Note: Since Chamber's Dragon Form hasn't been revealed, I will still be calling her Chamber while the rest are using their names in Dragon Form.
Everything had to be just right.
On this very day, they had finally been permitted to prepare this new manor for their new lord! Oh, how happy their lady looked as it was time! They all shared in the joy! Now, there was a chance to bring the Uzumaki to prominence again!
Perhaps open a hotel so their services could be put to the utmost use…
She shook her head! There was so much that needed to be done! The clothes had to be unpacked, and the brand-new laundry had to be cleaned and sterilized. All the necessary furniture was to be unpacked and ready for use, particularly for their lady's husband and how busy work kept him! The kitchen had to be pristine, and a snack for their lady had to be prepped and a bottle ready! And their chambers must be perfect!
Their lady and her husband would be coming home with their new young lord! She would be exhausted when she returned home! She would need the utmost care, and they were prepared with Ernus on standby to help her while she took their new young lord! They would be returning very soon!
It was bizarre, though. She had thought she had felt their presence at the old manor… Why would they return there? This was their new home. One where they could help raise their new young lord…
She had been expecting them for some time. To come in a flash. But instead, the door finally opened, and she brightly smiled, hands held together as she greeted her new lord. "Welcome home, my lady. Lord Hokage…"
Her voice trailed as her eyes sharpened and her glasses slipped on the bridge of her nose. "Lord Third? Why have you come?" She pursed her lips and gazed at the solemn elderly man who entered their premise, who… Her eyes shimmered and locked onto what he held cradled to his side, a familiar scent filling her nostrils.
A scent she was all too familiar with… And an aura she despised within him.
"Why do you have our young lord with you?" She turned her sharp gaze onto the man, expecting answers as she, without hesitation, took her young lord from him, cradling him into her bosom. "And why is it inside of him?"
"It has been a long night." Hiruzen exhaled, looking wearily upon the tall woman with a long, scaly tail swishing behind her in annoyance. "I suspect you didn't feel anything with how absorbed each of you have been with this move…"
"But I must inform you of Kushina and Minato's fate on this night."
(Twelve Years Later)
"Tinkhec! Lorpar!" Sheou maintained her temper, refraining from caressing her temple in frustration. However, she clicked her tongue as she searched the manor high and low. She was slacking off… Why did she have a feeling Lorpar was up to her tricks again?
"Nudyarl! Chamber!" Sheou opened the room to their young lord's chamber, a scowl adorned on her features. She appreciated the two were on task, but given how Nudyarl squealed and dropped the basket of laundry she was carrying… She knew something. "Precisely where are they at."
"Well, um, you see…" Nudyarl nervously fidgeted, pressing her ring fingers together, eyes shifting.
"They are assisting with the young lord's hijinks," Chamber curtly bowed toward Sheou.
"Chamber!" Nudyarl hissed with hunched shoulders and grimacing as Sheou's intent became focused on her. "Young Lord wished for us not to inform Sheou. We're not supposed to betray his trust…"
"I am not an accomplice to their schemes." Chamber shook her head, turning her focus back onto swiftly cleaning the room. "They accept the risks they take when they perform them. I will not keep him out of trouble if he wishes to seek it."
"But… But… But…" Nudyarl stumbled over her words, unable to find them under the scathing gaze of Sheou.
Sheou glowered at Nudyarl for a moment longer before huffing and sliding her glasses up. She was disappointed with Nudyarl… However…
"Nudyarl is correct." Sheou crossed her arms and turned her intent to Chamber. "I may disagree with disclosing the information from me, but the young lord's trust is paramount and only second to his well-being. If you lose it, we could lose our connection forever. Our powers are already dwindling; without him, our powers may fade away… There are so few of our Lords and Ladies that remain…"
As Sheou's expression sombered and turned sullen, Chamber grimaced. Her tail flicked the ground softly behind her as she lowered her head. "Forgive me, Sheou. I had no intention of betraying our lord's trust. I simply disagreed with what they were planning to do…"
Sheou's frown deepened. Her tail swatted the floor several times as she took a deep breath. Her eyes then sharpened. "Tell me…"
"What were they planning to do?"
"Ahahaha! That was classic!" Naruto raucously roared, his belly full of laughter, carrying two buckets of paint. "I can't wait to see the old man's face! Just how mad do you think he'll be this time!"
"It was hilarious!" Lorpar smirked, her eyes sparkling in amusement. She gazed back at their work, and her grin widened. "Oh, he'll probably be seething! Your work was impeccable like always, my lord!" Her tail swished joyously behind her, hearing the sound of faint laughter next to her lord. She flashed her grin to her partner on their lord's other side. "See Tinkhec? Told ya this would be fun!"
"I must admit, it was exhilarating." Tinkhec faintly smiled, failing to hide her giggle. Yet despite her amusement at the situation, she grounded her expectation and glanced around them, scanning the immediate vicinity before turning her attention to her lord. "Don't you think this is weird? No one has come to apprehend us."
"Hey… Wait a second, you're right!" Naruto stopped walking and put his buckets of paint down. Furrowing his brow, he glowered at the tower of the Hokage Mansion. "What gives, old man? Where's the welcoming committee to proclaim my greatness?! I know you saw it! Your office faces the monument!"
"Yeah, what gives?!" Lorpar placed her hands on her hips, sharply glaring at the tower. "Hey, old man! Are you not paying attention to our lord's wonderous workmanship?! Why I should… No, no, no!"
"Lorpar?" Naruto rapidly spun toward his partner in crime. His eyes grew immensely, and he stumbled back at the sight of Lorpar and Tinkhec engulfed in a mist, and in the next instance, they were being sucked into a golden jar with a malicious dragonic face.
"I am so sorry! I know I shouldn't have!"
"Come on! Let us have fun, would ya?!"
"And let this be a lesson to both of you." Sheou sealed the jar shut. Her gaze shifted to a defensive Naruto, holding his hands up together. "Now, what to do with you? It seems my discipline hasn't been heeded. Must I resort to drastic measures?"
"Ah, Sheou! Please, no!" Naruto attempted to dissuade Sheou. His eyes physically stretched to their limits, and he saw Sheou hand the Dragon Capture Jar to Chamber, a visible shine starting to engulf her form.
Naruto knew there was no reasoning with her any longer. He bolted in the opposite direction, applying as much chakra to his legs to increase his speed. He had to run as fast as possible if he wished to escape…
And still, a black, scaly hand snatched him off the ground. The wind swirled violently around him, almost drawing his breath from his lungs. Where was she taking him?! He struggled fruitlessly as he was drawn to the snout of a giant, feminine dragon, smoke blistering out of her nostrils. He immediately stopped resisting upon seeing her face… He was in serious trouble.
"Now that I have your attention…" Sheou glowered as she set Naruto down, towering over him. His eyes snapped to where they suddenly ended, and sweat profusely dripped from his pores. Oh no…
He was back on the monument with several buckets of suds next to him, likely prepared by Nudyarl…
"I expect you to use what I have taught you to perfection."
Another snippet in the books.
While I do find myself more a Branded player, I have some of the most fun playing Dragon Maids so a snippet with them was always inevitable.
If turned into a larger story, likely a harem for this one.
Anyways, I do hope you enjoyed this snippet. If you got a moment, I always love to hear from ya.
Until next time my friends, Peace.
