The match between Team Mystic and Team Storm has begun, but Team Mystic is already behind. In a crushing defeat, Marcus lost to Sima. Now the team is down one to nothing, and the next duel is between Yukina and Cray. This could be do or die for them. Knowing that, Marcus is rather down in the dumps.
"I've never seen Marcus like this." Cindy said as the whole team felt bad for him.
"His pride took a serious blow after Sima crushed him in that last match." Felix said. "Now that the next opponent is Cray, we're in a serious bind here. If we lose again, our time in the tournament is over, and our mission could get difficult."
"Just you wait! Cray is going to show all of his great strength!" Kent claimed.
"Remember whose side you're on!" Cindy called. "If Yukina can't beat Cray, it's all over."
"No! That can't happen!" Marcus claimed. "Yukina, you've got to win! It can't... It just can't end like this!" He was pleaded, practically begging to have Yukina win. After that defeat, it's no wonder he wants a chance for redemption.
"Don't worry, Marcus. It will all be okay." Yukina claimed as she wasn't so worried.
"No! You've got to win so I can become the best!" Marcus cried as it seems like winning this would be the whole world to him. "Even if it means I have to shadow you, I have to be number one! I have to be number one! I just have to be!"
"Whoa... Take it easy." Yukina said as they were all astonished with Marcus' behavior. He's acting like failure isn't an option, almost like him being the best just has to be done or else something bad could happen.
"What's with him? I've never seen him like this." Cindy said.
"I guess being the best matters more to him than we thought." Felix said. What is going on with Marcus that this means so much to him?

Team Storm
"I must admit that I'm a little disappointed." Hungwe claimed. "I was expecting something more challenging against this team, but you were able to defeat this Marcus rather easily. Now all Cray has to do is win his match."
"Yeah, but look at him." Sima said. They both looked at Cray and saw he was in deep thought. He must be trying to keep his focus directly on his upcoming match. "Usually, he acts like the competition is no problem, but he's real serious about this one."
"Do you think this Yukina is really that powerful?" Hungwe questioned.
"I guess we'll find out soon enough." Sima said. The moment Cray has been waiting for is finally here. He's all set to go as he opened his eyes and was excited to get started.

The Duel Field
"Here we go! The match we've all been waiting for is about to begin! It's going to be Yukina vs. Cray!" M.C. announced. Everyone was excited for this round. Both of them walked out on the duel field and were ready for this duel.
"Go, Yukina!" Cindy cheered just like all of their friends cheering for her.
"Man! I want to be a team player, but I want Cray to win! If that does happen, we'll be eliminated!" Kent said as he was torn. Everyone was into it, except for Marcus.
"Marcus, I know you're crushed by your defeat, but Yukina is going to need our support." Felix said.
"Right..." Marcus said. As crushed as he is, he's got to hope that Yukina can win.
"The moment you've been waiting for is finally here, Cray. I hope it will be worth it once you lose." Yukina said.
"Don't think so. This time, I'm going to beat you." Cray claimed.
"That's not happening when I can't afford to lose! As much as I would have enjoyed dueling on the same team, I understand your reason." Yukina said. "No hard feelings, but you brought this upon yourself."
"I don't think we need any further introductions, but let's keep the suspense going! The pressure is on!" M.C. announced. "Cray went to be part of another team for this moment! We'll see if it's worth it! As for Yukina, her team is already down by one! They can't afford another defeat! Now, let's get going!"
"Let's duel!" They both said as they were starting their long awaited duel.
"I'm going first, Cray!" Yukina said as she was making the first move. 'I'm sure Cray is going to go strong and fierce on the first turn, so I need to be able to set up a good defense.' "I'll start by summoning my Wild Ally Armadillo to the field!" She brought out her armadillo as it emerged with 500atk points. "When my armadillo is summoned to the field, he instantly switches into defense mode." Her armadillo curled up and now had 1500def points. "What's more is that my armadillo can survive being destroyed once per turn. I'll place one face-down and end my turn." 'That should work. I need to be ready for whenever he brings out his new Storm Thunder Dragon out. Between that and his regular Storm Dragon, I could be in trouble.'
"Trying to set some sort of defense against me? You'll need a lot more than that. My turn!" Cray called as he drew his next card. "I'm summoning Storm Synchron to the field!"
"Already?!" Yukina said as she wasn't expecting it so soon. Cray's monster emerged with it having 1500atk points. "Next, I activate Storm Synchron's ability to summon Thunder Tempo!" He summoned out his armored monster with it having 1900atk points. "Storm Synchron, tune yourself with Thunder Tempo!" He started the synchro process as tuner became a digital circle and came around Thunder Tempo. Thunder Tempo was digitized and that one circle became eight. "Roar with the power of the wind! Strike with the might of a fierce storm! I synchro summon Storm Thunder Dragon!" Cray brought out his new monster. The dragon emerged like a sudden storm with it having 3000atk points.
"There it is! Cray's new mighty beast!"
"You're going to need more than that little Armadillo to protect yourself from this beast!" Cray claimed. "By simply sending one card in my hand to the graveyard, I can destroy one card on the field!" He dis carded a card and his dragon unleashed an electrical charge that zapped Yukina's armadillo and destroyed it. "There's more! You lose 400LP whenever a card is destroyed by an effect!" His dragon unleashed another electrical charge and zapped Yukina with her life points dropping to 3600. "With that rodent out of the way, my Storm Thunder Dragon can attack you directly! Attack with Thunder Devastator!" His dragon gathered power around it's mouth and unleashed a powerful electrical blast.
"I activate Over the Line!" Yukina said as her trap activated. "This trap reduces the damage I would have taken by half of your monster's attack points! That means I'm only losing 1500LP instead of all 3000!" Yukina still took the blast and was knocked down with her life points dropping to 1900. "There's more..." She claimed as she got up. "For every 1000atk points that was reduced, I get to draw one card!" She claimed as she drew another card.
"You played that against me before, but it didn't help you out as much this time." Cray said. "Now that we're done sizing each other up, it's time to get serious!" He claimed as he placed a face-down and ended his turn.
"You mean you weren't before? And here I am thinking you didn't have a sense of humor." Yukina teased. "My turn!" She said as she drew her card. "You are right, Cray. Time to get serious. I activate Middleman Cutout! By sending two cards in my deck to the graveyard, I can summon a level seven or higher monster in my deck! However, it's special abilities are negated and I won't be able to attack with it! So, once I discard of these two, I'm bringing out my trusted Wild Ally Phoenix!" She discarded her two cards and her phoenix emerged out on the field with 2500atk points.
"There it is! Yukina brings out her ace, but it doesn't have the power to beat Storm Thunder Dragon! What could Yukina be thinking?"
"I was thinking of doing a synchro summon of my own! I summon my Wild Ally Tortoise!" Yukina said as her tortoise emerged with 1000atk points. "Now, I tune my level three Wild Ally Tortoise with my level seven Wild Ally Phoenix!" Yukina started the synchro summoning herself with her two monsters, but she was summoning out something much stronger. "Watch as wherever there is darkness, there will always be a glimmer of light! I synchro summon Wild Ally Star Phoenix!" She summoned out an evolved form of her phoenix with it having 3300atk points.
"Yukina is fighting fire with fire, or synchro with synchro in this case!"
"You won't beat this one so easily, Cray. My Wild Ally Tortoise's special ability prevents the synchro monster that was summoned from being destroyed by effects." Yukina claimed. "Also, my Star Phoenix can negate your dragon's special abilities and gain your monster's attack points!" Her phoenix drained out Storm Thunder Dragon's power and its own increased to 6300. "Wild Ally Star Phoenix, strike down his Storm Thunder Dragon! Wild Shooting Starlight!" Her phoenix unleashed some of it's power and dived right at Storm Thunder Dragon. If this works, Cray is going to take a lot of damage.
"Nice try, but I was ready for that! I activate Half Counter!" Cray said. "Thanks to this trap, half of your monster's original attack points are added to Storm Thunder Dragon's! It might not save him, but I'm not taking that much damage!" Cray's dragon gained power as it rose to 4650. The attack still went on as Yukina's phoenix destroyed Cray's dragon and his life points dropped to 2350.
"Amazing! They both attempted to deal major damage, but they were able to counter the other!" Yukina might not have scored as much damage as she wanted, but she still managed to destroy Cray's new dragon.
"I can't believe it! She was able to defeat Storm Thunder Dragon and made it look easy!" Hungwe said.
"I'm starting to see why Cray wanted to duel her so much." Sima said. "Just look at him." They both got a good look at Cray and saw that he was rather enjoying himself.
"Is he smiling?" Hungwe questioned.
"He's enjoying himself. Up until now, the duels he's been in were rather easy. He's glad he's facing an opponent that can challenge him." Sima said.
"Hahaha! This is what I've been waiting for! I knew you wouldn't disappoint me, Yukina!" Cray said. "This is how a duel should be! Going at each other with full might without fear! Give me more of that, Yukina! Give me all you've got!"
"When have you known me to do anything less than that.?" Yukina said.
"It's just going to be that much more enjoyable when I defeat you!" Cray said. "Now, come on! End your turn so that I can play something else I've been saving for you!"
"Something else?! You mean's he got something more than just his Storm Thunder Dragon?!" Felix said as that sounded like it could be really bad for them. Yukina didn't like the sound of that, but she had to be ready for anything Cray might try.
"Go ahead, Cray. I'm curious to see what it might be." Yukina said. Her turn ended with Star Phoenix's power dropping back to 3300.
"Good! It's my turn!" Cray said as he drew his next card. "I'm summoning out my Twining Tempo to the field!" Cray brought out a brand new monster, but it was different from his other monsters. It looked like a set of armored twins with their hands joint together, but it had 0atk points.
"Is he really bringing that out?!" Hungwe said.
"Looks like it." Sima said.
"I now activate Twining Tempo's special ability! If I send a monster in my deck to the graveyard, my Twining Tempo's level becomes the same as that monster!" Cray said. "I'm sending this card to the graveyard!" He claimed as he showed that it was his original Storm Dragon.
"You're discarding Storm Dragon?!" Yukina said.
"That's right! Since Storm Dragon is a level eight, Twining Tempo becomes a level eight monster!" Cray said. "What's more is that this monster can be used as two monsters for an xyz summon!"
"An xyz summon?! You've found a way to do that as well?!" Yukina said as she wasn't expecting something like that.
"You didn't think I stopped at synchro summoning, did you?!" Cray said. "Now watch as I build the overlay network!" The X appeared on the field and his only monster dived right inside. "Emerge through the storm and devastate everything that is in your wake! I xyz summon Storm Maelstrom Dragon!" Cray summoned out a brand new dragon. It was a darker shade of green from his Storm Dragon. It also carried spikes on its arms with metal jagged wings and an extra long tail with a fan-shaped tip. It also had two large horns that curved out of the back. It unleashed a mighty roar and had a total of 3500atk points.
"Storm Maelstrom Dragon?!" Yukina said as she and everyone else was stunned and shocked to see something like that.
"Cray's never played a beast like that before!" Felix said.
"How can Yukina beat that thing?!" Cindy said.
"No... This can't be how it ends!" Marcus cried as he doesn't want it to end like this.
"Cray has summoned out a brand new monster that I've never seen before! That thing looks all kinds of dangerous!" They have no idea how true that might be. They've never seen Cray play that card before. Cray still has a few surprises for them and is living up to his reputation.
"You're finished, Yukina! I am a storm that will completely demolish everything!" Cray claimed as it would seem the real duel starts now.
