A/N: I know it's been an eternity since I updated this story, but I started working to help my mother with the house bills, so I haven't had time to write. Plus, I'm starting to teach myself how to video edit through APP and have uploaded the fruits of that labor on my YT page. I'm currently doing a Master Mode run of Sifu and have the footage for The Squats. All that's left is for me to edit it and upload it.
To hold you all off for a bit since the next chapter is in the works, I'm going to give you a teaser of the new character that'll be introduced in this Arc. See you all soon.
Random Back Alley in Chaosrealm, 2:00 A.M.
?'s POV
It's 2:00 A.M.
Havik's broken body lies before me as I sit on a bench watching him bleed to death. I left him with more holes than a bad film's plot. He was planning to resurrect Shinnok, and we couldn't have that. I don't want to be in the Chaosrealm as the entire atmosphere makes me uneasy and on edge. The light green sky, floating coffins, and the eerily designed buildings. The passersby who find no problem with Havik's body slowly lose the light of life most of all.
"Who the... Hell are you?" Havik demanded.
I chuckle before drinking my milkshake. "I'm your death, dipwad. Maybe if you didn't have such a hard-on for chaos, you wouldn't be dying in your own realm," I answered. "Also, don't ask me such a stupid question, Havik. You're smarter than that."
I looked at the remains of my milkshake and saw that there was nothing else in the cup. I toss it aside as my pocket radio starts buzzing.
"Mulan? Is it done?"
"Yeah, Aniki. Havik's almost dead."
"Almost? I thought you said you were going to deal with him quickly?"
"I did, but then I thought of what he did in the past timelines I've been. He made things personal in those instances, so I wanted to make him suffer. In hindsight, if I wanted him to suffer, I would've just killed him quickly."
"Plus the act won't feel earned since he doesn't know of what he did in those past timelines."
Wait, Aniki is right.
"Ah, shit. Now I really should have killed him quickly. At least we won't have to worry about Shinnok coming back. For now, anyway, some dumbass is going to want to play god again at some point."
"Comes with the territory. Can't have good without evil, Yin without Yang, the whole nine."
"So it does," I respond before brightening up some. "Are we still up for that trip to the Ramen stand on 45th with Chizuru-nee?"
"Maybe if it was still open. But it's 2:00 AM and I had to stay up while Chizuru went to sleep because you took so fucking long."
"Oh, God Fucking Damnit!" I yelled, which caused me to look around to see if anyone who would still be alive in a few hours had heard me. I was in the clear.
"Oop. Sorry, Aniki. I was looking forward to it, y'know?"
"We can take you tomorrow. Finish Havik off and get back to the Agency."
"Alright, Aniki. See you soon."
I gazed at my target before brandishing my Ruger Blackhawk Revolver. "Well, Havik. This is it. Any final words?"
"Who the…. Hell are you?"
I scoff at this idiot's persistence. Might as well humor him. "Name's Maddox. Mulan Maddox. " I revealed before cocking the revolver and shot him in the head.
I went to leave but turned back and shot him again. And again. And again until my clip was emptied.
I emptied the clip before refilling it and holstering my firearm. It was finally time to leave. On the way, an idea popped into my head as I grabbed my pocket radio.
"Hey, Aniki."
"Yes, Mulan?"
"Y'mind if I make a quick detour to Moms? Think they have the right to know and if today's the day I think it is, something bad just went down in California."
"Sure. Just make sure when you come back you do it quietly since I'm going to lock the door."
"Aright, Aniki. See ya later."
I wonder how Mom and Dad are going to react. I wonder if Dakini told them, Uncle Benji, Aunt JJ, or Auntie Sareena about me. Oh, well. We're going to see in a minute. Well, maybe one more milkshake won't hurt.
