Todd was smiling as he brought in the breakfast tray.
"Morning!" Todd waited till Suzanne sat up, her tousled hair sitting across her face.
"Morning." Suzanne said sleepily. When she saw the tray, her eyes lit up. "Is that for me?" She was hungrily eyeing the breakfast Todd made for her.
"Mmm hmm. I have waffles, coffee, and a small fruit cup. Enjoy." Todd only had enough mix for two waffles, and didn't eat fruit much, so he gave it all to Suzanne. Instead he was eating a bowl of cornflakes.
"This looks delicious Todd, but you didn't have to go through so much trouble for me." Suzanne felt guilty seeing Todd eating cold cereal.
"Meh. You are my guest, how rude would I be to let you starve." Todd was tempted to ask for a bite, but seeing Suzanne enjoying the waffles, changed his mind. Instead, he drinks his coffee.
"Thanks."
It was the morning after the wedding, both Todd and Suzanne, after saying goodbye to their friends returned to Todd's apartment for a midnight cap. Todd, he was terrified, he never thought he would find love again. But once he and Suzanne were alone, neither regretted the next stage of their relationship.
"God, look at myself." Suzanne was laying in Todd's arms, their fancy clothing laying in heaps on the floor. Both were nude from last night. "I need a shower."
"No problem." Todd had to pay a fortune for his bathroom. He had to get permission from his landlord to install a special bathtub/shower for Suzanne, luckily he allowed it. But that also meant Todd had to buy the apartment. "If you need help, I can carry you there."
"I like that." Suzanne was usually fiercely independent, but she didn't feel like wheeling herself around.
While Suzanne was showering, Todd went to wash the dishes. He was just finishing up the last pan when his phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Todd! How's it going?" Andrea's cheerful voice came over the phone.
"Great! I'm surprised to see you out and about." Todd teased. Andrea was a guest at the wedding, she kinda went a little crazy with the champagne. Her and Dana kept singing bad karaoke.
"I had lots of black coffee. Besides, I'm in a good mood."
"Oh? Do tell." Todd was in a good mood himself, he and Suzanne finally consummated their relationship. Only waited a decade.
"The show is a hit! Already my producers are in talks of having a second season!" She squealed.
"Really? That's awesome!" The show only had two episodes so far. Todd seen both, he was nervous about his own episode that was coming up in two weeks. "How do you feel?"
"Dad is happy for me, for once I made it on my own without living under his shadow as Jamie Peter's daughter." Todd knew Andrea hated nepotism.
"Bull. I knew you for years. You would have made it either way." Andrea was always so smart and driven, even in high school.
"Thanks. That isn't the only reason I called, I also wanted to ask for a favour."
"Go for it." Todd already did his part, his bar was already doing a lot of new business.
"Are you interested in running my social media?"
"Me?" Todd had Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, he used all three to advertise his bar. "I don't know much about your life." Todd knew how private Andrea was about her life.
"Not my life, but the show. You did so good promoting Lemon Drop, plus that band you had, I want to ask you if you are interested in running the socials."
Todd, he did what Andrea asked him to do, he worked his ass off promoting that girl band, already they had over a hundred thousand new followers, being careful not to spoil the results of that episode.
"I was just doing what you asked me to do. Besides, I know next to nothing about promotions."
"Don't underestimate yourself. Todd, you are very talented with your promos. Admit it, your bar picked up new business, and it wasn't because of the show." Todd, he had no choice, competition was tough. Luckily he kept up with modern technology.
"I don't know, I'm busy as it is." Todd's bar was picking up business, but he was still far away from making a profit. Plus his debts. He was working full time at the bar, plus overtime since he couldn't afford a full time manager.
"Think about it. You are good. Not only would you be running the accounts, you will be entitled to a percentage of the ads on the show's socials."
A percentage? He already seen the ratings, it was a hit. His bar always played the sports channels 24/7, but when Can You Engage! was on, his bar played that show whenever it was on. His customers didn't mind, they were already asking Todd if they could start a betting pool of the winners.
"I have to think about it." Todd, he was wondering where he could find the time. Not only was he busy with his bar, he also was busy promoting Lemon Drop due to his contract. Plus Suzanne. He was just starting his new relationship.
"Don't take too long! Let me know by the weekend! Remember, you deserve this!" Once they hang up, Suzanne wheeled in the room.
"Todd? What's wrong?"
"Nothing. It's all good actually." He smiled when Suzanne squealed after Todd told her his news.
"Why not? I follow you, that band you talk about, they are amazing. Plus your bar, you are one of the few that are wheelchair friendly. I had no trouble manoeuvring about." Andrea's power wheelchair was large, she rarely went out because of that.
"I'm busy enough as it is, where would I find the time?" He leans down and kisses Suzanne. "I won't have anytime to see you." Todd, he never wanted to lose her again. It's been only one night, but he was already catching deep feelings.
"Think about it at least." She looks up at the clock. "Shit! I have to get going, I have to go to work." Suzanne rarely worked weekends, but she was working overtime to catch up, due to her being in Sweet Valley. She used her hotel room as a office.
"Let me grab my keys." It was too soon, but Todd was hoping Suzanne would move to Sweet Valley, Vermont was too far away.
Once he came back, he went and checked out his socials. Twenty two new followers? Not bad. He checked out Can You Engage! socials. Wow. It is trending huge on YouTube, plus was number one on Twitter. Hmm. When he saw the big name advertisements, he wondered about Andrea's offer.
"I would be super busy." His bar, his new relationship with Suzanne, plus paying back everyone. Todd wondered if he would be making the right decision. When he saw a ad for Miller Light during the YouTube video, he picked up the phone.
