Hey guys, Andrew78591, is back with the newest chapter of Empire's Doomsday. Sorry for the wait but one of my fanfics took me way longer to finish than it should. But enough about that, in this one, all of you will get to see Esdeath finally confront and fight Doomsday. A lot of you are excited to see this and I hope I deliver. Anyway, before we get started, let's answers some questions and read out 4 random suggestions.

I wanted to ask a question about Doomday, which is as the story progresses will he, Doomday, evolve or grow because apparently, Doomsday wasn't even an adult by the time he "killed" Superman?

Um, yeah, Doomsday will absolutely evolve in this story. In fact, Doomsday is here has constantly evolved and gained new powers like gaining the ability to breathe fire, conduct electricity, or the ability to reflect lasers.

One comment, written in Spanish, asked why I don't use the Doomsday Virus? The same one that turned a version of Batman into Devastatior.

I kinda forget about the Doomaday Virus and I'm already too far into the story to really include since it's close to the finale. Even if I did remember, I won't feel like including it.

Which version of doomsday are you using?

I already answered this question but I'll repeat it again. I'm pretty using a combination of Doomsdays from the comics with the animated versions, both cartoon and movies.

Crossover of Black Butler and akame ga kill crossover fanfic. OC female named Claire Blackwood summon a demonic being named Sebastian Michaelis as her butler to a exact revenge against the people that her wrong her and her family pairings include. Female OC x Tatsumi.

Not into this idea. That and I generally don't like using OC's unless I feel like it's necessary. This story feels like it doesn't need it.

Godzilla Earth, King Ghidorah, or both from the Anime Trilogy being transported to the Akame Ga Kill! Universe during their battle at Godzilla: The Planet Eater movie.

I really like the idea of this one but I feel I can't do it justice as I've never seen Godzilla Earth and haven't really seen any Godzilla movie other than the 2014. Sorry man.

Imperfect Cell in the world of Akame ga kill.

I'm planning on this one exactly. Though I feel like it's going to just be Imperfect Cell since he can only achieve his perfect form by absorbing the androids(technically cyborgs)

Could DOOMSDAY Survive Dooms Hell Invasion(DOOM ETERNAL)

Not really into the idea, but I am planning on using Doomslayer in a vs battle. With all that out of the way, let's get this chapter started. Aaaaaaaannnnnnnd begin.

Northern Area of the Capital

Back in the northern area, everything was still in a state of chaos. Buildings destroyed, fire everywhere, and the smell of blood, decay, and smoke filled the air. There was no there as it had become a ghost town at this point. But then, a lOParge shattering sound was made in the middle of the area as pieces of ice rained from the sky and fall to the ground. In the middle of the ice shard rain, we see the ice general, Esdeath, smiling in glee as she was summoning multiple icicles around. Her target was Doomsday as the beast was smashing a couple of her ice soldiers.

"Weissschnabel!" she yelled out as the icicles were launched at their target. Doomsday was bombarded ad the icicles hit it from the upper body to the face. Despite that, it did nothing to hurt the Ultimate. Only really annoying it. So the monster charged at Esdeath with its arms up to crush the woman. But the general reacted fast and moved to the right, avoiding the attack. Then the ice general retaliated by summoning a spear of ice as it rammed the Walking War Machine a good distance into a building.

"This danger beast is indeed impressive," she monologued to herself as she commanded more of her ice soldiers to attack the monster. "The fact that it's still standing even after taking my stronger attacks proves that this danger beast is much stronger than any other I've hunted down. In fact, unlike other danger beasts, this one is actually giving me a challenge."

The thought of that made Esdeath smile in sadistic glee as she creates an ice rapier in her hand. "Finally, a strong opponent that has managed to not only damaged me, but is pushing me to use more of my power. This is what I always wanted."

Just then, a torrent of fire came out from the building, burning everything in her direction. Luckily for her, Esdeath was quick to react as she covered her arms and legs in ice and used them to fly her high into the sky, evading the fire. While she escapes, her ice golems were not lucky as they were reduced to steam in under a second. As Esdeath levitated in the air, she saw Doomsday appear our from the flames and looked at her with blood lust and rage in its eyes, as the beast grew some large bone claws on its arms.

"Though I do have to be more cautious now considering the beast destroy all my ice golems," she said to herself in disappointment until it changed back to her sadistic smile. "But I didn't need them anymore. Now that most of the people in this city are dead, I can now have the monster focus on me and only me. So danger beast, prepare to not only for the fight of your life..."

Doomsday then jumps into the air, towards the ice general with its claws ready. Esdeath responded by summoning multiple icicles around her.

"But to become my trophy."

Lubbock's Bookstore

Back at the bookstore, everyone was just sitting there as they waited. Waiting for not only for Tyler to come back with reinforcements, but to see how Tatsumi was doing. As soon as they all arrived there, Twiggs immediately got to work as he and a few soldiers began to treat his wounds. The entire atmosphere was quiet as they were waiting, worrying about Tatsumi's condition and seeing if he'll make it. They all tried to occupy themselves as Najenda was looking over the unconscious Kurome whole smoking a big cigar, Leone was drinking whatever alcohol she can find, and Chelsea was trying to read whatever book was around.

Keyword being trying as the auburn-haired assassin was having a hard time getting her mind on something without thinking about Tatsumi. Knowing this, Chelsea tossed the book away as she began to think about whether or not Tatsumi will be alright.

'Damn it, Tatsumi. You've been making me worry right now. From you and Wave sneaking away to fight Doomsday to getting yourself this injured, you're making me deal with so many emotions! I just want to smack you in the back of your head for making me go through all this!' she said to herself in her head in anger and annoyance. But then all the emotion was gone and replaced with sadness and concern. 'Damn you, Tatsumi, for making me have feelings for you,' she said as her cheeks turned red. "Please be okay."

And just like that, Twiggs comes back up from the underground lair as he was cleaning off some blood on his hands. Everyone immediately stopped what they were doing and surrounded him. "Twiggs. how's Tatsumi? Is he going to be okay?" Najenda asked as the other two Nightraid members waited for his answer.

Twiggs gave a reassuring smile as he said, "Don't worry all of you. Tatsumi will be alright. It took us a while but we managed to stop the bleeding and fix his injuries. All he needs now is rest."

Hearing that, everyone let out a sigh of relief. Though Chelsea looked more relieved then the others. Looking more relaxed but also exhausted at the same as the lollipop girl sat down on a stack of books. "Thank god," she uttered in relief.

Seeing this, Leone began to giggle delight as she began to tease her. "Looks like someone's really glad that her crush is alive."

Chelsea looked at Leone with her narrow eyes, showing some annoyance to the yellow-haired assassin. "Don't tempt me, Leone. I'm fucking tired after everything that's happened today. Besides, at this point, my feelings towards him are obvious."

"We know, but it's funny seeing your reaction when I found out about your crush on Tatsumi," Leone mocked her with delight.

"Oh shut up," Chelsea replied back.

"Enough you two," Najenda said to the two as she faced back to Twiggs. "How long will Tatsumi be sleeping?"

"While he didn't suffer any life-threatening injuries, the boy used up a lot of energy in his fight. It'll be a while before he finally wakes up. As of now, he's out of commission."

"I expected that would be the case. While I would have wanted Tatsumi to help us in our time of need, he's done enough. Now we just have to wait until Tyler comes back," Najenda said.

"That's all we can do at this point," Twiggs sighed.

Just then, the unconscious Kurome began to move as she was about to wake up. The young girl sat up as her eyes slowly began to open up. Once she was fully awake, Kurome looked around to see where she was.

"Kurome, it's good that you're awake. How are you feeling?" Najenda said as she moved by her side.

Before she could speak, Kurome groaned in pain due to the pain felt in her stomach. "Aside from this pain I'm feeling, I'll be fine," she said as he continued to look around the room. "More importantly, where's Wave?"

That question brought silence to the entire group as they knew that this would happen. But it would be difficult to tell her the truth. Everyone was quiet for a bit until Najenda finally spoke up. "Kurome, I hate to tell you this, but Wave's stayed behind to fight Doomsday. He sacrificed himself so we could all escape."

The moment those words entered her mind, Kurome's entire world began to fall apart. Her face showed sadness as tears flowed out of her eyes. Knowing that the two people, Akame and Wave, she loved and cherished, the most important family in her life are dead, it caused her heavily cry. Kurome weep loudly as she let all the sadness and frustration. This went on for a while until Leone decided to speak up.

"Kurome, I know it's hard to deal with this but you have to put those feelings aside comsidering-"

"I don't want to hear it! Especially from someone like you," Kurome shouted in anger, interrupting and spooking Leone.

"Especially since this is all your fault! Out of everyone here, you're the only one in top-shape and a working teigu. Yet you don't do jack shit! It's because of you I lost the only people I truly loved and cared about because of you! It's because of you that we lost so many of us!"

Leone stood quietly as she absorbed Kurome's rage-filled rant before her expression changed to her own anger. Like Leone wasn't to take anything of this as she argued back.

"No. No! Fuck you! I'm not taking any of this bullshit!" Leone yelled back, surprising Kurome, making her silent. "I admit that I could of done more to help out but didn't because of my fears. I can even that I could of done something to save a few like Lubbock but didn't. However, I will not stand here and take your bullshit! The bullshit that I'm responsible for everyone's death!"

"Whether I was there or not, they all would of still die by that monster! Hell, everyone of us knew the risks of fighting Doomsday yet we still did went on fight the damn thing. Why, because we all decided to take the responsibility to kill it so that no one else has to suffer. Akame and Wave were doing just that. So don't pin all this blame on me!"

"Also, get off that fucking high horse of yours! Stop pretending you're the only one suffering! You're not the only one who's lost someone because of the monster! Everyone here lost someone they cared about and know they won't be coming back! It's the worst feeling to go through, but we value the lives our love ones had, we have to move on. It sucks but that's life!"

Everything became quiet by the sudden rage filled rant with only the sound of heavy breathing being made by Leone. Everyone was surprised by the yellow-haired assassin going off like that and letting her frustration out. In fact, this was probably the first since her PTSD that Leone expressed full on anger. Kurome was the most shocked by all this as she did think Leone would explode and rant like that. Even weirder then that, the rant actually helped get her mind straight. As much as she wanted to deny it, the Nightraid member is right.

In this kind of work, Kurome should of known that death would be common and anyone, no matter how skilled they were, were going to die. She knew this was always the case with her, Akame, Wave, and everyone else she had know in the past. She knew that yet still hated it. She hated seeing her friends and love ones die. She was tired of dealing with that. At that point, the black eyed girl stood silent as she continues to grief.

The room and atmosphere began quite once more. As everyone there was absorbing the everything they had just witnessed and heard. Though eventually, Najenda broke the silence and spoke up.

"I know it seems inappropriate to bring up now, but we have to put this aside for now and focus on the problem at hand."

"Doomsday, right?" Chelsea asked, figuring out the obvious

"Yes, we still need to figure what we're going to do against that beast," Najenda said. "We need a new plan to deal with our current situation."

"What's the point?"

Najenda and everyone were surprised to hear this as they look at Kurome, the one that had spoken up. "I mean, at this point, its obvious that we lost."

"We don't know that. There could be a way to-"

"Don't you even start with that!" Kurome shouted at Najenda, interrupting her, as she continued her rant. "It's fucking obvious at this point that we can't do jack shit against the monster! Every method, all our plans, our strongest allies and attacks barely even scratch it! So what's the point of even trying?!"

"Kurome, I know things right now aren't looking good. But we have to do something or else all life as we know it is going to die," Najenda argued.

"Oh really now? Unless I missed something, what plan do you have that could actually give us a fighting against it? Because I'd love to hear it," Kurome demanded, waiting for the Nightraid leader's answer.

Najenda was about to answer her and tell the girl her plan. But she didn't say anything. Because she didn't have a plan. After witnessing the things this monstrosity can endure, Najenda was pretty much stomped on what to do. Even if they got reinforcements, it wouldn't do much for them. As much as Najenda hated to admit it, they were pretty much screwed.

"Pff, that's what I thought," Kurome spoke out, expecting this.

"Najenda, if I may?" Twiggs spoke out, getting her attention. "While I don't want to admit it, but she's right, we're basically sitting ducks at this point. Nothing we've done has harmed the creature in anyway. Right now, I fear for the worst." Those words really hit Najenda as she knew he was right.

"So, are we going to just sit around and do nothing while we wait for that thing to kill us?" Chelsea complained. "There's got to be something. Anything that can help us in our time of need."

"If it's a plan you guys need, I got something in mind."

Everyone was spooked by the sudden voice as they turned the source of it. To their astonishment, at the entrance of the bookstore, is the user of Spectator, Tyler.

"Tyler!" Twiggs yelled happily as walked towards and gave him a hug. "It's good to see again my friend."

"Same with you, general," Tyler replied happily. "You look like hammer shit."

"Pff, smart ass."

After they had their reunion, Tyler joined the remaining group. "From the looks of things, I say there's a lot I missed," he asked, reading the atmosphere.

"Oh yeah, definitely," Leone answered.

After a massive explanation of the events with their fight with Doomsday when he was gone, Tyler was very much shocked and sadden by what he was told. "Damn, you guys have really went through hell this past hour," Tyler commented by the craziness he heard.

"You have no idea," Leone groaned, agreeing with him.

"And from what heard, you guys don't have a plan," he said.

"Not at all," Najenda admitted.

"Speaking of plans, Tyler. Did you get the reinforcements at the campsite near us?" Twiggs asked.

Hearing that made Tyler's face darkened, indicating that what he was about to say was bad news. "They won't be coming, cause they were all killed."

"What?!" Twiggs shouted in shock. "Were they killed by Doomsday?!"

"Worse, they were killed by Esdeath."

That sentence alone was enough to shock everyone in the room. They did expect to hear something like this. To hear Esdeath of all people doing something like this during this dire situation was crazy.

"Are you sure it was her?" Najenda asked, wanting to be fully sure.

"They were all killed by some form of ice, ot should be obvious," Tyler answered, shaking Najenda to the core from what she hearing. "If you think that's bad, half of the people killed at the camp were Revolutionary soldiers while the other half were soldiers from from her army."

"The hell? Why would she do something like that?" Twiggs asked, just as shocked as Najenda is from hearing this.

"Because she wants to fight that monstrosity," Kurome spoke out, getting Najenda's attention. "It should be obvious. I've work with Esdeath long enough to know her. The one thing she craves for is a fight that pushes her and satisfies her bloodlust. Esdeath will do anything to allow her to experience an exciting battle. Even if she has to get her get her hands dirty. You should know her enough that she would do something like that."

"Damn it," Najenda growled in frustration, gripping her metal hand. "Why must she always make things worse?"

"Because all she cares about is war, torture, and bloodlust. Everything else is insignificant," Twiggs said, summing up the Ice General.

"I really wish Doomsday would just kill her. I'm pretty sure no one here is going to miss her," Chelsea groaned.

"You and me both," Leone commented.

"Okay, so what the hell are we suppose to do, considering we lost are only means of reinforcements?" Kurome asked, frustrated by all this.

"Luckily for us, despite our luck, I managed to find something that could give us a chance to kill the monster once and for all," Tyler said with confidence.

"Wait really? Well, what is it?" Twiggs asked, wanting to know.

However, Tyler was quiet at that moment as what he wanted to say would be hard to explain. More like be hard for them to understand. This silence went on for a while until the Spectator user suddenly walked towards the front entrance of the library and grabbed the door's handle. This confused everyone in the room until Tyler finally spoke with a look of worry and seriousness.

"What I'm about to tell you all here is something that I'm sure that anyone would agree on. I know I didn't at first. But this is the only option we have at this point. So please try to understand what I'm going to do and not overreact."

The group taken a back by Tyler's sudden serious tone of this. His plan must be that crucial to make sure they didn't do anything that would jeopardize the whole thing. "If you say so...but what is it that you have that would make us overreact?"

Tyler didn't say anything as he decided to show them. He opened the door and poked his head out. "Okay, you can come in now." With that said, Tyler fully opened the door to let that someone in. Everyone was quiet at that as they looked at the entrance to see this person Tyler was referring to. When the person came into view, everyone had a look of shock by who the person was. Wheeling herself inside was Dorothea, still on her wheelchair, looking pissed off.

"About fucking time. It was getting awkward and boring being out there by myself," Dorothea grumbled.

"Yeah, sorry about that. I got too into my conversation with them and I missed the time," Tyler replied, apologizing.

"You better be," she spoke back.

"Tyler!" Twiggs shouted as he and everyone else prepared themselves against the alchemist. "What is she doing here?!"

"Hey, I said not to overreact!" he shouted back. defending Dorothea. "To answer your question, she's the person that'll help us kill Doomsday."

"Are you for real?! That's the alchemist bitch that worked in Wild Hunt! We can't trust her. For all we know, she could be trying to kill us for her sick game!"

"Oh yeah, I'm soooooo going to kill everyone here. I'm not going to let my broken leg and lack of teigu on me stop me. I'm such a massive threat," Dorothea said sarcastically.

"Still, why would you bring her of all people here?" Najenda said, demanding to know.

"Sigh, look. I wasn't keen on this either. In fact, I wanted to kill her the moment I saw her," Tyler admitted.

"So what changed, why did you bring her here?" Chelsea asked.

"Because, I wanted to come here. Because I have something that can help us kill Doomsday," Dorothea spoke out. That definitely got everyone's attention as they looked her with shock and confusion.

"What do you mean by that?" Najenda asked, deciding to play along with this nonsense.

Tyler moved Dorothea until she was close enough to everyone in the room. She then put her hand into her dress pocket, pulling out an object. More of a weapon. The group were taken a back to see that Dorothea had pulled out her special grenade. An oval grenade the size of a mango fruit.

"A grenade?" Kurome said, thinking this is joke. "You think that small grenade is going do something to that monster? Where hundreds of our explosives and cannons couldn't do anything against the beast, your grenade can?"

"Tell me, how the fuck is that pathetic weapon going to kill Doomsday once and for all!" Kurome shouted angrily. The black eyed assassin was breathing heavily from her yelling and Dorothea waited for her to be done. Once Kurome was done, the alchemist explained herself.

"Look, this may look like an ordinary grenade but it's not. While it's made similarly like any other grenade, I added in other chemicals to increase its power." Saying that, everyone paid close attention as to what Dorothea is going to say. "By mixing together blood, acid, and other deadly chemical properties from danger beasts I've encountered and studied, I've created an acidic and explosion substance. A substance so powerful that it destroys its targets on a cellular level."

"What? I don't get it. What do you mean by destroy by a cellular level?" Leone asked.

Dorothea looked at her with dumbfounded look as she shook her head. "Okay, to put it into words that even an idiot like you can understand, the explosion and acid in here can kill around a hundred cells in seconds. Even regeneration can't save you from this."

"Fuck you," Leone growled by the insult.

"My god, it's that powerful," Najenda commented by hearing what this weapon can do. "To think that you were able to create something like that."

"Though I assume you were going to use it against us, weren't you?" Twiggs said, with hostility.

"Probably, but it was unlikely," Dorothea answered.

"What do you mean by that?" Chelsea asked.

"Simple, this idea was in the back-burner like most of my other experimental plans I had in mind. I could never get that formula right and I had other projects I had to work on. Hell, Doomsday is the only reason I went back to this plan," Dorothea explained herself.

"Well, that makes sense. But why are you helping us? Hell, why should we trust you on something like this? Crippled or not, you could be up to something that would only benefit yourself. That's the kind of person you are," Twiggs questioned, waiting for her answer.

Dorothea was quiet at that moment, letting those questions flow into her head, until she finally came to her answer. "Look, I get that none of you trust me. Hell, I'm not here to gain your trust since I know I'll never get it. I came here because you all are the only ones that can help me accomplish my single goal right now. The goal being killing this monster once and for all. As long as that's done, I'm fine with whatever punishment you want to give me. This is all I ask."

Everyone was taken back by what Dorothea had said to them. To think this person who would do anything for her own selfish goals, is willing to work with the Revolutionary Army. Even more crazy that she was willing to turn herself in to complete her goal. It was almost unbelievable to them.

"I know you all exactly don't believe it, but she's honestly telling the truth," Tyler said, coming to the alchemist's support. "She really does want to kill this monster. There's no secret plan she has or anything like that."

"Sigh, while I'm not into the idea of allowing this woman to help us, if you say that her intentions are true, then I guess we can follow with her plan," Twiggs said, giving his answer.

"Are you sure about that?" Najenda asked.

"Not really but we got better in terms of plans. And, at this point, we need all the help we can get," Twiggs replied.

"Well, looks like there's your answer. We'll allow you to help us," Naejnda said to Dorothea, who smirked hearing this. "Now, tell us what plan is on killing Doomsday?"

Northern Area of the Capital

Back to the fight, things were getting intense. The entire battlefield was completely covered with either fire or ice. On top of a building was Esdeath, breathing heavily, trying to catch a moment of rest. All the while watching Doomsday fight and destroy the remainer of her ice golems, destroying them one by one.

As much as Esdeath hated to admit, whether be pride or denial, this monster is becoming too much for her. After about seven minutes, Esdeath found that none of her attacks have remotely harmed the creature, with the best result just pushing it back. She tried different tactics and attacks and targeting different areas of the body for weak points. But nothing worked. The only thing that was happening is that she was recieving injuries as the ice general had multiple bits and bruises all over her body. Despite this, Esdeath would not let these drawbacks to retreat. After all, she's the strongest of the Empire.

"I must admit...you are truly the strongest monster...I've ever faced. Not even Nightraid...have pushed me...to this point. This is truly...the greatest fight...I've ever had," Esdeath said, still taking deep breaths. She then formed another ice rapier in her hand. "However, when this battle is over, I'll be the one to stand over your corpse."

As soon as Doomsday destroys the last ice golem, Esdeath summons an ice spear and launches it at the beast. Doomsday saw and simply punched the spear, shattering it into pieces. As that happen, Esdeath had summoned multiple icicles and fired them as the beast, bombarding it with a hail of ice. However, this did nothing to the monster just stood there taking the assault. Despite this, the ice general charged in and slash at the beast with her rapier. Aiming at its legs, arms, and torso. As she was about to attack the head, the Ultimate backhand slaps her, lauching her away from it.

However, this didn't slow Esdeath as she placed her hands on the ground and summons pillars of ice, submerging the beast with sharp ice. The ice general believed that attack did alot of damage to the creature. Thinking she trapped it in the ice. However, her six senses began warning her to dodge, along with seeing two bright red lights in the ice. Immediately, Esdeath moved to the right to evaded the sudden heat vision blasting through the ice towards her. Although the ice general was able to escape the attack, the heat vision did managed to hit her. Grunting in agony, Esdeath's right eye had been hit by the beam. Her eyeball had been reduced into a white, bkoody goo and some skin near her eye were sizzling like cooked meat.

Acting quickly, Esdeath placed her hand on her wound and froze it completely, somewhat healing the wound. While she may have lost her full vision, the ice queen was still determined to kill the monster. As Doomsday charged out of the ice pillars towards her, Esdeath summoned two ice swords in both hands and charged at the Ultimate. The ice general began to evade the monster's punches as she slash at it with her swords. It didn't do anything to the beast, she had to try to find a weak point or something to give her an advantage of some kind. However, this wouldn't last as Doomsday managed to grab ahold of Esdeath by her sides. The Walking War Machine brought her up to the air then slammed her hard to ground, causing it to crack and crumble by the force. Needless to say, this was painful for Esdeath as she coughed out blood.

Then Doomsday lifted the ice general and threw her behind it, bouncing on the ground. Esdeath, despite the pain, tried to get up as she was on her knees, but the creature kicked her and launched her to a wall. Stuck in the stone wall, Esdeath tried to get out but then Doomsday began punching her a few times until the beast finally allowed the ice general to fall to the ground below. When she tried to get up, the ice queen was met with the Ultimate stomping her to the ground then kicking her through multiple buildings then crashing to the earth.

As Esdeath finally managed get her back on her feet, she was feeling so much pain through her body. Blood was oozing out of her mouth, her vision was becoming wobbly, and her body was massively bruised all over. She was certainly seen better days. As Esdeath was trying to get her senses back together, she saw that Doomsday was slowly walking towards her as it had its bone claws out.

Esdeath notices that the beast was grinning at her as if it was mocking her for being weak. This ignited her fighting spirit once. Esdeath would not lose here today. The ice general will prove to this monster that she was called the Strongest in the Enpire for a reason. She will prove that this beast is beneath her like the rest.

With that, Esdeath ran towards the Ultimate as the beast did the same. When the two got close to each other, Doomsday attempted to stab the general with its poison bone claws. However, Esdeath was quick to summon a chuck of ice for the beast to stab into it, causing its claws to get stuck. Though the poison was melting the ice which allowed the Walking War Machine to out easily. But this left the monster wide open as Esdeath placed her hands on the Ultimate's back and began to incase the beast in ice. Doomsday tried to fight back but the ice was beginning to slow down its movement as the ice spread all over its body. The ice queen continued to freeze the creature, using all her power to make sure this monster was completely cover with ice. Eventually, the Ultimate stopped moving as the ice had completely covered it. Now trapped within an icy prison.

With that done, Esdeath smiled with glee as she tapped the ice prison. "It's over, I've proven my point. You were just another rampaging danger beast no different then the others I've hunted. To think both sides had such trouble dealing with you is laughable" She spoke inbetween long deep breaths, the power she needed to freeze the beast solid was astonishing. "Though I'll admit there are few who made me consider using my trump card and even fewer to make me use it. I won't forget this fight. In the end, I was the stronger fighter as goes the laws of nature."

With that, Esdeath began to walk away as she was noe satisfied. What she would do, she didn't know. But as long as she us able to get more war to fight and torture, she's fine with anything that would lead to that.

Crack~

The ice general stopped walked when she heard that. Esdeath turned around to see where it came from. And to her horror, she saw that the sound came from the icy prison as cracks appeared on it. They started out small then began becoming bigger and bigger until the icy prison was destroyed. Sending chunks of ice everywhere and forcing Esdeath to cover her eyes from the shockwave. When the ice queen looked back to the area, to her shock, she saw Doomsday, standing there as it looked at her with its red, angry eyes.

As Esdeath stood there in shock how this is happening, the monster close it's eye and reopened them as they changed into a dark blue. Then the creature began to slowly open its mouth as misty fog came out. Seeing this, Esdeath immediately got into action to dodge this potential attack.

And an attack it was as Doomsday unleashed a white and blue breath attack that had frosty winds and snow mixed in, almost like a ferocious blizzard that not even this planet could conquer. By some miracle, Esdeath managed to evade the ice breath, however, her right arm was caught within the attack. When the ice general was in a good distance from the beast, she looked at her arm and saw that it was completely turned into ice. All her flesh, blood, and bones were turned into solid ice. Even worse, it was spreading. So Esdeath immediately sliced off her right arm to prevent being turned into an ice sculpture as her frozen arm fell to the ground and shatter into pieces.

Doomsday then slowy walked towards Esdeath with a smile on it's face. Seeing this, the ice general summoned hundreds of icicles and fired them at beast. As before, icicles shattered on contact with the monster's skin. However, Esdeath noticed something that was different from before. Back then, the icicles would show it had some effect on the monstrosity. But now, the Ultimate showed no sign of being effect by attack as if it was just air hitting it. Seeing this, the ice general summons pillars of ice from the ground to skewer Doomsday. But the moment the ice made contact with the Walking War Machine, they broke on impact, not slowing the beast down in the slighest. This allowed tge monster to punch her in the stomach, launching her a few feet to the ground and vomiting out blood. Seeing this, Doomsday continued to smile as it walked towards her and summons out its bone claws.

Seeing this, Esdeath was now feeling a new emotion. From seeing how the monster has able to endure all her attacks to the injuries it had done to her, this feeling was now consuming her. The ice queen felt her legs and body begin to shake. As well as felt a chill down her spine, which was odd for Esdeath as this has never happened to her before. Even in some of the coldest climates in this country, the ice general could handle them with no problem. But now this was different. At first, she tried to deny this feeling as this fight went but pushed it down as she wanted to prove that she was strongest between the two. However, the ice general could no longer deny it. Esdeath was feeling fear.

For the first time in her life, Esdeath is afraid of fighting. Afraid of fighting this monstrosity. Afraid by being killed by this thing.

With that in mind, Esdeath's new prime objective is to escape from this creature. As the Ultimate was now in front of her, Esdeath brought her hands together as a blue sphere appeared in between.

"Mahaphama"

With those words uttered, the blue sphere expanded and covered the area around them as everything turned the color blue. Everything around them, for a couple seconds, was now frozen in time. With this, Esdeath toom this opportunity to make her retreat and run off. 'Damn it all! Never in my life would I have to retreat like this! This is humiliating! But at this point, this is the only option I have left. For this is a losing battle. I swear, when I become stronger, I will show that monster the same fear it had forced me to experience.'

However, as the ice general continued running still in her thoughts, Esdeath felt an agonizing pain in her left leg. She looked down and to her horror, the ice general saw that her leg was stabbed by a bone claw. Forced to the ground, Esdeath looked to where the bone claw came from. Her eyes widen in shock and horror from what she was seeing. Behind her is Doomsday as the bone claw stabbing her leg came from its knuckle. The ice general's fear skyrocketed by the sight. Questioning how the hell the beast was still able to move freely. It was like her truml card had no effect what so ever on the beast. Even worse was that the monster was still grinning at her.

"No...no, no, no, no, no..." Esdeath uttered to herself continually as she tried to get away somehow but the Ultimate retracted its bone claws back, pulling her towards it. Once she was close, Doomsday grabbed Esdeath by her leg and lifted her up enough to look at her face to face. While Esdeath's face expressed absolute fear, Doomsday was grinning in delight as it uttered one word to the once Strongest in the Empire.

"Weak."

With that said, Doomsday gripped onto Esdeath's leg and slammed her hard to the ground. The once proud general screamed in agony as blood came out of her mouth and felt a few of her bones broken. But that didn't stop there as Doomsday then slammed her down somewhere else with broken glass. Then slammed her through one of the ice pillars Esdeayh summoned eariler, destroying it with ease. The process of Doomsday slamming Esdeath to where ever continued like this with the monster roared in satisfaction and the woman screamed in agony. The Ultimate would continue slamming its prey through whatever it saw to make this woman suffered. To hear her screams of pain until she becomes silent.

Elsewhere in the Northern Area, we see the remaining group of Nightraid along with a few soldiers with them. As they were running through the destroyed streets to their target, Najenda began to remember the plan that was laid out with Dorothea.

Flashback

"Okay Najenda, this is how the plan is going to go," Dorothea said to the leader as she began to explain her everything. "Because of how rare many of the chemicals are that I used to make this grenade, so you only got one shot at this."

"While the grenade does have a pretty good radius, I feel like its important to make sure its place at the monster's head. To make sure it doesn't comeback."

"That sounds simple enough. As long as we detonate this at the head, we should be victorious," Najenda commented as she was given the grenade.

"I very much doubt it," Twiggs spoke out with uncertainly in his voice. "The monster may not be intelligent, but it's not stupid. Doomsday will attack us and possiblity destroy the grenade before we can activate it. Remember, its not like Esdeath where she prolongs the fight for her own sick game, the beast will use whatever power it has to kill us. It will not hesitate."

"I know that. I already know the risks we'll have to face if we fail. However, we don't have any choice at this point. This is our only option if we are to win. So we will not fail. We will kill Doomsday," the Nightraid leader said with full confidence.

"Sounds good to us. So what's out plan going to be here?" Chelsea asked as everyone paid their attention to Najenda.

"It should be simple enough. Everyone of us will have to distract the monster. Constantly have it switch its attention onto someome else. Distracted long enough for one of us to detonate the grenade onto the beast's head and kill it for good."

"Okay, that sounds simple enough. It won't be easy but it should be easy enough to follow. Question is though, who's going to activate the grenade?" Kurome asked.

"Good question, considering that this is a suicide mission," Dorothea pointed out.

"Suicide mission? What do you mean by that?" Leone asked as everyone looked at the alchemist.

"Oh right, I forgot to mention this before. Most of you know that regular grenades have a timer before they explode. Well this one's not the case. Because I want to make sure there was no drawbacks whatsoever, I made my grenade explode the instant the pin is pulled."

"The hell? Why would you design it like that?" Leone questioned loudy, cleary upset by all this.

"Because I don't want to give that monster any chances. That's why this was absolutely necessary," Dorothea replied back.

"Okay, if that's the case, who's willing to volunteer for this?" Kurome asked. Like that, there was complete silence as no one seemed to want to take on the task. Not that anyone could blame them. This was pretty much a suicide mission. It took a while before someone finally spoke.

"I'll do it then," Najenda spoke out.

"What? Are you serious about that?" Chelsea questioned, completely shock by her decision with Leone reacting the same way.

"I'm sure. Out of everyone here, I'm the only one most suited for this. You and Kurome have no chance against Doomsday. And Leone is still suffering from her PTSD. I'm the only one who can really take on this task," Najenda explained.

"Well, what about Tyler? Can't he volunteer?" Leone pointed out, focusing on the Spectator user.

"Because for one, he's not part of Nightraid, he's with me," Twiggs spoke out, not a fan of having his only member left to be sacrificed. "Besides, I'm going to need Tyler since I'm going back the safe zone and check how everything is over there. I feel like I need to do something since I'm not much help here."

"That's fine, Twiggs. You have your own responsibles to take care of. Though why take Tyler with you?" Nejanda asked.

"Simple, I need him if something bad happened back at the safe zone. Not only that but I'm putting Tyler in charge of looking after Dorothea until this whole war is over with," Tyler explained, immediately getting Tyler's attention.

"Wait, what?! Why do I have to look after this crazy alchemist?" he asked, upset by all this.

"Well fuck you too," Dorothea replied.

"Because one: you're the only one that seems to be able to deal with the alchemist . So I thought you would be able to handle her. And second: this is an order. So I expect you to follow through."

Tyler wanted to talk back since he doesn't want to look after Dorothea. But realizing that there was nothing could do, the Spectator teigu user simple grumbled to himself, annoyed. "Oh come, I'm not that bad to around with," Dorothea argued loudy.

"You're a wanted criminal responsible for conducting experiments against humanity. I really doubt your claim," he retorted.

"Okay, yes. I've done horrible shit, but at least I'm the most level minded from my previous group. Especially Champ." Dorothea's body shook in disgust from remembering the clown and the atrocities he did. "The things he said still makes me uncomfortable."

"Well, that's settle then. We'll all leave in a couple minutes to do what we have to do. While I'm not familiar with everyone here in Nightraid, I wish you all the best of luck in assassinating Doomsday," Twiggs told them solemnly.

Najenda gave a small grin as her eyes were full of determination before replying back.

"We will."

Back to the present, Najenda pulls out the grenade out of her pocket as she examines it. This weapon was the very thing that they needed to end the monster once and for end. Failure was not an option for them. 'I swear to everyone that has died by this monstrosity, I will avenge you all and kill this abomination,' Najenda said in her thoughts, determined to make sure this mission is successful.

Eventually, all of Nightraid and their remaining soldiers finally made it to the battlefield where Esdeath and Doomsday had fought on. It was very apparent that the fight happened here as there was massive chucks of ice and pockets of fire everywhere with no buildings standing. All of them reduced to rubble and debris. Whatever happened here shows just how destructive their fight was and the power the two had. The question to them was who won the fight? For Najenda's case, as much as she hated to admit it, wished it was Esdeath.

Her train of thought was interrupted when she heard a strange kind of noise. The sound of something being slammed through a hard surface. Najenda and her group followed to the source to see where it was coming from. They navigated themselves through the debris that littered the battlefield. The group eventually made it to where the noise was coming from. What Najenda was seeing left her completely speechless from what she was seeing as her eyes widen in shock. The same was said with Chelsea, Kurome, Leone, and the soldiers as they expressed the same expression. Out of everything they had witnessed that surprised them, this sight easily took the cake as the most unbelievable.

They see the monster, Doomsday, slamming a person, in its grip, through whatever hard surface close to it, painting them with blood. Though from the look and aspects of the person, it was obvious that this person is in fact Esdeath. What confused everyone, right now, was why Esdeath wasn't screaming. Even as the Strongest of the Capital, she should be feeling immense amount of pain that would cause any to scream in pain. The Ultimate eventually stopped itself as it noticed the group and looked at them, smiling in delight at its new prey. As it held Esdeath's body up, the group got a good look at what had happened to the ice general and what they saw was indeed gruesome.

Just from looking her, it was obvious that Esdeath was dead. But what was unsettling to them was the damage was done to the body. It was very much a gruesome sight for them to see. Her right eye and arm were completely gone. There were many scratches and bruises that covered her once perfect skin. It was very apparent that there most of her skeleton and bones were completely broken as there were irregularities in the shape of her body and a couple bones puncturing or pressing onto the skin. The most most gruesome part of Esdeath's corpse was the fact that her entire lower jaw was gone.

Never in her wildest imagination that Najenda would see Esdeath be killed and reduced to such a gruesome display. She almost felt sorry for her once comrade.

Seeing as the group was looking the corpse, Doomsday decided to get rid of it. First, it used its Nitrogen Breath at Esdeath's corpse, freezing it to the point of becoming pure ice. Then the creature lift the frozen body into the air before slamming it to the ground, destroying it into a pieces. With that done, Doomsday summoned out its bone claws, ready to kill the remaining Nightraid.

"Alright everyone, you all know what we have to do. So let's make sure we give it our all cause we're big going to get another chance like this again," Najenda told them.

"Ready?"

"Ready," everyone replied back.

"Then go!" With that, everyone ran at different directions, scattering throughout the battlefield. Seeing this, the monster decided to go after one of soldiers as it about to stab him. Fortunately, the soldier managed roll our of the way in time. Just as the Ultimate was about to attack again, the creature was being shot in the head by two other soldiers with their guns. Now focusing on the armed men, the Walking War Machine ran towards them. But was stopped in its tracks as one of the soldiers throws a spear right at head. The spear was destroyed because of this but it distracted the beast long enough for the gun welders to get out and hide. As Doomsday was about fire its nine projectiles at the soldier, Kurome suddenly came in slice at the beast's legs to interrupt to get the monster force it's fire breath to the ground. The creature was about retaliated with a electric punch but Kurome jump back in time evade the attack. She then ran away from Doomsday as the monstrosity gave chase.

Behind one of large debris, hiding, we see Najenda as she was looking at the fight as everyone kept switching the monster's attention onto each other, angering it. Good, our plan is going well so far. But I still need to wait until the beast's senses are fully distracted. Then I can catch it off guard and activate the grenade. I just have to wait for that moment.' Najenda began to move to a different hiding spot as the fight began to move elsewhere.

Somewhere as in the battlefield, Chelsea was currently hiding behind some debris as she about get ready to do her part. With was Leone in her beast mode, though she looked hesitant due to her fear.

"Okay Leone, it's about time we join in and distract Doomsday. We better get ready," Chelsea said as she pulls out some needles from Gaia Foundation.

"Chelsea...I don't think I can do this," Leond said uncomfortable as she held her shaking arm. "I can barely get myself to shaking. Beisdes, I freeze looking at the damn thing. How am I going to fight like this?"

"Leone, I get that. Hell, I can tell boss didn't want to bring you here. But we have to do this. We literally get only one shot at this," Chelsea said with a serious yet understanding tone as she looks back to the battlefield

"I know, but I wish I had something to help me fight that thing without freezing up." Leone body and consciousness were yelling at her to run away or hide just with Doomsday being nearby. The assassin hated this. This PTSD was hindering her strength and thinking as a fighter. She kept thinking of a way to try to get rid of this weakness. She kept thinking and thinking until she noticed something on her. She grabbed and looked at her signature scarf. Seeing this immediately gave her an idea on solve her problem.

With that, Leone unwrapped her scarf off her neck and began to get to work. As Leone was doing what she doing, Chelsea looks back to her partner and had a look of confusion. "Leone, what are you doing?" she asked.

"Just getting rid of my weakness." Once she was done, Leone was now combat ready as she had used her scarf to a blindfold. She had wrapped tight enough that all she could see is black.

"Leone, are you serious? You can't go in there and fight like that," Chelsea scolded.

"Look, I know it's ridiculous. However, I can still fight. I might not be able to use my eyes, but I still use my other animal senses my teigu gives me like my hearing and smell. Even better is the fact that my animal instincts allow me to detect the beast's aura," Leone argued back.

"Maybe but are you used to fighting like this?" Chelsea questioned, which got Leone to scratch her head with uncertainty. "Okay, I rarely have done something like this. But this will help me here."

"That's enough to tell me that this isn't going to work so just-" Chelsea was interrupted as Leone gripped onto her shoulders and faced her flat mouth.

"Chelsea, I need to have this on. I hate to admit this but I'll be a liability out there. We can't have me out there frozen in fear just from looking at the damn creature. I don't want to be a liability." Tears began to appear from her blindfold as the fall on her cheeks as Leone had a sad smile on her. "Kurome was right. I've done nothing to help. Just hide, cry, or freeze like a weakling. Even worse, Lubbock died because of me. I don't want to responsible for something like that anymore. I'm tired of letting my fear holding me back. I need to do my part in this."

"Leone..." Chelsea said, surprised by her comrade said, understanding the pain Leone was feeling. "Look, you don't have to get involved. We'll understand that don't want to fight. We'll understand that you're afraid."

Leone gave a more upbeat smile from hearing as she said, "No, it's fine. I'm afraid of that thing. But I rather die helping kill Doomsday then die being useless and filled with regret."

"If that's what you want then I should honor your decision. That's why I'll help you out in case that blindfold of yours is giving you trouble," Chelsea said with a playful smile. "You ready then?"

Leone gave her signature smile as she punched both her fists together. "Hell yeah I am."

Back with Doomsday, the monster was becoming extremely annoyed by the entire situation at hand. Everytime the monster's prey attacked it, they would immediately retreat. Even when the beast got its chance to kill one of them, someone else would attack it, missing its opportunity to deliver the killing blow. At this point, the Ultimate's anger was beginning to rise as it wanted nothing more than to kill them.

Then, two soldiers came out from hiding as they began shooting their guns at the Ultimate's head, though the bullets harmlessly bounced off. Seeing them, the Walking War Machine was about to unleash its Nitrogen Breath onto its prey. However, the monster's hair is pulled back by Kurome and Leone, forcing it to fire its attack into the open sky. Both assassins jumped back to avoid the beast's bone claws from slashing at them. As the Ultimate was about to continue its attack, a cat suddenly came out of nowhere and jumped onto its head as it began to scratch at the creature furiously. The scratches did nothing to harm Doomsday in the slightest as the monster about to crush the cat to death. But Leone and Kurome attacked it's legs, resulting in tripping the Walking War Machine to the ground and allowing the cat to escape and hide. When in cover, the cat transformed back into Chelsea as she giggled in delight by what she did to Doomsday.

"Talk about a 'cat'astrophe for Doomsday all of a sudden," Chelsea said to herself, laughing in delight.

As the monster got back up, Doomsday began to slam its fists to the ground to complete frustration like a child in a tantrum. It was now enrage as the Ultimate began to smash through the nearest debris to find its prey. Seeing that the monster was now blinded by its rage, Najenda saw this as an perfect opportunity to end this. She came out from hiding and ran towards the beast with the grenade in hand. "This is for the lives you've kill, you monster," she uttered angrily, ready to end this nightmare.

However, something made her stop in her tracks. That something was Doomsday as orange lighting began to appear on its body. Not only that, it's body was glowing into a dangerous looking bright yellow. It seemed that in its rage and frustration, Doomsday was now using its electric powers in a way that would end this annoying game of cat and mouse. Seeing as the lighting was becoming bigger as well as the light glowing brighter, Najenda immediately ran back into hiding as she yells out to her comrades, "Everyone, take cover!"

The energy within Doomsday grew further to the point that its eye glowed a bright orange. When the energy was fully charged up, the Ultimate roared in fury as it unleashed the energy outward. Summoning out a electric energy shield that blast away and destroyes anything in its way. The attack was truly powerful as everyone was launched away in different directions by the force the electric dome produce within its radius. Every piece of debris was sent flying as a couple of them were burn or destroyed by the electricity. Eventually, the attack cease and disappeared.

The electrical dome had destroyed and blew away a good chunk of debris away, creating a clearing. It took a while before there was a bit movement from the debris. After moving a couple rocks and debris, Najenda managed to climb out from her imprisonment. She coughed a bit from the dust as she allowed her lungs to breathe freah air before looking around the area for any survivors. To her relief, she saw that a few of them, such as Kurome, Chelsea, and Leone, and two soldiers survived the blast. However, to her dismay, the Nightraid leader saw the rest of the soldiers were not so fortunate as they were crushed to death by the debris. Despite this sudden drawback, Najenda had to push those thoughts aside as she had a mission to complete. So she reached into her pocket to grab the grenade.

But there was nothing. Najenda eyes widen in shock as she moved her hand rapidly move around her pocket and still felt nothing. She then began to look through her other pockets but they were all empty. "The grenade. Where the hell is the grenade?!" Najenda yelled in panic as she began to look for it.

Elsewhere, Leone was coming out from the debris, groaning in pain due to the attack. As she looked around the area, the assassin noticed that she no longer had her blindfold on. "No, no! I can't lose that now! Where is it?!"

She began to look around the area to find her scarf but was finding nothing. But during her search, Leone found something. To her shock, the yellow haired assassin found a grenade. The same one that was going to be used to kill Doomsday. While was shock to see it here since her boss was suppose to have it with her. But her train of thought was interrupted as she heard a roar. Leone's blood ran cold as she immediately recognized it as she went into hiding. As Leone hid, she peeked behind to see Doomsday it growled, looking for any of its prey to pop out. Leone went back into her hiding spot as she want the monster to find her. Her PTSD affecting her once more as the assassin could barely move and was having trouble to breathe properly. Leone was at that point praying that the beast wouldn't find. She hated this. She hate feeling so weak. Leone previously said that she wanted to be useful against Doomsday and she had the means to kill it. But her fears were holding her back at the worst of times. She had to do something to complete the mission. The question was, how?

As she was thinking about this, Leone hears something. The sound of rubble and debris being moved. And out from the rubble was Chelsea as she free herself and cough rapidly from the dust in her lungs. As she was her senses back together, Doomsday grinned as it walked towards the girl. Once Chelsea got her thoughts back together, she finally noticed the Ultimate walking towards her, making her blood turn cold. The auburn haired girl began to walk back in fear and try to escape. Unfortunately for her, Chelsea's foot tripped on a rock and fell to the ground. When she to tried to get up, the Walking War Machine was already in front of her. Grinning in glee, the monster was about to gain another kill as it summoned out its bone claws, ready to stab the frightened Chelsea to death.

But then, a massive rock was throw and hit directly behind Doomsday's head. It didn't scratch the beast but it did get its attention as the creature turned to see who chuck the rock at it. To its and Chelsea's surprise, they see Leone, standing there, ready to face the Ultimate. The monstrosity grinned at seeing Leone again. She had become a special kind of prey that it wanted to kill after escaping so many times. Even better as the monster knew that kitty was afraid of it.

"Kitty~"

Leone stood right in front of the monster, determined to kill the beast and complete the mission. However, her fears were still getting the best of the assassin, hearing that nickname, as her body was trembling, it was becoming harder for her to breath normally, and she was sweating like a pig in a hot day. Leone's thoughts were screaming at her to run away and that she had absolutely no chance against Doomsday. She really wanted to listen to her thoughts and just run away, to hide, she wanted this nightmare to go away.

But there was something that was preventing run away, helping Leone to remain somewhat focused on completing her mission. And that was idea of failing her comrades. The fear of her dying by the hands of Doomsday was being replaced by the fear of seeing more of her friends die by this monstrosity. Leone was tried of seeing people die by this monster. Tried of feeling responsible for allowing these deaths to happen. Tired of feeling useless. So with all her might, Leone mustered up all her energy to stand her ground. Showing the beast that she wasn't to run away. That she wasn't going to back down. That she's ready to fight.

Seeing this, Doomsday only growled in annoyance by the kitty not running away. However, the Walking War Machine knew it was going to have it's fun either way. So without wasting time, the Ultimate charged towards Leone with its bone claws out. Fortunately for the assassin, Leone rolled out of the way and began running away as the monster gave chase.

"Leone...what are you doing?" Chelsea uttered in shock.

(Hunter X Hunter (2011) OST - Hyori Ittai ~ Lamento for piano)

Back with Leone, she kept on running into a more isolated area as Doomsday was right on her tail. As Leone ran for dear life, fighting off her PTSD in the process, she began to think to herself.

'Huh, this is so weird. I've always imagined myself that I would die bravely in some grand and epic way. Something that will be remembered by everyone close.'

'Eh, too bad that's the complete opposite now. Here I am, going to die completely scared. My body still shaking with the feeling of wanting to vomit from the gear within me. Guess that's my fault for expecting too much of myself and being to brash for my own good.'

Leone was brought out of her thoughts as she see a shadow covering her. She looks up to see Doomsday as it about to crush her to death beneath it's feet. Acting quickly, Leone jumps to the right, avoiding being crushed to death. Leone still continued to run as the Ultimate let out an annoyed growl as it gave chase once more.

'Hell, here I am running away to get this bastard to a better place to set this grenade off. Which is the complete opposite of what I do in a fight.' Despite the craziness and overwhelming fear she was feeling right now, she couldn't help but smile. 'But as long as that monster is killed, I'm fine with it.'

Eventually, seeing that she was far enough, Leone stopped herself as she turned to face Doomsday, who was still running towards her. At that moment, the assassin began to just think herself one last time. Thinking about her still living comrades.

'Boss, thanks for be so understanding.'

'Kurome, you were an annoying brat. But you were alright in my book.'

'Tatsumi, thanks for allowing me to have my fun. Even at your expense.'

'Chelsea, thank you...for encouraging me to do this.'

With that in mind, Leone let out a loud roar as she charged towards the Walking War Machine. With it's prey close, Doomsday attempted to crush her with its fists. But Leone rolled underneath the creature, avoiding the attack. Then the yellow haired assassin quickly climbed into the beast's back and grabbed onto its head into a headlock. As she was about to use the grenade, the Ultimate was fast enough to grab Leone by the head and pull her off it. Then the monster slammed her to the ground, making a crater.

Leone coughed up blood as she tried to get herself back on her feet. As the woman was able to get up, the Doomsday proceeded to stab her in the stomach with its bone claws. Leone let out a cry if pain as the monstrosity lifted her up in the air, moving her close to it as they were now face to face. The monster made a demonic smirk as to scare the kitty. And it seemed to work as Leone eyes were expressing absolute terror. Even when she tried her best to suppress this feeling, it was still showing on her face. Satisfy by this, the Ultimate opened its mouth as the monster was about crush Leone's head between its teeth. However, at that very moment, Leone found her very moment to end this. So with all her remaining strength and will, she shoved the grenade right into Doomsday mouth. With one hand holding the weapon and the other on the pin. The monster didn't have time to react as Leone did what had to be done.

'You know, despite this not being the way I wanted to die...'

Once her hand pulled the pin from the grenade, Leone closed her eyes and let out a simple chuckle.

'I'm okay with this.'

(Music End)

In an instant, the grenade erupted, letting out a massive explosion that engulfed both Leone and Doomsday. The explosion was massive as it had about a couple meters wide. Fortunately, the blast didn't reach the rest of the group, so they were safe. The explosion eventually ceased as quickly as it appeared.

When the explosion cleared up, Kurome was the first to make her way towards the site. Seeing the damage, she could definitely tell that Dorothea wasn't minding when she said that the grenade destroyed things on a cellular level. While there was a black substance on the ground and the rest of the debris, at a closer look, Kurome can see that everything engulfed by the explosion was melting away. Buring the place into dust. The Black Eyed girl looked around the area, once the acidic effects wore off of the area, to find where the monster is. It took her a good while before Kurome spotted it.

Kurome found Doomsday's body. Well most of it. The grenade did a good job killing the monster as its head was completely gone along with its chest gruesomely opened up. However, the freakiest thing the teen noticed is that there was no once of blood leaking out. It was completely dry. The Black Eyed girl new that this creature was created to be the ultimate weapon, but she didn't think that the beast would adapt to the point that it would no longer bleed. Kurome stopped thinking about it as the whole thing was becoming unsettling to her.

"Damn, that grenade really did a number on you. But I'm glad this happened. Now we won't have to worry about you anymore," Kurome said with hatred for the monster and satisfaction om knowing that this nightmare is over. "I just hope that blast gave Najenda a quick death."

"Kurome!" To the girl's shock, she turns around to see Najenda as she run towards her with three surviving soldiers with her. "I'm glad to see that you're alive."

"Najenda? W-What are you doing here? I thought you were suppose to activate the grenade," Kurome questioned, flatterghasted by this.

"I was...but when that electrical blast happened, I ended up losing the grenade. I was actually wondering who was able to detonate it and kill the beast," Najenda explained.

"I know who did it."

Najenda and Kurome turned to see a saddened Chelsea as she walked towards them, with a ripped up scarf in hand. Seeing the scarf and knowing who belong to made Najenda realize what had happened. "Leone..." she uttered in shock.

"Yeah...surprising, right? She was the one that used the grenade and killed Doomsday. She was able to overcome her fear. Just enough to complete our mission," Chelsea said, still sadden by her friend's death.

"Didn't think she had it in her to do, considering her whole PTSD," Kurome commented with a neutral face. Then her mouth formed a smile. "Glad to see she that she was able to help in the end despite that."

Najenda was silent as she looked at Doomsday's body, relieved that this is over. She wanted look for Leone's body, but it was nowhere to be found. The leader assumes that assassin's body was reduced to nothing in the blast. 'Look at this. Despite your fears, you were able to push through them and did what had to be done. Even if it meant dying in the process.' Najenda began to tear up remembering the good and bad moments with Leone. 'You saved us, Leone. We'll never forget that.' Like that, everyone remained silent as they gave a quick prayer to their fallen comrade.

One Hour Later

It had been about an hour after the death of Doomsday and everything was quiet. One of the surviving soldiers was sent to the Safe Zone to spread the news that the monster is dead. So, during the time, everyone else were just sitting. Finally being able to relax. Everyone were sitting around each other as they were having their own celebration. However, Kurome was sitting by herself as she wanted to be alone and think about her life choices.

Chelsea finished drinking some water from a canister before passing to Najenda. "Oh god, I really needed that after everything we went through today," Chelsea said, feeling relieved.

"I couldn't agree more," Najenda agreed as she took a drink.

"So what do we do now? With the monster dead and the Empire destroyed, where do we go from here?" Chelsea asked.

Najenda finished drinking her water before she replied. "I guess for starters, we rebuild the city and reorganize everything here. Then we can worry about the political problems later."

"Yeah, things are going to get complicated. Let's just hope things don't get too hectic," Chelsea jokingly said, resulting in her and Najenda chuckling.

Once their laughter ceased, Chelsea began to think to herself, suddenly thinking of Tatsumi. "I wonder how Tatsumi's doing right now?" she suddenly asked.

"I assume he's still resting from his previous fight with the beast. He was severely injured during the time. We can later visit him to see how he's doing," Najenda answered.

"I would definitely like that. After everything that's happened, I'd like to be with someone that can bring some cheer back to me," she said happily.

"Indeed. Maybe when we see him, you can finally confess to him," Najenda said playfully, causing the lollipop girl to blush.

"B-Boss, I'm not sure if I'm ready for that yet! I-I mean...is it even the perfect time for that?" Chelsea admitted, feeling embarrassed.

"Well, considering the close calls we've faced, I believe it would be a good thing to tell him now. After all, you'll never know when you get another chance like that," the Nightraid leader advised.

"Okay, I get that. But how do I tell him? This is new to me," Chelsea pointed out, still confused.

"Tell me what?"

Najenda and Chelsea were shocked to hear this familiar voice and turned to see the persom they recognize. Waking towards them is Tatsumi, looking fine with a soldier with him. Although, he was wrapped up from his chest and stomach with bandages. "So, what did I miss?"

"Tatsumi, what are you doing here? You should be resting, not walking around like this!" Chelsea scolded the teen boy.

Hehe, sorry. I was told that you guys kill Doomsday. So I decided to come and join in the celebration and stuff," Tatsumi said as he took a seat.

"Yeah sorry. He was very incident on coming here. Besides, he's fine for the most part. He can walk normally. As long as he doesn't run or over due it with his body, then he should be fine," the soldier explained.

"I don't get it. His body was ripped up badly and he was losing a lot of blood. How did he recover so fast?" Najenda questioned.

"That's what I'm wondering. It was about an hour and a half that his body was able to recover so well. I assume because of his constant evolution with Incursio, it allowed his body to heal faster then normal," the soldier explained quietly, looking at Tatsumi as he and Chelsea were currently talking.

"I have heard that teigu like Incursio can changed the body of their host to better adapt to certain obstacles. I assume Incursio adapted to the point that allowed faster healing," Najenda hypothesized to herself before laughing at the thought. "Hm, funny to think that the teigu would leave a benefit to the user despite the numbers of problems it gives to its previous users."

"Haha, yeah. It ironic in a way. But for Tatsumi's case, it really helped him out and maybe even saved his life," the soldier commented.

"Indeed. But lets not think about it. For now, let us just enjoyed this peace and quiet," Najenda said, closing her eyes and enjoying this moment of harmony.

"I can agree to that," the soldier replied as he does the same.

Back with Tatsumi and Chelsea, the lollipop girl had finished explaining about what had happened and how they killed Doomsday. "And that's basically what you missed on our mission," Chelsea said, concluding her explanation.

"Wow...didn't think a Wild Hunt member would actually help us. Especially someone like Dorothea," Tatsumi said I'm shock.

"I know right? Despite how much I hate Wild Hunt and people like her, I will admit that she did help us in our time of need," Chelsea admitted.

"Just as it's hard to admit that Leone's dead," Tatsumi said sadly with Chelsea frowning.

"Yeah, even with everything she was going through, Leone sacrificed herself to save us all. I'll never forget that," Chelsea said solemnly.

"Same with everyone else in Nightraid. We'll never forget them, no matter what," Tatsumi said, resulting with Chelsea nodding in agreement, smiling. There was a bit a silence between them until Tatsumi decided to speak up once more.

"By the way, Najenda mentioned that you had something to day to me. You kind telling me what it is?" Tatsumi asked, causing the lollipop girl to blush a little.

"Oh-um...well...I do have something to tell you, but..." the blushing Chelsea tried to explained but couldn't.

"But?" Tatsumi questioned.

"I'm...having trouble...telling you," she admitted.

"It's fine. Take your time. I can wait," he said with an understanding look.

Hearing that made Chelsea's face turn red and turn away from Tatsumi. 'Damn it, why can't I just tell him how I feel?! The moment I try, the words just don't come out! There's got to be something that can help me.'

Chelsea began to think of a way to help her to confess to Tatsumi. She even looked around for an idea that could help her out. And that's when she saw it. Her eyes focused on a still standing building. A building filled with musical instruments from wind instruments, to brass, to drums. This gave her an idea.

"I just figured what I need to do. I'll be right back," Chelsea said to Tatsumi as she got up and walked towards the music store.

Inside the store, the lollipop girl looked through the instruments to find the one she needed. Searching through the other instruments and the broken ones, Chelsea smirked as she found the one she was looking for. Picking them up, she came back to everyone with a elegant looking violin and bow in hand.

"I thought that maybe playing you a song that help me build up some confidence to help me tell you what I wanted to say for a while," Chelsea explained as she turned the pegs to make sure the strings were good.

"Wow Chelsea, I didn't know you could play the violin," Tatsumi said, surprised.

"I can, I just haven't done it in a while. Now, let's play some music," she said happily as she place her chin on the violin, fingers on the board, and placing the bow between the bridge and fingerboard. Ready to play her score. But then stopped herself as she just remembered something. "Crap," she uttered.

"What's wrong?" Tatsumi asked.

"I just remember that this song needs a piano score. So unless I have a pianist, I can't really play this song," Chelsea explained, groaning.

"If that's what you need then I help you with that," a soldier spoke out as he walk up to Chelsea.

"Wait, you can play the piano?"

"Of course. It's been a hobby of mine before becoming a soldier as a kid. I can definitely fill in the role," the soldier said happily.

"Well, that's great. Let's get everything set then we can play," Chelsea said in glee.

With that, a few soldiers helped out on moving a piano out of the music store to their resting area. Once everything was set up and Chelsea told the pianist the song they were playing, they prepared themselves to play their set.

(Somewhere Over The Rainbow - Violin/Piano)

The soldier press his fingers onto the keys of the piano, playing a lovely melody. He pressed different keys to start the beginning of the song. After about a couple seconds of playing, Chelsea joined in as she began to play the violin. Sliding the bow against the strings of the instrument created a lovely metallic, vibrant, flute-like melody for everyone to hear. The music had such a peaceful and elegant melody to it. Similar to how to describe a good summer's day. Relaxing underneath the cooling shade. It brought out so harmony that everyone was silent from hearing such beautiful music. Bring them happiness and peace after the chaos they had to endure. No one dear to speak. Only listen.

Back with Kurome, she too was very moved and awestrucked by the music the violin and piano made. But, the Black Eyed girl paid little mind to it as she was more focused on something else. In her hand, Kurome was holding onto a red scarf that belonged to Wave, her true love. It was a painful reminder that she was now alone. Her sister and boyfriend were dead, leaving her with no one to count on or go with. At this point, Kurome to question what to do now. What will she do with her life now that she was all by herself. While the assassin can survive on her own, it was Akame and Wave that gave her a purpose in life. Now she had to find that purpose on her own.

As she kept thinking, a strong gust of wind blew by Kurome. Causing her flinch and loosen her grip on the scarf, which got carried away through the air. Seeing this, Kurome panic as she gave chase to get the scarf back. Moving through some debris and passing some still standing buildings, the Black Eyed girl maneuvered through whatever obstacle with the red scarf still in sight. Eventually, about half a minute of running, Kurome finally catch the scarf back from the wind. She smiled as she was glad that she didn't lose the one thing that belong to Wave.

But then her thoughts were interrupted as she felt the ground tremble. Kurome looked to where the trembling was coming from and saw a massive dust cloud in the distance. Within it, the teen girl could of sworn that she saw something move. As the figure slowly moved through the dust, she better make out the figure. Being a benemoth. Then she saw it. The thing made her eyes widens in fear, made her spine shiver in disbelief, and made her skin crawl in absolute terror. Kurome saw bright red glowing eyes. Eyes that belong to one familiar creature.

Back with everyone else, Chelsea and the soldier continued to play their piece until they finally made it towards the end. Playing the last note, they had concluded the song and gave a bow towards their audience.

(Music End)

They began to clap in joy from the magnificent music they had heard, causing the two musicians to smile in joy. As the clapping began to cease, Najenda heard something from the distance. It was difficult to make out at first. But the noise became much more clearer. It sounded like someone screaming. Someone they know. Then, appearing to them, they see Kurome running towards the group. Her face filled with terror and despair as she was screaming out words.

"Run away!" Kurome yelled, which confused the group by what she means.

"It's alive! It's ali-"

Then suddenly, something came put from the sky and crash onto Kurome, creating a massive shockwave of dust in the process. Everyone either took cover or pulled up their arms to brace themselves from the shockwave. Once the shockwave was done with and the dust eventually cleared, they were now able to see what had appeared.

Their very core shook in disbelief and terror. Their eyes widen in fear as they were hoping that they were witnessing was an illusion. Chelsea even dropped her violin by the absolute horror that she was seeing. "It...c-can't be..." she uttered in disbelief.

In front of the group was the monster was brought only death. The creature that brought down the Empire completely. The abomination that filled so much fear and dread to anyone that encountered it. This was none other than monstrosity that was named, Doomsday.

The Ultimate stood there in front of the disbelief and silent group. Looking completely fine. But the beast had a massive opening in its chest. However, the opening was quickly healing up. And underneath the monster was Kurome, crushed and reduced to a puddle of blood and gore. Only a single arm to be seen. Doomsday looked at the remaining group with its red eyes. Eyes filled with rage and malice. Clenching it's fists tightly, bone claws out, as they were ready to tear them apart. Letting out a intense growl that would frighten even the mightiest of predators.

Everyone stood there in silence, not moving a single muscle, due to the fear and disbelief by the monstrosity still alive.

"I thought you said you killed it," Tatsumi questioned, breaking the silence.

"We did...this shouldn't be possible," Najenda said, questioning all this.

"Then why is it alive?" one of the soldiers questioned.

"I-I don't know," Najenda simply said.

Without wasting another second, Doomsday ran towards the group, emitting the feeling of bloodlust from its body. Seeing this, Najenda manages to to break out of her fearful state, grabbing Chelsea and Tatsumi, and jumping out of the way of the monster's path. Unfortunately, the soldiers weren't lucky as the Walking War Machine tore them apart, piece to piece, with its claws.

As the creature killed its prey, Najenda ran into an alley where she dropped Tatsumi and Chelsea there. "Listen to me and listen well. I need you two to get of here."

"What?!" Chelsea said in shock.

"You both need to get to the safe zone and warn everyone. At least so that they can escape or do something," Najenda explained.

"But what about you?" Tatsumi asked.

"I'm going to distract the beast so you two can escape," she said.

"What?! You can't! You'll get killed!" Chelsea shouted, trying to convince her leader out of this.

"This is not up to debate. This is an absolute order. So get going. Now!" Najenda yelled sternly at her absolute seriousness.

"But-"

"No buts!" Najenda shouted, interrupting Chelsea. "I've seen too many of my subournites-my children die by this bastard. I won't allow it kill anymore. Even if my death will be in vain, this is something a leader must do. So just get out of here!"

Tatsumi and Chelsea stood there as they tried to say something to convince her otherwise. But nothing came into mind. There thoughts were interrupted as they hear Doomsday's roar, signaling that it was done with killing its prey. Hearing this, the two, ungrudging, had no choice but to leave. As Chelsea held onto Tatsumi to help him, the boy turned to Najenda. "Boss, it was an honor to serve under you."

"Same goes with me," Chelsea spoke out.

Najenda stood there taken back by this before warmly smile back at them. "I feel the same as well."

With that, Chelsea and Tatsumi run off deeper into the alley until they disappear. Najenda stood there silently as she turned around to the other end of the alley. To face against the monstrosity. Doomsday slowly entered the alley as it paid its attention at the Nightraid leader, ready to kill her. Najenda stood there, body shaking by the rage and bloodlust aura the beast was emitting. But she stood her ground as she had to provide her comrades as much time as possible to get away. Even if it meant if she died in the process.

Acting quickly, Najenda raised her prosthetic arm and fired her mechanical hand, punching Doomsday in the face. However, the attack did nothing, not even flinching the beast in the slightest. Seeing as it was its turn, the Ultimate grabbed the hand and pulls Najenda to it. Once close up, the monster headbutted the Nightraid leader while tearing her prosthetic arm off. Najenda yelled in pain as she walked back, her head bleeding and disoriented from the impact. As she tried to get her senses back to normal, it had already been too late. Doomsday grabbed Najenda by the waist and then shoved her prosthetic arm into her mouth.

The creature used its strength to shove the mechanical arm further down as it passed through the throat into the woman's stomach. Najenda gagged horrible in pain as she felt pieces of metal from her mechanical arm pierce through many parts of her inner body. The Nightraid leader let out very little blood due to the state is was in. Seeing as the woman was a dead man, Doomsday let her fall to the ground and choke to death. After all, there were two more people the beast wanted to kill and it wasn't going to let them escape.

Back with Tatsumi and Chelsea, they were still running away towards the safe zone. However, they were moving very slowly die to Tatsumi not being able to push himself due to the wounds. So they had to stay at a pace where he wouldn't suffer too much. Deep in their minds, the assassins knew that this whole thing was just them delaying the inevitable. They were going to die. But a part of them, for some reason, still kept on trying to make it out of all this. To survive.

But those thoughts were gotten rid of as Doomsday appeared in front of Tatsumi and Chelsea, forcing them towards the ground. The two looked at the growling beast with fear as they knew what was going to happen. They were going to die. But then suddenly, Tatsumi slowly stood up as he pulled out the damaged Incursio sword. Getting in a fighting stance.

"Chelsea, I need you to run. Get to the safe zone," he uttered seriously.

"What?" she whispered.

"I'll distract the bastard," Tatsumi replied.

"Yo-you can't be serious," Chelsea uttered in shock.

"I am. So just go." Without wasting another second, Tatsumi charged and swung his teigu sword at Doomsday. But the attack did nothing as the blade bounce off the beast's skin. The teen swung his sword again but once more, it did nothing. Even worse, he was already losing so much stamina from using his weapon alone.

Deciding it saw enough, the Ultimate used its fingers and flicked Tatsumi to the ground. The teen's face was in pain as he coughed out some blood as he dropped his sword. Despite this, he tried to get up and continue to fight. But then, Doomsday stepped onto his left arm, snapping every bone within into pieces. The creature smiled in delight as it heard Tatsumi scream in agony from this. The beast even scrape its foot against the broken arm, turning it into a bloody paste on the ground. The pain was becoming too much for Tatsumi to bear as he felt like he was about to go unconscious from it all.

As the Walking War Machine was about to continue, the creature was hit by a rock thrown at it. Doomsday turned to where the attack came from and saw Chelsea, looking at the beast with defiance, challenging it even. She even through around rock at it as it gently bounce off its body. Seeing that the boy was broken down to escape, the Ultimate decided it kill the defiant girl. Slowly walking towards Chelsea, Doomsday grew out its bone claws to use to end her life.

"Tatsumi," Chelsea spoke out clearly, getting the boy's attention as he slowly looks at her. "Remember what I said I had something to tell you? I might as well say it now."

"Out of all the events I've experienced in life, being around you was the absolute best thing for me," Chelsea said, looking at Tatsumi with a warm smile as tears fell out of her eyes. "It's no wonder...why I fell in love with you."

Hearing that brought Tatsumi into tears. To think Chelsea would confess her love to him. He felt really happy about it. But it was replaced by sadness as he knew that they wouldn't have a chance to show that love to each other. He and she were going to die.

With that confession told, Chelsea looked by at Doomsday as the creature was now in front of her. As the Ultimate position its bone claws towards her heart, Chelsea simply closed her eyes, waiting for the inevitable.

And in quick session, Doomsday move its bone blades at its target to deliver the killing blow. And then...

Aaaaaaaannnnnnnd that's a wrap. I left you all on a massive cliffhanger here. I know a lot of people are going to be pissed off by this. But anyway, we are actually on the finale of this fanfic. The next chapter will be a final battle against Doomsday. So I hope I can satisfy you all when we get there.

Also, I want to make an announcement. I have been told that the first few chapters of this fanfic are terrible. And I agree, considering that I was getting used to writing stories for the first time. So to fix this, I would like a beta reader or two to fix up chapters 1 through 5. You'll get full credit for doing so. I hope one of you is willing to help me here as I want my readers to get a better experience with this story and not read this, feeling like a 5-year-old wrote the first 5 chapters. Contact me through my PM if any of you are interested.

With all that out of the way, let's do the next:

The plan failed. The grenade did nothing to stop Doomsday as the creature came back from the dead and continued wreaking havoc and death. With nothing left in their arsenal, this seems like the end for Tatsumi and Chelsea. Is there any hope for them in stopping this, let alone survive?

Find out in the next chapter of the Empire's Doomsday.
