Grace and George were horrified seeing the flames. Both parents were worried sick about their daughter. They also were worried that their friends weren't home, they knew Jessica, Elizabeth and Cara were staying over for the weekend.
"George. What if Lila's..." George cuts her off.
"No. She would never miss a party." He knew Lila well. Yeah, she always made an entrance, but she wouldn't miss a party such as this. He remembered those meetings Lila had as a child. His former maid, Mrs. Pervis helped host them. He prayed hard their daughter was alright.
Two hours later, both were losing hope. When they saw a orange Beetle driving down, he looks over and sees the Wakefield Twins walk out including their friend. He and Grace hurry over, hoping Lila was inside.
"Jessica. Elizabeth. Thank god." Grace hugs Elizabeth and Jessica who were crying. Especially Jessica. Winston stands back, but shakes Mr. Fowler's hand.
"Mrs Fowler. Is Lila, Cara?" Jessica didn't want to think the worst.
"I don't know. We just came back from dinner." Grace knew she should have brought Lila and her friends along. "Is Lila still at that party?" She cried when the twins shook their heads.
George stood back. No. He knew Lila well. She was okay. She had to be.
It was hours before the fire went out. George and Grace refused to leave the grounds. But when they saw two bodies being wheeled out, both parents felt faint. George was holding on his wife when she saw the stretchers.
"NOOOO!" Grace fainted in George's arms. Immediately the paramedics on the scene run to her aid.
"We can take this from here." George teared up. He didn't care that he was homeless. His daughter. His unborn grandchild. Lila's friend. He hated to say it. He hoped those two women weren't in those body bags.
Jessica and Elizabeth were crying their eyes out. Winston was shaking with fear. All three were praying hard.
George watches with dull eyes when a firefighter walks up.
"Mr Fowler?"
Winston walks away. He needed to give the Fowlers privacy. He called Brooke.
"Winston!? What's going on?" Brooke saw the twins and Winston running out. The party was already over, they promised Joe that they'll be out of there by one a.m.
''Fowler Manor is gone." He tells a horrified Brooke what was going on.
"Is Lila?"
"Honestly? I don't know." He hoped not. He knew about Cara's testimony. But why Lila's home? Lila's father was well known businessman. Even Karl wasn't that stupid.
"Maybe it's someone else."
"Maybe it was burglars." He heard of robberies that happened once in a while. Seeing Jessica and Elizabeth walking over, he tells Brooke he needed to go.
"Okay. Keep me updated. Love you."
"Love you too." Winston hangs up. "Well?"
"They are identifying the dental records. But they don't think that was Lila or Cara.'' Jessica was trembling. Those were her BFFs.
"Then who?" Winston was curious.
Elizabeth sighs.
"Remember those two maids? Vicky and Janet? They were at the Manor cleaning up after us." Elizabeth tears up. She felt so guilty. "They believe they were cleaning when the fire started. It was so quick, neither had time to escape." Elizabeth starts crying. That could have been them.
"How is the Fowlers?" Winston saw the couple holding each other. Then Mr Fowler walking away talking on his cell. Presumably to his insurance.
"Terrified. But they are hoping Lila was alright. Even Cara." Elizabeth walks away to talk to Jessica who was still crying.
Winston closed his eyes. Where was Lila and Cara?
