Sam cringe at the statment. "I merely saw an opportunity to get stronger and took it. Speaking of, another opportunity presented itself that I decided to take as well." Ken explained.
There was a pause before another voice presented itself. "Daisuke! What the hell is wrong with Ken?" Taichis voice came over the phone. Daisukes eyes widened. "What the hell did you do Ken?" He questioned. "I invited your mentor over to my office. Seems he's under the same delusion that I'm some sweet, kind, friend of yours too. Now if you wish for him to remain unharmed you will bring me my dark digivice!" Ken demanded. The group looked at each other confused. "What does he mean…dark?" Osamu asked Daisuke away from the phone. "There's a difference in the devices?" He continued. Daisuke shook his head. " Other than the d3s being more advance than the first generations I don't think so." Daisuke said. "In anycase I have his location." Castiel told them. "Are you still there?" Ken said over the phone having been receiving silence on his end. "Yeah, yeah you want your device for Taichi, You better not hurt him, Ken." Daisuke said. "Well then, you better bring me my device. I have no use for this world and plan to reclaim my empire in the digital one. I'll send you the meeting spot and time." Ken stated as he hung up.
Why would he be here?" Osamu questioned as he and Castiel made their way into an office building. They discovered the meeting spot was different from what the spell revealed. They opted to show up early to Kens hideout, hoping to ambush the boy. Daisuke would be waiting in the car as back up. Cass shook his head looking to his son and respond to his question. "This is where the tracking spell led us. Unless you have another blood relative here in America, it should be him." The two continued in before being stopped by the secretary. "Can I help you? This building is for clients only." She explained looking between the two. Osamu stepped forward. "Uh yeah, we were supposed to meet my brother here." He said. "I think we have the right place. He looks like me but with long hair." The woman studied Osamu for a moment. He definitely looked like the one who came in earlier that had an account with them. "I can't just give out information like rooms and such. Let me just call his office to confirm your meeting." She said in her professional manner. As she picked up the phone Castiel moved to stop her. " That's not necessary. He knows we are coming, just tell us where." Castiel's eyes lit up momentarily. He hated messing with the will of humans, but they were hoping to get the jump on Ken. He couldn't be made aware they knew how to track him.
He stiffened up as his senses picked up on something, or someone approaching his office. While it could be another tenant, he knew his body was on alert because something other than human was coming. He moved to open the cooler and take a shot of demon blood. Last thing he needed was for it to wear off just when he was in trouble.
He'd taken a third gulp as the door was thrown open with probably more force than necessary. Ken stood his ground as his brother entered accompanied by a tall man in a suit and tan overcoat. "You brought the Seraphim I take it?" Ken addressed his brother.
Osamu narrowed his eyes. "Ken wheres Taichi?" He asked. Ken smirked. "Well, this isnt the time or place I listed so sorry to say I dont have him with me." He said calmly. Castiel took a moment to scanned the boy before him. The demeanor, energy, everything was off. Even time itself was off around this boy. "You're not our Ken." He stated finally. Osamu whipped around to stare at his father. "What? But, but we tested for a shifter, or anything else." The older boy insisted. Castiel shook his head. "He is human and he is Ken, however he is Ken Ichijouji from another timeline. Never having taken the name Winchester." The angel explained. Osamu's eyes widened. "So that's why his memories are so different." He whispered. "So then, where the hell is my brother?!" He shouted. "Possibly in the timeline this one came from. That witch must have meant to send Ken away from her and instead switch him out with another." Castiel moved forward and gripped Ken's arm to get a good read on him. Ken tried to jerk back. He lifted his free arm to send the angel flying. Castiel gave him a stern look, his eyes boring down on the younger boy. "Your demon powers won't have much effect on me." Castiel said calmly. "That's not all that corrupts you though is it?" Ken just glared hate filled up at the seraph. "What do you mean dad?" Osamu asked. He was grateful for his supernatural father. His uncles were great but they had gotten no where with figuring things out. While Castiel could see everything going on just by looking at Ken. "There's something dark embedded in him." Castiel worked to sense what is was. "You were injured in the digital world when you were 8, were you not?" Cass asked the boy.
Ken narrowed his eyes. "I take it so was this other me you claim exists." Ken simply said. Osamu gasped as things clicked. "That spore thing Ken had in his neck when he was young. This one must not have had you around to cleanse it." Osamu told his father. He shuddered at the thought that this cold, eerie version of his brother could have been the same result for his kind, light hearted one if not for having an angel for a dad
"If my friends are dead I am so gonna make you pay!" Ken shouted as the two digimon were dragging him into a small house back in the real world. "I'm very curious how you think you'd pull that off." Arukenimon said with amusement.
"Never underestimate a Winchester." Ken commented.
"Winchester? My your parents would be heartbroken to know you threw away your family name as well when you ran away." Ken jumped and looked over to the side of the room to see a tall man with long dark hair, pale skin and wearing a dark purple trench coat. "Wow you're creepy.
Guess it's just Angels that can make trench coats look good." Ken remarked.
"You certainly have developed quite the sarcastic attitude. I preferred the eloquence you carried not to long ago. Tell me, what's changed?" The man asked. "I doubt you'd belive me. So how about instead you tell me what the hells going on?" Ken insisted.
"Fair enough, my name is Oikawa Yukio. And let's just say I have some stakes in the digital world that require your dark abilities and their source." He explained. "My dark abilities source?" Ken questioned. He may be about to get the answers to what happened in this timeline.
"Millenniummons spore. It was thanks to that power you became so talented. It enhanced your intelligence and physical being. Do you know how many would love that power?" The man held up what appeared to be a scanner. "If you refuse to continue your destruction of the digital world and it's boarders, I'm sure I can find another who will. I only need a copy of that seed." He came forward a grabbed Ken's shoulder and turning the boy around. Ken attempted to trip the guy, however with his arms tied up and Arukenimon keeping a firm hold on his other arm, he wasn't too successful.
Oikawa pressed the scanner to the back of Ken's neck. After a moment confusion made it's way on to his face. After a few more attempts. "I don't understand. Why is it not copying anything?" He said. "This is the spot you were hit with it right?" He demanded.
"Oh is the spore what that was that injured my neck? Yeah I don't have that anymore." Ken smirked
"But how!" Oikawa shouted. "Theres no way you were aware of it, or could figure out how to remove it." He growled. "Let just say I had some divine intervention." Ken responded. The man shoved Ken aside and glared at the two digimon in the room
"Without that spore he's useless to me!" Oikawa shouted. "Um rude. I'll have you know there are loads of supernatural creatures that think I'm a prize." Ken sassed. "What do you want us to do with him, boss?" Arukenimon asked. "I don't care, eat the brat if you want." He said dismissively before leaving.
Arukenimon gave a gleeful smile as she reverted to her digimon form. Ken backed away as best he could while still tied up. "Oh I might be screwed." He stated.
Arukenimon advanced on him. "Any last words chosen of kindness?" she asked. Ken thought for a brief moment before shutting his eyes. "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray to Castiel, while you don't know me in this timeline I'm your son in an alternate, please, please come save me!" Ken prayed. "Praying won't help you child." Arukenimon laughed, she paused however at the fluttering sound of wings. Ken smirked. "Well today seems to just be full of surprises for you." He stated as the spider woman was thrown into the wall with enough force to render her unconscious. Castiel stood in the place she had previously been.
Ken smiled, as he looked up at the angel. "There's a trench coat I've missed seeing. Please never get a purple one." He said. Castiel tilted his head and gazed down at the boy curiously. "You're human? When you said son and I traced you overseas, I admit, I was expecting a nephilim." He said. Ken shook his head. I'm an orphan you adopted in an alternate timeline." He explained. Cass nodded. "I can tell, time energy flows differently around you. So how did you get here?" He asked. "Damn witch hunt gone array." Ken explained. Cass smiled softly. "Sounds about right."
Ken struggled to get out of the Angel's grip. "Suffocetur!" He shouted. Castiel couldn't help but to roll his eyes. "I'm an angel, I don't need to breathe." He stated when the spell did nothing. Ken narrowed his eyes and tried the spell again except this time he directed it at his brother. Castiel released Ken and rushed to Osamu to despell the curse.
While Castiel was distracted, Ken made quick work of cutting his hand and drawing out an angel banishing sigil on the wall.
Osamu regained his breath and looked up. "DAD! STOP HIM!" He shouted. Castiel turned just as Ken slammed his hand against the sigil activating it. Cass let out a scream as light enveloped him and he vanished. Ken smirked as the light dimmed. "I've learned a few tricks since being here." He said to seemingly no one. He looked around. "Osamu? Don't tell me you were an angel this whole time." He said. He moved to pack up and leave, knowing the banishment was temporary so he wasn't sticking around. As he lifted his bag he felt someone move behind him and wrench his arm back. "What? Damn it." Before he could think to do something a cuff was secured to his wrist. "Next time, maybe make SURE no one else is hiding in the room." Osamu said quickly cuffing his brother's other wrist. Ken rolled his eyes. "Please, have you not learned by now I can take you out easily?" He asked. Osamu smiled. "Try it." He challenged. Ken lifted his hands to send Osamu flying. However nothing happened. "Suffocetur!" Ken shouted switching to magic, since the demon blood seemed to have failed him. Osamu stood there unphased. "Wha WHAT DID YOU DO?" Ken growled. "Enchanted handcuffs." The older boy said simply. "Now where's Taichi?" Osamu asked. Ken glared at him. "Where's my digivice?" He countered with a smirk. "Seems even though you've captured me, I still have the advantage."
"We need to get to my friends, they could be trapped, hurt or worse." Ken explained as he worked quickly to pull up a gate on the laptop he snagged from the house. Castiel watched curiously. "Are you trying to find their coordinates?" He asked looking at the strange window Ken had pulled up. It looked nothing like what the Winchesters would use for locating certain proximity. Ken shook his head. "It's a gateway. I was in the digital world when I was captured. That crazy spider brought a building down on top of my friends. We need to get to them." Ken said. Castiel looked at the boy. "You are speaking of going to another world...with a computer?" He questioned. "I didn't know humans were capable of that." "They're not. Only chosen are. Kids who have devices like this." Ken pulled out his digivice to show the Angel. "If that's the case, how am I too assist you? I don't have such a device." The angel said with concern.
"But it's an emergency! We gotta get to the digiworld! They could need healing!" Ken exclaimed. "I'm sorry child, I may be a multi dimensional wavelength of celestial Intent, but I can't just enter a computer. Besides you said only a chosen can. I am no such thing." Cass explained. Ken thought for a moment. The others needed him, some could be hurt. It wasn't even a choice at the moment, beside this Cass seemed close enough to his own, they just hadn't met till now in this timeline. Ken knew it, he could trust him. "What if…" He started. "What if your vessel was a chosen child? Would that technically work?" Ken asked. Castiel narrowed his eyes. "Are you implying what I think you are?" Ken nodded. "Child I don't think you fully understand what that entails. Your body may not even be compatible." Castiel said with concern "We don't have time to worry about that, besides I trust you. You'll vacate if you think I'm gonna explode. Castiel…Yes."
Daisuke, Iori and Takeru worked to to clear the rumble. They were the only ones it seemed to have found their way out of the mess. "Man I hope the others are ok." Takeru said. "Yeah not to mention who knows what those two digimon did with Ken." Daisuke started before glancing off and noticing at that moment Ken striving towards them. "Oh thank god you got away from that creepy lady!" He exclaimed. Ken glanced at Daisuke before slightly nodding his head. Iori narrowed his eyes. This wasn't the Ken they'd come to know the last few days. His movements were stiff. Not the arrogant flaunter of the Kaiser, or the carefree relaxed steps of Ken. His face also was a serious unreadable expression. His eyes unblinking as he gazed at the group. There was, dare he think, an ethereal air about this one. "Who are we dealing with now?" He whispered. Takeru heard him and looked over. "You picked up on it too?" He asked. Iori nodded. "That's not Ken, is it?" He questioned. Wormmon ran up to his partner. "Ken?" He asked. Seeming to also sense something was… different. Ken's gaze met Wormmons. Ken squinted his eyes and tilted his head looking at the large Caterpillar, before simply stating "Not exactly." in a voice much lower than one would think the boy capable of.
