Rise Of G-Morph And The Amazing Spider-Man by Amit Barabi:
Here is a summary for those who read this story on their phone's browser:
Eunice chooses Gwen Stacy as the successor of the Hero Of Heroes, Ben Tennyson. Please read and enjoy her origin as the heroine, G-Morph, and her ever-growing adventure with her arachnoid boyfriend, Spider-Man. This story is mainly based on the movies The Amazing Spider-Man and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it also has some original ideas. Peter and Gwen are pairing. I was inspired by The Incredible Muffin's My Alien Academia and Ben 10: Unlimited. This story was originally titled "Wristed Heroes." This is the first story of my big planned series, Amit's Cinematic Universe, or A.C.U. for short.
Ben 10 does not belong to me. Spider-Man does not belong to me. The way I make them interact with each other does belong to me.
In the memory of Schmoozy, my beloved cat. You will never be forgotten.
Chapter 11: Answers.
"... Then my aunt told me she saw blue tentacles phasing through my uncle's hospital wall and that the doctors declared his condition a miracle," Peter recapped as Gwen drove them to Oscorp Tower. With Alien V gone, Gwen could devote more attention to helping her boyfriend, and until Omnitrix fixes itself, the best way to do so was helping Peter learn what Oscorp plans and stop it, "It happened a few hours after Tennyson saved me from that monster. I can't believe he healed him again after I lost the formula to..."
"Alien V," Gwen filled the name gap and did not claim glory for her action, "Be- Magistratus Tennyson killed him and showed me the... evidence... to his death before he..." She paused again. Without the full context, she could make things worse by implying that Ben did not care or that she broke the device before it could complete its purpose, "Helped your uncle. He did not mention finding any notes on Alien V, so he had to hand your dad's formula to Connors before they fought. How is he, by the way?"
"The doctors told my aunt that he had no chance to last a week before last night, but after Tennyson came there as that healing jellyfish, they predicted that he would wake up in a few weeks and make a partial recovery and... Wait how did you know you met him before he healed my uncle?
"About that... Last week, I found that-"
"Stop the car!" Peter shouted, causing Gwen to hit the brakes next to an F.E.A.S.T. Center and nearly get hit from behind by another car. Peter left the vehicle and ran somewhere before Gwen could ask what happened.
'Every time! Every damn time!' At this point, Gwen started to believe that someone out there prevented her from telling her boyfriend about the Omnitrix.
The driver behind her was a young man with short black hair who flashed her an apology smile and drove off.
It took Gwen a few minutes to park her car and look for her boyfriend. Once she found him, he wore his mask and gloves and stood in front of a webbed man who looked like the guy who shot his uncle while helping an old man whom she suspected was attacked by the blonde and younger man. She kept her distance and stayed out of the man's view.
She glanced at the Omnitrix still in [Recharge Mode] and noticed a timer that would last until after arriving at work before seeing a cop from her dad's precinct getting closer to the scene. She had no idea what to do next and felt overwhelmed by the situation. Peter had just rescued an old man from the blonde mugger, but his approach was too aggressive for her taste. In other words, he was the hero the old man needed, but by attacking the mugger he also interfered in police affairs. It was vigilanteism, but it was the necessary action to take. It gave her a lot to think of later, but she had to act now to save him from being on the wrong side of the law.
She thought quickly and saw an old woman aggressively stealing a slightly younger guy's car key. Gwen shouted what she saw and drew the cop's attention, allowing Peter to escape the situation unnoticed.
The cop restrained the female thief and returned the key to the victim. While looking at the arrest, Gwen realized that the only differences between the cop she recognized and her boyfriend were the level of brutality and the authority. Perhaps, if Peter can reduce his brutality, he can be her role model when she starts helping people.
"Again, you two?" The cop asked while tightening the handcuffs around the old woman's wrists, "Carol Danvers, you are under arrest. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say could be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to..."
"This isn't over, Don!" Carol shouted, "I had it with you volunteering at that stinking F.E.A.S.T. Center and making everyone smile!"
"Maybe I want to feel like my efforts are worth something to someone!" Don shouted, "Can you at least smile at the nice policeman?"
'What is these two's dynamic?' Gwen wondered, 'Are they neighbors or something?'
The officer sighed, "Do you want to charge her this time, sir?"
"No, I think she learned her lesson," Don said.
"Fine," The policeman uncuffed Carol, who glared at Don, "But you two should either get a couple's therapy or get a divorce."
Gwen's eyes widen at that. Were they married?! What was the story behind this issue?!
...
Once the two teens were back in Gwen's car, with Peter keeping his mask in his backpack, Gwen let out a breath she did not know she held.
"That was intense."
"Thanks for the warning," Peter smiled, "I didn't see that cop when I chased that mugger."
"How does it feel after you do it?" Gwen asked, "You know it's against the law, but you have to believe it is the right thing to do, right?"
"I just want to prevent others from going through what I have," He answered, "If I have the power to do good things for others, then it is my moral obligation to do those things."
"It sounds deep, but I need to understand the feeling."
"Well, think of how you have stopped Flash from continuing to beat me. You had nothing to do with the situation and nothing to gain from helping me. Still, you did it anyway because it was the right thing to do, and waiting for an authority figure to get involved while surrendering the situation to their judgment could backfire in more than one way."
Gwen thought about it momentarily before replying, "It's not that I don't think police officers can't make mistakes, but what about the risks? You could have gotten caught."
"Did I make you worry?"
"Of course you did!" Gwen raised her voice, "You made me stop driving in the middle of the street and jumped into a dangerous action without telling me what happened! I could have been more helpful if you let me in the loop!"
"I... I have been open with you ever since we started talking. You knew my secret since before we became a couple and did not tell me that you knew on top of whatever your connection to Tennyson is. Are you sure it is just about me?"
Gwen took a deep breath, "I'm sorry. You did not deserve it. I just... I have never been in a relationship, let alone with a superhero. It is all new to me, and there is so much I want to share with you without overwhelming you with that knowledge, and whenever I get the right moment to tell you a piece of it, something comes out of nowhere."
"Can you tell me now, or should I wait to meet Tennyson tomorrow and cross notes with you later?"
Gwen was about to drop one of the bombs when they arrived at Oscorp Tower.
"After work. I don't know who could listen to us in there, and we still need to see what damage Alien V made."
"I am fine with that."
...
Peter was the first to exit the car and immediately regretted it when he saw Felicia.
She wore the same makeup as the last time he saw her, a long body-fitting buttoned-up black shirt that showed cleavage, jeans, and high heels.
"Oh, fuck."
"If you insist, cutie. But why didn't you call me?" She asked with a smile while getting within his personal space, "Did you lose my number or something?"
Although she did not approach him with the intention of physical harm, Peter's Spider-Sense showed how dangerous the situation was. Gwen seemed to have parked her car too close to the one next to the driver's side, making her try to exit through a different door, unaware of what happened outside.
"I told you that I am seeing someone," He claimed hesitantly as she got closer while trying not to look lower than her face, "Can you just leave me alone?"
"You didn't complain when you stared at my boobs for a good while," Felicia countered while unbuttoning the top button of her shirt, "Do you need a reminder of that good feeling?"
Gwen finally exited her car, seeing a girl in her twenties trying to shove her oversized bust onto her boyfriend's face.
"S-stay away from my bo-boyfriend, y-you..." Gwen stammered, "Booby monster!"
Felicia put herself in a position that allowed her to shift her attention to Gwen without letting Peter escape without using force. She had his back pressed against the rear of Gwen's car with her right leg and left arm blocking his path while pressing their pelvis areas and pressing the tips of her floaters against his chest. She could feel her effect on him, and it made her feel proud of how little work she needed with this guy when he had already dated someone who could rival her beauty in a year or two.
"Oh, so you are real," Felicia chuckled, "Also, 'booby monster'? What are you twelve?" Felicia stated while pressing her hips further against his, giving him a shock that prevented him from speaking, "It doesn't feel like he hates it. Can you do what I can with those small grapes?"
Gwen's face reddened with rage and embarrassment and she heard the Omnitrix beeping back into [Active Mode]. That woman insulted her biggest insecurities and made a move on her boyfriend shamelessly, but before she could act on her anger, Peter pushed Felicia away and made her fall on her back.
"Enough, Felicia!" Peter declared.
"Fine," Felicia got back to her feet with surprising agility, "I will let you go for now, but when that flat nerd leaves you, you will be mine."
Felicia walked to her car and drove away.
Peter let out a sigh of relief. He did not know if he could intimidate Felicia without making a mistake. Perhaps, it was a mistake, and she would turn it against him or Gwen later, but right now, he stopped her from doing something that would scar him for life, and he had enough of those scars.
He turned to Gwen who covered her chest and still blushed, "Are you okay?"
"I am fine," She lied, "We need to get to work."
...
The two entered the elevator and inserted their desired floor. They did not look at each other in the eye or speak. Felicia made things awkward between them and caused each of them to feel uncomfortable in at least one way.
Regardless of the issues Felicia caused in less than a minute of showing off and insulting Gwen, the couple followed the plan; Gwen helped Connors minimize the potential side effects of the Lizard serum while Peter worked on an anti-serum in case it would be weaponized. Connors caught up on Peter's actions, but the teen excused it as a legal failsafe if any patient developed an allergic reaction and their family sued Oscorp. Eventually, the three managed to reduce the casualty rate in the simulation to 1 out of 10 lab rats, and out of the survivors, only 1 out of 5 showed green hairless skin.
With the awkwardness caused on the parking floor, the teenagers missed Doctor Connors injecting a real rat with the serum until he brought it up.
The way back to Gwen's car was slightly less awkward. Still, without work distracting them, Gwen felt her insecurities resurface and Peter felt his guilt over not pushing Felicia away sooner.
"So..." Peter started, "Are we going to talk about earlier?"
"Nope," Gwen replied as she started the engine. She did not blame Peter for Felicia's slutty actions, but she did not want to talk about her small bust either. She was not entirely flat, but she was below her school's average and barely in her general age's average. It created insecurities in her mind that Felicia exploited.
"How about this?" Peter suggested, "I will meet Tennyson tomorrow morning in the old factory to get some answers. Do you want to come? I'm sure you, too, have some questions for him?"
If Gwen looked uncomfortable earlier, she seemed outright terrified now. She looked at the self-repairing Omnitrix and returned her focus to the way. If Ben learns about her breaking the Omnitrix and putting Eunice in a coma, he may arrest or execute her, and she doubts that she and Peter could stand a chance in that scenario.
"I've got... homework," It was not a lie, but she did not wish to risk angering the Omnimaster.
Peter prepared soup for his aunt and put on his mask, gloves, and web-shooters before leaving. He practiced swinging around in less populated areas in the hope of finding the shooter, but he had no luck. He couldn't find any criminals that matched the shooter's description, which was to be expected since none of the maps Ben Tennyson gave him marked that area.
Peter arrived at the old Stark Factory, but the shape-shifting hero he was looking for was not there. To pass the time, he decided to practice his stealthy wall-crawling or third-floor ceiling-crawling. He realized that he could walk upside-down as he normally would, but his balance was poor and his breathing and steps were too loud for his liking. When he started crawling like a spider, he found it better for stealthy reasons. Then he spotted a short human girl almost directly below him on the first floor, but he didn't believe she noticed him.
The girl was shorter than Gwen and had black hair, jeans, a brown top, and a military-green jacket with red stripes. She had a rifle strapped to her back that looked like a crossbow. Peter realized that she wasn't a random civilian or Ben Tennyson. He decided to lower himself to the second floor using a web string and observe her. Although he was fast, he wasn't sure if he could dodge whatever projectile she could fire from that cross rifle if she felt threatened.
The girl tapped her foot on the ground as if waiting for something. Then, she began performing a series of movements with her unusual rifle. Peter could only describe it as a kata, which grew progressively stranger as the girl moved. The rifle transformed into different tools and weapons during the performance, complementing her moves.
After finishing her task, the girl noticed him, "You must be the guy I'm supposed to meet!" She exclaimed cheerfully, "You can either come down here, or I can come up there!" and pointed towards the alien rifle she had strapped to her back.
Peter dived to the first floor and shot a web string to the beam he sat at earlier to slow down his fall. He could take the fall in a superhero landing but chose to be more careful.
"Who are you?" Peter asked.
"Hey, I love your spider theme. My name is Rook Schmooze," The girl smiled and offered a hand to shake, "I work for the Omnimaster."
When Peter did not shake her hand, she assumed he quirked an eyebrow under his red mask and clarified, "He also goes by Majistratus Ben Tennyson."
"That is a strange name you've got there. What is going on?"
"Ben could not come here. It has something to do with searching for the best way to heal someone from your world without leaving a trace," Rook Schmooze ignored the comment about her name, "He told me to meet a meta-human with spider powers and dates a girl named-"
"Hold on!" Peter cut her off with a timeout sign, "What do you mean by 'my world', and what is the deal with your name and Tennyson's monster forms? I need answers. Are you one of these monsters?"
Rook Schmooze stared directly into his covered eyes. Her gleeful smile dropped. It became obvious that she did not like being called a monster.
"Fine, whatever!" She accepted his terms, "I will answer any question you have. And since you saw through my disguise..." She grabbed and pulled off a previously unseen plastic-looking patch from her forehead, and in a moment, she revealed her true form. Her hair, facial structure, and athletic body shape remained the same, but the similarities to her human disguise ended there.
Rook Schmooze had white fur, cat-like ears on the sides of her head, and a black furry tail. She wore form-fitting black space armor, which did not look like anything he saw in Star Wars, with barely attached white plates on the chest and thighs.
"Is this monstrous enough for you?" She asked, offended while gesturing at her whole body. When Peter did not answer, she refocused on her mission, "So, what do you want to know?"
"You're an alien... I'm sorry," Peter apologized while checking out her alien quirks and nothing else, "The last week was stressful, and I... This my first time talking to... whatever you are."
"I am reincarnated albino sub-species Revonnahgander. As much as I know, I am the only one of my kind among my people. It is a weird mutation, but it has many perks. Most notably, my fur is white, I am shorter, and I get to keep my tail post-puberty."
Peter was surprised by the beginning and end of her statement but could only ask one question to sum it all up for now, "Does it... fall naturally, or do you need to..." He made a chopping motion with his hand.
Schmooze's smile returned, "It's the first one. So, what questions do you have that are not about my biology?" She saw his gaze shifting and realized what he was about to ask, "Or my kata and weapon. I have the whole day and was instructed to keep those for last."
"Okay," Peter took a deep breath, "I get that Tennyson wants me and Gwen safe, but what... who is he, and what does he want from us?"
Rook's eyes widened, 'If he does not know about Ben's Omnitrix, then it must mean that the successor has not told him yet about herself. To a degree, it explains why he came alone. It is not my place to tell him about her when he considers non-humans as monsters, but I have my duty. Let's see how much I can answer before I have no choice.'
"Ben Tennyson is the most capable superhero I have ever met. That Hero of Heroes uses a Level-20 piece of tech named the Omnitrix to save lives, protect those who can't protect themselves, and stop all kinds of evil across multiple universes. As you know, I am not a human, and neither are any of the inhuman life forms you saw him turn into. Do you follow me so far?"
"It's a lot to take in, but I think I can manage. This multiverse bull crap, which I only believe because there is no other explanation to this mess, explains why I couldn't find anything about those aliens until he healed my uncle two days ago and fell to the streets as an orange alien dog. Still, why is he so fixated on me and my girlfriend? What did that other shape-shifter want with her? Is he your hero's evil twin or a counterpart from another universe who had had too many bad days?"
"I will try to make some sense in your theories. Okay?" She tried to calm him down, "The Omnimaster provided the device that improved your uncle's condition the night he saved you from Alien V, but he was not the one who performed the healing. There are only two functional Omnitrixes in reality, and Alien V did not use one. Ben gave the chest-healing device to his successor on this Earth, and they healed your uncle."
"It still doesn't explain how Alien-V turned into those mo... aliens, but what about that successor?" Peter kept asking, "Why choose someone from a universe that doesn't concern you if you already have people working under you? Also, who is this successor, and what does this omnitrick look... like? Oh my god!"
"What is it?"
"I think I know who the Omnimaster's successor is," He wandered around for nearly a moment, "It all makes sense now!"
"Is it?" The albino Revonnahgander asked, "Are you not angry?"
"It doesn't matter how I feel. I only need to know what that Omnitrix looks like."
"It has many forms, but I usually see it as a silver disk with a green hourglass..." She was unsure what his conclusion was, and his red mask made his expression hard to read, so she played it safe, "Do you have any more questions?"
"Yes," Peter said, "Can you help me expose what Oscorp did 13 years ago?"
"I don't know what Oscorp is, but I can tell it took someone from you," She said sympathetically, "And it is not the only one."
"How can you tell?"
"Because I lost many loved ones in my first life," She explained, "My first parents were killed by a madman who gained power from killing. When he was about to kill the woman who saved me, he died while stabbing the first man I loved. Over a year later, most of my loved ones were killed, and my mentor and father figure became a being of rage and vengeance. We never made up for our differences by the time I was murdered by..." She paused, "The point is, I know what loss feels like, and I will do what I can to help you."
She offered her hand for him to shake.
"Then maybe you should know who asked for your help," He took off his mask and shook her hand, "My name is Peter Parker."
...
1 hour later.
Peter struggled back to his feet. Rook reminded him that she would leave by the end of the day for an indefinite while, and therefore could not help him take down Oscorp directly. Instead, she revealed to him that Kang-Fu-Ru's tail attack was not purely biological. One could learn this energy manipulation attack regardless of their species, though humans usually struggle to utilize it effectively without harming themselves. She could not teach him what she knew in a day, not even the basics, but she could teach him how to fight better.
Several questions about her kata, the Dancing Shooter, and weapon, the Proto-Bow, from before led to several sparing battles that always ended with Peter's defeat.
"What are these moves? I couldn't even lay a finger on you."
"I told you. A former assassin trained me since I was 17 in my first life, and I practiced these moves and new ones since my reincarnation."
"I think it is time to take a break... and talk about that," Peter breathed heavily, "You could catch your breath and rest from..."
"From beating up a meta-human twice my size?" Schmooze asked mockingly, "Yeah, I can catch my breath."
"What is the deal with your... rebirth?" Peter asked, "Is it common where you are from?"
"No," Schmooze replied, "I am a special case. I was murdered during a four-year-long tragedy that took place a long time ago. They called it The Omniverse War. One of the greatest and most brutal factions of that war experimented on its victims' bodies and souls to triple their manpower and empower them. I was one of the unfortunate ones and spent hundreds of years in a containment unit that gradually damaged my soul after my original body was used for more murders. It was only 18 years ago when my killer's child found a good use for me and used my remaining soul fragment to save a dying baby in her dead mother's womb."
"Oh my... Holly crap!"
"I know it is hard to believe, but it is true. I did not have most of my memories when I was reborn, but they returned to me over time, and by the time I met Ben again, I already knew who I..."
"Hold on!" Peter could finally stand up, "Ignoring how cheery you are after everything claim you've gone through, I met this Omnimaster in his human form a few days ago, and he did NOT sound or look much older than me. How could you know him in both your lives if you were in a jar for hundreds of years?"
"Seriously?" Schmooze asked while crossing her arms under her impressive chest. To the kid's credit, he took better than she expected, "I am a reincarnated alien from another universe that survived a multiverse-destroying war, and you draw the line on the most powerful being you met living for so long?"
"I am just a strong guy who sticks to walls, and I only got my powers less than a week ago!" Peter exclaimed, "Going from hunting down a damn shooter and exposing a big company to... this... is a huge leap of faith!"
"Well, I can't say that I don't relate," Schmooze said as she pulled a private refrigerator seemingly out of nowhere, "It's not that I want to withhold information from you, but there is only so much I can teach you about all of this in one day, and I also want to help you with your hunt. I think we can get that guy once you are back to 100%. Eat something and make sure your web-shooters are loaded. We will go in 10 minutes."
Two men who resembled the shooter fought one another. The source of their fight did not matter. What mattered was where their fight headed by the time they intended to use lethal weapons as soon as one of them drew a gun and the other a knife, they fell to their knees to the sonic waves aimed at them. Before any of them could make a move, their weapons were taken away by two individuals who pinned them to different walls and restrained them.
"None of them has the tattoo," A young man in a black jacket and a red mask said to his partner, "Where should we go next?"
"There," The other person pointed at a holographic map. She was a short girl with a black mask covering her face's top half.
...
Another man, one who had shorter hair than the shooter, robbed someone. He escaped from the cops when an orange energy blast struck his back and temporarily neutralized his nervous system. He did not see the shooter, but he saw a man in a red mask checking his wrist before knocking him out. When he woke up, he was webbed to a fat cop's car who barely made enough arrests last year.
...
Captain Stacy discussed something with one of his detectives in his office.
"We've got the criminals, but someone else already neutralized them by the time we have arrived."
"Do you have any description?" The captain asked, "Any witnesses, testimony, records?"
"Um, no..." She said, "He... he wore a mask, and I suspect he does not work alone."
"A mask?" The captain asked with an amused smile. It was probably another Iron Man fan.
"Yes, but most of his victims are either escaped fugitives or suspects with rap sheets," The detective continued, "If I may, that guy seems to have an effective method of tracking them down. He took down at least twenty of them today and these are just the guys we know of. If this vigilante can contact us, he can be an asset to the force."
"Okay, he is not a vigilante, and he is not on my recruit list, Watanabe. This isn't the wild west," George put his detective in her place, "He is an anarchist, and if he messes with our arrests, we need to take him in."
Before the conversation continued, a bang was from the lobby floor. The two ran outside, where they saw almost a hundred criminals, most of whom looked vaguely similar and were webbed to one another in groups of 10.
"Help me!" A claustrophobic one shouted, "Arrest me! Get me away from them!"
Detective Yuri Watanabe called several uniformed cops to help her handcuff the familiar criminals and take statements from them. On the other hand, the Captain focused on the masked man swinging away on wires that came out of his wrists as he landed somewhere and talked to someone shorter behind a building's corner.
It got dark, and Schmooze needed to return to her universe, which Peter still struggled to accept.
"I'm sorry we couldn't find your guy, Peter," She said with sympathy. They both sat at the edge of a tall building. It wasn't dangerous to them since one could stick to walls and the other had a grapple, "But hey, at least we saved some lives and cleaned the streets from some crime."
Peter nodded. He knew she was right, but... "Ben would have wanted me to use my power to take down that guy."
Unsure of which Ben Peter just referred to, Rook decided to share an important detail about her hero.
"Did you know my Ben did not rise as a hero out of trauma like us?" Much to Peter's surprise, she asked, "He was already a great hero when I met him, but when I asked, he told me that he was just a kid with a good heart who found an alien watch and used his new powers to help others. It is probably not too far from his successor. I always envied him for that more than I did for his powers. It took the loss of my first family to fight crime, and even when I gave up my revenge and focused on helping people, I could never be as good as he was until... you know..."
"Yeah, I know," Peter replied, "Thanks for the help. I will find that guy, but helping others felt good, too."
"Good. You should not tie your hope to his capturing. It will never end if you do. I have to thank you, too," She smiled. When Peter gave her a confused look, she explained, "I worked under the Plumber protocol for a while. You reminded me what it felt like to take down bad guys the old-fashioned way..." She paused, "Back when I was human."
"What?! Are you serious?! Why didn't you use a human name when we met this morning?"
"Believe it or not, I was so used to my new name that I forgot to use my old one for cover," She replied bluntly and innocently.
"But you do remember it, right?" Peter asked.
"Yeah, of course," Schmooze replied, "My original name was..." She paused again. It did not look like she struggled to remember, but she had a different reason to hesitate, "Evelyn Sharp."
"Well, it was nice knowing you, Eve-"
"Don't," She cut him off, "Evelyn died long ago. She will always be a part of me, but she is no longer who I am."
Peter nodded, "It was a pleasure knowing you, Schmooze. I will miss you."
"I will miss you, too," She replied, hugging him. "I am sorry, but I must leave you so soon. I know life can get hard, but it is my time to go. Promise me that you will hold on to your loved ones and tell them how much they mean to you in your darkest times. I can't stay, but I hope our time together made things easier for you. I will never forget you."
She glowed briefly before she disappeared.
"Goodbye, Schmooze."
Author's Notes:
Let's talk about Rook Schmooze. She was planned very early in this story, but since my cat, Schmoozy, died during this chapter's production, I decided to enlarge her role. The last scene represents the goodbye I did not get to share with my cat before she left to die alone. We have spent nineteen years together, and I will miss her.

In case I don't explore Evelyn's backstory later, here is a summary:
Until the point Laurel was supposed to die, events happened like in canon. When Ben died temporarily instead, Evelyn's life changed from canon. Laurel caught Evelyn stealing food from a restaurant's garbage and offered her a place to stay. By the time Arrow season 5 started, Evelyn lived with Laurel regularly and got to admire her and Oliver, who got into a new relationship with Laurel. When Laurel and Evelyn were ambushed by a common thief, Evelyn showed the spark of a hero and a strong (but flawed) sense of justice. Oliver just started to struggle to balance his life with his duty as the Green Arrow, and Laurel and Oliver chose that opportunity to train and mentor the teen to replace Laurel as the Black Canary. Evelyn did not feel worthy of the title due to her character flaws surfacing during her training and chose a different persona as the Green Canary.
When Prometheus tried to recruit Evelyn to harm Oliver, she acted as a triple agent. She fed him false information and tried to learn what she could about his identity. However, he, too, fed her false information and killed all of Oliver's loved ones minus Evelyn, resulting in Oliver becoming a Red Lantern at the end of season 5.
Oliver and Evelyn kept helping each other for several more years, but they never felt as close as they used to. Eventually, they both died during the Omniverse War, and Evelyn's soul was kept for research by her killer until she was given a second chance as Rook Schmooze.
...
I consider this to be Gwenter's first argument. They may act more maturely than most couples can't always see eye-to-eye.
I made my first cameo in this story. Did you notice me?
Curtis looked at the simulator's data and the lab rat. There was still a chance for failure, but his hopes skyrocketed when he saw the results; The serum worked.
"So close."
He stared at his missing right arm and played with the reflection of his left one to see the illusion of having both. he had done it often since losing his arm, but more frequently recently. His temptation matched his hope as he stared at the equipment.
"One more step."
