"Why didn't you say anything?" Lumen wondered.
"Because I didn't want to bother you." Kira sighed.
"We aren't like those humans you were staying with before. Kira, you know we believe you and you don't have to worry about us geting into trouble, right?" Lumen notified.
"You know, if you try addressing the event in another way, maybe you could stop it from happening that way." Gunvolt advised.
"I tried that. One time I thought about a book I wanted, then I had a dream about it. And the next thing you know, somebody was talking about it. On the way back from getting it I saw a poster for it at the bookstore." Kira ranted.
"What book was it?" Gunvolt inqueried.
"Starflight." Kira answered.
"It almost seems like the universe is telling you to do something." Lumen noticed.
"I got all the books in the series, even the side stories." Kira added.
"Do you want some breakfast? I made some chocolate chip pancakes." Lumen offered.
"Yes please!" Kira cheered.
"Asimov said he was coming over but he needs to gather some info first." Gunvolt informed.
"Everyone, mad." Moebius warned.
"Are they mad at me?" Kira worried.
Moebius shook his head.
"Are they mad at what's going to happen tonight?" Kira guessed.
Moebius nodded.
"Thank goodness they're still willing to converse with me." Kira muttered to herself.
Lumen placed a pancake in front of Kira, causing the girl to become happy. When she went to pick up her plate, Kira noticed Gunvolt bring it over to the sink near Lumen. Regadless, Kira got up and walked over.
"Is it okay that when all this is over, I'm going to find a quiet place to have a mental breakdown?" Kira whispered.
"There's no need for you to panic." Gunvolt reminded.
"He's right, gaining that position may give you the opportunity of getting back at Apollo." Asimov noted.
"She's not stupid, she's also not going anywhere near him of her own free will. Especially not while she's as sick as Stratos." Lumen retorted.
"If I took everything at face value when I first met Zonda and she smiled at me I would've thought she was a nice person." Kira remarked.
Kira turned and gave Asimov a questioning look.
"Is today your day because it sure isn't mine." Kira commented.
"I don't think today is anyone's day." Asimov doubted.
"I mean really though, the day belongs to no one, we're all on borrowed time. Like that one movie were time is used as currency." Kira droned.
"That didn't make any sense." Gunvolt denied.
"I am under no obligation to make sense to you." Kira teased.
"I was going to ask you if yams would be okay for dinner. But I think maybe peas would be a better idea." Lumen supposed.
"No, I want yams please! I think the reason why hospitals only serve soft food is so that if someone throws it out the window then nobody gets hurt." Kira responded.
"How's your day been so far?" Gunvolt questioned.
"If this is the afterlife it's pretty disappointing." Kira muttered.
"While you're awake, I wanted to wish you good luck for tonight." Asimov notified.
"Thanks, but I don't need it." Kira stated.
"How so?" Asimov pondered.
"Because I don't have any." Kira replied.
"There's no need to be sad Kirin. you can make life anything you want it to be." Lumen informed.
"Do you think I wanted my life to be like this?" Kira snarled.
"That reminds me. Hey Kira, do you want to watch the two thousand five war of the planets movie?" Gunvolt asked.
"Sure, but I've seen scarier." Kira smirked.
"You've done scarier too." Asimov reminded.
"Anybody want to hear a fun fact?" Kira hoped.
"Sure." Lumen agreed.
"Get this, you make ten meals, you're not a cook. You make twenty paintings, you're not an artist. But you kill one person-!" But Gunvolt covered Kira's mouth before the girl could scare Lumen.
"Has she given you any other trouble today?" Asimov inqueried.
"I'm two shakes and a stern glare away from falling apart." Kira squeaked.
"Hey Asimov, remember how I thought that chip in my collarbone was to keep me physically incapable of leaving without permission or supervision?" Kira reminded.
"What about it?" Asimov pondered.
"Please pretend I said someting smart instead." Kira begged.
"Speaking of smart, mixing your attacks was very impressive." Asimov complimented.
"He sure has an itchy trigger finger when it comes to me." Kira grumbled.
"It appears Copen does as well." Asimov confirmed.
"That punk is always the source of every problem." Kira fussed.
"I never did understand the purpose of embracing your troubles." Lumen stated.
"If that was it then I'd give Copen a hug." Kira mocked.
"And stab him in the back." Lumen added.
"I'd have no ill intent. Well, maybe a little." Kira admitted.
"I don't know how you're handling all of this so well." Lumen wondered as she picked up Kira.
"She isn't." Asimov denied.
"Myself is just about all I can handle." Kira confessed.
"Like how you say you can handle me leaving for so long since you're used to it?" Gunvolt remembered.
"You may not know this but you are a terrible liar." Kira hissed.
"Why is it that you can't use the Astral Order attack but you can use the Octis Veto one?" Gunvolt queried.
"If I use either of those abilities then Zed will definitely know that I'm fused with Moebius." Kira warned.
"How does that even work? I mean, he already knows that you and Moebius are fused right?" Gunvolt noticed.
"Attack, used." Moebius added.
"Astral Order?" Kira assumed.
Moebius nodded.
"Actually, scratch that. I did use the Astral Order attack in a fight against him before." Kira admitted.
"Does it stress you out when you know you fought him?" Gunvolt wondered.
Kira shook her head.
"No, but what stressed me out was that woman. One time she said to strive for perfection but you can never be perfect. She said both of those, in the same sentence. She basically said a double negative. Which, last time I checked, was a big no no in English grammar. And they stressed me out so much. If stress could kill, they would both be guilty of first degree murder. I wouldn't have been surprised if they were the reason I died." Kira stated.
"It's strange though that he knows, considering everything that's happened here seems alternate from the game." Gunvolt supposed.
"Yeah, but avoiding using those attacks is just an extra measure. I use them only when I'm down to my final chance. Avoiding its use is kind of like using camouflage eve though the enemy already knows you're nearby." Kira answered.
"So you don't use the ability so he thinks Moebius went somewhere else." Gunvolt realized.
"He still won't leave me alone. I just don't get it. He thinks I'm a communiction medium for Moebius." Kira snarled.
"Like, to talk to?" Gunvolt theorized.
"Yeah, but Moebius only talks to me. And the only medium I'm used for is future ideas, literally. Otherwise we just talk to pass the time, check on each other, cheer ourselves up and have fun." Kira commented.
"I called the doctor's office and they're getting us steroids. In the meantime, I have some liquid medicine left." Lumen notified.
"Please don't let it be azithromycin." Kira whispered.
"I guess it was a good idea to buy that four pack of blue shot glasses. Even though we never have or will use them for their designated purpose." Gunvolt remarked.
"So, would this technically count as getting a shot? Should I get some rubbing alcohol and brace for impact?" Kira wondered.
"There's no need for the alcohol. But you should prepare to be disguisted." Gunvolt warned.
"Like, having to deal with Viper or getting a vertigo episode from Zonda's antics?" Kira inqueried.
"Like looking at one of the Stratacombs corpses." Gunvolt answered.
"You do realize that if Kira gets scared enough, she could do the same amount of damage without so much as a single forethought? And the only reason Kira would be scared of one of those corpses is because of who they were before they died." Asimov cautioned.
"I'm scared of them after they die too. The pain from the bites is not something I'd enjoy. And they do look rather menacing. I don't wanna take this, it looks scary too." Kira rebuked as Lumen put four shot glasses filled with medicine on the living room table.
"It's either this or Apollo wins, your call." Asimov stated before downing his glass.
Asimov knew he hit a nerve. Kira hated Dr. Kamizono as much as he did, if not more. So helping him win felt like an unforgivable crime in her mind. But, Kira still didn't touch her dose.
"I'd better take her to the bathroom to do this. I'll be right back." Lumen supposed.
Lumen took both Kira and the girl's medicine glass to the restroom.
"Why don't you want to take it?" Lumen interrogated.
"Those humans, the woman made me take medicine. It never tasted good. And I don't like having things shoved at me. It feels similar to Sumeragi. How they shove their ideals and beliefs at you. And all the lies they make you swallow. That stuff tastes nasty too! GV said it tastes like liquid vapor rub." Kira protested.
"I'll go talk to him. But that stuff had better be gone by the time I get back." Lumen notified.
Then, Kira was left to her own devices and plots. She had no intent on the drinking the liquid, let alone putting it in her mouth. Luckily, she remembered the orange drink in her bedroom. So, she scuttled past the living room, only to be caught by Lumen.
"What are you doing over there?" Lumen questioned.
"Just grabbing a drink, that medicine tastes like a peppermint died in it or something." Kira lied.
Luckily, Lumen fell for it.
"I don't like it either, but you won't have to take it anymore." Lumen notified.
"Well no worries, just going drown my sorrows in soda." Kira fibbed.
She ran off with her drink. Kira poured the rest of the soda into the sink after the medicine. Nobody caught her.
"I guess there's no experimentation tonight since I'm sick, right Moebius?" Kira smiled.
Moebius shook his head.
"You can't be serious. Well, I know you are. But, would the higher ups allow me to call in sick?" Kira wondered.
Moebius nodded.
"Still, wouldn't S-FIT and Apollo be under their jurisdiction? Therefore including experimentation as part of my scheduled work time?" Kira questioned.
Moebius nodded again.
"I knew some facilities were outside of Nova's jurisdiction such as that one. But I didn't think S-FIT was outside the executives control. I hope Corvette isn't a jerk. Is he?" Kira inqueried.
Moebius shook his head.
"That's a relief. So, which of Lumen's original songs is your favorite?" Kira pondered.
"I can't really say. But I can list them all." Gunvolt notified.
"G... GV!? You were listening!?" Kira shrieked.
Kira grabbed Moebius and slightly curled up. She had her neck craned, creating a wavy brown curtain of hair.
"I-I'm sorry, I thought you knew I was here." Gunvolt apologized.
That's when Kira got a flashback. She was walking throug a hall in S-FIT when she saw an IV pole without any drip bags or lines attached. Kira grabbed the pole and held it diagonally. The top of the pole was on the right while the left side had the wheels near Kira's left foot. Because of this, Kira was completely blind to the fat that she managed to generate a small yellow sword made of lightning. Its handle was half a foot long with a 7 inch guard and a foot long blade.
"Uh, Kira, why do you have a sword?" Gunvolt worried.
"Sorry, had a little flashback incident." Kira replied.
"Do you know about Copen?" Gunvolt queried.
"How could I not? The guy shot me." Kira remrked.
"Really? I thought it was just Apollo." Gunvolt doubted.
"Nope, both of them have taken shots at me, both ways too." Kira corrected.
"Is it bad if I could see that happening?" Gunvolt commented.
Kira shook her head.
"We can't let one know that the other's alive though. If one little detail were to slip through the cracks, we'd all be in trouble." Kira warned.
"I still don't get how you managed to get yourself tossed in the middle of this battlefield." Gunvolt joked.
"It wasn't purposeful. Moebius and I can't control what happens. All we can do is roll with it. No matter how they be hatin'." Kira stated.
"You shouldn't be old enough to know that song." Gunvolt rebuked.
"Hey, if I'm old enough to be fully employed by Sumeragi and QUILL, then I'm more than qualified to know that song." Kira laughed.
That's when Kira had another flashback. She was at Sumeragi's Building 1. Near the same machine Lumen was contained in before it was Kira's turn. Kira -somehow even unknown to herself- got a hammer and a can of gasoline. She took it and proceeded to decimate the instrument of destruction. While doing so, Kira shared some words with the device.
"It's not your fault this happened, it's his. But still, we can't let him or anybody in Sumeragi use us like tools. If we don't function like we're supposed to according to their standards. If we break even, we get tossed out and replaced.
That's how the world works. Everybody in the world is treated that way. No one in the world is treated fair but the world is fair in how it treats everyone. This false reality fo theirs is about to come crashing down." Kira lectured as she put the hammer down.
It fell from her hands as she grabbed the 5-gallon container of gasoline and poured it over the equipment. After using an Angry Bomb, the device was set alight. Once this was done, Kira heard an alarm echoing in the distance. She was freed from the illusionary reality by Gunvolt getnly shaking her shoulders.
"Kira, do you need to go lie down?" Gunvolt queried.
"No, I'm fine for right now." Kira assured.
"How many flashbacks have you had since you've been here?" Gunvolt asked.
"I don't know. I lost count after the one about me getting that promotion tonight." Kira informed.
"There's some things I wanted to ask you. Does Elise know about him?" Gunvolt questioned while looking at Moebius.
"Yeah, he enjoys her company just as much as I do. She really likes him too." Kira confirmed.
"Neither you nor him knows his true origin? Just that he's been fused with you?' Gunvolt wondered.
Kira nodded.
"i was born two days before him. We were inseperable from day one." Kira smiled.
"I had no idea you had that. It almost seems like your bond is even stronger than Copen and Mytyl's in game." Gunvolt commented.
"I have no idea about it. I'll let Moebius be the judge of that." Kira smiled.
"GV, where are you!?" Lumen yelled.
Gunvolt left the bathroom with Kira and Moebius in tow.
"We still don't know what Copen's planning. All that's been confirmed is that he wants to kill Kira." Asimov explained.
"We don't know what's in the confounded thing!" Kira remarked while pointing to her head.
"I still don't understand how you get into fights with boys more than girls." Lumen remembered.
"If Nova thinks he can run me because of how long he's been with Sumeragi doesn't mean it'll stop me from running him into the ground." Kira warned.
Kira turned to look at Moebius.
"The bond we have going is strong than any bond Copen and Mytyl could ever have huh Moebius?" Kira gushed.
Moebius nodded.
"No matter how true it is, don't let Copen hear you say it. He may take it as a challenge." Asimov advised.
Moebius shook his head.
"In ASG two, Tenjian's copy told Copen and GV that Zonda was his sister. he didn't take what Tenjian said as a challenge, Copen just found it offensive." Kira corrected.
"How much more do you know that you're not telling us?" Lumen pondered.
"Uh, about what exactly?" Kira asked.
"I feel like you're hiding things about the future from us so we won't be mad at you." Lumen guessed.
"I'm going to be taking an extra long nap tonight. And by that I mean I'll be sleeping." Kira stated.
"It's not like we can get Kira close enough to Copen without him trying to shoot her first." Gunvolt reminded.
"If I shot him in the brain he won't be able to think twice. Let alone once. Not like he even uses it anyway." Kira retorted.
"Speaking of Copen, has anything Apollo said involved Copen?" Asimov wondered.
"I'm about ready to show his soul the exit to his body." Kira growled.
"He really makes you that mad?" Lumen pondered.
"I'd smack him so hard I'd put the WWE out of business." Kira seethed.
"I'm pretty sure if you tried that then you'd be in a world of hurt." Gunvolt cautioned.
