Owen and Teddy laid in bed. He had her tank top pushed up and was caressing her bump. They had made it to 26 weeks. Her anxiety had lowered once they hit viability at 24 weeks but now the third trimester felt like the safe zone. They still had a couple weeks to go for that. She noticed that she was gaining weight more quickly this time but it didn't seem to bother Owen as much as she noticed it. At home he struggled to keep his hands to himself. He would hug her from behind and rest his hands on her bump while she made dinner. He had even stopped by her office to give her a kiss and say hi to the baby. She sighed contentedly as she snuggled into him. He kissed the top of her head.
"I love you," she whispered.
"I love you more," he smiled.
"Did you sleep," he asked, "you got up a few times."
"Bean was on my bladder," she replied, "I slept okay. I could use more but the kids will be up soon."
"Big kick," he smiled, feeling the baby move.
"Love birds," Megan called from the hallway at their closed door, "your kids are up."
"I'm coming," Teddy replied.
Megan and Faroke were staying with them while she found a new place and settled into her new job, the kids loved having auntie Megan around. While Megan and Nathan were trying again they had decided to take it slow this time and build a firm foundation which included not living in the same house for a while and to really date.
"Wow Teddy," Megan smiled when Teddy came into the hallway smoothing the fitted tank top over her bump.
"You've seen me pregnant before," Teddy replied.
"You usually hide it better," Megan said.
"Clothes vs pjs," Teddy replied.
"How many weeks now," Megan asked.
"26," Teddy answered, "she's doing well."
"Good morning baby," Megan smiled, putting her hand on Teddys bump.
"Mom," Leo called running to Teddy.
"Good morning," Teddy smiled, returning his hug, "are you ready for breakfast? It's Saturday so I can make pancakes."
"And bacon," Leo asked.
"And blueberries," Teddy smiled, "do you want to help me?"
"Can I flip," Leo asked.
"You can," Teddy promised, "I'm going to grab a sweater. Can you meet me in the kitchen?"
"Teddy," Megan asked.
"I like cooking with him, he likes being in the kitchen with me," Teddy smiled, "he'll stand up on the tower thing and help me."
"With the baby," Megan asked.
"She's safe now and I'll figure out cooking with a baby in a wrap or carrier," Teddy smiled, "I wore Allison a lot and so did Owen. We tag teamed Leo and Allison or cooking when she was a baby and they both couldn't be out of sight for a moment."
"Three will be a lot," Megan commented.
"It might be but we've always wanted a big family," Teddy smiled, "your house hunting today?"
"Apartment I think," Megan replied, "get something nice. Two bed two bath. It's just Faroke and I. I'd like some amenities."
"Like," Teddy asked.
"A pool and gym," Megan replied. Teddy grabbed her sweater off the top of the dryer on her way downstairs.
"You're sure you're okay," Megan asked.
"I'm feeling good," Teddy smiled, "Seattle is okay with you?"
"I wouldn't move here if it wasn't," Megan replied, "I chose for me and Faroke. We'll find a place and settle in. I'm excited about the work and finally choosing my own scrub cap."
"Have you picked one," Teddy asked.
"I have," Megan replied, "starfish and sandcastles to keep my connection to the beach and I'm not selling my place in LA. I've rented it out for a year. I'm going to rent here for the year of my initial contract and then decide. I want to be home and near mom and your family."
"I had to do the year contract to start it's a Fox Foundation thing," Teddy replied, "I wanted to do a standard 5 year right away."
"That's okay Teddy," Megan replied as they walked into the kitchen.
"Wow boys," Teddy smiled, seeing that Leo and Faroke had everything out to make pancakes and that Faroke was laying bacon out on the griddle.
"We're hungry," Faroke laughed, "Leo is a hungry, hungry, hippo."
"Raww," Leo yelled before miming eating Faroke.
"Faroke can you do the bacon and Leo and I can do the pancakes," Teddy suggested.
"Yes auntie," Faroke replied.
"I'm going to start cutting up some fruit," Megan said looking at the fruit containers in the fridge.
"Please," Teddy replied.
"Berries, mango, pineapple and watermelon," Megan suggested, "it'll last us a couple days as snacks."
"That's helpful," Teddy smiled. She liked these mornings at home with her family, away from the pressures of the hospital, just being content with her kids.
Allison wandered around hugging peoples legs until Owen picked her up.
"What are we doing today," Owen asked.
"Faroke and I are looking at apartments," Megan replied.
"Swimming lessons then Pru's birthday party," Teddy replied, "it's sunflower themed. Miranda is excited."
"We both go," Owen asked.
"We do," Teddy replied, "I told Miranda I would help with seed planting and flower pot painting."
"Our birthday parties weren't that elaborate," Megan said.
"Miranda likes it," Teddy shrugged.
"We did when we were younger but at Farokes age it was pizza, cake and movies," Owen said.
"We're baby sitting tonight after the birthday party," Megan confirmed, "let you two go out for a date."
"That would be nice," Teddy agreed.
"Make sure you get a couple in before baby girl arrives," Megan smiled.
"Danielle," Owen said, "14 weeks left."
"Lots of time," Teddy smiled, "time for me to get very very round. And this time you have to put up with me."
"Baby," Allison smiled.
"Soon," Teddy promised, "you'll be a big sister."
"I'm hungry," Allison whined.
"Hi hungry I'm dad," Owen chuckled, making Faroke roll his eyes.
They finished making breakfast and sat down to enjoy it before the busy day.
