Last time, Team Mystic was able to meet the third duelist of Team Fanrong: Muyang. Marcus challenged him because he was annoyed with Muyang's laidback personality and lack of respect. Although, Muyang proved why he's so cocky as he completely beat Marcus. Wanting a rematch, Marcus is pumped for his battle against Muyang as the Worldwide Supreme Tournament is about to begin for them.
"Welcome, one and all!" China had their own version of M.C. as he was a fellow local. "It's now time for the Worldwide Supreme Tournament to get underway! It's the biggest dueling competition in the whole world! Duelists from all around will be competing against each other to see who is the best of the best in the whole world! It's also going to be broadcast all around the world for all to see!" It was true as the tournament was being broadcast all around. Everyone in Lustrous City was cheering for Team Mystic while the crowd in the stadium was rooting for Team Fanrong. "It's now time to begin an exciting match! We have our very own Team Fanrong!"
"Team Fanrong! Team Fanrong!" Yuxuan, Jaw-Long, Muyan, and their manager Li-Jing all stood on one side as they were ready for battle.
"Their opponents came a long way. Let's give a nice welcome to Team Mystic!" M.C. announced. Team Mystic was on the other side. The crowd was more settle as they certainly wanted Team Fanrong to win.
"It's finally starting!" Yukina said as they were all excited.
"Yeah, but it sure doesn't sound like the crowd is with us." Kent said.
"We're on Team Fanrong's home turf. Of course they be more supportive to them." Felix said.
"Who cares? They'll be cheering for us once we win." Marcus said.
"Both team have already submitted their official battle orders! So we already know who will be facing who!" M.C. announced. "The first match is set to be Muyang of Team Fanrong going up against Marcus of Team Mystic!"
"Keep your guard up, Muyang." Li-Jing said.
"Indeed. Marcus will surely want redemption for your last defeat." Yuxuan said.
"Chill out. I beat once, I'll beat him again." Muyang said. "This won't take long." He claimed as he walked out on the field. As one could tell, the girls were loving that he was going first.
"Boy, it sounds like we're at some boy band concert." Cindy said.
"The difference is that there's nothing fake about this guy." Felix said.
"No worries. I'm going to pluck his little birdies' feathers this time." Marcus said as he was ready to go.
"Marcus, wait a second." Yukina said. "I understand you're eager to get back at this guy, but keep your focus. Remember that you're not just dueling for yourself out there."
"Relax. I'm not going to lose to him again." Marcus said as he was sure he would win this time and hurried out for his battle. He was looking to get some serious payback at him from before. "Get ready, Muyang! There's no way I'm going to lose to you this time!"
"You really need to learn to chill out and quit getting so worked up." Muyang said. "Well, we might as well just get this over with."
"Just wait and see! It's not going to go like last time! Let's go!" Marcus said as he got his duel disk ready. Muyang might not be as serious as Marcus, but he was still fighting.
"It's now time to begin! Here we go!" M.C. announced as the first duel in the Worldwide Supreme Tournament was now starting.
"Let's duel!" Muyang and Marcus said as they were now starting with 4000LP.
"I'm going to be the one to kick things off here!" Marcus said as he was going first. "I'm summoning out Windwitch Ice Bell!" He summoned out his witch as she flew out with 1000atk points. "When she's summoned to the field, you lose 500LP!" His witch unleashed a cold blast and managed to hit Muyang with his life points dropping to 3500. "Her other ability also allows me to summon another Windwitch straight from my deck!" He claimed as he summoned out a second Ice Bell. "Just like before, you lose another 500LP!" He claimed as Muyang got blasted again with his life points dropping to 3000.
"Marcus seems to be starting out strong as he managed to deal some serious damage to Muyang right on his first turn!"
"It's cool. That's the only time he's going to get the chance." Muyang said.
"We'll see about that. It's already going better than it did last time." Marcus said. "I place three face-downs and end my turn."
"Not a bad start." Cindy said.
"But that could quickly change." Kent said. "Assembled Nightingale gains attack points and can attack multiple times based on the number of overlay units it has, all direct attacks. If he can manage to summon Assembled Nightingale on his first turn with five overlay units, this duel could already be over." It doesn't sound likely, but could happen.
"Let's get this over with. My turn!" Muyang said as he drew his card. "First, I'm summoning out Lyrilusc Sapphire Swallow!" He summoned out his small monster as it flew out with 100atk points. "And now that I have her on the field, I activate the ability of the other one in my hand to summon both her and Lyrilusc Celestine Wagtail!" He summoned out two more little birds as they flew out with 100 and 200atk points. "Thanks to Wagtail, I can add Lyrilusc Bird Call to my hand, which I will activate! That allows me to take Lyrilusc Turquoise Warbler from my deck to my hand, and special summon it!" He summoned out another little girl dressed as a bird with 100atk points. "And now, I overlay all four of my little birdies!" The X appeared on the field and all four of them dived inside. "I xyz summon Lyrilusc Assembled Nightingale!" He summoned out Assembled Nightingale appeared on the field. "With Nightingale's ability, she gains 200atk points for each overlay unit!" Nightingale's power increased to 800.
"Oh man! It already has 800atk points!" Kent said.
"But it doesn't have five, so he can't win this turn." Cindy said.
"I now activate Overlay Regen! This becomes an overlay unit for Assembled Nightingale!" Muyang said with his monster now having 1000atk points and five overlay units.
"No! It can't be over already!" Kent cried.
"Sorry, but I need to end this quickly because I have a date. Thanks to Nightingale's ability, she can attack you directly for every overlay unit she has." Muyang said. "Nightingale, attack and let's end this!" He said as his fans started cheering for his quick victory.
"This isn't even close to being over! I'm afraid you might be late for that date!" Marcus called. "I activate Magician's Defense! As long as I have at least one spellcaster on the field, Magician's Defense cuts all damage I take in half!" He took the first attack as a gust of wind was shot at him, but his life points only dropped to 3500.
"Okay, you might be holding on, but you're still taking four attacks of damage!" Muyang said. Marcus kept taking attacks. They kept going until Marcus' life points dropped to just 1500.
"Muyang had it all set to end it on this turn, but Marcus was able to counter. They don't call it Magician's Defense for nothing."
"At least he managed to survive." Cindy said.
"But if he doesn't figure out a way to rid Nightingale's overlay units, he won't survive the next turn." Felix said.
"You might have survived this turn, but it will be over by my next turn. I'll just simply place a face-down and end my turn." Muyang said.
"My turn!" Marcus said as he drew his next card. "Perfect! I'm activating the spell known as Enchanted Ice! Since I have a water or wind spellcaster on my field, this spell card replenishes my life points by 500." He claimed as his life points increased to 2000. "I also get to draw one card!" He drew his next card and it ended up being his handy tuner monster. "Sweet, I'm summoning Windwitch Snow Bell!" He claimed as his tuner monster came out with 100atk points. "Now I tune my level one Snow Bell with both my Ice Bells!" He started up the synchro process and brought out his new monster. "I synchro summon Windwitch Winter Bell!" He summoned out his signature monster with it having 2400atk points.
"That monster? It didn't do much help last time." Muyang said.
"But this is now!" Marcus said. "I activate Winter Bell's ability to deal you damage!"
"It won't work! Nightingale's ability will just simply block all of it!" Muyang said as Nightingale used an overlay unit to block the attack even if it meant Nightingale's power dropped to 800.
"I was waiting for you to do that! I activate Icy Breeze Refrain!" Marcus said. "Since you activated an effect in response to my Winter Bell's ability, this trap negates it! That means your Nightingale can't stop me this time!"
"You think you're the first one to try that?" Muyang mocked. "I'm activating Seven Tools of the Bandit! By paying a 1000LP, I can negate your trap card!" His life points dropped down to 2000, but he was able to stop Marcus' trap. That means Nightingale's ability still worked.
"Ouch! Marcus tried to shutdown Nightingale's ability, but Muyang stopped that! They're even in life points now!"
"It might be even, but Muyang still has the advantage." Jaw-Long said.
"It looks like this win might be ours." Li-Jing claimed. "If Muyang can get Nightingale an overlay unit, it won't matter if Magician's Defense is active. He'll win."
"Attacking now would be pointless. I'll just end my turn there." Marcus said.
"Well, this is it. If I can draw a card that gives Nightingale and overlay unit, this duel is mine. I draw!" Muyang said as he drew his next card with the team hoping it wasn't one to give Nightingale an overlay unit. "Nightingale, attack him directly!" Nightingale attacked and smashed a gust of wind against Marcus.
"That was close. He didn't drew a card that gave him an overlay unit." Cindy said.
"But Marcus is still taking damage." Felix said. Marcus kept taking damage with his life points dropping further and further until he reached 400LP.
"You got lucky this time, but I have something else." Muyang said. "I summon Lyrilusc Beryl Canary!" His canary came out with it having 0atk points. "And it's special ability brings back Lyrilusc Sapphire Swallow from my graveyard." He claimed as his monster came back. "Now, I'll overlay my canary and swallow!" The X formed again with both of them diving in. "I xyz summon Lyrilusc Recital Starling!" He summoned out another Lyrilusc with it having 0atk points. "Recital Starling gains 300atk points for every overlay unit it has." He claimed as his starling's power rose to 600. "What's more is that if you try to attack it, you're the one that's going to take all the damage. Face it, there's just no way you can win."
"Marcus is sure backed into a corner now. Is there really anything he can do?"
"There's plenty I can do! Just watch me!" Marcus said as he wasn't giving up the fight and drew his next card. However, it ended up being Snow Magician again. "Not this card again. I forgot to take it out. Dang it, I don't need this card." It was looking rather bad for Marcus as there appeared to be no way out.
"Keep it together, Marcus!" Yukina called and got his attention. "It's not over yet!"
"That's right! You still have a chance!" Felix said.
"We're all counting on you!" Cindy called.
"Time to prove your worth to the team!" Kent shouted.
"You want to be number one, right?!" Yukina said. "Just know that we've got your back! We're coutning on you to come through for the team! You can still win this!" The whole team was cheering for him, and it had Marcus realize something.
"That's right." Marcus said. "This whole time, I've only been thinking about myself and not what's best for the team. If I'm going to be the best, I can't act like that. I've got to win this tournament and earn it, but how?" He looked at his options and then took a good look at Snow Magician at what it can do. "Wait a minute! Maybe I can use this card! I summoning out Snow Magician!" He summoned out a little girl dressed like a magician in the white robe with a scepter and had 1000atk points.
"How is that going to help?" Muyang questioned.
"You're about to find out! I'll have to tribute another spell caster first, so I'm tributing Winter Bell!" Marcus said as he traded away his monster. A strange move. Just then, Snow Magician unleashed a small flurry that blew against Nightingale and caused all of her attack points to disappear.
"What just happened?! Why did Nightingale get so weak?!" Muyang questioned.
"Snow Magician's can completely negate all of a monster's special abilities by tributing another spellcaster!" Marcus claimed with Muyang shocked that it happened. "That means I can send Windwitch Blizzard Bell from my hand to the graveyard. By doing that, you lose another 500LP!" When Marcus discarded his card, the monster appeared right over Muyang and crashed against him with his life points dropping to 1500. "And now, I'm activating my trap: a second Icy Breeze Refrain!"
"What? How can that help you?" Muyang questioned.
"Because it has a second ability! It allows me to bring back my Blizzard Bell!" Marcus claimed as his new monster emerged with 1000atk points. "And now I tune my level five Blizzard Bell with my level three Snow Magician!" He started up the synchro process once again. "Fly in with the power and beauty of a diamond and a blizzard! I synchro summon Windwitch Diamond Bell!" He summoned out a new synchro monster as it emerged with 2800atk points. "I now activate Diamond Bell's ability, which activates when it's synchro summoned! Half of Winter Bell's attack points come out of your life points!" Diamond Bell unleashed a powerful blizzard that blasted against him with Muyang's life points dropped to just 300. "What's more is that since you just took damage, your Recital Starling is finished."
"Are you serious?!" Muyang questioned with him starting to freak out and his monster destroyed.
"You never had a challenge before, but you've got one now. Diamond Bell, attack Nightingale and end this! Diamond Blizzard!" Marcus ordered. Diamond Bell unleashed a shimmering blizzard and blasted Muyang's monster. Unable to counter it, it ended up destroyed and Muyang lost all of his life points. Muyang ended up losing with him dropping to the ground and his fan club astonished.
"I can't believe it. I lost." Muyang said as he was surprised.
"Oh yeah! I am the man!" Marcus cheered.
"Way to go, Marcus!" Yukina cheered.
"Yeah! We got the first win!" Kent cheered as the whole team was glad that he won.
"So the first round ends in a loss for us." Jaw-Long said.
"Yes, but the match isn't over." Yuxuan claimed.
"Oh man... I lost... So uncool." Muyang said as he was feeling down on himself.
"Cheer up, Muyang!"
"You'll win next time!"
"And we loved seeing you in action!" He heard his fans cheering for him and it seemed to be lifting his spirit.
"I guess it doesn't matter if I win or lose. I'm always the cool guy around." Muyang said as he was feeling good about himself again. Muyang had it easy, but this defeat might have at least changed his perspective on things.
"So, the first round ends with Team Fanrong losing and Team Mystic earning a win, but they need one more win to advance in the tournament." M.C. announced. "It's on to the next as we will have Jaw-Long vs. Felix!" With that announcement, the two of them glared right each other. The future of their respective teams could be decided with this match.
