When Team Mystic arrived in Platinum City, Marcus was excited to see his old friends. He wasn't able to see Dana, but he was surprised to see his other friend Snyder. It also turns out that Snyder was part of Team Void. Marcus had no idea about that, but this gave them a chance to see what their competition is like. That's why they followed Snyder out to a basketball court out in the open.

"What do you think, Marcus? Brings back memories, don't you think?" Snyder said.

"Sure does. This is where the three of us always hung out." Marcus said. "We used this space to use other practices as ways to improve our dueling skills."

"Was that what we were doing? I thought it was just ways for Dana to show us ways she's better than us at everything." Snyder joked.

"Speaking of which, I was hoping to see you at the Duel Park." Marcus asked. "I went to see Dana at the hospital, but they told me she was moved to another hospital. I thought you might know where she's been moved to. How is she, Snyder? Did her condition take a turn for the worst? Is she any better at all? What happened while I was away?"

"Calm down." Snyder said. "How about you let me answer a question before you go off and ask a hundred? Dana is doing well. She was moved to a hospital to get better treatment. The hospital she's at now has better equipment to give her the treatment she needs. I was able to move her there thanks to the guy who sponsors Team Void."

"That's another thing. How did you managed to become a member of Team Void?" Marcus questioned.

"Well, after you left, I consider it a stroke of fate or something." Snyder said. "The guy who is running the whole thing came to me and made me that offer. They help Dana get the treatment she needs if I become part of Team Void. I guess they recognized my talents and wanted me on it. Speaking of which, aren't you going to introduce me to your new friends?" He said as he looked towards his team. "I thought you left to duel against Yukina Osama, not be on a team with her."

"Uh... I did...until I got beat." Marcus shamefully admitted. "I was just going easy on her."

"Sure you did." Yukina said. "Anyway, it's nice to meet an old friend of Marcus'."

"And it's nice to meet the great Yukina Osama." Snyder said. "I heard you're a great duelist. I'm sure Marcus has been a handful to you guys."

"Me? A handful? What are you talking about? I'm the most easygoing guy there is." Marcus defended.

"Easygoing?!" The team said as they all thought differently.

"Ha! Five against one. You are a handful." Snyder said.

"We're lucky. You had to deal with him for about five years." Kent said.

"On that note, why didn't you contact Marcus and tell him about you being in Team Void? Marcus would have been excited about that." Cindy said.

"And ruin the surprise? Besides, he didn't tell me he was on Team Mystic." Snyder said.

"Fair enough." Felix said. "At least we got to meet one member of Team Void. We already met Team Camelot, who you will be going up against, and defeated them. We know nothing about your team."

"Well, don't expect me to tell you. If you want to know, you'll have to come see us beat them around rather good." Snyder said.

"I wouldn't exactly underestimate Team Camelot." Yukina said. "They're quite powerful, and losing to us with the chance to face us again will make them even more determined to win."

"Perhaps, but I wouldn't call my team a bunch of pushovers." Snyder said. "That brings me to why I came over to the Duel Park. I've been so busy that I haven't had much time to go there. I knew that once you got back here, Marcus, I would find you there. I was hoping we could duel."

"What? You want to duel?" Marcus questioned.

"That's right. I want to see if being on this team with your new friends has made you any stronger." Snyder said. "We may have dueled tons of times before, but I want to see for myself what you can do with Dana's deck. I hope you've been treating it with respect."

"Of course I have." Marcus said. "I've been taking great care of Dana's deck. I didn't even wanted to add any extra cards to it at first."

"Relax. I had a feeling you did, but you've never seen a deck like mine." Snyder claimed.

"What are you talking about? You've been using the same deck since we were kids." Marcus said.

"Not anymore. I upgraded to a brand new deck." Snyder said. "Joining Team Void has hooked me up with cards you've probably never seen before. I know you would love to see them."

"You have a new deck?! Of course I want to see it, and this is the perfect place to do it." Marcus said, but this whole thing seemed suspicious.

"I don't know about this. This could just be his way for the competition to get some insight on us." Cindy said.

"True, but this is also a chance to see what a member of Team Void is capable of." Felix said.

"These two are old friends. I doubt we have anything to worry about." Yukina said as they believed this was just going to be a friendly duel. The two of them stood facing each other, but this duel makes them feel like they're dueling out fresh rather than all the times they've dueled before.

"Let's duel!" They both said as they were able to now begin.

"Go ahead, Snyder. I want to see what this new deck of yours can do." Marcus said.

"You got it." Snyder said. "I'll start by activating the Arsentinal Arsenal field spell!" He said as he played that spell. "Thanks to this, all Arsentinals gain 200atk points. At the same time, I can summon one to take the place of one that's been destroyed in battle."

"Did he say Arsentinal? What are those?" Kent said.

"I think we'll find out soon enough." Yukina said.

"Next, I summon Arsentinal Spear Giraffe!" Sunder said. He summoned a cyborg giraffe with a metal helmet over its head. It also had 1200atk points. "And my field spell gives it more power." He said as the power rose to 1400. "There's more. My giraffe allows me to summon another Arsentinal to the field, and I choose another Spear Giraffe!" He summoned out a second one with it having the same power.

"What are those things?" Marcus questioned.

"Arsentinals are cyborg-like creatures modeled after weapons that best suit them." Snyder said. "You'll find out soon enough. For now, I'm just going to end my turn and see what you can do with Dana's deck."

"You got it!" Marcus said as he drew his next card. "I'll begin by summon Windwitch Freeze Bell to the field!" He claimed as he summoned out his witch with her having 1200atk points. "Next, I'm activating the One for One spell! By sending one monster to the graveyard, I can summon a level one monster to the field, so I'll summon Snow Bell!" He discarded Blizzard Bell and summoned out Snow Bell with it having just 100atk points.

"So you've got a tuner monster, but your monsters' levels only equal four." Snyder said.

"That will allow change. I activate the spell known as Level Wind! Since I have two wind monsters on the field, this allows me to take their two levels and one of them becomes the grand total!" Marcus said. "That means my Freeze Bell becomes a level five monster. Actually, it becomes level six because it's level can increase by one thanks to it's own ability." He claimed as his witch was now a level six monster. "I now tune Snow Bell with Freeze Bell!" He started the synchro process and made the way for his strongest monster. "I synchro summon Windwitch Winter Bell!" He summoned out his best monster with 2400atk points.

"That's Dana's ace of her deck. I see you adapted to her strategies rather well!" Snyder said.

"And I'm just getting started! I activate Winter Bell's special ability! I discarded my Blizzard Bell when I used One for One, but now you lose 200LP per level!" Marcus said. Winter Bell unleashed a barraged of ice and blasted Snyder with his life points dropping to 3000. "Winter Bell, attack!" Winter Bell attacked one of the giraffes by blasting ice right at it and destroyed it. That caused Snyder's life points to drop down to 2000.

"Pretty good, but let's not forget about my field spell." Snyder said. "I'm now free to summon another Arsentinal since you destroyed one in battle. This time, I summon Arsentinal Mace Elephant!" This time, he summoned a cyborg elephant that had a mace for a trunk. It also had 1600atk points, but it rose to 1800.

"I'll just end my turn there." Marcus said.

"Fine with me. I draw!" Snyder said as he drew his next card. "Since you brought out that thing, I think it's only fair that I return the favor and show you my best."

"I don't like the sound of that." Yukina said as they knew something big was coming.

"I'll begin by summoning a second Arsentinal Mace Elephant!" Snyder said. He summoned out a second monster with it having the same power. "Now, I build my circuit!"

"You can link summon?!" Marcus said as he didn't expect that. The circuit opened up behind Snyder.

"The summoning conditions are three Arsentinal monsters!" Snyder said as his three monsters dived into the arrows pointing to the sides and on the bottom. "Behold a beast that has been made stronger than stories made them out to be! I link summon Link 3 Arsentinal Sword Dragon!" He summoned out cyborg dragon standing on two legs with energy wings and had a long blade sitting on its head. It also had 2600atk points.

"A link 3 with 2600atk points?!" Marcus said with shock.

"Actually, it holds more because of my field spell." Snyder reminded. Now it had 2800atk points.

"That beast has got to be the strongest beast in his new deck." Yukina said.

"How is Marcus going to beat that?!" Cindy said.

"We'll just have to hope for the best." Felix said.

"No worries! A little cold air should be able to destroy that oversized reptile!" Kent said.

"An oversized reptile with great destructive power. It's going to take more than cold air." Felix said.

"I activate Sword Dragon's special ability!" Snyder said. "When there are no monsters next to it's links, I can summon an Arsentinal from my graveyard next to one of them!" He brought back his Spear Giraffe next to his dragon. "When I do have a monster next to his link, I can tribute it to destroy one card on the field!"

"No way!" Marcus said. His giraffe transformed into energy that transferred over to his dragon.

"Go, Voltage Pierce!" Snyder called. His dragon fired a shot of electricity from its blade and destroyed Winter Bell. "With Winter Bell out of the way, my Dragon is able to attack you directly! Attack with Gamma Force Strike!" His dragon gathered energy around its body and flew straight at Marcus. It smashed into Marcus and did some serious damage with his life points dropping all the way to just 1200. The power was so strong that Marcus fell off his feet.

"Are you okay?!" Yukina questioned.

"I'm good. That's some monster you got, Snyder." Marcus said as he got back up.

"And there's a lot more to come." Snyder warned. Marcus might have his hands full with this one. That dragon holds a lot of power. "Now, I think I'll..." Snyder was going to continue with the duel until he was getting some sort of message.

"Is something wrong?" Marcus questioned.

"We'll have to finish this another time. It looks like my team needs me." Snyder said.

"What?! You never leave in the middle of a duel!" Marcus said.

"He's right. What's so important that you have to leave before a duel is over?" Yukina questioned.

"Sorry, but this can't wait. I suppose it's better if we save this duel for when the finals begin. Don't worry about us not beating Team Camelot. Those guys are going down." Snyder said as he ended the duel right there. However, he did leave something for Marcus as he transferred something over. "Here's where you can find Dana. See you later." He said and then just took off.

"Snyder, wait!" Marcus called, but Snyder just kept going. "That's weird. Where could he be going?"

"It's too bad you couldn't finish that duel. We could have seen a lot more of his deck." Kent said. "Where do you think he got it?"

"I'm not sure, but at least we saw a mighty beast of his." Felix said. "That Sword Dragon of his is quite powerful. Not only can it resurrect a monster from the graveyard, but it can also tribute it to destroy another card on the field. That's only a part of what he can do."

"You think he has other tricks up his sleeve?" Cindy questioned.

"Sure looks like it. After all, he and his team made it this far. We don't know what to expect. It might have only been a few turns, but Snyder had complete control over this duel." Felix said. "There's no telling what else he might be capable of. Especially since he seems quite confident that his team will be able to defeat Team Camelot."

"Well, I guess we'll see soon enough. It's better that he and I have our match in the finals." Marcus said. "At least I'll be able to see Dana now and see how she's doing." With such an intense competition, it was good to see some friendly competition. Maybe not so friendly...

"Number one..." Snyder said. When he was far enough away from Marcus and the others, he dropped the act and felt only distain and anger towards Marcus. "Marcus, I swear that I will make you pay."
