When Team Mystic arrived in Peru, they were set to take part of the Victory Round with their next match being against Team Rodrigo. However, when Kent went searching for intel on their opponents, he ended up being attacked by that very team. It's obvious that these siblings are ruthless, and they're willing to do whatever it takes to win this tournament because they are sick of living at the bottom of the barrel. Once Yukina and the others found him, they brought him back to the hotel and treated his injuries.
"You look like you got trampled by a stampede. Are you going to be okay?" Marcus asked.
"He should be, but it's hard to believe a couple guys did this to you." Cindy said as she tried to treat his injuries.
"It wasn't just a couple random people." Kent said.
"What do you mean?" Felix questioned.
"It was them. It was Team Rodrigo." Kent said.
"Team Rodrigo?! They were the ones that did this to you?!" Yukina said as they were shocked to hear this.
"Yeah. Let me tell you something, those guys are ruthless and have no honor." Kent said. "They lured me into a little trap and attacked me."
"They did?" Marcus questioned.
"I figured it had something to do with that." Yukina said. "When we found you, your cards were scattered everywhere. It was obviously the work of a disrespectful duelist."
"But I don't get it. Why would they attack Kent?" Marcus questioned.
"It must have been some sort of attempt to sabotage our team." Felix said. "If they think this is going to scare us off or keep us from competing, they're wrong. All it did was make us want to beat them even more."
"But there's a bigger problem, you guys." Kent said. "I couldn't believe it when I saw it, but they actually have one of the Malicious Fiends with them!" All of them were shocked when Kent said that. "It's true. The leader, Aaron, has one of the Malicious Fiends. He called it Savage Titan."
"Are you serious?! One of the Malicious Fiends is with them?!" Yukina said. "If they have one of those cards, we're in even bigger trouble than we thought."
"We can't let them getaway with what they did to Kent, and knowing they have one of the Malicious Fiends is all kinds of bad." Cindy said. "We've got to alert Justin and the WDA about this." She was about to do just that.
"No, wait." Kent said. "If we do that, they won't get the justice they deserved. They'll think we're scared to face them. We've got to take them on in the match. This is a matter of pride and honor as a duelist."
"I agree with Kent." Yukina said.
"Same here. Besides, all we have is Kent's word on what happened." Felix said. "They'll probably just deny it, or spin in a way that makes them look innocent. With no witnesses or evidence, we don't have enough to get them disqualified. Our best chance is to take them on in the ring, show we aren't scared of them and that we're not going to be pushed around."
"Yeah, and I'm just the man to do it. They made this personal." Kent claimed. "They've made me red hot and I'll..." He was getting all worked up, but a sharp pain in his hand caused his flame to go down.
"Easy, Kent. Your hand seems to be worst. You're lucky it's not broken." Cindy said. "I'm afraid with how your hand is, there's no way you can duel tomorrow."
"What?! No way!" Kent said. "You've got to be joking, Cindy. You're not a nurse or a doctor. I'm sure I can duel." He tried to show he was fine, but his hand kept disagreeing with him. "No! It's not fair! I've got to be in this duel and make those jerks pay for what they did!"
"Calm down, Kent. I understand how you feel, but you can't duel with that hand of yours." Yukina said.
"Besides, Team Rodrigo only has three members, so we have to face them with three of our own." Felix clarified.
"Don't worry. We'll get those jerks back for you." Marcus assured. "They messed up when they decided not to take out one the main duelists of the team."
"Besides, no one does this to our friend." Yukina said. "Now that we know that they have a Malicious Fiend and like to play hardball, we won't lose to them." That's exactly how they all feel. These guys are going to take the Rodrigo's down, and they're going to do it with honor and pride.

The Next Day
"It's now time! The first match of the Victory Round for the Worldwide Supreme Tournament!" The M.C. called as the match was about to begin. Everyone in Peru was excited to see, but do they even know what type of people they are rooting for? "Here in the Victory Round, it's a sign that we are nearing the end of the Worldwide Supreme Tournament. Only the four best remain now. The point of the Victory Round is to find out which of these four are truly the best. That way, the finals are sure to have the very best of the best face each other. Therefor, the winner of this match will end up going straight to the finals!" Everyone was going to get excited for this. "Now, here is Team Mystic!" He announced with the team coming out and ready for whatever might happen.
"I know we're going up against some jerks, but the fact that we're here is still awesome." Marcus claimed.
"Focus." Cindy reminded.
"Aiming to end their winning streak, here comes Team Rodrigo!" The team of those troubling siblings came out with the crowd loving them.
"I wonder if this s crowd would cheer if they knew what these jerks did to Kent." Cindy said with Kent getting worked up like a raging bull. The two teams stood facing each other with both sides wanting to take the other down.
"How are you doing, Kent? We sure had a lot of fun the other day, didn't we?" Aaron claimed.
"Fun?! You call what we did fun?! My hand got all messed up, and now I can't duel against you guys!" Kent called.
"You hurt your hand? I hope that isn't an excuse for you not to duel. Then again, it isn't fair." Aaron said. "You guys have more duelists on your team than we do. It's better that things are evened out for what we have planned."
"Is this guy serious?! He's passing off that ambush like it was nothing." Marcus said.
"What did he mean? What exactly do you have planned?" Felix questioned.
"We think that rather than doing the standard best of three setup we've been doing, we try something else." Aaron claimed. "Rather than having three separate duels, we have one big duel. One duelist from each side face each other, but when one duelist is defeated, another steps in. It's no holds bar with no intermissions, but no sharing cards. We go until one side has no main duelist left. Noticed how I said "main", which means no substitutes. After all, if you're only a substitute, it means you're not good enough to be one of the main stars of your team." That last bit made Kent even angrier.
"It's like a relay. Once one duelist is defeated, one of the others can just step in and take over." Felix claimed. 'However, what concerns me is why they attacked Kent and suggested this. Since Kent can't duel, it just means things are even.'
"What do you say? Are you guys in or not?" Aaron said, but the grin on his face tells them that they're up to something.
"I don't like this. I don't think we should agree." Felix said.
"What's wrong? Are you a little hesitant because we played a little rough with your friend?" Alonzo said.
"If you guys want to run from what sounds like an exciting duel because of what happened to your friend, we get it. We would be scared, too." Selena claimed.
"Who said anything about running?! You're on! We accept your little challenge!" Kent said as he took the challenge with the others surprised that he took that bait.
"This is a twist! They're going to have one grand relay duel! The team with one member left standing will be the one that wins!" The crowd seemed to be loving this.
"Kent, it's obvious they have some sort of trap for us." Cindy said. "Look at what they did to you. I think it's obvious that they don't mind bending the rules if it means they can win."
'Hold on. Did they attack Kent to try and get under our skin so that we be more likely to accept their challenge?' Felix thought.
"Let's get this party started. You're up, Selena." Aaron said.
"Gladly. They don't know what they're up against." Selena said as she was going out for the first match.
"Well, it looks like there's nothing about it we can do. In fact, it will be sweeter payback when we beat them at their own game." Yukina claimed.
"You said it. This kind of duel sounds awesome. I can't hold it back." Marcus said as he was getting all kinds of worked up. "I'm going out first!" He ran out ahead and went for the first match.
"The first round is set for it to be between Selena vs. Marcus, where the winning team goes to the finals. This is sure to be an interesting match."
"Let's duel!" Both of them said as this duel was now beginning.
"I'm going first. I can't think of a better start than with Windwitch Ice Bell!" Marcus said as he made the first move and summoned his signature witch to the field with 1000atk points. "After that, her special ability allows me to summon a second one!" A second Ice Bell flew out with the same power. "Their special abilities also cause you to lose 500LP, and having two means you're losing 1000!" Both of his witches blasted Selena with her life points dropping to 3000. "I'm placing one face-down to end my turn!"
"It's the first turn with Marcus taking the lead by dealing some damage already."
"It's a good start. We're going to need a strong lead." Felix said.
"Not bad, but let me show you how it's really done!" Selena said as she drew her card. "You're not the only one that has cards that can deal damage. I play Tremendous Fire! This spell might make me lose 500LP, but you lose 1000LP as well!" Her spell unleashed a blaze of fire that hit both of their life points dropping to 3000 and 2500. It might have caused me to lose life points, but it's fine since I'm now summoning Abaki!" She summoned out a red ogre-like creature with it having 1700atk points.
"Abaki? That's going to be a problem." Yukina claimed.
"Why?" Kent questioned.
"When Abaki is destroyed, both duelists lose 500LP. Since she's going with a damage dealing strategy like Marcus." Felix said. "With this being a relay, she doesn't mind giving up her life points because her brothers probably have plans of their own. Which is why Marcus needs to take her down." This didn't appear to be shaping well for them, but the only thing they can do is try to win.
"Abaki, knock one of those witches off their brooms!" Selena ordered as Abaki went on the attack.
"I don't think so! I'm playing the Aqua Chorus continuous trap!" Marcus said. "Since I have two of the same monster on the field, this trap increases their attack points by 500! It might not save one, but at least it will weaken the damage!" Both of his witches now had 1500atk points. Too bad that didn't stop Selena's monster from bashing one and destroying it. That caused Marcus' life points to drop to 2800. "That wasn't too bad, but I've got to maintain the life point lead."
"We'll see about that." Selena said as she set a card and ended her turn.
"My turn!" Marcus said and drew his next card. "Perfect! I'm summoning Windwitch Glass Bell!" He claimed as he summoned out another witch with it having 1500atk points. "Her ability also allows me to add Blizzard Bell to my hand when she's summoned, but I'll get to that later. Right now, I'm tuning Glass Bell and Ice Bell!" He started out the synchro process to summon his signature monster. "I synchro summon Windwitch Winter Bell!" Winter Bell flew out on the field with it having 2400atk points. "Now I use Winter Bell's ability! You lose 200LP for each level of a windwitch in my graveyard, and I choose Glass Bell!" Winter Bell unleashed a series of icicles that blasted Selena with her life points dropping to 1700.
"Is that all you got?" Selena said.
"There's something to be said. Selena is running low on life points, but she stays strong." The crowd seemed to be loving what she was doing as they were still on her side.
"Weird. She's running low on life points, but she's still calm. Unless..." Felix said as he could see he has a trap set.
"This first win is all ours! Winter Bell, attack Abaki!" Marcus ordered with Winter Bell attacking.
"No, Marcus! It's a trap!" Felix called.
"Too late! I'm activating Magic Cylinder!" Selena said. That wasn't good for Marcus. Now the attack was redirected at him as he got struck by his own monster's power. That caused his life points to drop all the way to a mere 400. "Magic Cylinder is one of my favorites. I'm glad I swiped it when I did."
"Swiped it?" Marcus questioned until he realized what he meant. "You mean you stole that card?!"
"I think that's the least of your worries! My turn!" Selena said as she drew her next card. "Abaki, attack his Winter Bell!"
"But it's not strong enough!" Kent said.
"It doesn't matter! Not with Abaki's ability!" Yukina said as she could see what Selena was doing, and Marcus can't stop it. Abaki attacked, but Winter Bell blasted ice at it and destroyed it with Selena's life points dropping to 1000.
"With Abaki now destroyed, we both lose 500LP! In other words, it's all over for you!" Selena claimed. The shockwaves from the battle smashed into both of them. Selena's life points dropped to 500, but Marcus got the worst of it as he ended up losing all of his.
"It's over! Selena has won the first match!" The people of Peru actually cheered for her win.
"No way! You've got to be kidding!" Marcus said as he couldn't believe he actually lost to someone like her.
"That means that Team Rodrigo has the first win with Team Mystic down by one duelist, but our brave duelist has only a mere 500LP left. Despite that, it looks like she's going to battle on. That is a true warrior for you."
"Is he serious?! Are they overlooking the fact that she admitted to stealing a card?!" Kent said.
"Technically, she played within the rules. It doesn't matter, but I don't like it any better." Cindy claimed.
"Well, I guess I'm up. I'll show her how a real duelist acts." Felix said as he got his deck ready.
"No! I can't watch this anymore! I'm going in!" Yukina said as she went out instead. Unable to stand how the Rodrigos act, Yukina decided to take matters into her own hands. "I've had it with you and your brothers, Selena! You aren't real duelists! Not even respectable ones! You only seem to care about winning! Well, you're not getting your way!"
"Is that so? You have no idea how much we had to survive to get where we are!" Selena said. "I'll show you just how much we want to win!" The battle between the Rodrigos and Team Mystic has just begun, but Team Mystic is already falling behind. They can't let the Rodrigos win, but what other tricks will they try?
