Sniffy is a golden niffler and Rodion's animal companion. He has golden brown fur, cream underbelly, black paws, and brown eyes.
Unlike most of his kind, Sniffy is uninterested in shiny objects. He is a rare species of niffler that takes pride in their shiny coat (which he has no interest in either). Sniffy is kind and helpful with his super sense of smell. Sniffy is first seen with his head stuck in a mouse trap, after Rody hears a snapping sound and finds the creature struggling and possibly suffocating. Disgusted at the trap, Rody frees the poor thing and comforts it.
Unlike others of his kind, Sniffy has no interest in shiny things or himself. He is sweet, friendly, and always enjoys snuggling. He's also very manipulative, although he almost never means to be. Most enemies find him too adorable to harm, giving the Skyhawks an advantage with their adorable distraction to slip past enemies or attack them stealthily. Despite this, Sniffy can also be surprisingly violent such as biting someone's finger and growling viciously.
Sniffy as sharp claws, enabling him to dig through tough material.
He's also alert and very chirpy when he senses danger.
Being a tiny animal, Sniffy can easily slip through the tightest cracks and find his way in the dark.
