"Not bad." Tom looked around his new place. His new apartment was small, but perfect for a single man. He looked around. Brand new furniture, a new big screen television, and even a new computer. He already cashed his check, Winston and his wife gave him and Isabella a good offer. Of course he had several offers when he put his house on the market, but accepted The Egberts check. "I hope you two enjoy your new home." Once he was done unpacking, he goes on his computer to write his article. The hockey season was about to start, he had a interview with Sydney Crosby and Patrick Kane on his show.

Tom was so busy writing he didn't hear the phone ringing. After the tenth ring, he sighed and answered the phone. Hopefully this didn't take long, he was on a deadline.

"Hello." Crap. He forgot to ask about the rumour that Kane was getting traded to the LA Kings.

"Tommy? Tom? Is that you?" That voice.

"Hello Mary." Tom said politely. His younger sister, he hadn't spoken to Jacob and Mary for years.

"Tom...How's it going? You didn't come to Jacob's graduation." Tom's half brother invited Tom to high school graduation, but knowing George would be there, declined. He and his ex wife Isabella did send a travel voucher to Prague, with all paid accommodations.

"Sorry Mary, but you know how busy being a reporter is like." He loved and missed his younger half sister, but she kept pushing for Tom to forgive their father.

"I know. Tom, about dad."

"Stop right there." Tom says in a low tone.

"It's been years, can you find it in your heart to forgive him?" Mary, she was so blind when it came to George. Even Jacob was starting to pull away, especially when George started hitting on his girlfriend.

"It's complicated Mary." Tom typed in a sentence about Sydney.

Mary sighed.

"He only has a few months left. Can you at least listen to what he wants to say?"

Tom closed his eyes. He cared deeply about his siblings, but knowing George, he'll use them both to manipulate Tom.

"Listen. I really need to get back to work. Take care Mary." Tom hangs up before she could say anything else. He hangs up the phone, determined to finish this article before tonight's show.

It was after he got to work that he realized he didn't tell Mary his new phone number.
