Chapter 321 The Final Chapter In The Lair
Deep underground in the darkness, a silver band of tiny, shimmering planktos stretched hundreds of feet wide.
Like the Milky Way in the summer night sky, drawn by magic, they flowed continuously from the void, uninterrupted, never ceasing...
The silver light completely dissipated the darkness that had enveloped the place for a thousand years.
Reacting to the Locket in Evan's hand, the magic left by Salazar Slytherin was successfully activated, and his shadow slowly appeared.
Evan could feel the powerful magic, the power of hundreds of millions of magical planktos, all converging in Salazar's shadow.
Hiss...
He heard the sound of sparks burning gently in the air. He looked around for the source of the sound and discovered it was the result of powerful magical collisions within Salazar's shadow.
Fine magical particles unexpectedly collided, emitting beautiful rays of golden and silver light.
It was like fireworks that had been downsized countless times and scattered one by one. They looked beautiful, yet contained a staggering amount of magical energy.
This was an unimaginable power for ordinary people, beyond the limits of humans.
Salazar's shadow did not speak, nor did it look at Evan. It remained motionless in silence, with a solemn expression, and his wand in hand pointed at the massive monster with a giant eye.
On his white wand, silver flashes occasionally gleamed from top to bottom.
"Salazar Slytherin, after a thousand years of waiting..."
The deep whisper resonated again, and the huge eyes glared at Slytherin with hatred, as if they wanted to communicate with him.
Slytherin had no intention of communicating with it. He waved his wand, emitting a strange hiss, and numerous colorful halos floated around him.
This was the magic Evan had seen on the rock wall before, but he couldn't grasp Slytherin's Spell. He was stunned for a moment, then understood.
It was Parseltongue; Salazar Slytherin was using magic that is read in Parseltongue.
With Salazar's hiss, the silver planktos from the dark void joined together to form a mass emitting diffuse colored halos.
Like floating hydrogen balloons, they moved slowly in the air.
These colored halos might seem harmless to humans and animals, but Evan knew they were energetic masses composed of the purest magic.
Beneath their dazzling appearance, each carried with it a powerful destructive force.
The number of light masses was increasing, and the dreadful monster became more and more restless.
He was frightened. The blood vessels and flesh fibers in his eyes twisted constantly. After a few seconds, he seemed determined to overcome his fear of Salazar Slytherin. Focusing on the narrow pupils, a huge bloodied fissure once again opened, and he lunged straight towards Salazar's shadow.
Salazar suddenly disappeared upon seeing him coming and turned into a myriad of silver plankton.
The next second, his figure reappeared behind the eye monster, unaffected by its effort, and the wand in his hand waved at a strange angle.
Under his command, all the colorful masses of light that had been aimlessly wandering through the air moved and surrounded the hideous monster at the center.
A sophisticated magical symbol rose from the ground, emitting a green light.
The next second, without warning, two giant snakes of dark green color emerged from the magical symbols.
"Hiss, hiss!" They bared their fangs and coiled directly, swiftly enveloping the eye monster at the center.
Evan blinked; everything before him felt like a dream.
Before him, after being entwined by the giant snakes, the monster was restrained.
It reverted to the form of an eye. Under the influence of magic and the pressure from the snakes, the red in the center started spreading outward until it extended throughout the eye.
It trembled and resisted, but it was already at the end of its power.
Under the entanglement of the giant snakes, its body underwent infinite compression, and its outer layer began to break and crack.
"Heir of Slytherin, you think you have defeated me, but you are unaware of the tragic fate awaiting your arrival." The painful whisper sounded intermittently, and the immense eyes exerted all their strength to slowly return to Evan. "We will meet again soon. I will return...".
The whisper resonated and spread throughout the stone chamber, echoing in bursts.
The next second, a loud explosion occurred, and the huge eyeballs suddenly burst.
Much blood and purple fibers scattered everywhere, spraying in all directions towards the ground.
Evan blinked. He couldn't believe this horrific monster was destroyed so easily!
At that very moment, Malfoy, who had been in a coma, screamed loudly. His expression of pain gradually calmed, and the nightmare that had been tormenting him disappeared.
Everything happened so suddenly that Evan couldn't even react.
He breathed heavily and couldn't believe that the mighty monster was simply dead, simply gone?!
Furthermore, the magic Salazar had just used greatly surprised him.
Salazar's shadow turned to look at Evan. It reshaped into a myriad of silver plankton, which gathered in front of Evan and poured into the Medallion in the air.
The fluorescence of the emerald faded, and the pale gold shone along the emblem on the Medallion.
Slytherin's Medallion slowly fell into Evan's hand and returned to its original form.
The stone room fell silent, and darkness crept back from all sides. Everything felt like an absurd nightmare, whether it was the giant-eyed monster or Salazar Slytherin's powerful magic, everything vanished as if it had never existed.
Evan rose from the ground, drenched in sweat. He wiped the sweat from his brow.
"LUMOS MAXIMA!" The light at the end of his wand illuminated the surroundings once more.
He was impressed by what had just happened. He still had too many questions, but no one could explain to him what was going on.
What should he do now? Evan was not very strong; he did not want to climb out of the hole with Malfoy in a coma. That would be another nightmare.
Perhaps the best choice would be to stay there and wait for help. Dumbledore would surely find them.
Using that time, he could also realign his thoughts.
Boom, boom, boom...
As Evan completely relaxed, the thunderous sound echoed, the rocks around him trembled, and the small cracks in the wall widened at a visible speed.
Unable to withstand the powerful magic that Slytherin had just used, the underground ruins collapsed, and large chunks of rubble fell from above.
He had to get out of there quickly, or he would be buried alive in the depths of the earth!
Evan prepared himself and hurried towards the unconscious Malfoy, swiftly waving his wand. Malfoy rose from the ground and floated around him.
They rushed towards the door and then looked back in great surprise.
"Hey, what's this?"
Evan led Malfoy to where the huge eyeballs had just burst, and found a crimson ribbon on the floor with a strange emblem engraved on it.
He picked it up and glanced briefly at it. The emblem was exactly like the monster that had just been there.
It looked even more horrific and massive than Evan had seen before, as if it could sow fear throughout the world.
It floated in the air, and below were human figures with agony in their expressions, their souls being ripped from their bodies and pouring into the horrifying monster.
This crimson ribbon should have appeared after the monster disappeared. What could be the connection between the two?
Evan didn't have time to investigate. He took it in his hand, determined to wait until he returned to the castle to study it carefully.
