Brooke had a huge headache. Her wedding was coming up, but nothing was going right.
"Hey watch those decorations!"
"Sorry!"
"C'mon big sis, don't sweat the small stuff!"
"I know. Just that I got thirty million things going on right now." Her wedding, moving away, not to mention her and her father's movie. "I have to fly to New York for a last fitting." She loved New York, but was extremely overwhelmed. "Guess Winston has to accept me to walk down the aisle with a off the rack dress." She loved that dress she and Carla designed, but she was too busy. The wedding was in a few days.
"Nope. I seen that dress. Besides, I already made arrangements." She showed Brooke Carla's email.
"Consider this part of my wedding gift to you." Sonya heard nothing but complaints from Brooke. She sympathized with her older sister and made arrangements to fly Carla here instead of Brooke flying to New York. "I'm paying for her hotel and flights, so don't worry about anything. As for your bridal shower, don't forget it's at the Dairy Burger." Brooke made it clear she didn't want strippers, so Sonya made arrangements with the twins, inviting her old friends from SVMS to attend an overnight sleepover. Lunch at the Dairy Burger for the party, but was being held at the Wakefield's for the overnighter. Junk food, bad makeovers, scary movies, it was just like sixth grade. Even replicating an old music video they made in honor of Donny Diamond's Grammy win. Brooke was invited, she didn't become a Unicorn until eighth grade, but her mom was the background singer for that track. Brooke was embarrassed when her younger sister saw it years later.
"Thanks sis." Brooke hugs her sister. "You saved my life." She was so stressed out. "Is Ursula coming?" Brooke made sure there were enough plates for her guest's plus ones.
"She'll be here the night before the wedding." Her and Ursula were staying in Brooke's and Winston's guest bedroom. Sonya wasn't interested in getting married, she and Ursula were only together for a few months. But maybe someday, she'll love to have Brooke as her MoH.
"Since you invited Carla, I think I can squeeze an extra plate." Her guest list was full, but Carla did make her dress. "Let's see." She looked over the guest list. All the Unicorns, her classmates from SVMS and SVH, her parents, including Bobby, her stepfather, Winston's best friends including his best man and woman, his parents, Steven, his wife Billie and their son, Mary, Mike and Jake, Elizabeth and Jessica, Lila, Cara, Dana and Sally Lawson, Amy and Ashley, including their partners, and countless others. Guest list was over a hundred, but to Brooke, cost was nothing, her parents paid for it with Winston's reluctance. He was always too proud; but she and Winston already bought that house from Tom Watts. It was perfect, three bedrooms in a desirable neighbourhood. Neither were planning to have kids yet, but if it happens, Brooke wanted to wait till they were settled in. As much as she hated to leave Sweet Valley, her and Winston were going to be busy, especially with Winston being offered to host 'Can you Engage!' In the finals. Taping was in Hollywood. Andrea loved Winston's DJ voice and offered him a job. Winston was only too happy, he was worried about providing for his wife.
"Things are looking great." The wedding was super glam, it was being held in her father's old estate, but was getting rented for the weekend. Brooke was getting her 30's Hollywood wedding, with Winston getting his Hawaiian tropical reception. Brooke couldn't believe how lucky she was. She was finally marrying the love of her life. She sighed. She looked up hearing a snort. Sonya was smirking at her sister.
"You are such a sap." Sonya was happy for her sister, Brooke deserved it. The sisters were interrupted by their mom.
"There you are!" Constance came strolling in holding her cell.
"Hey mom." Brooke was happy to see her mom, even with the wedding planning, Constance was always too busy to help out. Winston was concerned that he'll get the dreaded momzilla, he remembered Mrs Wakefield's shenanigans from Steven's and Billie's wedding, but Constance mostly stayed home in New York. "We already have a table for you and Bobby, hope you don't mind, Dad and Adeline (Brooke's stepmom) will be sitting with Winston's parents, we have a special table for the mothers and fathers for the bride and groom." When she saw her mom's face, her heart dropped. Sonya, seeing her sister's face, demanded what was going on.
"Mom? What is more important than Brooke's wedding?" Sonya recognized that expression. It was high school grad and NYU all over again.
Constance looked at her daughters with a guilty expression.
"Remember my song, Forgiveness? Well, my agent wants me to fly to Australia for the music video."
"How long? You can attend the wedding, and fly immediately on the jet in time for the music shoot."
"My plane leaves tonight. Filming will last at least two weeks, sorry honey."
Brooke barely heard a thing, even with Sonya screaming how selfish their mom was, Brooke didn't feel a thing. She stopped feeling hurt a long time ago. She saw their mom's expression, Constance had a unreadable expression.
"Mom. It's okay." Brooke was twelve all over again. "Dad and Adeline can walk me down the aisle." What did she expect?
Sonya, she knew her mom as much as Brooke. Even living with her full time, she rarely saw her mom. She just glared at her.
"Good luck in Australia mom. Have a safe flight." She said in a cool voice. Sonya knew her dad Bobby was talking about a separation. He too rarely saw his wife. Constance just stared at her two daughters and then hugged them both. She sniffles.
"I'm sorry." She felt the hugs, but it was stiff. "I'll call when I get there." She gives them one last hug, and walked out.
Brooke was excited and stressed out earlier, but now felt nothing.
"C'mon. I need help calling the caterers and dancers for the reception."
Sonya's heart broke for her sister. Poor Brooke. She needed her parents; luckily Mr Dennis was on speed dial.
"Brooke, that table over there, is it okay if Carla sits there?"
After Brooke and Sonya finalized everything, they go home to change. Winston's best man's grand reopening and television debut was on tonight.
