Chapter 11

Authors Notes

Hello everyone! I'm terribly sorry for another late chapter, work has been insanely busy with black friday and Christmas season arriving. I hope you all understand. I'm back with another chapter of Total Mix-Up Island. I wasn't sure how a lot of you guys would respond to Amy's departure, but it seems you were all happy that she got eliminated! One villain down. This episode's challenges were some of my favorites when I watched this season, so I hope that my version lives up to your guys' expectations.

Now onto the reviewers;

Gucci Mane LaFlare : Thank you! I appreciate that.

Dawn figuring out Amy's plot was important for her role in the story, which will be explained more in later chapters. Hahah, yeah it felt like every fic had Heather end up in the freezer, so I wanted to switch things up and have Jo be locked in instead. I also wanted to have Duncan interact more with Courtney than bully the nerd, so I had Dave basically avoid him the entire chapter. I'm glad you liked the theme change, I felt it would help the chapter stand out a bit more. I had to give Dawn the sage, she's a mystic after all. She'd be prepared for a situation just like this.

amit : Thank you. I appreciate it!

Yeah I wanted Brick to actually further his rivalry with Jo instead of just arguing with her constantly. I like your predictions! You'll have to see what happens. Don't worry, Mike personalities will make an appearance here soon.

romeoaifesili : Thank you! I appreciate that a lot!

Dave is a lot more forgiving than Harold I feel like, so having Dave be a little more frustrated than actually confronting him seems within his character. Yes, Jo gets locked in and Heather plots... I wanted to have someone other than Heather get stuck in the freezer, and I felt Jo was the perfect candidate. Brick standing up for himself is something I felt he never truly did in canon, and to answer your side note, no I don't see them as a couple, but I can understand why some would. Brick likes to be dominated, and Jo likes to dominate. But other than that I don't see it as realistic. To your statement about Amy being the most powerful player, you weren't wrong, but too much cursed energy around the camp would eventually catch Dawn's attention. If Dawn wasnt here, she would be the most powerful player. Checks and balances if you catch my drift. And bunny is still here, you'll have to see who ends up finding it!

Zeke the Prophet : Thank you! I appreciate it a lot.

Yes, Amy is finally gone. She made some dumb mistakes, and it cost her dearly. Hahah I wanted Amy to get annoyed by something this season, and I thought Jo's nicknames would really upset her. Zoey calling Amy dumb was more for her to see what a bad influence people can be on her character, because she is really vulnerable. Yes, Heather is playing nice for now, and Brick wants Jo gone because it's Jo.

Shuffollower : haha yes, it had to be now rather than later. Yes, both moves done by Amy were done poorly, but she had a good idea going. I feel like Amy is a villain who lets her emotions get in the way too much, and that's why she admitted to being the one behind the statue, and why she targeted Jo for called her names. I agree about Dawn and Zoey being friends, I thought they were going to be friends but then she got kicked off so early and it never panned out like you said. They fit each others personalities well.

millikan : you and everyone else are happy Amy is gone! And you'll have to wait and see who leaves next.

Alright! Now onto Chapter 11, I hope you all enjoy it!

(Start Episode)

"Previously, on Total Drama Island," Chris begins as scene opens up to a shot of the whole island bathed in sunlight, and the host continues his voice over, "the two teams battled it out in a test of their culinary skills." shots of both teams grabbing food from the truck and preparing their three courses.

"Jo and Geoff were elected Head Chefs, and that gave us some...interesting results. Hahaha!" Chris laughs as Dave is seen awkwardly standing with his hands bandaged up, and Jo is seen yelling at Brick and Mike while they worked on the salad.

"And while both teams prepared their meals in time for me to eat them, the Gophers managed to do something the Bass didn't. They made edible food." the host deadpans as clips of Chris eating the Gopher's food with a wide smile are shown, followed by shots of the host looking strangely at the Bass' food and gagging.

"And despite Amy's efforts to get rid of Jo, she ruins it for herself and admits to having a cursed statue, making her the target of the vote." Amy is shown taking the idol from her cabin, and placing it by the food, and a shot of her running out in frustration is shown before she is shown being dragged by Chef, yelling inaudible words at her former teammates.

"Now we're left with lucky number thirteen! Who's gonna be the one voted off?" Chris says, walking towards and stopping at the base of a rocky cliff. THe music swells as the host looks back at the camera and continues. "FInd out right now on Total, Drama, Island!"

Dear mom and dad I'm doing fine

You guys are on my mind

Everything to prove nothing in my way

The shot fades in, and a silver tray is shown. An upbeat military beat can be heard in the background as Chef's hand can be seen. He takes a scoop of some mysterious green sludge, plops it down on the plate sitting on the tray, and sticks a straw in the goop.

"Today's breakfast is Spanish-Italian fusion casserole." Chef proclaims proudly as he shoves the tray of slop into Dave's unsuspecting hands.

"You mean leftovers from the cooking challenge?" he asks, looking down at the slop and back up at Chef with a confused look.

"Yeah that's right!" Chef yells at the boy, leaning in close to the boy's now fearful face.

"S-Sir no sir!" Dave quickly replies as he awkwardly saultes, and Chef returns the gesture.

The camera cuts over to Jo, deeps bags under her eyes. Wrapped up in several blankets, she sneezes into a kleenex as Brick and Mike watch her with smiles on their faces. "You doing ok Jo?" the lanky teens asks. "You need any cold medicine ma'am?" Brick snickers, and Jo glares at the pair.

"You guys think that you're so funny. I'll make you guys wish you hadn't ever messed with me." she growls, and then rears back and lets out a large sneeze. "Too late." Mike smiles, and Jo sneezes once more. "I hate this team so much." she says.

/

The camera cuts to Dawn, sitting outside the dining hall. As she sits on the steps in a meditative pose, she opens her eyes as something rubs along her leg. She looks down and a wide eyed bunny can be seen looking up at the mystic.

"Well hello there my fluffy friend. What brings you to me on this lovely day?" she says while holding up the bunny, then pulling it into a large hug. "Don't worry friend, I shall keep you safe from the dangers of this island." she says, and the bunny snuggles up to Dawn.

/

Duncan walks up to the drinking fountain, and eyes the mugs sitting on the shelf next to it. He puts one of the cups underneath the fountain, and fills it up. After filling up the first mug, he looks around before quickly stashing the other mug in his shirt.

He turns around to leave but is greeted by the sight of a glaring Courtney. "I saw that. How can you just steal a mug?!" she asks the delinquent.

"Because it's cool, and I dont have one." He snickers before continuing. "Didn't have one that is." he finishes, walking by Courtney and sitting back down at the Gopher table. "But you could get kicked off if they find out!" the girls whispers as she follows him to the table.

"Aww you care about me! How sweet of you." Duncan taunts the girl, giving her a grin.

"No, we're barely beating those idiots on the other team, and I don't want to have someone kicked off and lose us our advantage!" she glares as she leans closer to the boy, Duncan seemingly unaffected. "Pffft, whatever. You dig me." he smirks, and Courtney groans in frustration. "Ughhh why do I even bother?! She walks away, rolling her eyes, hands balled in anger while Duncan watches with a smile.

/

The shot opens up to a path in the woods, light peeking through the trees onto the forest floor below. Birds fly by in the background, and a somber tune starts as Chris walks onto screen. "Hi, Chris here." he says with a frown on his face. "Sometimes, teams just don't get along. So the producers and I thought that the best way to work through the group fiction would be…" he pauses, raising up a finger, "to exploit it for laughs! This is gonna be awesome!" he finishes, rubbing his hands together with a joyful expression on his face.

/

Both teams stand on the dock, logos spinning above their respective teams. "So," Chris starts out, "last week's challenge exposed a few Bass issues." the host says as Brick and Jo can be seen glaring at each other, with Jo turning and kicking Brick right between his legs, the cadet falling to the ground in pain.

The host turns towards the Gophers and continues."And I'm sensing something funky burrowing its way into the Gophers burrow too." Duncan elbows Courtney, who gasps and glares at the boy, shoving him to the ground.

"So, this weeks challenge is going to be centered around building trust." Chris says as the camera cuts to both teams, Jo smiling at the still groaning Brick, and Duncan glaring at the now smirking Courtney.

"Because all good things begin with a little trust!" he says as Jo rolls her eyes at the statement.

"Trust? HA! I can't trust anyone on this team ever again, except maybe Zoey…" Jo says angrily, pondering her last thought before shrugging.

"There will be three major challenges that will have to be completed by two or more members of your team." Chris says as Duncan rolls his eyes at the glare he receives from Courtney. "Normally, we like to have the campers choose their partners, but not this time." Chris says as a wide smile grows on his face. "More fun for me!"

/

An intense tune plays as the campers have gathered at the base of the cliff, Chris standing in front of them. "Okay, so for the first challenge, you'll be doing an extreme, free hand rock climbing adventure!" the host says, camera panning up the rocky face of the cliff, showing it's height.

"Jo and Brick will play for the Bass, and Jasmine and Courtney will play for the Gophers." Chris says as he holds a harness and belay. "Here's everyones harnesses and belays." he says as he tosses the items to Jasmine and Brick, who has the items ripped from his hands by Jo.

"Hey what was that for?" Brick asks with a confused look on his face. "No way am I letting you hold me up Brick-for brains!" she yells at the boy.

"Well, you won't be holding them up exactly." Chris says as he holds his belay up in example. "One camper pulls the slack through the belay as their partner climbs." he pulls the line through the metal clip and lets it drop.

"If the climber falls," the host says as he pulls the line through once more, "It will stop them from crashing." he says as the rope goes taught, Jasmine pulling on the rope to test the durability.

"The catch? The base and the side of the cliff have been rigged with a few minor distractions and traps to make things more interesting. Things like, rusty nails, oil slick, mild explosives… and a few other surprises." Chris says as the camera cuts to each of the aforementioned traps, landing on the host who smiles innocently.

"Also, the person on belay must harness their partner. It's all about trust here, people." Chris tells the group as Jo looks at Brick with a devilish smile, Brick widening his eyes in fear.

"Remember, never let go of the rope. Your partner's life depends on it." Chris says, finger raised to get the point across. The camera pans back to the Bass, where Brick raises his hand. "Chris, can I get a new partner? I really don't want to die today." Brick says, sticking his thumb out at Jo. "Oh relax, I'm not gonna drop you on your head...yet. Now spread 'em" she says, holding the harness in front of the cadets face.

The camera cuts to Jasmine and Courtney, who is tightening the harness around the tall Austrailians waist. "I sure hope you can climb as fast as you say you can, or it'll be your last mistake." Courteny says, and Jasmine looks down at the girl with a frown. "You don't have to be so rude about it. I'm not going to fall at all." she says confidently.

"We still have three people trying to take control of this team! And I have to partner up with everyone's favorite!" Courtney grumbles, narrowing her eyes and crossing her arms out of frustration. "But..I guess it wouldn't be a bad thing to get on her good side, and then have her as an ally to kick Heather off." she says now smiling at the confessional camera. "If that works, then it's just me and her, and I won't lose."

A hand reaches out to grab the one spot where nails didn't sit exposed, and the camera zooms out, revealing Brick making his way up the cliff. Jasmine is seen climbing up next to him, both in a tight race to finish ahead of one another. Just as Brick pulls ahead, an explosion rips through the rocks above him, sending debris falling towards him.

He tries to avoid the debris, but another explosion comes from directly in front of him, and the cadet screams as he falls. The rope goes taught, and Jo can be seen holding onto the rope with one hand, a serious look on her face. "Don't worry, I've got you!" she calls out, and Chris pops up onto the screen.

"See? I told you there would be surprises. Habanero pepper sauce anyone?" the host grins evilly, holding up a large yellow squirt gun. The nozzle is pointed at the campers, and a red liquid shoots out towards Courtney.

"OW! What the hell Chris!" the Type A shouts, letting go of the rope to rub her eyes after getting hit with the habanero sauce. Surprisingly, Jasmine doesn't fall, and continues to make her way up, albeit slowly due to the oil slick making it hard to grab onto things.

Chris then points the gun at Jo and sprays her, but she turns and opens her mouth, swallowing the majority of the sauce that hit her. "That's the best you can do McLean?" she grins. "Is that the best we can do?" Chris whispers to the camera.

/

Brick and Jasmine are seen still climbing, Brick slowly catching up to the still struggling Jasmine, the oil slick still bothering her. Brick passes an angry looking Jasmine, a confident smile plastered on his face. As he races past the outdoor adventurer, Jo calls out from below. "Hey Brick! This is for locking me in the freezer!" She shouts as she yanks really hard on the line, throwing brick up into the air and giving him a massive wedgie. "AHHHAHAHAA!" the cadet cries out in pain as he is yanked higher and higher, digging his harness higher up his waist.

"Ohohoohooo, that has GOT to hurt!" Chris yells as he winces in pain, watching the cadet get thrown around by the jockette. "Jo, stop that! He's had enough!" Zoey yells with a concerned voice, grabbing a hold of Jo's arms and wrestling with her to stop.

"Alright fine!" she grumbles, and lets the rope relax. Brick finally drops down, a tear running down his cheek as he loosely grabs onto an exposed edge. As he regains his senses, he looks up and sees that Jasmine has already climbed up to the top, albeit covered in grease. "Woohoo! That's what I'm talking about!" she cheers.

"Looks like the Gophers have won the first challenge!" Chris says as Jasmine continues to celebrate, Courtney giving her a small smile.

/

The dining hall is bathed in light by three stage lights. One on the left, one on the right, and one in the middle, where a podium stands. Mike and Tyler are raised up on the right side, and Heather and Geoff on the left. An unknown person flips through the air and lands behind the podium, Chris standing up with a sly smile on his face.

"And now round two! The EXTREME, COOKING, CHALLENGE!" the host shouts dramatically. An awkward silence follows as the unknown person is revealed to be an intern, who awkwardly crawls away from the podium and into the kitchen.

"Each team must choose who cooks, and who eats!" Chris says, eyeing both teams.

"I'll cook!" Heather quickly shouts, and Geoff shrugs in nonchalance. "I can cook Tyler!" Mike says confidently and the jock gives him a nod.

"Today you'll be preparing Fugu Sashimi...the traditional Japanese poisonous blowfish." Chris calmly tells the four teens, Chef wheeling out a water tank with two blowfish inside. A large clang is heard, and the camera shakes as it cuts to Chris, now standing next to a picture of a blowfish's anatomy

"The fugu blowfish contains enough lethal toxin to kill...thirty people." he says, tha camera focusing on the two bobbing fish, as Chef knocks on the glass, making the blowfish puff up. "Fishies...meet your MAKER!" the hulking man shouts as he grabs the two blowfish out of the tank and tosses them at both teams. The blowfish land on a cutting board.

"They must be sliced veeerry carefully to cut around the poisonous organs." Chris explains as both chefs look nervously at their food. "The poison paralyzes the nerves, and there is no antidote! So no worries" Chris says, an evil smirk briefly flashing across his face.

"Are you sure you can cook this dish dude?! I don't wanna be paralyzed!" Tyler begs, shaking Mike. The lanky teen looks around and smiles, an idea forming in his head. "If you bring me Geoffs hat, I can cook this no problem!" He whispers to the jock, who just looks at him strangely.

"Look, do you want to be paralyzed or not?" Mike shouts, and Tyler quickly runs over to Geoff. "Hey can I borrow this thanks!" he calls back as he grabs the party boy's hat and tosses it on Mike's head. He gasps, and gains a confident looking smirk on his face.

"Mike? Is that you?" Tyler asks, and the lanky teen laughs at Tylers question. "Name's Manitoba Smith! Famous treasure hunter!" he calls out in a distinctive Australian accent. "Now, what seems to be the problem with this here blowfish?" he says as the poisonous fish flops in front of his feet.

/

Manitoba sets down a plate full of sashimi rolls, and tops the dish with a small piece of parsley. "Here ya go mate! Enjoy." he says, tipping his cap at the jock, who nervously grabs a piece. Chef and Chris watch with anticipation, wondering what would happen to the boy.

Tyler tosses the sashimi piece into his mouth, chewing it with caution. He swallows the fish, and a wide smile plasters itself onto Tyler's face. "Nice job uh...Manitoba!" he says as the Australian puffs out his chest.

"Can I have my hat back now?" Geoff asks with a frown, and Tyler smiles sheepishly before grabbing the hat and tossing it back to the party boy. Manitoba gasps, and groans as he rubs his head.

"So, do I still need to cook?" Mike asks. Tyler shoots him a confused look, and turns to watch the other two eat their food. Heather sets a plate down in front of Geoff, with a grilled piece of blowfish on top, a green sauce on the side, garnished to perfection. "Looks good!" he smiles as he cuts a piece off, and sticks it in his mouth chewing slowly.

He swallows, and smiles at Heather, seemingly fine. "Not ba-" Geoff starts before a loud rumbling can be heard, and Geoff falls to the ground with a groan. "What happened?" he slurs as struggling to pull himself up, his skin now blue.

"I don't know! I did everything perfectly!" Heather cries out, baffled at Geoff's condition. She looks at the instructions in a panic, before freezing. "I may or may not have mixed up the poisonous organ with his stomach…." she peeks over the book nervously.

Mike and Tyler rush over as Geoff starts to vomit uncontrollably from his mouth. "Is anyone gonna help the guy?" Tyler asks, and Chris walks over calmly. "Don't worry, the poison wears off after twenty-four hours, and Chef has medicine to relieve the pain." he says, as the shot cuts to Geoff, a shadow looming over him. Chef is seen in a nurses uniform, leaning in to perform CPR, and Geoff gurgles out a scream.

/

The sun looms high over Wawanakwa, and it zooms out to show Dawn sitting alone on the dock, holding the bunny in her arms. "Oh what a lovely creature you've found Dawn!" a voice calls out. The mystic turns to see Ella approaching, sitting close to the petite blonde and smiling innocently.

"Yes, Bunny is quite the friend indeed. I must keep him safe from the dangers of this island!" she says with a determined face, Ella giving her a soft smile. "If you want, I could watch Bunny for you while you partake in the next challenge! I can sing a song to keep it calm."

Dawn ponders for a moment, before nodding and smiling at the princess. "That would be amazing of you Ella! I can see in your aura that you truly love all of nature's creatures." She tells her with reassurance, and stands up to hand her Bunny.

"Take good care of him." she says, walking away. Ella takes the furry animal into her arms with a wondrous expression, smiling widely. "Oh thank you so much Dawn!" she calls out as the mystic makes her way back to the campsite.

/

Inside a green medical tent, Geoff can be seen laying on a hospital bed of sorts, curling up as the paralysis takes over. Chef walks up to the boy, holding a syringe full of purple liquid. "This won't hurt a bit…it'll hurt a lot." he says, flicking the syringe and squirting out a few drops of the liquid, smiling devilishly at the party boy.

/

"Good news!" Chris says as the camera pans down to show the teams both standing somewhere in the woods, awaiting the next challenge. "The third round involves three more challenges!" he continues, a smile on his face. "It's the three blind challenges!" the host starts, the camera panning over the teens as he continues. "It veins with the blind William Tell, followed by the blind trapeze and culminating in the treacherous blind toboggan." Chris finishes, the camera resting on Dave.

"I really hope I don't have to do any of these.." he says, and Chris immediately walks over and throws a pair of orange protective glasses on him, and places a single arrow on his head.

"Like legendary marksman William Tell," chris starts as the camera zooms out, the host now standing by a bucket of apples, "you'll be knocking arrows off your partners head…with crab apples." he finishes, tossing an apple in his hand.

"Um, wasn't it the other way around?" Courtney asks the host, who simply smiles and raises a finger to his lips. "SUSH!" He then pulls out a white blindfold, holding it in front of him for the campers to see. "Also, the shooter will be blindfolded." he says, gaining a gasp from the teens.

"The person who knocks off the arrow while causing the least amount of facial damage, WINS." Chris says now blindfolded and holding a slingshot. He releases, and the apple hits Dave right between the legs, and Dave falls to the ground in pain. "Ahhhh, nuts!" the host says, raising his blindfold and seeing the results. "Zoey and Dawn, you'll be one team, Duncan and Dave, you'll be the other." Chris says, and Duncan gives the boy a malicious grin, while Dave simply whimpers.

/

"Ok let's do this!" Chris shouts, Dave and Zoey standing several meters away from their shooters. Duncan and Dawn pick up their apples, and start launching them at their targets. Apples fly and hit both teens, who groan and hide behind their arms in an attempt to prevent themselves from being hit.

Duncan and Dawn continue to launch apples, and Dawn get closer and closer to the arrow, while Duncan continues to hit Dave in the torso. Finally, Dawn picks up her last apple, and takes a deep breath before launching it forward. It sails towards Zoey's head, and knocks the arrow clean off.

The mystic raises her blindfold and smiles. "I did it! Yes!" she cheers. Duncan however, continues to launch apples at Dave. "I'm not done yet pipsqueak!" he calls out as he launches more apples. Dave gets bombarded with hard crabapples, and curls into the fetal position to avoid getting any more injured.

"Duncan, that's enough! Just let it go already!" Chris shakes the boy, who raises his blindfold and looks at the curled up boy. "Whoops, my bad." is all he can muster, and his team looks at him with a mixture of anger, shock, and confusion.

/

"This is the flying trapeze!" Chris says, the teams now standing in a clearing, a wooden structure standing high above a small pool of water. The structure is connected by two horizontal wooden beams going across the pond, with trapeze bars hanging from two different boards.

"To avoid serious injury, the trapeze bars have been set up over this pond," Chris gestures towards the small pool of water, "which is full of jellyfish." he says, the camera cutting to the aforementioned creatures, crackling with electricity in the water.

"You two will stand on the platform until your partners tell you to jump." the host tosses the blindfolds to Heather and Brick, both looking nervously at the water. "And then what?" Heather asks Chris with a questioning look.

"Hope they catch you! Otherwise," Chris says, pointing to the pond crackling with electricity, "that's gonna be a heck of a painful swim." he finishes, a laugh escaping from him.

/

Both teams await their partners commands, nervously hugging the poles while blindfolded. "Okay Brick, you have to trust me!" Zoey calls out to the cadet, who nervously puts his foot out to test the length of the platform. As he pulls back with a nervous breath, Zoey calls out to him one more time. "Come on Brick! You're a soldier! Be brave! One...two…three!" she calls and he steels himself and jumps, shouting a battle cry as he falls, landing right in Zoey's arms. Their team cheers as Brick shouts in jubilation "Woohooo! I'm alive!"

/

"Okay Heather, are you ready?" Ella calls out to the Queen Bee, who nods in response. "Okay, one…two..thr-hey where's Bunny at?" the princess wonders, nervously feeling around for the rabbit, which peeks through her bun. Ella breathes a sigh of relief.

"Oh good, I thought you had jumped away-"

"Jump?" Heather calls as she hops off the ledge. "Heather NO!" Ella cries out, but the dark haired girl falls right past her fingers, and into the lake. A shocking noise is heard as Heather cries out in pain, and quickly scrambles for land.

"Ooohooooohoo. Owie! That's a point for the Bass! And another one sent to the infirmary." Chris says watching Heather leave, a large jellyfish attached to her back.

/

Heather walks to the infirmary, grumbling to herself. "Stupid alliance, good thing we're close to the merge so I can vote off those losers." She says, getting stung almost comically powerfully, her skeleton visible while being stung. She walks into the infirmary and sits down on a bed, a deep frown on her face. "You got anything for jellyfish stings?" she directs towards Chef, getting stung once more. The hulking man nods and turns back to what he was doing, and the camera pans to show Dave sitting up groggily.

"Ohhhh, wh-where am I?" he asks no one in particular. "The infirmary you idiot." Heather snaps at him, and Dave looks undisturbed by Heather's attitude.

/

"Okay, the final leg!" Chris says to the remaining campers. "The blind toboggan race!"

"Care to say that again?" Mike says nervously, the host continuing on. "Each team will have a driver and a navigator. The driver steers, and the navigator calls out directions. Oh yeah, and the driver is blind!" He finishes, the campers gasping in fear as they hear the news.

"Wow, there's not a lot of you guys left! I keep losing you." Chris continues, pressing a finger to his lips in thought. "Okay, Ella and Duncan, you'll be riding for the Gophers, Dawn and Jo for the Bass."

/

The looming one-thousand foot cliff can be seen in the distance, the camera quickly cutting to the top where the four teens await their challenge to begin. Chef can be seen painting grease onto the bottoms of both toboggans, a smile on his face.

"It'll help make things more…speedy!" the large man tells the camera before laughing. Both teams then grab their toboggans and sit on the hill as Chris makes his way to the starting line. Jo drives for the Bass and Ella drives for the Gophers. "Okay guys, are you ready?" her asks, and Ella raises her hand with a question. "Are you sure this is safe?"

Chris smiles evilly and gives Chef a nod, both taking places behind the sleds. "On your mark...get set.." he slams his finger down on an airhorn, both him and Chef giving the teams a kick from behind, signaling the start of the race.

Intense music starts to play as both teams lean forward and start their extremely fast race towards the bottom. Dawn watches the trees and logs fly by as she calls out directions. "Left! Now right! Right again!" she calls as Jo expertly weaves around and through obstacles, a grin on her face. "Woohoo! Now this is a challenge!" Jo yells out, unaware of the cliff rapidly approaching. "Jo...look out!" Dawn yells, pointing towards the cliff to no avail, they fall off the cliff, landing in the river. "The tea leaves said nothing about this!" the mystic cries as the fall down a waterfall, landing on a branch that springs them back onto the path, resuming their race.

Duncan watches with a wide eyed expression as Ella struggles to keep the toboggan straight, frantically calling out directions to the princess. "No left! Watch out! DUCK!" he yells, and Ella screams as a duck slams into her head, launching bunny out of her bun.

Ella gasps and turns around, lifting her blindfold as Bunny hangs in the air above their sled. "Oh no! Bunny! I must save him quickly!" she says, looking around for anything that could help her reach the quickly descending bunny. Duncan watches Ella with a curious expression, before sighing and attempting to grab the quickly descending rabbit. He leans out to the left, barely catching the bunny by his leg, and Ella breathes a large sigh of relief.

With newfound confidence, Ella pulls down her blindfold and turns back around. "Let's win this thing!" she yells, and Duncan starts to call out directions once more. "Right! Left! Left!" he yells as they quickly catch Jo and Dawn, the mystic watching in shock as the two pass by.

Suddenly, an explosion rips the ground apart, and both drivers look around confused. "What the heck was that?" Jo called out, the camera cutting to Chris holding a detonator.

"We had some extra explosives, and I just hate to waste." he grins slyly at the camera, shoving the detonator down once more.

Several explosions detonate right behind both teams, the teens screaming as they avoid the blasts. Just as they begin to reach the finish line, Duncan and Ella are hit by an explosion, blasting them into the air.

The Bass cheer as their team approaches the ribbon, confident they've regained their edge. But, a shadow grows overhead, and the Gophers toboggan rips through the ribbon, landing right on the finish line. A triumphant tune plays as the Gophers cheer, their team having won the final challenge.

"Oh Duncan, you saved Bunny for me and for Dawn! You're so sweet!" She says, batting her eyelashes at the delinquent who simply rolls his eyes and shrugs. "Whatever, it was no big deal." he says, turning away only to be greeted by Courtney.

"I didn't know you had a soft side to you Duncan." she smiles and he huffs defensively. "Well, the stupid thing just happened to fall in my hand ok? I didn't save anything." he retorts, Courntey unwavering. "No, you're a little nice. Don't try to deny it." she smiles, and the delinquent sighs.

"Ok fine, I didn't want to see the innocent girl cry. You have to keep this between us ok?" he says, a pleading look in his eyes. Courtney walks away form the boy with a smile."Don't worry, your secret is safe with me."

"Look, I'm not nice!" Duncan says to the confessional camera in a threatening tone. "Let's set the record straight, I pelted that scrawny kid Dave on purpose. So don't get me confused with someone else."

'Um, I hate to interrupt, but Ella removed her blindfold, costing them the challenge, and the game. The Bass win!" Chris calls out, and they cheer once more, even louder than before.

/

The island's suspenseful campfire tune plays as the island is once again shown at night, illuminated by the light of the moon and the campfire pit. The camera zooms in, and Chris stands in front of the seven Bass, marshmallow plate in hand.

"Who wants a treat? A goodie that represents exemption, security, peace of mind-" the host is interrupted by a groan from Courtney. "Just get on with it!" she groans in an annoyed tone. "Andifyoudontgetamarshmallowyouhavetowalkthedockofshameandyoucantcomeback…ever!" Chris pops up by the Type A and spouts out his usual speech, before returning to his podium, and grabs his plate.

"Let's see, one for Jasmine, one for Dave, one for Courtney, one for Geoff!" He points to the marshmallows before grabbing them, throwing each teen their marshmallows, happy looks on all four campers faces. "One for Heather as well!" Chris says, tossing the girl her treat, a grateful expression donning her face.

"Duncan, Ella. There's only one marshmallow left on this plate." The music intensifies as the camera cuts to Duncans unamused face, and Ella's nervous one. Chris holds the marshmallow in his hands. "The last marshmallow goes to..."the music peaks, and Courtney huffs once more. "Get on with it already!" she grumbles, and Chris gives her a frown.

"People eat this sort of stuff up! It gets killer ratings!" he says, before splitting the marshmallow in half. "Both of you." the host smiles, and all the teens look at Chris, shocked expressions on their faces. "Wait, you mean…none of us are leaving tonight?!" Dave asks the host with a questioning look. "I thought you said someone would be getting voted off every ceremony!" Heather yells angrily.

"Well...I lied!" No one is going home tonight! Count yourselves lucky!" Chris says, and the Gophers cheer, realizing what had just happened. "Woohoo! You're both safe!" Dave shouts in glee. He gives Ella an embrace, the princess looking down in shock. Dave opens his eyes wide and pulls back, looking at Ella with a blush. "S-sorry about that..." he says before awkwardly running off.

Duncan and Courtney also embrace, albiet a bit less awkwardly. "You get to stay! YES!" the Type A shouts, and Duncan pulls back with a smirk. "I told you that you dig me. You just proved your point." Courtney gasps, and pulls her arms back, glaring at the delinquent. "I-i did not! I just think it's better for a statistical numbers advantage...that's all!" she huffs, walking away while Duncan watches with a grin. The camera then pans to Heather, who watches the rest of her team celebrate with a frown on her face.

"Ella should be on that boat going HOME!" Heather screams to the confessional camera, furious at Chris for his decision. "I can't believe that this is happening! I have to get rid of Ella, she's making to many new allies." she says, glaring while looking off camera. "I guess I'll have to make sure that Ella looks guilty next time we lose a challenge." she says, putting a hand on her chin, and idea forming in her brain.

"Well, that was a fun little twist! Will the Gophers be able to make good use of their lucky break? I doubt it." Chris says, still by the fire pit where the Gophers socialize and roast more marshmallows. "Stay tuned next week to see what other death defying challenges these campers will take on, right here! On Total, Drama, Island!" the host finishes, the camera zooming out with every word, showing the full scope of the island once more.

So, the big twist…no one goes home this week! Don't worry, there is a reason for this, and I will explain to it when we get there!I have wanted to put that scenario in this story for some time, but it was too early up until now to use it. Plus, I think next week's challenge will provide a more clear target to be voted off, and I wanted to add a little more originality to my story. I hope that caught you all by surprise! I think having Ella take care of the bunny subplot with Dawn worked, albeit I wanted to make mine a bit more corny on how Ella lost Bunny. On another note, Manitoba made his debut in what I think is in an appropriate episode and situation. I feel like he would definitely know how to prepare blowfish. Okay, I need to start this weeks chapter, so I'll look forward to your reviews, and I'll see you all next week!
