Mandy was sitting in Enid's office, she was shivering in her gown. Enid was usually busy, but she made a exception for Mandy. She looked around the room, there were posters about women's health, cotton balls sitting in jars, and a ugly office window. Mandy was reading a poster when the door opened.

"Enid, don't beat around the bush. Give it to me straight." Mandy knew, even without tests.

Enid sighed.

"The results of the biopsy came back, it's bad." Enid was staring down at her notes. "I suggest you start chemo as soon as possible."

Mandy looked down. She heard Enid talking, but stopped listening. Andy, her kids. What was she supposed to do? She treated patients, especially cancer patients.

"Do I need surgery?" She wasn't vain, but she detested the thought of getting another scar on her body.

"I would highly recommend it, but I would still recommended chemotherapy." The lump that was on lymph nodes were now on her breast. "We don't know for sure, but we have to make sure it didn't spread."

"Thanks Enid." She takes off her gown. "I'm gonna make some calls." She had a doctor in Atlanta, but she wondered if he was enough. "Enid?"

"Hmm?" She had one hand on the doorknob.

"Can you give me the names of your colleague in New York?" After Enid graduated med school, she had residency at NYU hospital. Her best friend from Theta was now a oncologist. But unlike Mandy who was a pediatrician, she treated adult women patients.

Andy was eating lunch with their kids when Mandy walked in. He knew Mandy had her tests, but seeing her face knew it was bad news. He got up to hug her.

"Kids, you mind watching television?" His heart broke seeing Danneel's expression. She was a triplet, but was the 'oldest.'

"Okay." She turned on the volume, she knew that their parents needed privacy. She had a grim look, Andy knew they couldn't hide the truth any longer.

"How bad is it?" Both went through this before, Andy's aunt, and Mandy herself when she was a child.

"I don't know. I have to go for some more tests." She teared up. "I'm sorry." She cried on Andy's shoulder.

"Shh. Shh. We'll get through this." He hugged his wife. When he saw Danneel watching from the bathroom doorway, he knew she overheard them. "Honey? We have to tell them." Andy hated hiding, by the time he found out about his aunt, it was already too late. He didn't want his kids to suffer like he did.

Mandy looked at the mirror, she saw wet eyes.

"Dee, turn off the TV, we have a family meeting." Once Danneel was gone, she pulled out of her husband's arms. "I have to make some calls." Her family, her friends. Even her lawyer. Not a criminal attorney, but one that specializes in wills and probates. Just in case. She takes her husband's hands. "Whatever happens, make sure the kids are taken care of." They had insurance, but medical bills were expensive.

"I promise." Andy knew he had to pick up shifts, he also knew about that doctor in New York. Wasn't cheap, but she was the number one doctor on the East Coast. "Good thing you went to that party."

Mandy laughed.

"Told you the Unicorns were awesome." Jessica saved her life when she was young, if she didn't get that invitation, she'll still be working, forgetting about herself. They were there then, and she knew they'll be there now. "How about we head to Disneyland for the day." Their flight home was tomorrow, but the flight to New York was the day after. "Thanks."

Andy smiled.

"Kids? We need to talk."

This was going to be a hard road, but Andy would make sure everyone was rallied around Mandy.
