Chapter 20

Kagome's POV:

I woke up the next morning to an electric saw. I jumped out of bed and ran outside to see workers coming in and out of my house. "What the hell?"

Shippo popped up beside me with coffee and donuts, "Good morning, Momma!"

I took my coffee, "Did you do this?"

He grinned cheekily, "Your toy thingy sold yesterday. I started making phone calls as soon as it did." I nodded as I sipped my drink. "A little birdy told me that you found your father yesterday."

"Yep! He will be here tonight." I spoke proudly. "So what all could I afford this time?"

Shippo cackled with glee, "Everything!" I turned to him in surprise. "Yep yep. Your place should be done by the end of the day! Then we can start decorating!"

I chuckled at his enthusiasm, "That's great!" As soon as I finished my coffee and donuts, Shippo dragged me shopping. By sunset my house was finished and furnished.

I was resting on my couch when I heard Jarvis through the speaker on my cell, "Young miss, your father's plane has just arrived. Where would you like to dine tonight?"

I sat up and walked into the kitchen. "Right here is just fine, Jarvis. How long do I have?" I asked as I checked my pantry.

"Your father should be here in one hour. Where would you like to order in?" Jarvis replied.

I giggled, "I'm gonna cook, Jarvis."

"Very well, young miss." We became silent after that. One hour was plenty of time to whip up a good meal. When that hour was up, Jarvis politely spoke again, "Your father has arrived."

"Thank you, Jarvis." I had just put the last pot on the table. I walked out my front door to see a town car in my driveway. Then he stepped out, my father was here. I bound over to him and encircled him in my arms, his going around me just as tightly. "Hi, Daddy."

He kissed my forehead, "Hi, sweetheart."

We held each other for a few more moments before I stepped back, "Well let's get inside, I'm sure the food is getting cold."

A red head pop out of the town car behind him, "Do you want me to send the car back for you or do you want to get a taxi?"

I smiled at Pepper, "There's enough food if you're hungry too."

She quickly waved my offer off, "No no, this your guys' time and I'm not intruding. Maybe we can do lunch tomorrow instead?"

"That sounds great." I chirped, "I'll drive him back to the hotel." My father nodded in agreement. Pepper nodded back and left. "Food first, shop after!" I suggested. He smirked and we went inside.
