"That must've been from a needle." Asimov assumed.
"I also wanted to ask. One night I had a dream that I had my back against a wall. I turned my view to see a Sumeragi soldier in yellow and a scope magnified my left eye's vision. I had my right one shut at the time. There was some weapon auto firing that I was holding the ftront in my left hand. The soldier was taken down with a single shot. Did that actually happen?" Kira wondered.
"I'm surprised you remember that. You have really good aim. It was a good decision to have you practice and train." Asimov elaborated.
"What about the dream I had where I accidentally ran into two medical staff members while I was trying to leave a hospital?" Kira pondered.
"Didn't happen." Asimov corrected.
"How about the time I saw someone with a gas mask on and cut the tube?" Kira theorized.
"That never happened." Asimov rebuked.
"What about whe a gas mask was placed on my face and I used two Grand Strizers to startle anyone nearby before burining a hole in the mask with my Angered Explosion Septima?" Kira theorized.
"We can go over that later. Right now we need to-" But Asimov was cut off by Gunvolt.
"We need to go over these, for her sake." Gunvolt rebuked as he moved to sit with Kira on her bed.
"Continue." Asimov requeted with a sigh.
"What about the one where someone was taking my blood and it was hurting while I could feel my veins constrict?" Kira guessed.
"That one was definitely real." Asimov guaranteed.
"I'm so confused." Kira groaned.
"What about?" Gunvolt pondered.
"So, get this. EP is an acronym for electric psycho energy. And I have the Psychokinesis Septima. The Azure Striker can manipulate electrons. Psychokinesis can manipulate matter. So, let me ask you this. Would the Psychokinesis Septima count as an electric type or would we have to make a list of atom manipulting Septimas?" Kira droned.
"Both Septimas do create energy." Lumen remembered.
"Didn't you go to Firmament last night, GV?" Asimov asked.
"Yeah, the view is amazing." Gunvolt answered.
"How did you lose Kirin last night?" Asimov wondered.
"Nova forced her to fuse with him again." Gunvolt elucidated.
"I thought that wasn't going to happen twice." Lumen stated.
"That's why I had the feeling of phantom limbs last night and this morning." Kira realized.
"Why didn't you say something!?" Lumen fumed.
"Because I didn't want to bother anybody over a hypothetical." Kira muttered as she shyly looked at the floor.
Gunvolt leaned forward and pat Kira on the head.
"I don't need any pity pats. I'll take him down myself." Kira ranted.
"Is there any other dreams you had that concerned you?' Lumen questioned.
"I was in a hall at S-FIT. There was no light in there but I could kind of see. The main hall had one hall entrance on the left and another on the right. The right hall was two yards away and the one on the left was five feet away. I didn't see anything else." Kira notified.
"That one occured as well." Asimov stated.
'I'll just go talk to Moebius about them. I don't want to bother you with this seemingly nonsensical banter." Kira remarked s she ended the call and gave GV the phone. He left and Kira sat there on her bed with said other Primal Dragon.
"How do you know all of this stuff? Were you awake while I was asleep during all those flashbacks?" Kira asked.
Moebius nodded.
"I'm glad you're not scared of Dr. Kamizono. If so, that'd make two of us and bad news." Kira smiled.
"Fearful, Zed." Moebius informed.
"So, you're just scared of Zed?" Kira worried.
Moebius nodded again.
"I just had to ask if you were scared of anybody. I always say that I'm gonna keep my mouth shut but I don't. Same goes for my thoughts, writing, dreaming and apprently aren't dreams and any discussions I have." Kira complained.
Kira blinked and felt different, she felt whole. She looked and Moebius was gone, so was her transformation. Kira turned her console on to confirm this suspicion. Once the picture of Black Badge came up was Kira finally able to get her question answered.
'I had another weird nightmare I was hoping you could help me make sense of. I was on a hospital bed trying to get up because I saw a needle. Somebody pinned my thighs down and my right arm was held back. Then that needle was shoved into my upper left arm. Did that happen?' Kira pondered.
Moebius nodded. That's when Kira turned and saw Moebius was back to sitting on her bed. Kira looked down at her hands to see the purple fingerless gloves had returned.
"Are these visions and stuf as painful for you as it is for me?" Kira inqueried.
Moebius shook his head.
"Lucky." Kira retorted.
All of a sudden, Kira saw another flashback. She was taking a nap in the Stratacombs with all 3 Elises. Kira was unexpectedly dragged off the bed by both her ankles. The third Elise looked at Kira and made a hush motion.
Elise turned to look at the door and Kira did the same. Footsteps were heard coming from the right and getting closer. Sure enough, a soldier walked by. They had a flashlight in one hand and a gun in the other.
Kira was startled by the flashback.
"Well that was rather unexpected." Kira muttered.
"Elise, restraining order, Apollo." Moebius spoke.
"Is Elise trying to get a restraining order filed against Dr. Kamizono?" Kira hoped.
Moebius nodded and pointed to Kira.
"Do you think I could get one too?" Kira questioned.
Moebius shook his head.
"Well that sucks. Wait, is it because he's on my birth certificate and my superior at S-FIT? Does that mean I have to listen to and obey him? Even the words are disturbing." Kira rambled.
Unfortuntely, it seemed like the flashbacks and visions weren't going to leave Kira alone though. She was looking out the incredibly lengthy and bright left window of a hospital room. Suddenly, a warning is heard to evacuate the facility in its entirety. Kira left the room through the door on her right.
Once in the new area, Kira saw people everywhere wearing yellow hazmat suits. To avoid them, she got in the elevator. Sadly, Kira didn't think she could escape. There was another person with a suit in the elvator with her.
They were holding a rectangular tube which was releasing some sort of gas. It was attached to a portable vacuum on the ground. The gas being released smelled sweet. Kira knew she had a limited amount of time before she passed out.
A few seconds later, she succumbed to the anesthesia. Moebius must have known what Kira was thinking because he nodded.
"So that did happen. It's weird that I could just wake up from anesthesia, only to fall under its influence again." Kira joked.
Kira then noticed something strange about her creation.
"Wait a second, my DNA would've needed some other DNA to latch onto, right? And I'm able to change my hair and eye color to that when threatened. But, in order to do that, I'd need access to that DNA sequence. Wait, dno't tell me. My base DNA came from him didn't it?" Kira squeaked.
Moebius nodded.
"Are you sure?" Kira woried.
Another nod.
"Like, I can go tell somebody sure?" Kira panicked.
Zed's picture loaded on the console.
'Thank goodness GV grabbed the phone earlier so Asimov wouldn't hear any of this. Imagine if he found out that one of his employees was actually that messed up. At least that part of my DNA's been so far tampered with that it's still as if all my DNA was synthetic.' Kira pondered.
"Wait, if I'm Mytyl's replacement here, does that meany my base DNA increased my odds of retaining a Septima?" Kira wondered.
Moebius nodded.
"And what exactly did this make certain to happen that made him think that was a good idea? Because I do not know." Kira muttered.
Kira got up and went to look for Gunvolt.
"Hey, GV, uh, Lumen didn't die, did she?" Kira queried.
"No, why, did you think she did?" Gunvolt answered.
"Yeah, but this scene, did it still happen?" Kira spoke.
She hated doing it, but she showed him Joule's death scene.
"Yeah, the only difference is Joule wasn't the one who died. It shocked me that you were able to revive yourself." Gunvolt replied.
"I'm a horrible person." Kira cried.
"No, you didn't do anything wrong. Neither of us expected Nova to force you to fuse with him." Gunvolt responded.
"Are you saying that happened last night?" Kira worried.
"No, this was the last time." Gunvolt corrected.
"If it happens again, the third time won't be having any charm." Kira snarled.
Lumen giggled, causing Kira to glare at her.
"What? I can't help that how you said it was funny." Lumen remarked.
"I know at least he'll take me seriously." Kira hissed as she pointed to Gunvolt.
"Well who do you think revived you?" Lumen retorted.
Kira pointed to herself. Lumen rolled her eyes.
"Well, you can't blame her for thinking that. She has revived herself on many occassions." Gunvolt reminded.
Just then, Zeno called.
"Zeno, this is a surprise. What are you doing calling this early?" Gunvolt greeted.
"You remember when Kirin got scared by that Sumeragi bot that jumped out of a corner? Man, that was hilarious! She looked like a sheet!" Zeno mocked.
"Was I rolling up a long white two-prong electrical cord and putting it back on a hook on the wall?" Kira guessed.
"Geeves, why didn't you tell me that you had it on speaker phone?" Zeno growled.
"I thought you knew. It allows you to hear other things when turned on." Gunvolt notified.
"Hey Kirin, I'm sorry for what I said. Just wanted to let GV know that you're working on S-FIT'S third and either fifth or eighth divisions. I'm sorry about that. I heard what happened to you at S-FIT." Zeno informed.
"You're sorry about my existence for your own reasons." Kira realized.
After that, Kira stormed off. She sat on her bed with Moebius in her lap.
"I know the Psychokinesis Septima can manipulte matter. But can it manipulate minds too?" Kira wondered.
Layla's image was generated on her console.
"So, just the Muse right?" Kira assumed.
Gunvolt's image was generated.
"I still swear that none of this is real and I'm dreaming." Kira added.
"How did you know that happened?" Gunvolt asked.
Kira fell backwards with her legs and Moebius still in the same position. Lumen walked into the room, took one look at Kira and whipped her head to face Gunvolt. Kira noticed Lumen giving Gunvolt the same look Joule gave Quinn as she told the huma tht Gunvolt's hair was an "inviolable shrine".
"I'm confused, did I miss something?" Gunvolt pondered as he saw how irritated Lumen was.
"You scared her!" Lumen fumed.
"Now that you mention it, Kira's never screamed during a mission. Asimov said he was going to train her not to. But when he did go to train her, he found no point. I've never heard Kira scream on a mission ever." Gunvolt elucidated.
"It's probably because I lost most of my voice at S-FIT." Kira assumed.
"You still talk during missions." Gunvolt stated.
"Asimov said you have a distrust of humans, is that true?" Lumen inqueried.
Kira nodded.
"I love humans, but I just can't trust them. I love them even though it can hurt me and, sometimes I'll sympathize against my will." Kira elaborated.
"I take it Zeno is one of the people you don't want to trust?" Gunvolt theorized.
"No, honestly, I'd have an easier time trusting my worst Adept enemy over the nicest human." Kira noted.
"I could believe that." Gunvolt commented.
"Is it because of Sumeragi?" Lumen queried.
"In part, yeah. Otherwise, I've had a bunch of bad incidents with humans. That reminds me, I wanted to tell you something. I hate to say it, but Copen was right.
Adepts aren't humans. They're both on Lifewaves, sure. But the abilities Adepts have and the pros that come from them are seen as inhuman, even superhuman sometimes. Regardless, Moebius told me that.
You can always believe him when he says something." Kira answered.
"How are we supposed to know the differences between humans, Adepts and primal Dragons?" Lumen wondered.
"Other than the Septimas, Octimas and Lifewave differences, I haven't seen anything else noteworthy. Maybe I should go check out the wiki. I did say I would do that earlier." Kira remembered.
She got up, grabbed Moebius and went to inspect the laptop. Once she did, she was able to look over some information. Later on, it was lunch time again. Lumen made lunch that day. It consisted of rice noodles in seasoned chicken broth and seasoned chicken. There was fresh salad. And for dessert there was a very nice assortment of pockie sticks.
"Top Ramen has nothing on your cooking Lumen. They could learn a thing or two from you." Kira smiled.
"Did you find anything useful to explain the diferences?" Gunvolt asked.
"Nothing really. I'll look again later." Kira replied.
When lunch was done, Kira helped Lumen pick up the dishes.
"The only true difference I know is from Moebius. He's an actual dragon, minus the fire breathing." Kira rambled.
"He's so small and cute. It's hard to believe he's capable of so much." Lumen doubted.
"Moebius can use my Septimas to help with the Astral Order octima." Kira added.
"So the brainwashing wasn't purposeful from either of you?" Lumen noticed.
Kira nodded.
"How can you hypnotize Sumeragi Adepts who have Glaives to seal their Septimas!?" Lumen shouted.
"And all the ATEMS Knights. Not to mention Asroc and Ghuari." Asimov stated.
Kira leaned sideways and put her head on Lumen's left shoulder.
"Aaand she's scared again." Gunvolt sighed.
Asimov looked at Gunvolt curiously.
"I went to check on Kira earlier. She got scared and fell over." Gunvolt explained.
"If you want to scare me, please use friendly fire in the form of pranks." Kira squeaked.
"I still can't believe your Muse Septima can get past the Glaive's seal on a Septima." Lumen added.
"Speaking of which, why do you both lack a Glaive?" Gunvolt pondered.
"Kirin doesn't have one because she's Sumeragi's most powerful employee. They constantly need her working at full power. As for myself, they were working on prototyping the Glaive during the time I was there." Asimov elucidated.
"I'm confused. In Fleeting Memories, Mr. Yamato said that Dr. Kamizono worked on perfecting the Glaives. Does that mean your visor was the original Septima sealing device?" Kira questioned.
"Maybe, I can't say without proper verification." Asimov responded.
"Do all Azure Striker wielders have to be chained down during testing for Project Gunvolt and shocked with lightning? Because I don't ever recall knowing that happening to GV. I just know he was shocked with lightning in a glass tube." Kira supposed.
"It's almost like a right of passage for us Azure Strikers." Asimov confirmed.
Kira turned and gave Gunvolt a mischevious grin.
"Who needs pity pats now? Not me, but you!" Kira teased while pointing a finger at Gunvolt.
"Did you find anything elese out?" Asimov inqueried.
"Nothing yet." Kira denied.
There was a little awkward silence, so Kira decided to break it.
"So, any list of injuries I've gotten on the job so far?" Kira questioned.
"We'd be better off singing the periodic elements." Gunvolt warned.
"We can start by counting the needle mark in your finger. You've had a three inch long vertical cut above your right knee. There was also the time you complained about a bruise seven inches below your waistline, one behind your knee, second behind your left shoulder and another above your right ankle on the left side. Then the fight that left you sore all over with a bruise five inches above your left ankle.
You woke up with a cut on your upper right thigh. Not to mention the cut on your right knee with some blood to the left. Some pain in the upper right side of your back from a Septima Sealer Bullit. A needle mark on your upper abdomen.
Once the Wormhole Septima was implanted in your left arm you mentioned some pain. Next was a bullet in the top of the back of your right leg. It was followed by a bullet wound in your left side. Afterwards you had that first collarbone cut.
Not to forget the time Viper punched you. Your head hit the wall, and so did your back. That gunshot wound in your left foot near your left ankle. Both bullets in your front with a bullet in the center of each ribcage.
An inch long vertical cut ending directly above the bridge of your nose. Another bruise the size of a dime on the back of your left leg directly above your knee. There was another bruise on your right thigh, seven inches above your knee. No more records of injuries can be found." Asimov informed.
"So, what you're saying is I'm clumsy, right?" Kira guessed.
"I didn't say that. Your will to work regardless of the amount or severity of your injuries shows you're determined to get the job done." Asimov corrected.
