Chapter 23
Authors Notes
Hey everyone! We are down to the final five competitors in the first season of Total Mix-Up Island! I hope you are all excited to see who makes the finale, and I promise it'll be a satisfying ending to the season! Anyhow, onto the reviewers,
Gucci Mane LaFlare: thank you! It was a super happy day that's for sure! I fixed that grammar mistake that you pointed out. I think after I finish the final chapter of this season I will go through and make fixes to all of the chapters. It was definitely fun to see the losers in the original show, and I wanted to give more room for other characters to pitch in their thoughts, and not focus on a few specific characters. So bye-bye to Courtney's lamp post/hunting scenes.
Zeke the Prophet: Yes you guessed right! Jo is gone, and set up for an…interesting future. You are right in saying no one likes Heather, and Ezekiel seems too aloof to really understand what the true meaning of her actions meant to everyone else. I also like your guesses as to the elimination order/final two! You'll have to stay tuned to see who makes it all the way!
Shuffollower: Yes! I am back and a villain falls! I'm sure you had a smile reading this chapter then huh hahaha! Heather is definitely more vulnerable now, but it's becoming every man for themselves at this point. She might be safe for now at least. I like your prediction for the final elimination order! You'll have to stay tuned to see who goes down next!
millikan: Glad to be back! Yeah Jo's time was up, and I have the stage set for the final five! Also I think you meant Mike instead of Dawn, just checking hahah! You'll have to wait and see who makes it to the finals, so stay tuned!
crosshot: glad you liked it! I didn't really include the intro because it was such a different episode from the others. I felt it wasnt super necessary, but that's besides the point. As for everyone knowing about Mike's disorder or not, I am writing it as if the characters still aren't aware. I think having Mike reveal it in a non confessional scene would give it some more punch, and I didn't want to write the big reveal when Mike isn't in the episode. I hope you continue reading until the end!
system-hell: Wow what a binge! Glad you've liked the cast and how i've developed everyone so far! Hearing that I'm doing a good job really help my motivation and makes me really wanna nail another chapter out. As for your complaint, don't worry, all will be fixed in the big reveal. I'm having Mike take a more casual approach to how people define/call his disorder, I think that'll be easier to write for his character.
With that wrapped up, onto Chapter 23 of Total Mix-Up Island!
-Bodvar
Campers
Boys: Mike, Dave
Girls: Zoey, Heather, Dawn
XXXX
The usual beginning chorus could be heard, and Chris began his voiceover. "Last time on Total Drama Island," he starts, as the shot opens up to the Playa De Losers instead of Wawanakwa, "we took a trip to Playa De Losers to see what the life of a reality star has-been was like." Chris continues, clips of the teens hanging out, swimming, and making out flash on screen. "After hearing about what our former campers thought about being at the resort, we cut right into the good stuff." he laughs before resuming. "What did they think of our final six?"
More clips of the campers explaining their thoughts on the remaining campers are shown on screen. Jasmine respecting Heather's social skills, Geoff and DJ talking about Mike's unusual behavior, and Brick looking annoyed when asked about Jo. "After hearing their real thoughts on all of our finalists, I presented them with a huge twist! They got to pick the loser in a surprise vote!" Chris holds back laughter at the scene of the campers sitting around the pool, shouting the names of their most hated campers under the moonlit sky. "And to most people's surprise, it was Jo who got brought to the loser resort!" he cheerfully finishes, a shocked Jo being pushed onto the resort dock by Chef, her eyes wide in shock.
Ending the flashback, Chris can be seen standing at the dock of shame, dark clouds covering the usually blue sky. "Now, with only five players left with a chance at the hundred grand, it's time to bring the heat!" he exclaims, raising his arms in dramatic fashion. "Find out what happens next right here, on Total, Drama, Island!" he exclaims, the music coming to a crescendo, the camera zooming out rapidly with every word, exposing the island.
(Fade to Intro)
Dear mom and dad I'm doing fine
You guys are on my mind
You asked me what I wanted to be
And now I think the answer is plain to see
I wanna be famous
I wanna live close to the sun
Well pack your bags cause I've already won
Everything to prove nothing in my way
I'll get there one day
Cause I wanna be famous
(Nananananana nanananana nanananana)
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous
(Nananananana nanananana nanananana)
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous
(Nananananana nanananana nanananana)
(End Intro)
The sound of rain can be heard as the camera fades into a shot of the dock of shame. Dark clouds cover the sky, torrents of large rain droplets fall onto the quiet camp. Chris can be seen under a large black umbrella, his usual grin plastered on his face as he raises a hand to touch the rain.
"Welcome back to Total Drama Island! This week, we've prepared a bizarre episode full of surprises!" The camera cuts to a close up of the host's face as he continues. "For instance, take this weather. "Rain is not an easy thing to control, lemme tell ya." he shakes his head. "But, we figured the five remaining campers were gettin off way too easy." His grin turns sly and he raises his hand once more. "We pulled a few strings, and viola!"
A burst of lightning shoots down from the clouds, and connects with Chris. "Gyah!" He jumps in the air, yelping in pain as his clothes and skin become charred.
/
Outside both lodges, rain forms large puddles, and turns much of the grass into a muddy mess. Cutting to the porches, Mike plays with a yo-yo, and Dawn and Heather lounge and watch the rain pour down in front of them. "Listen up campers," Chris begins from the loudspeakers, "one cannot go to a summer camp and avoid the dreaded rain day. Where all activities with any remote chance of fun, are canceled in favor of the crafts tent!"
The camera zooms in closely on Mike's yo-yo, the plastic circle falling in and out of view. "The forecast for tomorrow? Rain, rain, more rain…and oh yeah, rain!" Chris rattles on happily, the camera cutting to each of the teens bored faces. "See you in the craft tent tomorrow, at 0700 hours!" Chris hangs up, and Heather gives Dawn a sly smile.
"You know, none of your crazy hippie powers can stop me from winning now that Jo's gone." Dawn glances at Heather and frowns, but says nothing. "It's true you know, oh and you should probably go and stand out in the rain. It'll help you grow." She ends with a happy tone. The mystic "Why don't you just do everyone here a favor and leave." Dawn snips back, her lips puckered in anger.
"Heather, knock it off. None of us here like you anymore, so just leave us all alone.." Mike frowns from the other porch, the yo-yo retreating back into his hand. He stuffs it in his pocket and looks out at the rain. "I don't even think Zoey could put a nice spin on this weather." He pauses and looks around curiously. "Hey, where is Zoey?"
Dawn raises a finger. "She is still on the island, as is our friend Dave." she adds, Heather rolling her eyes but saying nothing.

Zoey sits in the confessional, a distraught look in her eyes. "I'm having a really hard time even being around Mike! Ever since he talked about wanting Heather, I've had my doubts on him ever even liking me." She sighs but presses on. "I just, I can't take anymore heartbreak. Maybe I should talk to him…oh but I can't!" Her eyes flash with anger. "I can't, otherwise I might go ballistic. I mean, he led me on this entire competition!" Zoey buries her head in her hands for a few seconds.
She looks up with watery eyes. "I-I think I might just stay here for a while." her breath shakes as she finishes, and a knock is heard on the door.

"Uhhh Zoey?" Dave asks, awkwardly standing outside the outhouse, his clothes and hair drenched. "D-Dave?!" Zoey exclaims, perplexed at hearing the germaphobe's voice. "What are you doing here?!"
The boy nervously scratched the back of his neck before continuing. "I just came to talk in the confessional, but I think you need it more than I do…" he chuckles, slowly backing away. "So uh, don't stay in there too long okay?" he asks, his voice growing distant as he walks offscreen.
/
Back at the cabins, Dave had joined Mike on the porch, the four teens still watching the rain. The wind started to howl, and the rain came down even faster from above. The cast gets up from the steps and walks towards their rooms, Dave and Dawn shutting the doors behind them.
/
The rain continued to pour down, compiling in massive puddles and streams that flowed right outside the cabins. In the stream of water, a wooden chair, a tool shed, and a log carrying a family of raccoons flowed past the camera.
Even a submarine's scope could be seen coming from the stream, a squirrel sitting on top of the scope. The camera then pans up, focusing on the dark layer of clouds above. It transitions into a sunny shot of the exact same spot, the rays shining down brightly on the trees below.
/
A hand clangs a bell back and forth, the shot zooming out quickly to reveal the hand as Chefs, the hulking man standing on the main lodge's porch, a steel bucket of potatoes at his feet.
The sound of a motor can be heard as Chris approaches the cook on his ATV. The camera zooms in on the host, a confused expression on his face. "Hey Chef, you seen the campers?"
"No! And I just peeled a whole bag of rotten spuds!" Chef replies sounding concerned, and lifts the bucket of greenish looking roots up to Chris.
The camera cuts back to the host. "Yeah, me neither. Come to think of it, I can't even find their cabins!" He mutters, rubbing his chin in thought. A sharp and intense note plays as the camera zooms out quickly, revealing the space behind Chris to be devoid of the rundown cabins.
/
The cabins are seen floating in the lake, Wanamaker in the background behind the cabins. The chairs flow by the camera once again, the raccoon family now atop the wooden seat. Not far behind, Dawn and Heather's bunk bed bobs past the camera, both girls sleeping peacefully despite their predicament.
Mike opens up the door, eyes rimmed with dark circles. He takes a step forward, then shouts in alarm as he falls into the water with a splash. Heather shot up upon hearing the splash, and her eyes grew wide with shock. "Ahhhhaaaahhhhhhhh!"
She too slips into the water, and the camera pans up to Dawn. She awoke, looking groggy and yawned. Hearing the sound of rushing water and chittering raccoons, she perked up in wonder.
"Oh my, how did we get out here?" the mystic looks around in awe at her surroundings. Her eyes widen and another splash is heard off screen.
"Heeeeeelp! All this algae is gonna give me jungle rot, and-and ringworm!" The Normal Boy wails, flailing about in the water.
"I got him!" Mike shouts, swimming over to the boy and wrapping one of his arms around his waist. The camera cuts back to Heather who rolls her eyes at the scene. But her eyes quickly grow wide with fear as she sees something else behind them.
"Mike, behind you!" Dawn shouts as she swims up next to Heather, the camera quickly panning over to the struggling teen. Both Mike and Dave look back in confusion, only to see the gaping jaw of a shark rapidly approaching them. Both boys scream and jump out of the water, comically running through the air as they land on a cabin's porch, the girls swimming up right behind them.
/
Clinging to the support beams and railings, the four terrified contestants watched as their bunks beds were quickly snatched below the surface by the sharks. "Anyone got any bright ideas on how to get outta here?" Dave pleads. He turns his head to Dawn, who shakes her head rapidly. "Even I cannot calm down these sharks right now."
"Hey, where's Zoey?" the camera cuts to Mike, who is now rapidly swinging his head back and forth in worry. "Zoey! Zoey! Where are you!" he shouts, looking extremely unsettled.
xxx
(static)
"Can you believe they kicked me off the archery team for that!?" Zoey exclaims to the confessional camera, then frowns. "I in hindsight guess it makes sense, since I didn't follow safety instructions and hit our instructor in the butt…" she mutters, putting a hand to her chin in thought.
"But he met his wife in the hospital, so I guess things turned out okay?" she wonders aloud, shrugging before giving the camera a soft smile. "Okay, I think that's enough. I need to take a shower."
(static)
xxx
Opening the door, Zoey's expression changed from a small smile to a look of pure shock. "Oh no, I'm stranded!" she gasps, quickly shutting the door. "I wonder where everyone else is?"
/
On a bed of sand, Mike's feet step into view. Zooming out, the other four cast members look around in confusion at where they had landed. The cabin had crashed onto the beach of an unknown island, unnaturally large flora and palm trees decorated the forest and beach. The camera cuts back to a close-up of Mike and Dave, the lanky boy putting both hands on the germaphobe's shoulders.
"And you're sure you talked to her in the outhouse?" Mike asked, Dave nodding as he removed Mike's hands from his person, and the camera followed him further up the beach. "Yeah, I went there last night when the storm hit. She might still be in there!" He gives the boy a less than confident smile, awkwardly sighing as he walks away. Mike frowns, but begins to look around with the others.
"Where are we anyways?" he asks, Dawn again shaking her head. "I cannot tell, but all I know is there is not much natural energy from this wildlife." she explains. "Wait, we're lost?!" Dave shrieks, Heather rolling her eyes.
"No you idiot, we probably just sailed down to another one of Chris' stupid production sets with fake props!" She turns and kicks a nearby rock, and a crunch sound rings through the air. "Urrrghh." she grunts, her face lighting up with pain. "Maybe Chris will send a search party? I mean we are the stars of his show." Mike reassures the teens.
xxx
(static)
"Just to set the record straight," Chris begins, hands on his hips, "my production sets are NOT cheesy!" he angrily defends, holding up three fingers. "I lost three interns moving those rocks into place." he motions with both of his hands and then folds them. "And as for those last two comments, nuh-uh." he shakes his head. "I'm the main attraction here, and that search party isn't coming."
(static)
xxx
In a close up of the hosts, Chris and Chef stare at the former spot of the cabins. "Well, I guess that means craft day is canceled." Chris frowns before shrugging and grinning widely. "Oh well, I'm starving. Let's eat!" he announces, turning to Chef, whose eyes go wide. He looks down at the bucket and back up at the host. "You actually wanna eat this slop?!" he bewilderedly exclaims.
"Nah, I was talking about the breakfast bar back at our place." he laughs, the hulking man also chuckling. "Cooool." they continue to chuckle, Chef lightly hitting Chris in the shoulder. The host pauses for a moment before shoving back, to almost no avail. Chef's smile drops, and shoves the host forcefully to the ground.

"Being on this island wouldn't be so bad if Zoey was here." Mike sighs and puts his head in his hands. "I wish I would've told her about my multiple personalities, then maybe she'd be here right now."
(static)
"There is too much negative energy coming from everyone to give me a good reading on where camp is." Dawn sighs, looking down in shame. "I really haven't been able to help anyone here with my gifts, and it's frustrating." she grumbles, a pout coming to her lips.
(static)
"I really hope I don't contract a disease after getting this far in the competition." Dave puts a finger up, giving the camera a nervous look. "But the chances of that on an unknown island is extremely high!" he begins to chew his fingers nervously.
(static)
"Remind me to never sign up for another reality show again." Heather snips, arms folded in annoyance. "These people are all looneys!"

Mike and Dave rested on a nearby log, Dawn and Heather still wandering about. "I think I'm gonna go look for Zoey. She could be nearby!" he starts to get up, but Dave grabs his arm before he can make it far. "Wait! Shouldn't we wait here and wait for that search party you said was coming?"
"I need to find Zoey and bring her back so that we all can be rescued, not just us." he rips his hand away, and starts running away and offscreen from the group. "Zoeeeeeeyyyyy!"
Dave sighs, but says nothing as he sits back down. "Great, now we're all gonna separate, and the unknown diseases will kill us off one by one." he moans.
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Heather berates, hands on her hips and looking at Dave with anger. "I thought you were over your weird fear of germs." she continues, Daves head now in his hands.
The camera zooms out to show Dawn approaching the pair, a frown on her face. "He was, but the guilt of being the reason Jasmine went home has made his phobia resurface." the mystic explains, walking past Heather to sit by the normal boy. The camera zooms in on her as she puts a hand on his shoulder and glares at the Queen Bee. "You should go try and do what you do best. Win the challenge without us." she coldly tells Heather.
Cutting to Heather, she snorts before yelling at the sky. "Chris! I'm onto you! You better have a raft or something around here!"
xxx
(static)
"Oooohoooohoo, I'm so scared!" Chris mocking puts his hands up in front of his face, snickering all the while
(static)
xxx
"I'm going for a walk." she tells no one in particular, putting on her sunglasses and walking the opposite direction Mike had gone. Dawn watches the Queen Bee leave, and turns back to Dave who finally lifted his head as soon as Heather had left.
xxx
(static)
"Keep in mind, we were soaked, stranded, and didn't have any food." Heather explains, holding her sunglasses in one hand. "I just had to keep a cool head and find some sort of shelter." She gains a coy grin before continuing. "At least one of us can think ahead."
(static)
xxx
A dramatic piece of music plays as Heather emerges from behind a bush. Grinning, she lifts the sunglasses off her face. "Sure beats sleeping on the beach." The camera zooms out to reveal Heather standing close to a wooden treehouse. A ladder led up to a small porch, with a boarded up window next to a door.
xxx
(static)
"Okay. Stay calm." Zoey reassured herself, folding her hands together and taking deep breaths. "Ohhh, but what if I'm lost for good? I better see if I'm close to shore." As she finishes talking, a loud bump is heard from outside the outhouse confessional. Zoey flinches, but quickly recovers and gains a steely look.
(static)
xxx
The door slams open, and the Indie Chick's expression changes to one of relief. "Thank goodness I'm on shore!" she sighs, the camera zooming out to show the beach she had landed on. It looked extremely similar to the beach the others had washed up on with a little less foliage.
She walks inland, looking around in wonder. "Where am I? This definitely doesn't look like camp." she mutters, making her way further inland. The foliage grew thicker, making it harder for Zoey to continue. She brushes some hanging leaves out of her face, and stops as her eyes grow wide.
The camera zooms out, and a sharp note plays when a large T-Rex skeleton is revealed, bones lying motionless in the sand. "What the-?!" Zoey shouts, falling over and scrambling away from the bones. She races towards the beach, then skids to a stop before the shore. "Wait, how could a perfect T-Rex skeleton be on Wawanakwa?"
xxx
(static)
"I will take honors for putting that T-Rex skeleton there!" Chris grins, putting a hand on his head and laughing. "Did you see the look on her face?! That was worth every intern!" he chuckles and wipes his brow.
(static)

Heather stands proudly on the porch, hands on her hips as she surveys the landscape. "Not a bad view honestly." turning towards where she had come from. "If you're done consoling one another, I found us shelter!" she calls out, reaching for the door handle. As she opens the door, a skeleton drops from above, causing the girl to fall out of the tree in panic.
"Ugh!" she groans as she hits the floor, her eyes never leaving the treehouse as she scoots away. She bumps into something, and turns around only to see another monster sized skeleton on the beach.
"AaaaAAAAAAAhhhhh!" she screams, jumping away from the bones as Dave and Dawn emerge. His eyes wide, Dave passes out, while Dawn also looks very surprised. "Oh my, maybe we aren't near the island after all."
/
Zoey, now kneeling over a log, seems to be tying some string to a long stick. "There!" a smile on her face, she tightens the string around the wood. She proudly holds up her creations, and the camera zooms in on a makeshift bow. She picks up some wooden arrows and slides them into a makeshift grass quiver. Her brow the furrows, and she puts a hand on her chin in thought.
"Hmmm, now to find some food around here." she says aloud, now looking around for any source of food. The Indie Chicks eyes brighten, and the camera pans over to a large palm tree. It pans up and zooms in on some coconuts. "Perfect! Don't know how they got here, but I need the nutrients."
xxx
(static)
Chef sits in the confessional, the camera closely zoomed in on his face. "Can someone please explain to me why there are palm trees and coconuts up here?! We're in northern Ontario!" The shot zooms out, revealing Chris also in the confessional with the hulking man, a small frown on his face. "They were props left over from the Bigassic Park movie shoot."
Chef's eyebrows raised in confusion at the host's words. "What? We're on a budget!" Chris defends.
(static)
xxx
Zoey now sits underneath the palm tree, a pile of coconuts next to her. She takes a rock and smashes one of the fruits open, putting the half to her mouth and taking a long drink. "Ahhh, that was surprisingly refreshing!" she smiles, standing up and taking another look around. "I really better find some shelter."
As she walks away, a faint shout can be heard in the distance. She perks up, stopping in her tracks to listen closely for the sound. "Zoeeeyyy! Where are you?!" a voice can be heard shouting in the distance.
"Mike?" Zoey whispers, her eyes flashing with emotion. "M-Mike! I'm here!" she calls out, the camera cutting to the lanky boy. He pauses, hearing his name called out faintly. "Hang on! I'm coming!" he shouts, running towards the sound of the Indie Chicks voice.
/
The skeleton still hangs in front of the door, and a hand starts to shake it. "Wait a minute," the camera zooms out to reveal Heather, Dave, and Dawn on the porch, "this is just like when they sent us to Boney Island! They obviously wanna test our survival skills!" she turns away from the group and shakes a fist at the sky. "You can't scare me Chris!"
"Um, I hate to be the downer here, but we have NO FOOD AND NO WAY TO GET HOME!" Dave shouts angrily, the two girls surprised by his outburst. He coughs before continuing. "Sorry, I just don't do well in stressful situations. Especially when the producers aren't really the nicest or smartest people." he comments.
xxx
(static)
A stern looking Chris and a grinning Chef sit in the confessional once more. "I'm gonna let that comment pass." the host remarks, looking up at Chef, who immediately frowns and nods in agreement.
(static)
"I really just wanted to get away from both of them." Heather vents, giving the confessional camera a glare as she folds her hands. "And since Dawn can't even use her freaky powers cause of negative energy or whatever, I had no use for her."
(static)
"Maybe leaving the girls wasn't a smart move, but I'm not gonna stay and get jungle rot, or eczema…" Dave shudders before continuing. "Maybe if I can make a raft or find some food, I can get the others to join me."
(static)
"What is the universe trying to tell me?!" Dawn asks, bewildered. "Both Dave and Heather are behaving most irrational today. I hope it doesn't affect the natural energies any more than it already has, I can barely read everyone's aura! If things get worse, I won't be able to find a way home!"
(static)
xxx
All three teens still stand on the porch, Dave and Heather still debating. "Look, we need to get back to camp and get checked for all the possible diseases out here. I think splitting up and finding some food would help at least stave off an early death, and then we can build a raft..." he grumbles. "Fine. Then leave." Heather , walking inside the treehouse and slamming the door behind her.
/
Dave and Dawn jump down from the last rung, the Normal Boy giving the petite blonde a last look before he too wandered off. Dawn sighed, but didn't move from her spot. Instead, she settled under the treehouse, and got into the lotus position. She closed her eyes, and started to breathe slower.
(Fade to Commercial)
Zoey, now with her bow and a few arrows strapped around her back, moves through the brush looking rather frantic. "Mike?! Where are you!?" she calls out. The camera cuts to Mike, who also rushes frantically towards the redhead's now clear voice. "Zoey?! I'm here!" he calls out, and changes direction, moving faster and faster.
The camera cuts between the two, rapidly switching back and forth, zooming in closer and closer with each cut. Suddenly, it cuts to a small clearing in the tropical landscape. On both sides of the screen, leaves rustle, and the pair comes sprinting out of either side. They crash into one another, slamming to the ground with pained groans.
"Ohhhh, that hurt." Mike painfully rubs his head, then immediately shoots up once he realizes who he hit. "Zoey! Thank goodness you're okay!" He grabs the indie chick's arm and helps her up, the girl not saying anything in return. He looks down in happiness, but his brow furrows and his smile drops. "Hey, Zoey? Are you alri-" the camera cuts to a shot of the sky, a loud smack ringing through the air. The birds flew away, and the camera cuts back to the two below.
Mike looks shocked, a large red print now on his cheek. "How COULD you?!" Zoey yells, tears streaming down her face. "I thought you loved me! I thought you said I was special, that I was amazing!" she cries out, arms moving all over the place. "But I guess that Heather is more than I'll ever be huh. Smart, hot, athletic, rich, probably a good kisser…I mean of course you'd leave me for her!"
Mike watches in shock but says nothing as Zoey starts to punch him in his arm. "You mean, lying, cheating piece of shit!" she sobs, falling to her knees in front of the lanky boy. After a long pause , she continues. "T-thanks for finding me…b-but leave me alone. I can't take another cheating guy."
Mike, looking shaken, kneels down to the sobbing Zoey. "Look…I know I'm not the person you wanna see right now. I-I know I've done a lot of things to give you the wrong idea. I mean, I'd be surprised if you weren't this upset." he says nervously, Zoeys sobs still echoing through the jungle. Mike takes a deep breath. "I need to tell you something. Something important that I should've said forever ago."
/
Dave slowly wanders through the jungle, a look of hunger on his face. "Ohhhh, I wish I had something to eat." he groans, slowing his pace considerably.
A sudden rustling sends the boy jumping in fear, eyes wildly darting in every direction. "H-hello?"
Another rustle comes from a nearby bush, and the Normal Boy slowly reaches for something in his pocket. "Good thing I keep an extra can of disinfectant spray in my pants." he whispered, slowly approaching the bush.
He screams, ripping the leaves away and spraying wildly, eyes closed in fear. After a moment of absolute silence. He pauses, and the camera zooms out. Dave awkwardly stands next to a large pile of bananas and pineapples, the pieces closest to him now dripping with the chemicals.
/
A sweating Dave drags a sackful of fruit back to the treehouse, plopping it down next to him, and slumping to the ground. "Uhh, you okay?" Heather asks from above, the corner of her mouth twitching in a smile. "Yeah, yeah. Just found some food like I said we should." he says between breaths.
Heather shrugs, but slides down the ladder and joins the boy. "I'm surprised that you found this all in the forest." Dawn inquires as she pops up behind Heather, causing her to jump just as she reached for a banana.
"Stop doing that!" she berates, peeling the fruit and taking a bite. Her eyes pop, and she spits the piece out, hacking. "W-what the hell? Why does this taste so bad?" she coughs, pounding her chest in pain. "My bad.." Dave says from offscreen.
/
Mike takes another deep breath, and puts a hand on Zoey's shoulder. "You know how I have those…characters I practice?" the Indie Chick lifts her head up, sniffling. "What does t-that have to do with a-anything?" she asks, her breath shaky.
A long pause hangs in the air, Mike now shaking as well. "I-well.." he starts, balling his free fist. "I have multiple personalities!" he boldly shouts, Zoey giving him a confused look.
Mike looks almost relieved, but doesn't take long to continue on. "I have Dissociative Identity Disorder. All those times I was 'acting' or doing 'impressions', those were when my alters took over." he explains, hand tapping his head almost as if to get the point across.
Wiping her nose, she slowly stands up, pulling the boy up with him. "You mean when you.." Mike nods before she can even finish, taking his shirt off as if to hit home his reveal. He gasps, and his hair slicks back, a sly grin forming on his face
"Hey toots. I see that Mike finally manned up and told you about us now eh?" he says, folding his arms, Zoey watching with shock, the makeup around her eyes runny from the dried tears. She sniffles, but starts to smile. Vito gasps, and Mike returns, but holds out a finger. "I gotta make sure they all meet you properly." he gasps, and hunches over, continuing to reveal his biggest secret.
Mike also switches into Manitoba, pulling a hat out from seemingly thin air, and gives the girl a curt nod. Svetlana is the last to say her greetings, twirling around the girl with a happy cry. With each and every alter saying hello, the camera zooms in on Zoey's ever growing smile. Mike finally comes back, panting from 'switching' with his alter egos.
Cutting to a close up of the two, Zoey reaches down and brings the lanky teens hands up, a happy grin still on her face. "So, um…does this mean you don't like Heather?" she comments, Mike smiling softly at her words. "I've only ever had eyes for you, I just didn't want you to see me as some freak.."
His smile drops, and he hangs his head. "Oh, Mike…that just means there's more Mike to love!" She squeezes his hand, and Mike looks up, shocked and elated at her response. They begin to lean into one another, but a loud and piercing wail cuts through the air, the pair jumping in fright.
/
Cutting to a conch shell, the camera zooms out to reveal Chef and Chris at an unknown location , the hulking man lowering his cinch after another roar. "Brunch is served." he proclaims, waving a hand down to reveal a large assortment of food on a table.
"Ahh brunch. Such a refined meal dontcha think?" Chris rubs his stomach happily. "You've already digested your brekkie but, you're not quite ready for lunch." His eyes pop when he notices a bowl filled with a yellow sauce. "OOooohoo! Hollandaise!" he eagerly dips a finger and tastes the sauce. "You've outdone yourself Chef!"
Chef grins, bringing the conch shell to his lips and letting out one last wail.
/
The wail sounds over a shot of a panicked looking Heather who watched anxiously from the treehouse window. "That's probably just Chris trying to scare us with some fake monster sound."
Panning to the river near the treehouse, Dave and Dawn work on a raft, both tying some vine around different logs. "I'm really not gonna wanna stick around and find out." Dave quickly replies, working even faster after hearing the wail. "Are you certain this will work Dave?" Dawn pipes up, and the Normal Boy gives her an uncertain shrug. "I can't be sure."
"How confident of you…" Heather mutters, still watching from her window. "Are you gonna at least let me join you?" she shouts, meeting Dave's look. "Maybe. Are you ever going to share your shelter?" he slyly counters.
/
Mike and Zoey walk back towards the others, the Indie Chick latched onto Mike's arm as they talk. "Wait, so Heather was blackmailing you?!" she gasps. The lanky boy nods somberly. "It was horrible. I felt like I was trapped in a cage for a long time."
Zoey frowns deeply, humming in thought. "Can we vote her off today?"
Mike shrugs. "It's possible, but if this is a challenge, there could be invincibility involved. And knowing Heather, she'll do anything to get it."
They finally make their way out into another small clearing, pieces of fruit lying all over the place. "Looks like one of the others was here..I hope." Mike gulps, Zoey looking around at the ground.
Her eyes spot something nearly hidden behind a bush. She sets her bow down and rushes forward to inspect the object. "Hey, look! The camera zooms in on the bush, the Indie Chicks arms grabbing and pulling out a large, spotted egg. "What laid this?" She pulls it close, and Mike shouts her name from offscreen. "Coming!" she yells, tucking the egg under her arm and taking off. Unbeknownst to her, a large shadow follows not far behind, an ominous tune playing as the creature lets out a piercing cry.
/
Dave and Dawn sit on a raft, the Normal Boy panting and sweating as he rows the makeshift raft out into the water. "Are you sure that leaving Heather behind was a good plan?" Dave questions, still grunting as he plunges the makeshift paddle into the water. Dawn says nothing as she looks out into the distance, turning to make brief eye contact.
"Perhaps, but she also needs to greet our soon arriving friends." she explains, Dave perking up at her words. "You mean the search party?"
Dawn shakes her head. "No, our real friends." the camera quickly cuts back to the beach, where Heather grumbles on the beach. "Stupid plan, why do I have to wait for the others.."

"I've never been more scared in my entire life!" Heather says in a shaky voice. "They left me on the island to die! I had to draw on inner strength I didn't know I even had." she folds her hands together and puts on a smile. "Lindsay, Ella, if you see this tape…BFF's forever!"

An upbeat tropical tune plays over a shot of the crew tent, Chef banging on a drum in the background. In the main focus of the camera, a limbo pole sits on two pieces of notched logs, Chris making his way towards the said pole. "Ahh, fun in the great outdoors. Too bad the interns are missing this." Chris muses as he bends backwards to make it under the pole. "We should send them a picture of this!" he laughs as he makes another pass. "Good times."

Zoey and Mike finally reach another clearing, this time it opens up to a wide area full of sand. Panning down to the other side of the clearing, Heather can be seen sitting grumpily on the end of the porch, legs dangling over the edge.
The camera cuts back to the pair as they gain wide smiles. "That's the group. HEY!" Mike waves frantically, him and Zoey rushing towards the group. Heather turns and looks surprised to see the two, but gasps as she notices something else behind them. A suspenseful and ominous tune began, and a loud shriek echoed throughout the clearing.
A large shadow passes over into sight, and the camera pans up to reveal an ancient ptero-goose, its beady red eyes glued to Mike and Zoey.
"RUUUUUUNNN!" Mike shouts, wrenching the Indie Chick from her gawking stare, and the two take off running towards the shelter. The camera cuts up to show the large creature letting out another enraged roar before swooping down towards them.
Cutting back to the pair, they both look back just in time to see the birds feet reaching towards them, talons glinting in the sun. They both scream and dive down, sand spraying everywhere as the bird flies back upwards, preparing to make another pass.
"Do you think it wants the egg?!" Mike asks in a panicked voice. He frantically looks around for the unborn ptera-goose, and the camera zooms in rapidly on the egg. "I got it!" the lanky boy shouts, rushing towards the egg, Zoey gasping in alarm. "Mike! Wait!"
Picking up the egg, he looks up and the camera changes to a point of view. Racing towards him was the ancient creature. Cutting back to a normal shot, he screams as the bird take a hold of Mike's shirt with its talons, lifting the boy up and into the air. "Mike!" Zoey shouts from the ground, the boy screaming in reply.

A classy renaissance tune begins to play as Chris and Chef sit around a coffee brewer, both with mugs in their hands. "So Chef, how do you think our campers are doing on their…deserted island?" the host asks with a smile.
"Anything coulda happened to 'em by now." Chef replies with a grin of his own. "Mauled by bears, fell off a cliff, starved to death.." the camera zooms in on a now frowning Chris, who sets his coffee down to think.
"Hmm. Maybe I should check the monitors to see what kinda footage we got." As soon as he finishes talking, Chef swoops in and brings the host into his arms. "Chris man, you are one dedicated host." he compliments, rocking the man back and forth like a baby. "You're an inspiration!"
"Thanks dude. It's what I do." Chris happily replies.
/
Dave and Dawn still sit on their raft, the Normal Boy rapidly rowing towards the shore as they watch the scene unfold. "What the heck?! What is THAT thing doing here?!" Dave shouts in shock. Dawn also has a look of shock on her face. "I do not know…but it means we have not left Wawanakwa waters!"
/
"Zoeyyyyy!" Mike shouts, still being lifted into the air. Zoey desperately looks for something to help grab Mike and rescue him. "Hey! Take this!" a voice shouts. Cutting back to the shore, Dave and Dawn heave some excess rope towards the Indie Chick, who catches it and quickly gets to work.
Grabbing an arrow from her quiver, she snaps it in half, and ties the rope onto the arrow. "Mike! Grab on!" she shouts, notching her arrow and closing one eye. She moves her bow up and down, measuring the angle before releasing the arrow with a twang.
The arrow zooms up towards the bird, Mike happily reaching for the object. His smile immediately drops when the arrow passes him and instead smacks into the ptera-goose, which cries out in pain. It releases Mike from its clutches, and the camera follows Mike as he falls.
The lanky boy flailing and screaming as he descends. He hits the sand with a loud thud, a groan coming from Mike. Zoey looks at her bow with concern, throwing the weapon away and rushing towards the teen. "Mike! Hey! Are you okay?"
Dawn and Dave also rush towards the still face down teen, Zoey giving Dawn a fearful look. "Is he-" Dawn shakes her head and smiles. "He'll be fine."
The Indie Chick sighs in relief. "Oh thank goodness."
"Was shooting the bird and Mike free falling part of the plan?" Dave questions, his eyebrow raised.
Before Zoey can reply, another loud cry could be heard, and the ancient goose spirals towards the treehouse. Heather screams and jumps from the porch, just as the creature smashes into the wooden structure. It splinters into pieces, and the tree crashes to the ground with a loud boom.
Mike finally begins to push himself up, slowly rising to his feet and brushing off his sandy shirt. "Is everyone okay?" he asks, only to see the others gaping at the ruined shelter. The wreckage rumbles before the giant goose emerges. It roars once more, then waddles away, its wings damaged from the impact. Zoey whimpers, the Indie Chick looking ashamed.
Before anyone could say anything more, a giant purple snake lands on the four campers shoulders, hissing angrily. "Seriously?!" Dave protests, the others watching the serpent with wide eyes. "Quick! Hide in the wreckage!" Dawn shouts.
/
"Did you really have to destroy our only shelter?!" Heather shouts in frustration. "We could risk having our flesh fall off from the snake's poison!" Dave fearfully adds. The others stop staring from behind the wreckage and turn to the Normal Boy, who awkwardly shrugs. "What?"
"Come on, let's head inside what's left of the shelter and wait it out." Zoey motions with her arm.
/
The camera follows the teens inside the wrecked treehouse, the upper half ripped from the structure. The beds were sprawled all over the ruined cabin, sand and branches added to the spaces' wrecked feel. The five teens sit down in the sand, looking solemn.
"So how long do you think it'll stick around?" Mike asks the group. Dawn was quick to respond. "I can still sense the snake's aura out in front of the wreckage, and it does not seem happy." the Moonchild warns the others. Dave sighs but nods in understanding.
"Sooo…how do we wanna pass the time? I could tell everyone a secret." Mike offers, and the others look around before shrugging. "What the heck. I've got nothing else to do." Dave replies, and Mike grins.
/
"Wow, I never would've guessed that you that whole thing started Zoey." Dave wonders aloud, the aforementioned girl nodding. "Well, I'm more surprised about what Heather did during prom!" she remarks, the camera cutting to Heather who rolls her eyes.
"Okay, I may have gone a little extreme with the fire ants and wasps, but I still find it hard to believe you set the second biggest fire in Canadian history over a goldfish." the Queen Bee shoots back. Zoey blushes but says nothing.
"Um, are we forgetting about Dawn's secret, about how she got her powers?!" Dave counters again.
"Or yours! No wonder you have a fear of germs." Zoey offers with an empathetic look.
"I'm just happy you all know about my disorder now." Mike sighs in contentment. The others all look at one another and nod.
"To be fair, Heather and I both had a pretty good idea, and I guess Dawn could sense your other alters." Dave mentions. He then exhales and lays down, arms behind his head. "Y'know…it's kinda nice in here.
No snakes, giant ancient geese, just the five of us." No sooner than he had finished his sentence a spider had begun to drop from above, the arachnid landing right on the Normal Boys face.
His eyes pop open, and he screams. "SPIDER! Spider Spider Spider Spider!" he wails, running around in a panic as the others watch with amusement, annoyance, or confusion.
He runs towards the end of the tree, the boy still screaming and flailing. The spider jumps off, and Dave calms down enough to look out into the distance. "Hey! I see something!" he shouts back to the group.
The other four rush out to the end of the tree and notice the same thing Dave had. "Look! Smoke!" Zoey shouts. The camera quickly cuts to the horizon, a large plume of smoke rising in the distance. "Or another trick courtesy of Chris." Heather sneers, but Dawn shakes her head.
"No. It's them. Ever since we confessed some of our biggest secrets, my connection to Mother Earth has been rejuvenated. "All the natural energy is flowing towards that spot, so it has to be them."
"Only one problem." Heather counters. "A giant python!" she motions towards the snake, which slithers outside the tree roots. "Oh, I can ask him to leave." the Moonchild casually mentions. "Hello? Snake? Could you please grant us passage?" she calls out.
The snake turns, sticks out its forked tongue, and slithers away without a second thought.
"Are you kidding? Why didn't you do that forever ago?" Mike gapes. Dawn shrugs before answering. "Simple. I needed you all to have less negative energy so I could focus on the natural energies of the earth." The other four frown but say nothing. "Alright everyone, let's go!" Zoey shouts.
/
The five teens race through the forest, leaves and brush crunching under their feet. "We're almost there friends!" Dawn shouts, the others picking up the pace at her words. After what felt like forever, they burst into a clearing right in front of Chef. The hulking man jumps in fright, landing in a smiling Chris' arms.
"Hey guys! It's about time you all got here!" he grins, Chef jumping down and looking rather embarrassed. "Wh-where are we?" Dave asks, the others also looking rather confused. "It's our secret production-crew location!" he proudly announces, putting his hands on his hips as the camera pans over the area.
A large tent sat in the middle of the area, several motorhomes were parked around it. In the background was Chris' personal helicopter, and a large table filled with food sat close to the camera. A grizzly bear picked up a sandwich and looked rather confused as to what he was holding.
"Or was a secret…until now." the host throws his hands up in frustration. "But, what about the giant prehistoric goose?" Dave questions. "Or the T-Rex skull?" Zoey adds. Chris and Chef laugh. "Oh those? They were from an old film being shot on that part of the isl-"
"Wait," Heather interrupts, "so you mean to tell us that while we shipwrecked, you were basking in luxury a mere one-hundred feet away?!" As she berates Chris, a torrent of rain begins to pour down, and the camera cuts to the frowning host and cook.
He quickly follows Chef inside the trailer they were previously standing in front of, and looks back at the campers with a sly grin. "Yes Heather, that would be accurate. Sorry, I would invite you in, but there's only room for seven." he snickers, then waves. "See you at the campfire tonight!" He slams the door shut, the cast gaping as thunder rumbles in the distance.
/
The usual intense theme of the campfire ceremony begins, the camera showing the island in its full glory. Cutting to the campfire pit, Chris smiles from behind his oil drum. "Weeeeeeell, it's been a grueling day for me. Chef and I are worn out!" He raises a finger and continues.
"I hope you learned two valuable lessons today. First, make sure your cabins are securely fastened to the ground." the host puts his hands on his hips and continues. "And second, stealing wildeggs is stupid. You should never take an egg from its spot in the woods."
"Can you get on with it?" Heather huffs folds her arms. Chris frowns but gains back his smile. "As you all know, only four marshmallows are on this plate." the camera quickly cuts to a close up of the plate, the gooey treats glowing red in the campfire's light.
"So, after a fun filled day of geese, confessions, and paranoid germaphobia, it's time to send one of you home." the host announces, the camera cutting to the five nervous looking campers.
"Dawn, you're the only one that is guaranteed safe. Nice work out there." Chris applauds, tossing the mystic her marshmallow. "Mike, you're safe too dude." The lanky boy catches his treat and tosses it into his mouth in one quick motion.
"Dave, even though you're really starting to freak me out with your fear of germs, you're moving on."
Zoey and Heather gain extremely nervous looks. Cutting back to Chris, he holds the last marshmallow in his hand with a serious expression. "Zoey, Heather. One of you is going home tonight." The music picks up, the camera switching between a closeup of the two girls, both looking more nervous with every shot.
The music peaks, and Chris tosses the final treat. The camera follows the marshmallow, and it lands in Heather's lap. "Zoey. You shot an endangered species, ruined your teams shelter, and emotionally bullied Mike." Chris shakes his head. "Time for the dock of shame."
Mike stands up to protest, but Zoey grabs his arm, and gives the boy a big hug. "Mike, it's okay. I'm honestly happy I got this far. Plus, I met some awesome people, and I met you." Both her and Mike blush deeply, the Indie Chick reaching for his hands. "You better beat that cheating manipulator Heather and win this thing!" she smiles, and begins to lean in for a kiss.
But before either of them can make it far, Chris grabs the redhead. "We're kinda on a schedule here!" He interrupts as the pair sighs but separates.
/
On the dock of shame, Zoey gives Dawn a hug. "I'll miss you Dawn. You got this." she confidently tells the girl. The mystic sniffs and nods, but says nothing. Dave also stands on the dock, looking rather awkward. "See ya Dave! I hope you get over your fear of germs!" She shouts, hopping onto the boat of losers. "Yeah! You too! Wait…" Dave pauses and smacks himself, Zoey giggling at his slip up.
"Wait, Zoey!" Mike shouts as he runs down the dock of shame. "I totally forgot I wanted to give you this." he holds out a closed hand, and opens it to reveal a golden medallion, a string attached to the coin. "I made this for you. I've had this medallion from my grandpa for a while, and he told me to only give it to someone special." he smiles, and drops it into Zoeys waiting hands.
"Oh Mike! I love it!" she says, putting the necklace on. "I'll never take it off." she smiles, just as the boat revs up. "I'll miss you!" Mike shouts, Zoey waving back with a solemn expression.
/
"Well, that was an exciting episode!" Chris comments, sitting on the dock after the others had walked away. "We're down to our final four competitors! Wanna see what happens next?" he stands up and raises his arms in dramatic fashion, the closing theme beginning. "Come back next week to another wild episode of…Total…Drama…Island!" he exclaims, the camera zooming out with every word.

Oh my goodness, this chapter took forever to write. I rewrote it like three times, finally coming up with a credible reason to kick Zoey off instead of Heather. I apologize for the extra long wait. Okay so big things, Mike has FINALLY revealed his secret to the others, and more importantly Zoey! I had such a good time writing that scene in particular. I wanted to make it emotional but with a bit of humor and showing off each alter/personality. Speaking of Zoey, Zoey is gone! NOOOOOOO :( Her and Mike are some of my favorite characters, but her time on the island is done. As for the whole goose crashing into the treehouse thing, I thought it was a fun twist on the whole disaster before bonding scenario. BUT…we are down to the final FOUR! I'm interested to see who you all think will be in the final three now that Zoey's gone. Stay tuned!
