"My god." Lila couldn't believe it.
"You see, there's the head. Your baby is doing so well." The technician was showing Lila and Bruce their ultrasound.
"I'm going to be a dad." Bruce couldn't help but tear up. He never felt so happy. He kissed his fiancée's hand.
"You want to hear the heartbeat?"
The couple was in awe. The heartbeat was clear and strong.
Ever since she got back, she was staying at the Patman Estate. It was only temporary, her home in Fowler Manor was being rebuilt, construction was going smoothly. Her parents refused to stay, instead they were staying at her maternal grandmother's estate. Once construction was finished, Bruce and Lila were moving there full time, George and Grace Fowler were gifting them the manor as a wedding and baby gift since Mr Fowler announced he was retiring in a year. Lila was taking over Fowler Enterprises, she already was interviewing potential nannies for her unborn baby, plus getting new staff for the home.
Grace, George, Reggie, Janet, plus her friends were looking at the video of the baby.
"Boy or girl." Janet asked. She and her husband were still trying, but she was sure she'll get pregnant soon, her psychic said the planets were in alignment. Janet, always a new ager.
"In four weeks." Lila and Bruce were going to throw a gender reveal, they already hired a company to help them out, the party being held in the Sweet Valley Country Club. Boy or girl, both were excited.
"I'm gonna be a grandma." Grace couldn't wait.
"My grandchild, he or she will be well be taken care of." George loved the baby already. Their college fund had a nice chunk of money.
"It will be a challenge, but well worth it." Mary was happy for her friends, especially since she and Mike were expecting baby number two. She kept that a secret, she didn't want to outshine Lila.
"Maybe someday that will be me." Grace saw Ben's discomfort, and squeezed his hand. They were dating for a few months now, and it was getting serious. It was still early for marriage and kids, but Grace was secretly looking at wedding Pinterest blogs. Ben just smiled at Grace and squeezed her hand back.
''Lila, you'll be a great mom." Ellen was happy for her, but was envious. She couldn't help but feel she was getting left behind.
"I'm going to make sure that kid can swim." Reggie was still in a wheelchair, but was determined to be a great godfather. Already he was determined to walk before the baby was born. He was starting to feel his legs again.
Jessica and Elizabeth were oohing over Lila's baby bump, both twins remembered Billie's pregnancy, and Austin's birth.
Lila was smiling at the congratulations, when she saw who walked in she waved Cara over.
"Cara! Come in! Have some cake!"
Lila was truly happy. She had her whole family and friends visiting, she was getting married, and was going to be a mom. She felt truly blessed. Hmm. What's this? There was a present delivered for her. When she opened it, she burst out laughing.
"Thanks Winston." Winston gifted Lila's baby free accordion lessons. It was crudely drawn gift coupons.
"Really Winston?" Jessica remembered her Christmas present all those years ago. She took them, but was made fun of for weeks by Steven. She still had fun though, Winston always made her laugh.
"What? You still think I gave that up. Never." Winston's wedding was only a few days away. He already was planning on serenading Brooke at the reception.
"I can't wait. Thanks Egbert." Lila hugs Winston.
"Look. Hell just froze over. Lila is being nice to Winston." Jessica joked.
Lila laughed with everyone else. She couldn't wait to meet her baby, she and Bruce already chosen names.
The waiter that was hired to serve the drinks at the party was keeping an eye on the party goers, he was making sure everything was going to plan.
