A New Friend: Winter Cryolophosaurus!

(3 YEARS LATER)

After 3 years, Saura grew up into a pretty 10 year old girl. She still spent her everyday life as usual happily especially when she and her best friend Miku discovered a Secret Garden within Dino Village where she made new friends and the two Guardians who protects it, Lampla the Grass Guardian and Sleet the Wind Guardian.

During those 3 years, she discovered that she unlocked magic powers within her. She learned from Erma her caretaker/mother figure, Lampla and Sleet, when she was a baby, she's been blessed by the kingdom's guardians and goddess but nothing about who were her parents, saying that it's not the right time.

The magic powers Saura currently possesed were Rainbow Light Magic, Grass Magic and Wind Magic. She unlocked them when she did good deeds to the dinosaurs related to their elements.

The Rainbow Light Magic has the power to heal wounds, leaving no scars behind and was unlocked when she show her love and concern for her dinosaur friends. Her tutor was Erma.

The Wind Magic has the power to control the wind, creating from the softest breeze to the harsh tornados. One unique thing when she used this power, she can jump high like she's on a trampoline, almost like flying which Miku and the Pterosaurs enjoyed. She unlocked this power when she rescued Sleet's friend, Suzy, the Deinonychus, from her injury in a ravine with her healing magic, which was the good deed she's done. Sleet became her tutor, teaching how to control it.

In Sleet's tutoring, he learned that Saura possess an incredible amount of magic in her and a fast learner. However, Saura's magic were very powerful when combining with her emotions affecting her magic making it unpredictable and difficult to control if she's emotional.

So everyday, Saura has to stay natural and in no time at all, she mastered her wind power.

The Grass Magic has the power to make plants of all nature to grow faster! She unlocked this power when she assisted a troubled Therizinosaurus named Thea to help a mother Maiasaura to find a way to get her two children to eat the veggie they disliked. Lampla became her tutor and she taught her various ways how to use this power.

Lampla revealed that the dresses she made for Saura to wear came from the very nature she raised which was something no one even thought of which shocks her greatly!

In the morning, Saura and the other young children were having a morning assembly. Their caretaker, Erma Eoraptor was going to introduce a new dinosaur friend.

"Everyone, we have a new friend joining us from now on." Erma said, introducing a new dinosaur.

It's a young blue and white coloured theropod. The unique feature was that it has a crest on its head similar to the hadosaur but it's not a hadosaur. The crest's shape looks like a tiara.

"Please introduce yourself." Erma said to the dinosaur.

"Y-Yes." The dinosaur said in a shy female voice. "M-My name is... Winter. I'm a... Cryolophosaurus. N-nice to meet you..." After she finished introducing herself, she gives off a cold wind blowing at everyone's direction, making them shiver.

"Brr."

"It's cold."

"W-What is this?"

The young dinosaurs said feeling how cold they were from the cold freezing wind Winter gives off.

"Oh my, Winter. It's a little too chilly." Erma said not minding the sudden cold wind.

"Ah. I... I'm sorry. I was feeling nervous." Winter replied with a blushing face.

"Nervous?" Miku said.

"Wh... When I get excited, I lose control over my powers which my family was blessed with. It's the first time I've been outside from my hometown." Winter answered, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"Everyone, Winter came from outside of Dainason in a cold homeland to live here from now on in our kingdom. She's somewhat nervous, so don't make her upset or you might get lost in a snowstorm." Erma said.

"OK~!"

After Winter's introduction was over, the young dinosaurs went back to playing.

As for Winter, she's been taken care by Saura and Miku. Right now, all three of them were alone together where they would get acquainted while the others play or busy doing something.

"My name is Miku. I'm a Microraptor."

"As for me... My name is Saura. Unlike the others, I'm a human."

"N-nice to meet you. Um... It's my first time seeing dinosaurs of many species and a human... I hope we can get along." Winter said with a small smile.

"Of course. Our kingdom, Dainason is a beautiful world... But right now, it's not safe outside because of Zombiesaurs." Saura said.

"Z-Zombiesaurs...?"

"That's right. Lady Erma said they're deadly and dangerous beings that only kills. They're different from us living beings." Miku said as he makes a scary impression of the Zombiesaur.

"H-how scary~!" Winter, feeling scared, unleashed her freezing winds of snow making the land covered in white!

Saura and Miku were covered in white snow.

"Miku... I think you've made Winter upset." Saura told Miku, now looking like a white snowball.

"Oops, my bad." He shake the snow off from his black feather.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I still don't have full control of my power." Winter cried.

"It's alright." Saura assured. "But, it's my first time seeing this white stuff. What do you call this?"

"It's called 'Snow'. It's really cold when touched, but when put in hot place, they turn into water."

"Really?" Saura grab a handful of snow and lift it in the air under the sun. After a minute or so, the snow melted and became water just like Winter described it. "Wow, it really does turn into water! How interesting!"

"It does!" Miku agree.

"About earlier... I'm sorry about my power suddenly. I'm still learning how to control it." Winter once again apologize.

"Don't feel bad, Winter. As a matter of fact, I too have powers of my own."

"Really? You do?" Winter look very surprised. She heard from her family that only some dinosaurs who possessed powers corresponding to their element. But not from human. It's a first.

"Yes. I'm not even sure why do I even have them when I'm human unlike dinosaurs... But, would you like see it? What type of powers I have?"

"Saura's powers are amazing, you know!" Miku said.

"OK..." Winter nod.

"Alright then. But first, let's get rid of this snow first."

Saura stand up and raise both hands. She made a twirling movement, summoning winds in tornado medium size, absorbing the soft snow and then flying them high in the air until it reach the sun, melting them into water.

After the snow melts into water, it fell down like soft raindrops.

Winter and Miku look amazed by Saura's magic power of wind performance.

"Amazing!"

"Yeah!"

"Hehe~ Thank you. Thank goodness that I practiced every day." Saura giggle.

Winter seeing how calm and graceful Saura did with her wind magic, she made a decision.

"Saura... Please teach me!" Winter bow, surprising Saura and Miku.

"Winter...?"

"Teach me how to control my power the way you did just now!"

"Eh?!"

"Please, I'll work hard! I promise!" Winter beg.

Saura look at Miku for help, unsure what to do.

"Why not, Saura? This will be interesting. Besides, you said yourself, 'All dinosaurs are friends', right?" Miku told Saura.

"That's true. Hmm, I would also like to get to know more about Winter and about her home outside of Dainason... Alright then! I accept!"

"Really?!"

"Of course, I'll teach you. I would love to get to know you more too." Saura place her hand out and embrace Winter's small claws. "Do your best!"

"Yes! Thank you!" Feeling emotional, Winter accidentally cause her snow power to act up again.

"First thing first. Keep your emotions in check."

Before Saura can teach Winter how to control her power, she has to learn about Winter's full introduction about her life first.

So, Winter told Saura and Miku that she came from a place not quite far of Dainason Kingdom... The Northern Land, home to Winter's dinosaur family, Cryolophosaurus and some Troodons. Her home was covered by snow and ice. The night lasts longer than in the day which Winter points out that it's the first time she saw the sun that lasts half a day the moment she arrived to Dainason.

As for why Winter's powers are snow and ice element, the Northern Land's dinosaurs were blessed by one of the Guardian of Dainason, The Guardian of Water, Lazula.

The Guardian of Water, Lazula protects and rule the natural element of water. She travels to wherever the water flows and she was the one who discovered something new within her power over water... and that's to freeze water turning into ice!

Unfortunately however, her water dinosaur friends, the Spinosaurids and Sauropods didn't like the ice because it's cold and not to mention they couldn't drink or swim in it... Until she come across some new dinosaurs in the Northern Land, the Cryolophosaurus and Troodons of the Northern side!

The Troodons of the Northern Land and the ones in Dainason are related except they have different appearances. The ones in Winter's homeland have lots of feathers all over their bodies to keep them warm.

As for the Cryolophosaurus, they lived in the Northern Land because they like to live their life quietly and they didn't mind the cold at all. Because of this, Lazula blessed them by granting them the variation of water to them; the power of ice and snow.

"Wow... How interesting! So that's how it happened!" Saura awed.

"But, why did you decided to come to Dainason alone by yourself?" Miku asked.

"Well, you saw what happened before, right? I came here because I need help controlling my power. My father told me to come to Dainason Kingdom's Dino Village for younger ones and that's why I came here. Winter answered.

"I see now." Saura nod in understanding.

"That's why when I saw you, Saura, what you did back there with your wind magic with ease, I was inspired! Please, teach me!" Winter bow her head.

"Alright Winter. Please raise your head." Saura said feeling a bit nervous to see the female Cryolophosaurus bow her head so low. "Shall we get started?"

"Yes, Teacher!"

(AT SECRET GARDEN)

Winter's power controlling lesson... STARTING NOW!

Saura gathered a few basic books borrowed from Sleet's library as she, Miku and Winter were alone together in her Secret Garden where nobody would disturb them.

Gathering from Saura's experience from being taught by Erma, Sleet and Lampla when she unlocked her 3 powers, she did her best to recall what her tutors taught her about how to use her 3 powers.

First, Saura will teach Winter the basics and calming her emotions.

Saura and Miku show Winter the textbook about basic elements and about the dinosaurs possessing element magic power according to their characteristics.

Large theropods like in the T-Rex family possessed the element of fire.

Some sauropods and theropods that can swim like in the Spinosaurids possessed the element of water.

Medium-sized theropods and raptors possessed the element of wind which reflect their fast running speed.

Both Ankylosaurids and Stegosaurids possessed the element of earth because of their tails and bodies which are their toughest and sharpest in strength.

Hadrosaurs who have unique crests on their heads and some other herbivore dinosaurs possessed the element of grass.

Ceratopsian dinosaurs who have horns, possessed the element of lightning.

Humans who were royalty or have magic in their veins all born with magic. Those humans that have the ability to communicate with dinosaurs are proof as their first magic. There's a case that commoner humans that possess magic are rare. As for obtaining basic element magic, they receive it either as a blessing after birth or performing a good deed when in the presence of a Guardian.

In Saura's case, she's born a human but does not know she's born royalty or commoner parents since she's left in Erma Eoraptor's care in Dino Village since she's just a baby. She heard from Erma that there's once a royal family that ruled Dainason kingdom but for some reason all the memories about them were gone and nobody knows what happened to them...except for the barrier that's been casted by someone to protect them from the deadly monsters known as Zombiesaurs.

"The basic elements in Dainason Kingdom are Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Grass, Lightning and Light." Miku point using his wings on each symbol in the book as Saura teaches. "The first six are the normal elements while Light element is a rare and powerful element."

"Um... I have a question." Winter raise her tail.

"Yes."

"My element power is ice... So... Is it possible it'd be a new element?"

"Hmm, from what you've told me and from before... Ice is a variation of water. Water turns into ice when it gets cold and when ice is put under warm area, they melt back to water. So... I don't think it's a new element at all." Saura explained while feeling nervous.

"Eh?! Is that true?! Oh no! I'm so embarrassed!" Winter cried in shock, and unintentionally let out a cold blizzard again, covering in snow.

WOOSH

"W-Winter?" Saura said, shaking off the snow.

"Please calm down! You're doing it again!" Miku said while covered in thick snow with an annoying look on his face.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Winter apologized.

"Um... How about we take a break?"

Saura used her wind magic on the snow exactly like before and went off to get some of her handmade sweets.

"Here you go. My handmade cookies!"

"Yay, Saura's cookies~!" Miku said happily as he take one and eats it.

"Please try one, Winter. They're really good." Saura insist as she place a cookie on her open palm.

"Umm... OK..." Winter sniff it then using her tongue, it grab the cookie and into her mouth, chewing it. Her eyes watered and tears appear. "It's... Delicious!"

Winter never tasted something so good in her life, being a carnivore. Feeling so happy, she didn't realized that she let out another blizzard.

WOOSH

"This is going to take some time... Ahaha~"

(AT ZONGAZONGA'S CASTLE)

Meanwhile, outside of an area with dead trees and the aura of darkness, stood the Lavender Witch, Zinnia.

During the 3 years together with the Velociraptor servants, they were still working on eleminating Zinnia's evil cousin, Zongazonga's creations, the Zombiesaurs. The good news was that they're almost done with the Raptor Zombiesaurs part... Except there's something important that Zinnia needs to check on.

Zinnia, the Lavender Witch calm her breath as she enters her deceased evil cousin's lair.

Zongazonga's place has his own castle made with magic, being a sorcerer of all. His castle was filled with dark aura and all the negative feeling he puts in from Zinnia's point of view.

"Zongazonga really puts his name as a Dark Sorcerer to a T from all this darkness as expected." Zinnia commented.

Being an experienced and powerful witch, Zinnia wasn't scared at all as she explores the dark castle.

"Now then, if I were Zongazonga... Where would I go to do research on dark magic?... Of course! Underground!"

As a good witch, Zinnia's workshop would be in the Dainason Castle's top tower where light would shine which also connects to her bedroom.

After some thorough searching, she found an underground stairway!

"If I go down there, maybe there's some of his leftover research about Zongazonga's Zombiesaurs."

Walking down the stairs in a spiral carefully with her wand lighting up a light, she reach a wooden door.

Before opening it, Zinnia checked if there's any sound behind it. Waiting for a couple of seconds, there's no sound to be heard...which means it's safe.

CREAK

Inside through the door, she entered her evil cousin's workshop room.

There's some long tables with equipments, papers about his research and some books about dark magic. There's a lot of empty cages where he kept his Zombiesaurs before he released them, from the looks of it from the drool and footprints.

The familiar footprints from multiple cages belongs to the Raptor Zombiesaurs while 4 of the cages have different footprints belong to a theropod, a ceratopsian, a pterosaur and one that looks like a flipper.

"So this is Zongazonga's workshop room. There's so many books about dark magic... And his research about the Zombiesaurs!" Zinnia survey around the room.

While inspecting the information about the Zombiesaurs, she found something else hidden between two books. It looks like a list.

"Let's see..."

1. Using dark magic to revive the dead.

2. Kidnap the princess.

3. Defeat Zinnia.

4. Take over the Dainason Kingdom.

"Ah?! This is his to-do list...!" Zinnia exclaimed when she read the paper. "He really was serious about it. But... That's no longer a threat because in the end, the princess is safe at Dino Village and he's dead in my hands! He lied to me about everything in the past! I'm going to set things right again... For everybody in Dainason!"

As Dainason's greatest royal magician and witch, Zinnia promised Queen Saffira that she'll protect her within the castle until her daughter, the princess' return to set the Kingdom back to its former glory.

"I should head back to the castle now. I've seen what I needed to see and now I know he did release those main 4... I have to let the others know this."

With that, Zinnia used her magic to teleport back to the castle and report back to the Velociraptor servants.

Somewhere else, loud stomping dino footsteps sound echoes.

"Geez, those male theropods!!!" A female voice said in an angry tone.

She's a large theropod which comes from part of the T-Rex group. She looks young around junior teenage. Her color is greyish-black, black spots with white outline from the face all the way to the tail. Lastly, her eyes are light purple.

She's a Megalosaurus!

"Just because I'm a female, doesn't mean I'm weak! Not to mention they had the nerves to not including me in singing! What's wrong with that?! I love to sing!" The young female Megalosaurus vent her frustration while trying to not cry or let out any tears.

While she's lost in her thoughts, she didn't sense that something attacked her on her back from nowhere! A large purple theropod, a T-Rex Zombiesaur!

ROAR

The female Megalosaurus roar in pain. To her feeling the pain from behind now, she quickly act fast and activate her fire magic by covering her body on fire which including affecting T-Rex Zombiesaur inside its mouth.

The T-Rex Zombiesaur release its grip on the female Megalosaurus' back and gasp as it let out a hot breath of blood flowing.

She pant at the pain from her back and face her enemy. "Who are you?!"

The T-Rex Zombiesaur didn't answer, since it can't talk, being an undead. It counterattack her with an open jaw.

"I don't like this... I have a bad feeling about this but..." She prepare herself by summoning a fire blast attack to stun it in place and then using her tail, she slap it hard on the ground to push herself straight up as she gives off a red aura and aim her eyes at the enemy.

She then control her fire magic like she's controlling how to move it around, as it binds the T-Rex Zombiesaur like chains and sends it flying as far as her strength would carry.

"That's payback!"

As she watch the T-Rex Zombiesaur sent flying, her back pain returns and she drop to the ground.

"Ugh! I guess I used too much of my magic. I should get home... And ugh!" When she tried to stand up and walk back to her home, she fall down again feeling weak from the attack earlier as blood drips from her back.

"Am I... going to die...? No...! I don't want that! There're many things I wanted to do...! Please... Somebody help me...!"

As the female Megalosaurus lay on the ground thinking she'll die, the land suddenly filled in white cold snow and blizzard blowing.

"W-What is this...?"

In this chapter, Saura and Miku made a new friend, Winter the Cryolophosaurus. Just like from the preview chapter from Dinosaur Family's new chapter 13... To those if read it.

Here you'll find out more info about the main elements and how both human and dinosaur of Dainason Kingdom possess magic powers. In this time, Secret Element was referred to as Light Element, like what Cera said when she discussed it with the D Team in Dinosaur Queen.

You see what happens to the 4 main Zombiesaurs that Zongazonga created. I made one of them appear, Z-Rex for a while. I did my best to show a battle scene. Hope it's acceptable.

There will be some humans appear besides Saura and others. As to how Saura could bake cake without technology, you could refer to some fairy tale or fantasy stories where they used old methods and magic to make their foods.

No, the concept of Jurassic, Triassic and Cretaceous don't apply here in Dainason.

Maybe... But as to point about the Secret Dinosaurs' corresponding element, except for Cryolophosaurus and Therizinosaurus, the remaining one follows the exact normal element of their characteristics. Cryolophosaurus' ice power is a variation of water so it's the guardian of water while Therizinosaurus is a Herbivore despite almost related to a theropod so it's the guardian of grass since there's no Secret Grass Dinosaurs.

Also I won't include Brontosaurus in because it's a Secret Dinosaur used by a main antagonist.
